Guest Reviews
- gailbW9541GR (10/5): Lovely Riad - Riad Tidar by Phoenix as it’s now known is a lovely little riad just inside the medina. It is down some quiet street, a there’s no noise. The rooms are small, but I expected that. They were cozy. The typical Moroccan breakfast was nice and the riad staff were helpful.
- Explore05439616263 (10/5): Amazing Place with great owner and staff - My wife surprised me with a trip to Marrakesh for my 40th birthday. We arrived at the Riad Tidar and was extremely pleased with our reservation from the moment we stepped in.
The Manager was so helpful, the staff were amazing, the bed was comfortable, the shower/bath was great and the decor was homely.
Fresh towels daily, which is always good.
On the day of my 40th, the hotel staff decorated our room with banners and balloons and supplied us with a birthday cake.
There was never anything that was too much for them to do.
Breakfast's were traditional, simple and a very tasty start to the day.
Found the roof terrace to be very private, relaxing and great sun trap.
Location was great with everything being within walking distance.
I could Not recommend this Riad highly enough
- Antonio (10/5): - Aziz and his staff are very welcoming, kind and thoughtful. Aziz went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. It felt as though we were staying in someone's home. The location of Riad Tidar is perfect for shopping and sightseeing and quiet at night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Many, many thanks to our host manager, Aziz and the staff for their kindness and helpfulness! We all enjoyed our stay in Marrakech thanks to all the information they shared with us. Shukram lakum!

- Xhermesx (2/5): Tidar nighmare - I got to Riad tidar late evening, i was meant to just drop my bags and go back out to join some friends, however at my arrival i was informed by the “owner” that he was going to sleep and he was alone in reception so it was not an option for me to go out since nobody would have then open the main door to me. Basically i could not go out. Imagine the level of frustration.
During our stay things did’t get better.
The owner of the riad was constantly checking on us and being very intrusive.
This afternoon we pop in the room with a friend to drop some shopping bags, and at some point he came into the room with no permission, asking our friend to leave while filming us with the phone! Like totally crazy!
Our room was very small, and smelled badly. No bedsheet or towels were changed at any time during our 4 days staying. The bedsheet are fluffy old synthetic blankets. Not the cleanest.
Sometimes There is a manager who speaks english and seems to try to manage things better but the owner of the riad is an absolute nightmare, and you will have to deal with him mainly, and a lot!
Tonight is the night before our departure.
And i can’t wait to leave this place. This is the feeling that this riad gives you.
We booked this place as it was a last minute trip and there was not much available. But after having experienced it i would never go back again and i regreat being there. Really an unnecessary bad energy during the trip, stay away!
