• Jess Lakmaker (7/5): Misleading rooms - but lovely. - The rooms were beautiful and amenities were generous. The breakfast was great. When we arrived, the bar was incredibly busy and there wasn't a member of staff to help us check in. Staff were apologetic about this but we were waiting a while. There didnt seem to be anyone dedicated to hotel guests. When we were taken to our room, we were a little surprised as it didn't look like the photos on booking.com. We thought we had booked a room with a large window, window seat, and sea view. The room had a tiny window and no seat by it and the room was dark. When I queried this with reception, they said they use stock images which represent all the 'types' of rooms i.e. sea view rooms and only the nicest ones are shown on booking.com. What's a shame is that our room was still beautiful and a lot of thought was put into the amenities in the room. If we had known what we were expecting, we would have been thrilled! But we felt disappointed because the room was so much smaller and different to the images online. We would recommend others staying, but just bare in mind that the room might look different to what you expect.
• Lee (6/5): For the cost we were a little disappointed. The room was comfy and well stocked with a great coffee maker. All the staff - The staff were friendly and were always working hard to keep everyone happy. The view from the room was lovely. The bed was large and comfy and the shower was spacious. The room was a little grubby. There were dirty hand marks on the wall the bathroom had some dirty/broken tiles. There were lots of paint chips. The carpet looked a little old and dirty. The parking is a bit of pain at an extra £10 for 24hrs.

Views wew excellent, staff were helpful and freindly, every time you ordered food you were asked if you have any alergies. No chair in room. No bedside light switch next to bed turned on main light. Council car park was ten pounds per night.

Great location for walking the coastal path. Car park easy to use and pay for 24hr parking not too expensive. I messaged the property on Booking.com a month before our stay to make a dinner reservation and request oat milk for the room. I had no reply and didn’t realise it till booking in and they couldn’t find my dinner reservation. The lady at reception was so nice and booked me a table even though they were very busy. When I had worked out the mix up I explained about the unanswered request. Not sure why the hotel didn’t receive or didn’t reply to my request so I hope they look into it.

We were travelling with our baby for the first time ever and they made this an easy experience. It was difficult to work streaming to the television from our laptop; this was only an issue because we were travelling with a baby but just worth knowing. Otherwise it was absolutely perfect.
• Jo (10/5): - I loved it here. Ive recently lost my husband and Abbie was the loveliest girl who checked me in. She gave me the warmest hug when some tears. And gave me advice where to watch the sunset and see the seals. She's an absolute gem. All of the staff were so friendly, you obviously treat them well as they look happy to be there. Perfect room and location and food was fab. Thankyou for helping my very sad time that little bit more bearable mostly because of the staff 💕
• Jill (10/5): Beautiful location and room and friendly staff - Room was larger than we expected with a partial sea view despite not booking a sea view. Very comfortable with lots of space. Dinner and breakfast were both lovely with plenty of choice, and all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. You can't really beat the location for coastal views and walking. Nothing. It would be nice if they had parking but in a small place like this that I'm sure gets very busy in peak months I can understand that's probably not under their control.

Lovely traditional building. in a beautiful location right on the cove. We really enjoyed our stay. I'm aware its very early February and perhaps a quiet time, but really could not find any fault or reason to not be 100% happy whatsoever. everything was perfect

• Carole (7/5): Despite small negative comment , we had a relaxing 2 night break and would consider returning again - The hotel being a period property was modernised but decorated beautifully to retain its character. The bed was really comfy with feather pillows and mattress topper. We had our best nights sleep for a long time . Spacious shower with luxury toiletries provided. Good choice for breakfast. Excellent location , short walk to beach, restaurants and coastal paths. The lighting in the bedroom and bathroom was poor especially When trying to read or putting on make up etc. Could easily be rectified with brighter bulbs in some lamps. The fish and chip meal in the restaurant was very disappointing. Mostly batter and the fish was tasteless and mushy ( frozen?) chips were cold. Starter of crab dip with bread was good. No prices shown on the drinks menu. Car park was £10 for 24 hours but right next to the hotel.

Breakfast was excellent with some lovely choices of cooked food and a great continental table too. Parking. We didn’t arrive in time to park right outside so went in the public car park. The pay machine needs sorting. Every time we tried to put in greater than four hours itkept trying to charge £87! The machine needs looking at by the council.

Staff were excellent and room was really well located fro sea views. Breakfast was good with a large variety and the dinner menu was reasonable and not overly expensive. There often was nobody in reception to answer any query but as the bar and reception were almost one then therewas usually someone to ask.

Toilet paper not replenished or bathroom tidied. Biscuits not replenished and only one bottle of water in fridge. Our friends found sand/grit in their bed. Their towels were taken and not replaced, meaning they only had hand towels to use after showering. The paint in rooms were marked and tired.
