Carla (4/5): - Uncomfortable beds. Dirty bedspreads. No one at front desk. I thought to be quite pricey for the poor quality. Advise an airbnb instead. Won't go back here ever! Location was excellent however... shops, food, beach, market.
Nancy (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay at the Lakeside Motor Lodge. Our room was very basic, but comfortable. Definitely a no-frills motel, but it was very clean and welcoming.

Julie (8/5): - Rusted shower curtain pole and rings in cabin 10. doors to bedroom and bathroom need a good paint job, many scuff marks and stains. Walls in sitting area need washed or painted, more dark scuff marks and stains. Otherwise enjoyed our stay. Pool area with hot tub kept pristine!

First Time visiting Port Austin and moving forward Lakeside Motor lodge will be a yearly vacation. Couldn't have been a better trip.

Jessica (6/5): - My stay was good, but had a few bumps. In short, the broken toilet seat needs to be replaced. You sit, you get pinched. Secondly, the faded cottage numbers need to be a little more visible or even marked on front by the door. My second day I got back from a beach day to a neighbor inside my cottage saying I was at the wrong cottage. He swore mine was his, until he walked around to look at the cottage number facing the street. Those little adjustments would’ve made the stay closer to five stars.
Stacie (10/5): - We LOVED this place to stay. Yes, the rooms are small and could use a little update, but, the ease of check-in, close proximity to everything, and the POOL! THE POOL! It is beautiful, perfect, comfortable chairs... just perfect. I hope to stay at this motel again next summer. Absolutely loved it.
Verified traveler (10/5): Nice Pace - It wasn't really fancy; it was just a normal place. We stayed on the second level. You have to carry your luggage up the stairs The view overlooks the pool and in the distance Lake Huron which is just a short walk away. The room only has a small fridge no microwave. coffee is available at the office. the room was comfortable, queen sized bed, table with two chairs and tv above the dresser. No designated parking area and we parked on the street.

michelle (6/5): Thumb getaway - It was a good place, great location, needs some tlc, looks like they have been improving, if your looking for a reasonably priced place to stay its great, if your looking for a big squishing bed, not it the bed was very uncomfortable, no coffee provided there was a small 4 cup maker, which had mold growth from left over coffee grounds luckily there was a small local store across the street to buy filters and coffee , its not a bad place to stay.
Michael (10/5): Overnight - It was nice for the night. No amenities like coffee maker or microwave but it did have a fridge. It was nice. Only downfall was the wifi was terrible.

Jan (10/5): - Location! Location! Location!!! We stayed in one of the single bed cottages. Don’t judge a book by its cover because when we walked inside, we were pleasantly surprised to find a fully renovated studio like apartment, and it was sparking clean. Tiny, but it had everything we needed. I must say, the reason to come “up north” to Lake Huron so I was surprised how many people were using the pool (very clean and nice) instead of the beach, one block away. Would absolutely stay here again!

If you can get by with no continental breakfast and rooms that could be updated This place sits in the center of town "Port Austin" with a great piece of property, set up like a courtyard with an big outdoor pool, firepit, a quick walk to all the stores and the pier. Best place to stay in Port Austin.

Susan (10/5): - We brought our grandsons here for the a night while taking them on a four day tour of the thumb. We wish we had the time to stay another night. Our room was conveniently located on the first floor. The pool area was nice and clean. Convenience of having the grocery store across the street came in handy a few times during the day. Will definitely come back to stay a little longer.
John (10/5): - The room was very clean!! The pool was in excellent shape, cleaned every day. Would definitely go there again. The location was perfect. Close to food drink and the lake.
Bradley (8/5): - This property is in a great location with restaurants, shopping and the Port Austin harbor less than a 5-minute walk. The rooms aren’t fancy but they are clean and comfortable. They have a beautiful pool and grassy area with multiple grills and picnic tables. The fire pit is awesome for an evening campfire.

Verified traveler (6/5): Value for money NOT - Considering the price, I expected better. No housekeeping, no phone or clock, no tissues, no channel guide. Bathroom door had all the veneer peeling off. It was just a hollow-core door...wouldn't cost much to replace. Lobby not attended...must call for service. Parking near our room was limited and not in good repair. In fact, downright dangerous. Certainly not good for handicapped. Motel was conveniently located.
Verified traveler (6/5): - Rooms were very small. There was a nice swimming pool, but we did not get a chance to use it--not the motel's fault. Price was too high for a very small room with 2 beds. "Lakeside" did not mean the motel was near or within view of the lake. It was 2 blocks off the lake. I thought I read that the hotel had breakfast, but it did not. Also, I read from Expedia that check-in was between 3:30 and 6:30, so we rushed to get to the motel. But the front desk person said we could check in anytime--even very late.

Verified traveler (8/5): Walk to beach! - It’s a typical up north no frills; I mean absolutely no frills kinda place. Clean, warm pool, great campfire, walk to beach. Quaint and welcoming.

The deadbolt very loose I that I can even sleep, one of the windows was open that I didn’t notice until about 1:00 am, I kept loosing the key because the key chain had a open ring I put a ring on the key chain, 3% extra if you pay with credit card.
Elbert (8/5): Port Austin - The stay was good. The hotel was right in town and a short walk to beach, gift shops and restaurants.
JenA. (6/5): - I liked that it was walking distance from the water, restaurants, the market, coffee shops, and ice cream shops. I didn't like that there was no one there to greet us when we arrived. I had to use the phone to call to check in. The key to our room was left on the counter with my first and last name on the key. I also went back to the main office and had to call to request for more toilet paper and towels. I was told to go behind the desk to a cabinet and get the toilet paper and towels out from under it. The pool didn't seem to be heated and the property was run down. The steps were lose and there was glass around the picnic tables. The door to our bathroom was cracked and peeling, the towel rack was broken, and the cords to the TV and Refrigerator were out in the open and had to be moved around to fit luggage in the "closet" area.

The location was amazing, we could walk to marina , there was a beach close by and a great long jetty to walk on. Rode our bikes around town. It was an okay place to put our stuff and sleep while we spent most of our time exploring Port Austin
Jimpolonis (2/5): - No phone in room; no ice bucket; no lamp in room on bedside table; no coffee pot in room; the towels were rough and old; carpet needed cleaning; bedspread had food stains; the door lock was hard to open with the key; other occupants loud all night till 3am...couldnt get to sleep. Poor sound baffels inbetween wall because you could hear people arguing and coughing next door. We will never stay there again. We cancelled the second day.
