- Lorna (7/5): Nice hotel but more expensive than anticipated - The hotel is in a pretty square in San Telmo and close to amenities like the market. The staff are helpful and the room is well appointed and clean. We heard the breakfast wasn't great so went to local cafés. The cost of the laundry service is extortionate and somehow our bill for the room ended up being much more expensive than when booked. The rooms all seem to overlook a central courtyard which creates the potential for noisy customers to disturb your sleep.

- courtneybY9430EB (10/5): Quaint hotel with very convenient location in San Telmo neighborhood - I arrived very early at about noon and they were able to provide me a room as a gold member which was very nice. Really lovely hotel, with a gorgeous courtyard restaurant and a rooftop pool. It was loud in the hallways and I could occasionally hear water running from walls from other rooms, this was easily blocked out with a white noise app. I am mindful this is likely an old building in an old neighborhood. Other than this very minor thing I would highly recommend this hotel. Jeronimo in reception helped me and he was amazing. Everyone speaks very good English including restaurant staff. Hotel is in the heart of the San Telmo neighborhood and walking distance to the large market. San Telmo is a very busy lively neighborhood so if you’re looking for quiet it might not be the neighborhood for you. Also the hotel is in a square not accessible to vehicles so you will have to carry your luggage around the corner a very short block. Staff at the hotel did offer me help with my bags. I loved this hotel!

The cobblestone streets and vibrant murals create an authentic Argentine atmosphere, making you feel right at home. Thomas, our friendly check-in staff, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. He provided us with a spacious room featuring a balcony and an extra bed, demonstrating their attention to detail. The hotel is situated in a picturesque square, where dancers perform tango in the evenings, adding to the lively ambiance. Just a short walk away, you’ll find an array of great shops and bars. the san telmo food market is just a block away. there’s tons of antique and leather shops in the one block radius of the hotel. The hotel boasts a delightful bar and a beautiful courtyard, perfect for relaxing and soaking in the surroundings. It’s undoubtedly the highlight of the area. The culinary offerings are exceptional, with dishes that are not only delicious but also significantly more affordable compared to the local restaurants. As a Hilton Diamond member, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a later checkout time of 4 pm, accommodating our flight departure at 9 pm to the USA. we also received a welcome drink and a very tasty empanada as well as breakfast. the breakfast here was quite limited and extra charges for a omelette or bacon are strange. however overall we liked this hotel and the area. thank you again to the manager.

Mercado de San Telmo is close by and hundreds of restaurants to choose from. Other than the Galeria Solar de French a variety of shops are nearby. Hats off to all the staff at the hotel. Your dedication and hospitality mean a lot to us during our stay. Praise especially for the staff at the front desk. Everyone has made exceptional efforts to accommodate us. Thanks Jerónimo! Our stay in Buenos Aires has been wonderful with your recommendations and reservations made for us. Room is clean and basic. Buffet breakfast is basic and guests can order from the kitchen as well. Beware that the plaza Dorrego is closed for vehicles traffic on Sunday and no vehicles access to the hotel. Avoid the connecting rooms, x01 and x02. You could hear any noise from the adjacent room anytime of the day! I even encountered two incidents that the guests next door tried to open the door between the connecting rooms. I’m glad they failed to do so and gave up after a few tries. Another scary incident! Two guests with keycard opened our room door and only found out that we were inside the room! Surprise! They apologized and left and we were stunned and informed the front desk. Staff had no clue what went wrong!

- MH (7/5): Bruit intérieur beaucoup trop important - Excellent emplacement. Chambre contemporaine plutôt agréable. Bon rapport qualité-prix mais voir ce que je n'ai pas apprécié et qui est rédhibitoire. Le bruit très fréquent des portes des chambres qui claquent en raison de leur fermeture automatique. Extrêmement dérangeant lorsqu'on veut se reposer surtout après un long vol. Pour cette seule raison je ne recommande pas l'hôtel.

