Guest Reviews
- Doris (10/5): - Close to where I was going. Right beside a Sheetz store.
- Boris (10/5): -
- Don (10/5): - Very nice place to get away from the busy-ness.
- Christal (8/5): - Not offered
- Neil E. (8/5): - There was no ice machine. Great location but noisy,
Good value
- James (6/5): - Good value. Room was clean and I could park right out the front door. Great for one night. No Frills.
- James (10/5): - Great place to stay, very clean, friendly, and efficient staff, amazing price. Its a convenient location about 1 mile off the interstate, and on the main road through Front Royal to the skyline area. Best place to stay in Front Royal unless you want to pay $200 or more.
- Dawid (10/5): Great place - I had a very pleasant stay at Relax Inn. The room was clean, the staff was extremely friendly, and the amenities were very good. Overall, I am really satisfied with my experience and would definitely recommend this place to others.
- mark (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were very clean and well attended to. Would stay again .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff. Good value for the price
- James (10/5): - Clean, and nice rooms, friendly staff
- James (10/5): - Great price, very clean, amazing staff, lots of food and shopping options very close. Unless you want to spend 3x what you would here, this is the best place to stay in front royal.
- Lynette (8/5): - We were able to back right up against our door. The room was nice and clean, bed was comfortable. They have taken a lot of care in maintaining the property--beautiful flowers everywhere. It is older but well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would use it again, if in that area.
- Delores (6/5): - The bed was lumpy not too comfortable
- Yuriy (2/5): - Multiple reasons why Indian owned hotels are badly taken care off.
- Luke (10/5): - Clean, quiet and convenient. Check in process was quick and easy, with the very friendly and helpful staff. I would absolutely stay here again.
- Robin (8/5): - It fit the Travelocity rating and reviews perfectly. The bed was comfortable, the room very clean, the water hot with good pressure and the staff friendly. As I was only sleeping there the decor was not a factor and the price was much lower than I usually pay. Next time I visit my sister I will choose it again.
- Virginia (8/5): - The owner and wife went out of their way to provide directions upon my arrival. The room was clean and in order. A smoker was next door- smell of smoke somehow entered my room, continued through out the night!
- Marvin (10/5): - Nice clean room. Would recommend for a short stay
- Shamun (10/5): A concise review - Good staff, clean room, safe location, good breakfast.
- Robert (8/5): Friendly - Acceptable dull room a bit far out without a car
- ROBERT (6/5): - Rated 8.2 on Travelocity. I’d say a 6 at best. Was cheap and clean
- Sarah (10/5): Clean and comfortable - The Relax Inn is a locally-owned budget motel, perfectly adequate for a night’s lodging. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable with pleasant staff. Would stay again.
- Rose (10/5): - Quiet, comfortable, and secure.
Personable staff.
- David (10/5): - Lovely couple running this motel. Very friendly and accommodating. Gave us great suggestions on where to look for dining possibilities, and we enjoyed a Peruvian meal. Comfortable and clean. No special channels on TV, but we were in the area for a sad family occasion, so no big deal. Hostess gave me a bucket of ice which kept cold in the refrigerator. My only suggestion for improvement would be to buy some real glass glasses. I'm always appalled by single use plastic and did not enjoy unwrapping each one and discarding yet more plastic. Would stay here again for certain, however, and recommend highly.
- Philip (10/5): - Love this place!
- Alan (6/5): - It had the necessary stuff to enjoy your stay. The room was a bit tight and things were a bit dated. Don't expect fancy at this simple old school motel.
- Dan (8/5): - Stag was excellent
- Deborah L (6/5): - An old motel that has been revamped. Inside and out side of the property is not as clean as what I like. I would not stay here again.
- PeggyLynn (8/5): - The management was super helpful. We had concerns about internet and wifi service and they took us to the actual room to check it out! The beds were very comfortable and the refrigerator actually had a freezer section. Our problem was the noise and cigarette smoke. Construction workers stayed over us and walked heavily, getting up much earlier than we planned to do. Although there is no smoking in the rooms, the smokers stood outside our room - the ashtray was there so that was probably the reason. Unfortunately, the smoke smell comes right into our room. On top of that, there was no ice or vending machines so we had to go out to find these items. These issues will probably deter a future stay, despite the wonderful management.
- Richard (10/5): - Ok
- Vignesh (4/5): - Booked room with one queen and received a room with two double bed. Non smoking room but the room didn't appear to be one. Toilet was not cleaned before giving us the room during check in.
- Dan (8/5): - Centrally located in town
- carl (10/5): - Convenient very reasonable price
- Albert (10/5): - Old hotel but very clean
- Mary Jean (8/5): - Clean, quiet room and friendly, helpful staff.
- Alex (6/5): - Guide listing and actual channel ID's did not correlate. Refrigerator inside room had overflowing water tray under freezer section, which was empty.
- Jefferson (10/5): - Nice room
- Jack (10/5): - Friendly good hospitality
- Elizabeth (10/5): Good for an overnight stay - Needed an overnight stay for a family event nearby. The Relax Inn Motel was great, clean, had a mini-fridge to keep cold drinks plus a ton of TV channels. If I'm back in that area, I would stay there again.
