The breakfast was varied but more for the Asian guests. Great service from when we used the laundry service. We had afternoon tea in with the room, it was nice to have but not great choices. But appreciated.
• Kathy Kay (10/5): - The staff was excellent and attentive. The hotel has that old world charm. I liked the street and neighborhood. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Good wifi and smart tv. The beds and pillows were comfortable and good aircon and shower. The breakfast buffet was tasty with a large selection and really good omelets and coffee and juices. I also enjoyed the rooftop afternoon tea. I had an excellent massage in the rooftop spa , I really recommend this spa. There's a super good coffee Cafe at the entrance that they gave me a voucher for on arrival. I enjoyed relaxing at the rooftop pool in the evenings and with my morning coffee to watch the sunrise. I would stay there again. All was good.

The rooftop pool was amazing. Everything looked exactly like the pictures online, which made the whole experience even better.

• Previn (9/5): Affordable luxury hotel in an awesome location - The location is ideal to walk and /or use grab to wherever you want to go. From the coffee apartments to ban than through Saigon square with a little detour off Saigon centre. Au Lac Charne offers a variety of food at the door step, from Vietnamese to Korean and believe or not a Aussie pub just across the street of the hotel. We felt at home 😁😁😁 The establishment is a bit dated and some minor refurbishment would make it a top notch hotel. This is only like looking with a magnifying glass any issues

• Melinda (9/5): Excellent location and exceptional staff - Au Lac Charner is in an excellent location, very central to main attractions and markets. The staff were exceptional, in particular Daisy and Wendy on the front desk. My son had a medical incident while holidaying in Vietnam and we had to extend our stay. Daisy went above and beyond to help us during this stressful time and was very caring and kind. Could not fault the service. At times we could hear the surrounding music late at night, however being in such a central location this was to be expected.

• Elisha (4/5): Choose elsewhere - Management refused to give us our cash change from minibar purchase at checkout because they wanted to charge us for the room card keys (which we left in the rooms) basically holding the cash to ransom, can’t say I have ever been charged for a room card key before, we had a two room booking and left them with our change after repeatedly asking for is back as car was waiting outside to airport The pictures do not match the rooms, the pictures are way newer and nicer, some rooms have a smell, they don’t close the doors of vacant rooms for this reason but they did upgrade our room for this reason The reception area is lovely but it goes downhill from there, the front is made to look impressive The pool area is sub par and also is nothing nothing like the glossy pics provided The breakfast is below average Great location All other staff aside from money incident were lovely
• Tammy (2/5): Terrible, never again - Housekeeping staff were amazing, very friendly and welcoming. This was my 3rd stay since September 2023, the property seemed dated and worn. The afternoon tea has been scaled back, we only bothered once, it was halfway through the service, food was scarce and not replenished. When I requested a later check out I was surprised to be charged half the room rate for a few hours. The biggest issue was the showers, late on the first night, stone cold, got up early for a walk, still cold. We advised reception and it was hot on our return, next day ok. Last day and when we were being charged a ridiculous amount for a late check out the water was barely tepid. A staff member attended my room, agreed it was barely tepid and apologised. I had already requested a reduction in the late check out fee of which they refused and offered a Grab to the airport. I think the worst part was reception gaslighting me on checkout stating the Grab was goodwill and that they tested the water everyday and it was consistently 55 degrees. This couldn't have been further from the truth, they do not value or treat repeat customers well at all. If having a shower is important to you, this isn't the place for you.

• Scheer (8/5): Ideal hotel for city center - The hotel is well located within a few minutes walk from the Opera. However you can enjoy the streetlife of Vietnam with the local restaurants, coffee shops and streetfood. The hotel has a nice style, our room was big and confortable. The staff were kind and helpful (organisation excursions, taxis, recommandation restaurants, etc). If you have time and if you like it, take a massage in the hotel spa. We really appreciated it. The breakfast was great with lot of choice. n/a

The fried bananas were my favorite daily ritual. The rooms were excellent and I had one with a balcony shower which was really nice. The pool was gorgeous and hardly busy when we stayed. The beds were comfortable and the rooms a good size, very good value for money and in an excellent location. Would stay here again without hesitation.

The team was incredibly friendly, and a special thank you to Kent (the manager) who was helpful even before we arrived, sorting transport and guest services made everything seamless. The hotel is clean, and the location is perfect, especially for families with young kids who don’t want to walk far. Really appreciate the hospitality, thank you Kent!