- Soccerbeds (10/5): 5 star review for close to 4 1/2 star hotel! - I am giving this review 5 stars not necessarily because this boutique hotel is truly 5 stars but because of our overall experience. The highlights were Jeronimo at the front desk, the bartender German and Antonio the Bellman both. They were all wonderful and always there to help you. The rest of the staff was fine but these were the standouts. The hotel is a great boutique feel in a trendy somewhat bohemian neighborhood called San Telmo. Great food in the neighborhood. The rooftop pool was skinny but long and the perfect temperature. Definitely a huge bonus on hot days. Didn’t use the gym but it was functional. The beds were extremely comfy and the shower had perfect pressure ( I hate half glass showers as I can’t seem to figure out how to keep the water from soaking the towel on the floor. The few things that keep this from being a truly 5 star hotel is no ironing board or hairdryer in the room, only 2 waters a day before they charge which is a bit tacky being 90 degrees every day. Also, this is a wine county and there are no wine openers in the room. If they are worried about people taking the lm simply charge a few extra dollars at checkout if they disappear. I would hope the guests would respect what’s in the room. Again, my family enjoyed this hotel very much and would stay again. I just would change the few things mentioned above. I travel the world and stay at all types of hotels from Four Seasons to Hiltons to Marriotts and try to set my expectations appropriately always. Thanks again to Jeromino for being so great.
- 46mimicab (10/5): Geronimo this hotels angel!!! - We arrive tonight exhausted from a very long trip and met the most incredible front desk manager named Geronimo. He helped us with everything including I had scheduled this hotel on the wrong month on accident. He quickly serviced us accommodated two rooms for my parents as well as my husband and I, he helped us Find restaurants. He was a pleasure to work with and we decided we are going to make it a tradition to come to this hotel whenever we come back to Argentina, which is often! It is a beautiful hotel and the service is impeccable. But special special thanks to Geronimo for being incredible and making us feel so at home we love this place!
- GeoMedic (4/5): Great Staff but not a comfy room for me - Wow. Okay. How to describe this place... first the good... this for me is in the boutique hotel category. The staff is excellent. They are some of the best anywhere, and no, that isn't hyperbole. I have been in hotels in 83 countries and they stand out. This includes the breakfast staff. The breakfast had a diverse assortment of good food. The rooms are clean and spacious, if a bit dated. It is also inexpensive. No material complaint about the room amenities, but we will get to review sleep momentarily. Now the not so good. Let's start off with the neighbourhood... sketchy. While it is close to a lot of important places and services, nestled as it is in an antique and artsy shop area, the neighbourhood should be regarded as "up and coming", but watch your back after dark. Several of my local contacts warned me not to stray from the hotel square at night. Traveling by taxi to the mall or out to a special destination? Take a map, the hotel phone number, and directionsas in Spanish (me gusta hablar en Espanol, pero no puedo hablar bien). I found that taxi drivers were not necessarily familiar with the location. While the hotel prides ithemself on being environmentally friendly and economic, there is a downside. Temperature control, ata least while I was there was not good. Their advice, if it is cold... close the window. If it is hot, open the window. I was there in May. It was neither cold nor hot, so it was stuffy. With the window (sliding door) open to the rain, it was muggy warm. Sleep was difficult at best as I am unaccustomed to that in-room climate. While I am sure I could get used to it, that shouldn't be the aim of a business trip. I would rather pay more and have good sleep after traveling for the previous 24 hours. As you can see from the hotel image, the central courtyard is the dining extension. Unfortunately, during my stay it was raining so it was unuseable. I elected to eat at the neighbouring restaurant which I will review shortly. On the plus side, if you like flea market type events, the square in front of the hotel hosts a weekly market on the weekend. I ended up spending only one night before fleeing BA to Uruguay for the rest of the long weekend. Would I return to the hotel? Yes, even though I rate it low, but it would need to be winter-ish. The staff really made my day and provides the basis for the experience grade not being lower. It is as low as it is because of the poor sleep. The first night in a hotel is never a great night's sleep, but this was quite uncomfortable. But that's me and this is my review. Others I met there seemed a bit more tolerant.

