Le bâtiment de l’hôtel est moderne et fonctionnel, il manque sans doute un peu du charme British mais le personnel, très agréable, et le confort des chambres compense largement. Grand parking gratuit. Plage à proximité immédiate (idéale en basse saison, à voir si pas trop de monde en haute saison?). Bar et restaurant en terrasse avec vue sur la mer: l’emplacement idéal ! mais beaucoup, beaucoup d’attente pour le resto. Le personnel a gentiment offert les boissons pour compenser. A part ca, l’emplacement pour boire un verre est très agréable.

Unfortunately there was a drain problem which meant the bathroom was almost a no go area due to the smell. Restaurant was promising, but the portions were rather mean. The quality and presentation though was very good and the staff proactive on an issue raised.
- emily (10/5): Brilliant stay enjoyed drinks, dinner, bed and breakfast. - Decor very stylish modern but homely, very comfortable mattress and pillows generous sized rooms and bathroom, stunning sun terrance great views! Breakfast delicious. We also had dinner and drinks great food! Nice wine also. Staff friendly. It’s not that I didn’t like it as I do love whispering angel but this being the cheapest rose wine at £55 per bottle or £13 medium glass shame there’s not something a little less.
- Hazel (7/5): Would expect more for the price - This hotel was fine. Room was comfortable. It was needlessly expensive. At £255 a night I would expect more facilities like at least a swimming pool. The restaurant also was very expensive with no option for just a bar meal if wanted. It was the only place to stay on our walk around the coastal path. I wouldn't stay there again.

Whilst I appreciate having someone available to help and advise with wines might be useful our dinning experience was let down in this regard. The wine we had ordered (Albarinho) was left on a tray on the bar getting warm, whilst the sommelier decide to deliver the red wine next to it to another table. Our Albarinho sat on the bar getting warmer….. When the sommelier returned and delivered us our wine, we had waited 15 minutes! He opened the wine with difficulty, poured us a little in our glass and then left the bottle on the table and walked away, I had to stop him to ask for a wine cooler. The waiters/waitresses could have brought the wine directly to us as they knew what they were doing and made the experience better for all!. Is this extra theatrical joker necessary or can the ‘rock restaurant’ encourage their waiting staff

Staff were fantastic and nothing too much trouble. Facilities exceptionally clean & done up to a high standard. Amazing view from room & balcony - well worth the upgrade to fall asleep to the sound of waves! Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

We saved money and had a car park view but for another £30 you could have a view overlooking the beach at freshwater bay. The room was spacious and clean . Can’t believe that weekend stayers are not permitted to stay until Monday morning. Had to find another hotel for Sunday night. Was frustrating to say the least. We arrived in our room around 7 pm. It was freezing cold outside and the window in the room was wide open and no heating on. Would have thought that somebody could have shut the window earlier on in the day and switched the radiator on. Debacle ensued about how much we had paid. We had been overcharged by £60. Took the staff on reception an age to get the refund sorted. The breakfast staff were great as was the breakfast.

- Robert (10/5): - This hotel is exquisite in every way; the attitude and ethos of the staff is exemplary and the owners can be seen mucking in despite the fact that you are emerged in luxury and exceptional design. Our room was gorgeous and the sea views just surreal . . . The waves right in front of you, the sound. Our room (P2) is beautifully designed and carefully, practically thought through . . .I am a fuss pot but could not fault it. The food was sublime and spoilt for choice; the price is worth it because this is quality. . . . Particular thanks to Chris, who drove us both ways from the ferry, Heather, Alice and of course, Mark and Gail (owners). . .. what an extraordinary team who’s ethics should be replicated. The views were amazing I left my jacket behind and the staff called really quickly so I was able to go back and get it, amazing thank you so much. Breakfast was great, nice selection Restaurant prices (High) and food selection for evening and lunch, would benefit from a greater variety, not much that suited us apart from the moules would have been ok for 1 of us otherwise nothing. We went too a pub up the road instead but would have rather stayed at the hotel than gone out again. We also had a tea and chocolate one afternoon but it was very expensive, we didn't see the cost before we purchased and would have used the rooms instead had we seen it.