- Philip (10/5): Best deal in town - I always try to stay here. The proprietor is friendly and accommodating (last time he even lowered the already low price since, he said, the price had come down about ten dollars since I booked online about a month earlier. The rooms and floors are always clean and tidy. It's location is central and convenient, and the rice is definitely good.
- Magdalena (6/5): - After staying for one night, I understood the reason there was only 189 reviews ("very good"??). On the positive, the linens were cleaned and the bed was comfortable.
Now for the negative, the property was 17 minutes out of the way. The coffee maker, the microwave, and the bathroom sink faucet (had soap scum) were dirty. And, the property was older and it showed especially in the bathroom. Although, the aqua color wall paint and stylish bed set helped some.
In conclusion: paying $75/night was too much for this property. I felt I was staying in a $50 range motel.
- Leslie (10/5): - Clean, unpretentious. Perfect for a short overnight.
- Philip (10/5): An overlooked jackpot. - I've stayed here before and like it. In Front Royal there seem to be few options between high end expensive hotels and cheap seedy ones. This motel is clean, nice, with great service and isn't expensive. The managers are a delightful couple who are kind and accommodating. There are no 'frills' like an included breakfast, but if you aren't looking for that, this is a fine motel at a real deal.
- paul (10/5): - easy to navigate Front Royal, staff very helpful
- Jay (4/5): - During a family reunion I had to travel 20 minutes down to the hotel to check my son and his family in because we used my credit card to pay for the hotel. It was very inconvenient. They had no Venmo or Paypal and insisted the card holder be present. In this day and age, you would think they could have made it more convenient.
- Regina (8/5): - Overall nice stay.
- Bradley (8/5): - No frills. Basic accommodation. Just what a quick trip for business needs. Beds and pillows were firm and comfortable. Nice sized refrigerator held two 1 gallon jugs of water with plenty of room for leftover food. A nice table and chairs to conduct a quick meeting was a great touch. I come to the area often and I’ll keep this at the top of my list.
- Gary (10/5): Good value for an overnight stop - Clean and friendly for a quick overnight stop.
- Keith (10/5): - Nice clean property. Front desk, very pleasant and helpful
- Randal (6/5): - Needs a lot of upgrading
- Robert (8/5): - Have stayed at this property 3 times while visiting the area in the fall. It’s a good location and convenient to restaurants and gas stations. The property is clean and quiet and the people at the office are great.
- Armand (10/5): - The rooms were clean. They weren't fancy like more expensive places, but it was good. The heat and air conditioner were in great condition, better than some of the more expensive places we stayed in the past. The staff was really pleasant and helpful.
- Michele (10/5): - wonderful.. if I come through again this is where I'm staying
- Sharon (10/5): - Everything was fine. The person at check in was excellent.
- Jeremy (8/5): - Nice hotel for the price
- Philip (10/5): A GREAT place to stay at a GREAT price! - The high level of service, cleanliness, and functionality of everything in this wonderful motel were a pleasant surprise! The owners are personable and solicitous of any request for assistance in any matter (not that any was needed). I stayed in a nearby motel on a previous trip and was disappointed at the lack of cleanliness, the presence of cigarette burns in the sheets, etc. By contrast, Relax Inn was wonderful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): quiet, clean, modestly priced - Clean room. Bathtub could use a stopper. Very accommodating with in/out times.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Goof job! - Older property but well maintained. Friendly, helpful staff.
- Tom (8/5): - The hotel manager was very accommodating.
the first room we went to smelled smoky to us and he quickly gave us another better smelling room with no questions asked!!
- Constantin (8/5): - .
- Maximilian (4/5): - Mattress sheets and pillows were all stained and gross, no channels to watch on the tv
- Bernice (10/5): Graduation - Great
- Ronald (8/5): - No coffee
- steve (10/5): Great motel - I have stayed here before on many occasions. This time it was late. Easy check in. 2 gas stations with food and drink. Was quiet and clean
- Eric (8/5): - Room was clean and staff was friendly.
The road in front of the hotel was very busy and getting in and out of the parking lot took quite a while. However, at night it was fairly quiet. My room was close to the road end of the building and only cars and trucks that were loud were heard in the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean room. Nice bed. Nice staff. The road outside is loud but that's not the fault of the Motel.
- J Mark (8/5): - I have tried 2 other budget motels in Front Royal and this one was the best of them. It has been "remodeled" in the year or so, however the room I was in was already showing some wear. Please note: no phone in room, heat A/C range is 68 -74. My room was close to the highway so a lot of sound from that. For the price I would stay here again.
- Mike (10/5): - The lady at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant!
- Sally (8/5): - Traveling through the area, this was perfect for us. This little no-frills place was super clean, quiet and comfortable. The sweet lady who checked us in is so nice, and made us feel very welcomed. We’ve stayed in many full-service places that weren’t half as good as this one!