- RobNewYorkCity (10/5): A diamond of a small hotel in Buenos Aires - This hotel lives up to it's description of a small boutique hotel. The level of service received was exceptional, especially by two members of the front desk staff (Lujan and Jeronimo)! We were welcomed by Lujan who could not have been more welcoming and efficient, we delighted in her greeting us every day as we were coming or going from the hotel. Another example of incredible service was from Jeronimo, we'd always see him working at the desk, he always had a magnificent smile and never failed to greet us. As we were leaving the hotel, there was a problem with the airport taxi service that we had booked and we were near the door waiting for almost two hours. Jeronimo must have seen us, came out and offered assistance. His care and attention was VERY much appreciated. And the hospitality we saw from Jeronimo and Lujan was not just customer service, it was sincere and real care by two very professionals! The hotel itself is stunning, all rooms surrounding a courtyard. It's a great place to be outside to dine or have breakfast, or simply to sit and relax. The rooms are very comfortably furnished, contemporary, and the bedding was extremely comfortable. We had several very hot days (30 degrees C / 90 degrees F) and the air conditioning in the room worked perfectly, we were consistently very comfortable. Also water temperature and pressure in the shower was ideal. Maid service and cleaning was top notch, zero concerns. The location of the hotel is excellent! There are multiple excellent restaurants in a very easy walking distance as well as many shops. If you need bus or a sightseeing bus, it's only a block walk away. San Telmo is a fun area to stay in, and this hotel is centrally located. I give the hotel a 5-star rating, and professionals like Lujan and Jeronimo would make me give it 6-stars if I could !! I highly recommend this hotel, you'll feel like you're staying with friends!

Staff is excellent, room is nice and maid service is efficient and spotless ñ. The front desk staff, especially Jerónimo, are very courteous and knowledgeable. Jerónimo is very engaging and thorough.

- rjrussotravel (10/5): Wonderful Stay in The Heart of Lively and Artsy San Telmo - I recently completed a wonderful five night stay at the Hotel Anselmo, in the San Telmo area of Buenos Aires. The hotel is uniquely designed in that the room face an interior courtyard which is open to the sky. I arrived early in the morning and Lujan at the front desk was extremely helpful, allowing me to have a complimentary breakfast and notifying me via WhatsApp of my room’s readiness. Lujan was very helpful with multiple questions and requests throughout my stay. The hotel lobby makes a wonderful first impression with beautiful contemporary art and flowers to greet you. I found the hotel breakfast to be more than satisfactory and enjoyed the coffee, juices, pastries, fruit and breads which are just some of the items they offered. Laura and Veronica, who provided service for the breakfast during my stay were great. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a wine bar and restaurant, which I only tried once during lunch but the menu looked fantastic and my sandwich on baguette for lunch was very tasty. The location of the hotel is a prime one. Just across the street from the busy Plaza Dorrego, where there always seems to be action including tango dancers and artisans selling their wares. The surrounding cobblestone streets have many wonderful shops and restaurants. More than I could explore during my six day stay! On Sundays the Féria San Telmo is right at your doorstep with many dozens of vendors set up on the nearby cobblestone streets. If you don’t mind walking the very notable Plaza de Mayo is about a three-quarters of a mile north on Calle Defensa which is just outside the hotel. Catching an Uber or taxi at the hotel is easy (except on Sundays where the markets are in the street) if you prefer to ride. The Subte (subway) is about a 10-minute walk away (either San Juan or Independencia) if you prefer public transportation. I found my king bed room to be comfortable, although my needs are not too complex as a solo traveler. The bed was very comfortable and I found the closet space that included a few drawers and a safe to be fine for my needs. Although the surrounding streets are very lively, with lots of ambient noise, the rooms are protected from that since they face inward. Natural light still filters down since the courtyard the rooms face is open to the sky. There was one wedding reception that took place in the outdoor area of the central courtyard during the first day of my stay and that made an afternoon nap I wanted to take (after an all night flight) impossible. Likewise on Saturday night the restaurant seemed to have a DJ till at least midnight and being on floor 1, two levels above the restaurant, I needed ear plugs to get to sleep. I’m not usually an early sleeper but I was pretty wiped out from my long days of sight seeing. This wasn’t a deal breaker for me but something to know if you’re an early sleeper. One thing to know about the rooms is that the air is centrally controlled, but you have the ability to turn it on or off by pushing a button. This wasn’t a problem for me as I hit the switch when I felt the room was uncomfortable and it was fine within a few minutes. The bathroom and shower is pretty cramped, with a small vanity and a shallow sink basin that is basically inside the room. Not a problem for me as a solo traveler with basic needs but could be an annoyance for some who like or need more bathroom space. Any time I needed the room serviced it was done so very nicely and the options evening turn down service, with chocolates, was a nice touch. The hotel has a roof deck with a pool and a gym. Due to rainy weather and my extensive itinerary I was only able to pop up there and take a look. If the weather is right and you have the time it seems like a great place to chill out or get some exercise. There’s also a small vegetable garden on the roof as well. All in all, the location, unique design of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff were highlights of my stay. Being a Curio Collection hotel I appreciated the various perks afforded to Hilton Honors members as well. If you want to be in the heart of the artsy and cool part of Buenos Aires I recommend considering the Hotel Anselmo,

