- Katie (10/5): Excellent place to relax in Chiang Dao! - I loved my stay here! The grounds are so peaceful. I loved sitting on the big patio and drinking coffee in the morning. The room is clean and comfortable. And the owner is so incredibly helpful. I really felt taken care of during my stay. Thank you! Everything was good!
- GRM120 (8/5): - Nice place, cabins built of wood.
- Ayelet (8/5): -
- Luis (6/5): -
- tim (9/5): Very nice staff, beautiful compound and everything well arranged. - Nice environment, very friendly staff Nothing
- Henderson (8/5): Peaceful and convenient with a lovely spacious garden - Great breakfast and helpful staff Heavy door with no real lock
- Devin Perno (7/5): - Big open spaces. Convenient. Staff are very nice.
Overall it's ok for the price. It's cheap, but not super cheap. It is so close to a bar. They play music very loud (past 2am). Also close to the highway so you can hear cars.
- steiner (8/5): -
- Maryna (8/5): A beautiful get away in stunning surroundings - Beautiful surroundings and friendly staff.
- Karen (7/5): We enjoyed our stay. - Although close to a main road the accommodation is in a beautiful, large garden and it was quiet and calm. It was central to most things we wanted to visit. It was nice to relax beside the pool. The owner and her helper lady were friendly and helpful. There was a great little restaurant just opposite, the chef was lovely.
- Dobromiła (10/5): -
- Hendrik (5/5): Dringend renovierungsbedürftige Bungalows in schöner Gartenanlage - Schöne Terrasse
- Martin (5/5): -

- Margaux (9/5): - Very peaceful place and so nice with the pool and the trees !
You need to rent motorbike because Chiang Dao isn’t very accessible but it’s lovely and worth visiting !
The host didnt speak English but she still helped us with everything we needed !
Would recommend this place ❤️

- Ainhoa (10/5): Exceptional - The place was amazing, calm and beautiful. -
- Ryan (5/5): Good value for money. - No breakfast. Pool and staff were good. A bit run down but fair for the cost. Chef was not available and facility was older than the pictures suggested
- Mariana (7/5): A little overpriced but good place to stay nonetheless - The staff was very friendly and we had no problem to walk to restaurants. The garden was well kept, the shower was hot and had good water pressure. It was far away from the festival we were attending, but well located within the city. The air con was noisy but we couldn't sleep without it being turned on. There were some communication issues, but the staff really tried their best. It was far away from the festival we were attending, but well located within the city.

Quiet and comfortable
Friendly Staff and Owner
- Robert (10/5): Lovely garden setting - Lovely garden setting for a base in Chiang Dao. Each room has a large covered terrace and the property has a swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff.
- Robert (6/5): Pleasant - The location was good, the property was picturesque and well maintained Only one other couple in dining room and we had to wait for 1 hour after ordering. 1 bowl of muesli and 1 serve of pancakes. But very nice when it finally arrived.
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely bure style accommodation amongst tropical gardens. Our hostess was very helpful dropping us off at the caves and loaning bicycles to explore the area. She is an excellent chef who showed us how to make delicious cashew chicken Tom Yum soup and fried rice. We loved our peaceful stay here.
- Christelle (6/5): Pleasant - Having your own bungalow was nice. Also the big porch in front of each bungalow is nice. I put the portable fan on the porch to keep mozzies away and keep cooler which worked well. Keds is really sweet and speaks English well. There is a mini fridge in room as well as kettle and coffee etc sachets. Everything is basic. You get what you pay for. The restaurant is not open. I had a car so could get to a restaurant, but could be tricky if you have no transport.
- Ann (9/5): Amazing location in a great garden setting. Very peaceful and relaxing - The location of the bungalows in an amazing garden. Ms Ked is a wonderful hostess and breakfast was lovely! She is a great cook, and we had a delicious diner there as well
- Surette (10/5): Exceptional - It was spacious and private and had a porch. Nothing
- Samantha (10/5): Thank you for having us, we were very relaxed at Huan Chiang Dao Resort. - So clean and very well attended.
- Tess (9/5): Superb -
- Annelore (7/5): Good -
- Nitjawan (4/5): Will not come back - Nothing Not clean , room need to improve it.
- Hellen (9/5): Superb - Great little resort and a lovely setting.
Staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful.
On a main road but the layout of the bungalows means it's very peaceful.
Good parking and easy to find.