Incredible views & connection with sea & sky amazing location Service was out of this world - genuinely everyone was brilliant & so engaging The food was generally very good. This is not a dislike but just an opportunity -a little more attention to detail on the food please It was an overnight stay: Luke warm creamed potato was served & quickly replaced when flagged. Eating at 7pm the Gurnard was already gone as was one other main. Breakfast at 8.30 & no sourdough for the Avocado dish- serving it on a slice of white bloomer bread without checking if that’s ok or offering the customer a chance to choose again. (Tesco opens at 7am locally )

Fire doors open inward... 🤔😱 Our "deluxe" discounted room was in the front of building, so some road & parking noise, but we always carry ear plugs. Even with these issues, it was a 10.

- GoTravelPath (9/5): Lovely hotel - Sea facing rooms with balcony are brilliant - so close to sea. Room a nice size and good sized bathroom. Staff all seem to take their jobs seriously (i.e. none of the disinterested service one gets in some UK hotels) and one gets the sense things are being 'run properly'. Restaurant staff (especially the lady at the door) very efficient and helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay. Only fault I would say is in restaurant - the steaks we both had were far to chewy, really not great.

- carolann (8/5): Best views - We had a coastal suite. Fab sea views. Although if you want some privacy I wouldn't book this room. Location is wonderful. Food was good No privacy on the terrace attached to our room.

- Gary (10/5): Great staff, good quality food and accommodation. - Located next to the sea within Freshwater Bay. The weather was particularly spectacular at the time of our stay, that is storm force winds and high seas viewed from the hotels wonderful bar and restaurant. Nothing, everything was positive.

- richard (10/5): - Everything from the reception when booking in and then just not just giving us the key to the room but giving us a tour of the hotel and explaining everything to us on the way, to going back to reception and finding our cases had been taken up to our room. Then the room having a wonderful view from our balcony over the bay. The staff in the restaurant were all friendly and attentive and the food wonderful. We arrived meaning to only eat in the restaurant 1 night but finished up eating there every night of our stay. Can't wait to return. Thanks to all at the hotel Nothing

- Chris (7/5): A pleasant stay but overpriced for what was offered. Can’t beat location though. - An excellent location right on the seafront. Clean and freshly decorated rooms. Great breakfast. Arrived and given wrong room - gave us a double but we booked a suite. Eventually sorted out but no apology just blaming booking.com. Reception staff generally seemed inexperienced and poorly trained. Shared balcony, rather than private balcony. room rate at £330/night was not justified by the small size of the room or hotel quality.
- Wendy (10/5): One night stay to celebrate a birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. - We liked that it had been freshly refurbished. The rooms were very clean, large comfortable bed and great to see views! The staff and food were excellent. Dinner was quite expensive.
- Maydan (9/5): High class hotel in an amazing location - Beautiful place with amazing ocean views. Huge modern room and bathroom. Very nice common areas. Great location. 1. No spa. 2. We were waiting for breakfast for 45 min with zero attention from the staff. No apologies or explanations. The team at the restaurant was young and unprofessional. A bit disappointing for such a place.

- Noble (10/5): - From checking in on Tuesday 19th August to checkout on the 24th couldn't fault the hotel 🏨 all the staff were brilliant couldn't do enough for you. 👍👍😎 The only thing I could complain about was the smell in the drains in the bathroom but not all the time.😔

We didnt eat there in the evening so cant comment on the dinner menu. But the breakfast was nothing special. Had american pancakes, which were just the small supermarket pancakes. Then had scrambled eggs which was powdered eggs!!!!! Not what you expect!

- janette (5/5): Disappointed - The views from the hotel were beautiful Staff on arrival were abrupt and dismissive We weren't advised that we would be unable to eat at restaurant or bar on Saturday, when we asked to have food in our room we were told it wasn't possible. We went and got our own food when I went to reception to request some plates etc I was told to go to the restaurant and sort it out myself Towels weren't provided when room was cleaned I provided my feedback on check out and was advised the manager would call me to discuss, however it's now mid August and I am still waiting for the call, says it all.

- Peter (10/5): Very enjoyable few days in a very comfortable hotel, would love to return. - Great location overlooking the beach, very friendly and welcoming staff. Well furnished room with large comfortable bed, and the best showers we’ve ever had! Quiet rooms despite a busy time. Good parking. Excellent restaurant. Lovely large patio but as communal you lose some privacy. More towel hooks/rails needed for the bathroom.