The plaza is lively even on a Tuesday afternoon we arrived. There were tables and chairs catered by the restaurants around the plaza. We even saw tango dancers. We felt safe in this cobbled stone streets area with police officers roaming around. The hotel is small seemed to be from an old grand house but well maintained. The lobby and hallway have dark woods with pieces of art scattered all over. There’s huge paintings by the entrance. Floors squeaking as you walk. The bellman, Tony, is very attentive and welcoming. He always greet everyone with a smile. The front desk staff, Jeronimo, is polite and cordial. He always greets us throughout our stay there. The room is small and dark. It has rudimentary amenities that you’ll ever need. The bathroom is small but the water pressure from the shower is strong. The TV only has Spanish language even CNN are in Spanish. I would like to mention the centralized air conditioning/ heating they have. It states that they have that system to support the environment. When we were there, they have the heating turned on. The weather is fine, spring like temps. We turned off the system but still too hot inside. We cannot change the temp to cool the room. We asked for their help but just gave us a loud electric fan to use. We opened our window for some cool air and noticed there’s a lot of windows opened by other guests which led us to believe that we’re not the only ones feeling hot. We just hoped that they turned off their heater when they opened the windows, otherwise, the heater will just keep on running which defeats the purpose of the hotel’s efforts in supporting the environment. I hope the hotel management realize this situation and do something about it. The breakfast is where the courtyard is. The breakfast spread is just ok, but the media lunas and croissants are good. Laura and Veronica are friendly and accommodating. They have a terrace on the top floor with a pool. The pool is closed due to the season but is a nice place to hang out and check the views. Overall, I would recommend to other people but will give them a heads up that they cannot control the temperature in the room as they wish.

The hotel itself is tucked away at the corner of a square, where you can watch couples dancing the Argentinian tango. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable with a great bathroom, complete with walk in shower. The hotel has a roof top pool with views across the square below (the pool wasn’t open when we stayed). Breakfast is buffet style, with a good selection hot and cold options, plenty of fruit and pastries. Staff on reception were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We would definitely stay there again.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for outstanding service and a location that’s within easy walking distance of everything—great restaurants, shopping, and many of the area’s must-see sights. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the vibe of the hotel is wonderful. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful (as non Spanish speaking tourists). The breakfast was a wonderful way to spend our day. Such a fantastic location.

The hotel and staff were wonderful (especially Laura who staffed the breakfast area each morning). There are lots of shops and restaurants all around the hotel with a big antique/art/curio market every Sunday right outside the front door in the square and the San Telmo Mercado (great food and tapas) about a block away. Downtown sights were walkable as well.

Every Sundays, the plaza in front had a market that crossed to different streets in San Telmo. There was even a tango show in the plaza. It was really an amazing location and stay!
- dselvan (10/5): Boutique hotel in Sal Telmo - We stayed for 2 nights and since we have been to Buenos Aires before, wanted to stay in a different part of the city and San Telmo is certainly unique. The hotel is tucked into the corner of the square, which during the weekend is part of the San Telmo market and was bustling. We loved walking around the markets and even the Casa Rosado is only 20 minutes stroll. Had an early check in after a long flight which was really appreciated. The rooms are small but well appointed although a bit dark. Love the central area which is open at the top and all the trees and plants. The pool at the top is nice but was too cold for us to use in March but lovely views nevertheless. Breakfast was ok but not much choice as I would like. Overall however, still a nice place to stay.