Breakfast is great! Evening meals are offered but there are plenty of options locally.
Pool is small but perfectly usable. Nothing!
- Claire (7/5): Good -
- Shawn (9/5): We didn’t want to leave - Quiet and peaceful Big area
- Joseph (8/5): I was a good experience. - Breakfast & Dinner
The Manager and her staff were amazing and did they everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Bathroom sink old, shower drain leaked sewer gas
- Salim (8/5): Very good -
- Patrizia (8/5): Relax with swimming pool and nature - The resort is perfect for some relaxation time, maybe less suitable for day trips or adventures. The garden is very well kept, swimming pool is cleaned every morning, plants and common spaces are beautiful, the room is very clean; bottles of water, toilet paper, towels and instant coffee are given to guests every day. The owner is very attentive to the needs of the guests. Bicycles were offered for free. Location is better suitable for bikes or cars. If you don’t drive you can rent a bicycle for free in the resort to move around but keep in mind that Chiang Dao town and other interesting spots can be difficult to reach with the hot weather. Wi-Fi is not high-performing but enough for basic usage. In the background I could hear some traffic noise coming from the main road, but it’s not so invasive.
- Samuel (10/5): Great! - Super friendly staff, very relaxed, and a good location to go and explore. Would reccomend!
- Maarten (10/5): Exceptional - Service was awesome! People are so kind. We did a cooking course.
- Jagoda (8/5): Very good -
- Caroline (7/5): Quiet location with very helpful host and good value for money - Lovely grounds with clean swimming pool and very quiet and peaceful . The owner was very helpful and friendly Hard beds and dark rooms with dark coloured bed linnens and curtains. There was wooden seating outside the room under a veranda but no cushions so very uncomfortable to sit there for non Asian guests. Restaurant was closed which was inconvenient as we had no transport and it was a 2 mile walk to the centre of town along a dark road with no pedestrian walkway.
- Wing-yee (8/5): Very good -
- Marco (2/5): Don’t want to promote this place - The complex was nicely setup Old chalets, bed super hard. The pictures are misleading you. Thought it was on a River in the middle of nowhere but it was on a busy road with a lot of noice. Just a artificial leak. Owner (lady) was not as described online, she was super unfriendly
- Regina (10/5): A great value stay with a very kind host. - If I ever came back to Chiang Dao I would stay here again. Ked is an above and beyond host. She took us to the market with her one day, helped us rent motor bikes and dropped us off at the bus station- very kind.
The resort feels like a little slice of paradise in the valley. It is off the main highway, but you wouldn’t know it once you step onto the property. The huts are in great condition and spotless. The pool was refreshing. I would recommend breakfast there in the morning as well. The only maybe downside is If you’re wanting to stay IN the jungle, this isn’t that. But access around Chiang Dao on motor bike is so easy. And the area the resort is in gets great light and is much less buggy and still very peaceful.
- Vijay (10/5): Excellent Resort highly recommended - The hospitality and care by everyone worked and our host Ked
- Lydia (8/5): Very good -
- Doc771 (10/5): Chiang Dao - Ked and her staff could have helped me enough. Such a friendly atmosphere. I recommend the in House massage, it was so good. The use of a bicycle was really helpful as it would be a fairly long walk in to the centre every day. If you can I do suggest hiring a scooter via Ked to explore as the local area is so beautiful. It was down season so it was quiet but that suited me just fine 🙂 Nothing my stay was great
- Alice (10/5): Chiang Dao - Really nice, friendly host going out of her way to help us.
Lovely setting and great amenities.
- Noga (10/5): 10 ++ - We had an amazing stay at the Huan Resort!
If you are in North Thailand and the Chiang Mai area, you should definitely also include a visit to Chiang Dao. This is a very calm, charming, non-touristy town with lots to see around such as a sticky waterfall, rice terraces, beautiful mountain views, jungles, hot springs, temples, and a huge cave system. We had a really wonderful few days there and got to see a lot of this rural mountain part of Thailand.
If you are visiting Chaing Dao, I wholeheartedly recommend staying at this resort. It is super quiet and relaxing but has everything you need: AC, hot water, refrigerator, nearby places to eat, and even a pool which was a huge bonus for us. Everything was super clean and in excellent shape. But definitely, the best thing was Ket, the owner. Ket made every effort for us to have a good stay. We do not use mopeds and were a bit worried that this would make it hard for us to see the area. However, Ket arranged bicycles for us and even gave us a lift with them to spare us an uphill journey. She arranged a taxi tour for us to see the hot springs, waterfall, and a beautiful viewpoint of the mountains which were too far to reach by cycling. Ket, thank you for your generosity and hospitality!