- Joseph (10/5): Great - Nice room, very comfortable. Centrally located to practically everything I needed.
- Samuel (8/5): - Wonderful service!
- Shamane (10/5): - This hotel is a hidden gem! Well maintained, very clean, comfortable beds. This is an older property but well kept. No frills, but does have secured wifi, refrigerator and microwave in the room. Check-in was great! I have never been treated better or felt more welcomed than I was here. I would definitely recommend staying here and I will absolutely stay here again.
- Johnathan (10/5): - The room was impeccably clean and the staff/owners were extremely nice and helpful. I will definitely be back!
- James (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful for the price. The lady at the front desk was nice, the plants in the office were an incredible touch, the room was clean and smelled nice.
For a cheap place to stay, I would absolutely choose this again.
- janet (10/5): - Quiet, clean, comfy bed and pillows, nice staff. Good hot shower
- Jessica (8/5): No frills hotel but worth the money. - We were early, so we couldn’t check in. When we came back the lady had remembered me calling on the phone. She asked if we wanted to see the room before she ran the credit card through. Your room was clean, couldn’t find anything to complain about. It truly is the no-frills hotel. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, and it was very quiet.
- David (8/5): - You will need a car to go and get something to eat.
- Janette (10/5): - For the cheapest around, it was quite a surprise. Fresh smelling, crisp bed linens, decent sized table and chairs for eating a meal, ottoman to accommodate luggage. Good strong shower, plenty of hot water Felt safe, staff super helpful
- Alessandro (10/5): - My wife and me had a pleasant stay. Very clean and comfortable.
- Gary (6/5): - Showing its age, but OK.
- J Mark (10/5): - I have stayed 3 times at budget motels in Front Royal and this is by far the best one (remember I am rating this as a budget motel.) I liked the hard surface floors, much cleaner that carpet. Lady at desk was very nice, As mentioned above this is a budget hotel so you will have some construction workers stay here. However it was quite during my visit.
- Carmen (8/5): - .
- Kyle (10/5): Very clean, very nice - The room was very clean. It showed some signs of wear, but everything worked great, and the check-in process was super easy. They were so nice.
- Graham (10/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): - Very clean and the staff was very friendly. Area a bit noisy.
- Laura (8/5): - Super friendly….very accommodating. This is a family run motel. The rooms are big & the beds comfy.
- Virginia (8/5): - Friendly service. The rooms were decent and AC rocked. Nothing fancy, but good price and happy motel experience.
- Jennifer (6/5): - For as old as the property was it wasn't in bad shape. Needed a deep cleaning. Walls were stained and towels were stained. Heater/air-conditioning unit was very dirty. Did not see any roaches so that's always good. Staff were nice and had a lot of plants in the office.
- Marsha (8/5): - A good choice for the price!
- Richard (4/5): - It's hard to believe the rating was accurate for this hotel. It was not horrible, but it is very old and run down. That said, the room was ok.
- Patrick (8/5): Nice little place - Wonderful check in. I was concerned that I had booked a smoking room by accident. I stressed this at check in. Despite the "no vacancy" sign, I was given three room keys to try. This was very kind and unexpected. Bed is a little hard for my taste. Great location. From a distance, the room looks great but upon closer inspection, it is a little worn. But this issue pales next to all the positives this cute little hotel has to offer. Right next to a Sheetz so super convenient. Would stay again!
- Tracy (6/5): - Good: very friendly proprietor; fun little deck next to parking lot where we had beers and chatted with another motel guest.
Not-so-good: no coffee maker in room (when we asked front desk for a coffee maker we were given one that didn’t work - we gave up and got coffee from gas station next door); only one chair in a room with two guests.
This was not a bad experience. We got what we paid for and if we ever come back to this area we would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The motel looks clean but the strong scent of sanitizing chemicals made me feel like I was in a public restroom. I was so dying to go anywhere just to kill time so I didn't have to be in the room except just to sleep. I didn't feel comfortable to eat in that room for sure. The floor could be mopped so the bottom of my feet didn't have to turn black within a few steps.
- Lisa (6/5): - It was just ok. Not great. Needed some cleaning and definitely a remodel. Very dated. I mean 70's looking furniture. I would not spend a vacation at this location but it's ok for overnight.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Reasonably well maintained older building, clean, quiet, comfortable.
- Randy (6/5): friendly people. tired motel. - could be cleaner. stains on sheets. place needs an upgrade.
- Lee (10/5): Going the extra mile, doing what is right. - We arrived late in the day, manager met me at the office door, explained to me that he had no king bed rooms on the ground floor. He gave us a room with 2 double beds on the ground floor, he and his wife were pleasant, friendly and helpful, I lost some personal property during taking our luggage into the room, they helped me find it. This is an example of a motel manager going the extra mile to be accommodating to travelers. He also thanked me for being a veteran.
- Keith (10/5): Highly Recommend! - Excellent Facilty and Staff! Very comfortable and clean! Would definitely recommend this for anyone to enjoy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Just what we needed. Sleep. Ride the Skyline Drive. Sleep.