The breakfast is super delicious and the staff could not be better! We had so many suggestions and Jeronimo is a real godsend!! I love the water pressure in the shower!!

- S1507SLdavidc (10/5): A Magnificent Stay! - Our stay at the Anselmo exceeded our expectations. The location of the hotel was great. You literally walk out of the hotel and the San Telmo Sunday Market (20+ blocks) of booths and vendors as well as the Indoor Market were all right there. We alos attended a Tango show as well as did a walking tour of the City Centre. Again the location was perfect. We were celebrating our 5th anniversary. The hotel staff were great as well. They sent up some wine and some alfajores for our special day. My only knock is that in the winter the HVAC is centralized, so those who get hot easily will either need to request a fan as we did and/or open the windows within the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great hotel in a convenient location.

Eu questionei porque ela não me informou isso no início? Aí eu não teria feito o câmbio de Reais por Pesos? E o pagamento em cartão de crédito não tem cobrança desta taxa o IVA. Resumindo paguei no cartão de crédito para não pagar o IVA, e troquei os pesos por Reais, tendo prejuízo no câmbio na retroca.

- CMEWALK (10/5): Beautiful Location for our short visit - Due to some flight delays we arrived a day late but arriving at the hotel, we immediately perked up. I got to meet the wonderful folks like Ariel who I had been emailing with for my planning. The front desks response was so quick. Our rooms were beautiful and quiet and I appreciated the birthday cheesecake and sparkling wine and the birthday dinner reservation after a long day of flying. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. Oh and the location - hop on/hop off - a couple of blocks away, San Telmo Market which will make your belt tight and your luggage heavier, is around the corner. And finally, step out the door on Sunday to the famous street fair which is huge. We left on Sunday, and they assisted us with our bags to a corner away from the street fair. Converted USD around the corner at a place they recommended. This was our first time in Argentina and we felt immediately comfortable with our stay and the wonderful people we met!

Śniadania są bardzo ubogie, co było dużym zaskoczeniem, ponieważ byliśmy w wielu hotelach. Nie polecamy również kolacji w hotelowej restauracji. Była zimna i niesmaczna.

- Aussienando (10/5): Brilliant place to stay with exceptional service from the team - This is the best location to stay in Buenos Aires. Right in the heart and soul of San Telmo it's brilliant. Great vibe too. (And if you arrive on a Sunday, just be aware the market is on right outside the hotel so your taxi can't bring you to the door.) Rooms are a great size. The hotel is whisper quiet despite being in such an amazing location. Shower pressure and hot water great. Lovely atrium in the middle of the hotel giving light to all the rooms. Bar and restaurant on the lower ground floor. A beautiful boutique experience elevated by Jeronimo Pascual Mato at the front desk. Jeronimo emailed me with professionalism, and warmth — in both Spanish and English - before arrival. His restaurant and show recommendations were spot-on, and meeting him in person felt like reconnecting with an old friend. He made our entire stay truly special.

The bed is comfortable and the shower was the best one we had in the whole of Argentina! The breakfast was not great and not a lot of options so if I was to return I wouldn’t get breakfast included. If you are staying on the ground floor, you cannot use the air conditioning so our room was very hot. They did give us a fan to help which was nice

- mprice1988 (6/5): So so - I spent two nights here and was a little disappointed. The place is very dark. The rooms are industrial but a bit try hard. Lack of lights! Breakfast was simple but tasty. Wouldn’t pay for it though. The area of San Telmo was very quiet until Sunday where it really comes alive. I moved to a hotel in Palermo after two days and had a much better time. It’s not a bad hotel, just don’t think it warrants its price tag

The best part is the location. Very central, right in the middle of San Telmo. The area is safe, even though it is very crowded, specially during the weekends. The staff is very attentive, happy, and always ready to assist. The breakfast is small but good; Lauran and Veronica, were always very friendly in the mornings. The place in general is clean, and the bed is very comfortable. Overall, great!

The staff was friendly and helpful at all times, and the breakfast was warm and welcoming, (Veronica and Laura do a great job.) Its prime location in Plaza Dorrego offers great nearby dining and entertainment options, including free Tango displays. I highly recommend it.