If you are looking for someplace to relax outside of Chiang Mai and maybe get a little off the beaten track, go here!!!
There wasn't really anything not to like - but if you are sensitive to mosquitos bring long clothes and repellent so you can sit outside in the evening.
- Jackson (4/5): So so - Wonderful staff
Lovely pool and nice cabins Our room 9 was very musty almost mouldy and the air con was very loud has terrible sleeps both nights
- Ole (10/5): Very nice accommodation - highly recommended! - Very friendly owner; good and plentiful breakfast, great and comfortable hut
- Elliot (8/5): Very good - The owner was a wonderful host. She spoke English and did everything to make sure we were comfortable.
- Sabina (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the pool, the relaxing atmosphere, while being so close to town. The included breakfast is fresh & delicious! A lovely place that I'd go to again! Nothing, it's was absolutely lovely. We're we the only folks on the place and it felt like our own slice of paradise.
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (3/5): Poor -
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Quick and easy check-in, good english, great value. Good burger joint up the road! Location isn't perfect if you don't have transport, but that is true of many places in Chaing Doa.
- Duncan (8/5): Very good -
- Juancasini (5/5): Passable -
- Alex (4/5): Cabin by a pond in a plot of land. - Umm... the restaurant opposite was a surprising gem. Cheap and good food. Though this has nothing to do with the hotel... This place is a large plot of land on a main road with very little character. When we arrived there was a guy laying on a bed in reception watching tv who didn't greet any of us, and a woman who was most concerned about payment before offering any other services or explanations. It reminded me of those small privately run campsites, where people in mobile homes stop for one night, but where they had decided to build some rooms around a pond and a tiny pool. There is a MASSIVE sign above the pool to dissuade kids from jumping in.
- Jeroen (4/5): Not worthy of the name 'resort' - I liked the outdoor surroundings. Also, the breakfast was simple but okay. The resort is quite old and most of the facilities have fallen into disrepair. I didn't have hot water, my bathroom looked like it could fall apart any minute. The beds are just awful. I was happy I could leave.
- Utley (8/5): lovely garden resort in Chiang Dao - lovely garden, comfortable room with many amenities. We were impressed with the darkening curtains which you don’t usually find in moderately priced accommodations. The breakfast was plentiful with several choices, and the coffee was excellent. We made good use of the spacious balcony for playing games in the evening. NA
- Patra (8/5): Very good -
- Matthieu (7/5): Good -
- Wobwob (7/5): Good - I used to love this place but this time I was not happy.
We were not welcomed by the owners dog who was very aggressive.
The owner demanded we paid when we had already paid and called me a liar.
Not made welcome here and will never stay here again solely due to the owners attitude.
Very sad as it can be a very good Place with a more welcoming owner.
And we never received an apology. The owner.
- Simon (9/5): loved it - This place is very homely. The pool is clean and it’s glorious at the end of a long day. You may hear your neighbors through the wall of your bungalow (built in pairs) but you will not hear the other bungalows. The shower, aircon, TV, fridge and kettle all work, plenty of power outlets, the bed is comfortable. It is vegan, but there are a multitude of shops, 10 minutes around the corner in the main street. (Ked had no problem with me bringing in some street food meat to put in my amazing vegetable curry) The hosts are warm and welcoming. A nice extra touch I found was apart from the standard two bottles of free water per day - they give you a jug of boiling water to use for the kettle. Very thoughtful. it is near the highway but once you shut your door, there is not much traffic noise at all. But being on the highway is also handy for access to tourist attractions.
- Brian (9/5): Superb - beautiful resort in a beautiful location, friendly staff, pet friendly, good location to do day trips around that party of Thailand.
- Kay (10/5): Exceptional - The place was spotless It took a while to find it
- Kay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (1/5): Bad -
- Anne-loes (5/5): disappointing - … we did not like it. difficult to find the location. very outdated bathroom amd bed linen. and green (dirty looking) swimming pool. for 150bath per person additional breakfast could be booked. only limited choice and starts only at 8h.
- Warwick (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (7/5): Good - Lovely garden, small but handy pool. Reception was rather slow and less than friendly. Entrance gate was closed from the inside before 9pm so it wasn't easy to get back in.
