• Jaxon (4/5): Average. Good service, won’t stay again. - The room was clean and the hotel was nice. The staff were all friendly and nice. The hotel was right next to a train line and didn’t have sound proof room so noises from outside and trains all night and day prevented me from sleeping.
• Romain (7/5): Etablissement sans chaleur - Le restaurant en rooftop. Un dîner à 15 euros digne d'un très bon restaurant en Europe avec concert d'un groupe local de qualité (pop/rock). Très bon petit déjeuner (buffet très complet) avec un personnel ici au petit soin. Un accueil mitigé. Notamment pour obtenir des informations sur l'excursion à Tumpak Sewu (2 demandes à ce jour sans retour). Un massage décevant. Une masseuse pas très présente dans son massage (le portable sur la table de massage parfois allumé). 45 min au lieu d'une heure. Piscine sans âme. La musique à l'accueil est très sympathique mais dans les étages l'est moins car on l'entend dans les chambres. A cela s'ajoute les klaxonnes des trains.

• Max (3/5): Niet hygiënisch, wel goed geholpen door het personeel - Locatie naast het station was top. Restaurant boven met uitzicht over de stad was erg leuk. Vriendelijk personeel De kamer was vies. Er liepen kleine beestjes over de muur. Badkamer was ook niet schoon.
• Dimitri (9/5): Zeer mooi hotel aan een zeer deftige prijs. De rooftopbar (and eat) is zeer sterk aan te raden. - De vriendelijkheid en bereidwilligheid van het personeel. Het hotel is aan een treinstation gelegen waardoor je wel wat overlast kan ondervinden. Dit weet je natuurlijk wel op voorhand als je de ligging van het hotel bekijkt.
• eilander (6/5): Prima verblijf voor die prijs als je op doortocht bent - Bed lag goed en het zwembad was ruim. Personeel is erg vriendelijk. Ontbijt was niet erg lekker. De kamer was echt super gehorig dus je hoort alles om je heen. Je zit naast de trein dus die hoor je de hele nacht. Wij hadden toevallig ook veel muziek in het gebouw toen we daar verbleven. Het gebouw is ook een beetje vervallen, er zat in onze kamer bij het raam een gat, ongeveer zo groot als een tennisbal.

Hotel should promote location next to Malang Kotalama station 1km south (before, arr from Yogyakarta) main station Malang. Get off train here! Oh. Did I mention the staff? They are great. A hotel is only as good as its staff. Management needs to address various safety and cleaning matters. This hotel could SO EASILY be really exceptional.
• ggutt1939 (10/5): Happy Holiday in MALANG - I spent 9 nights at this hotel and had a great time.The staff under the guidance of mr jacob were excellent and made my holiday a pleasure.This hotel has a large comfortable lobby excellent seating and a movement activated escalator an excellent breakfast dining area It also has a 9th floor dining area with some western meals.The management showed there forward thinking.As there were no Mini Marts close by the management built and opened an Alfamart attached to the hotel.A special mention to the front office staff who made my stay a Wonderful adventure

• Alan (9/5): Good one night stay. - This was the first time my wife and I had stayed at this hotel. We were really pleased with it. Good staff. Breakfast was very good, plenty of things to eat. Nice swimming pool (my wife likes to have a swim in the morning) We would have no problems with staying here again when we are in Malang. Cannot think of anything that we did not like. It's easy to find fault, but we had no problems.

So a handyman came to fix the safe and a cleaner to clean again. In the end it was okay. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The room was clean the bed was so comfortable and it will be memorable moment to stay there Needed more signboard to assist to the coffee shop nearby but after all everything was perfect.
• Luuk1999We (2/5): Lot of dust, human hair, noisy room with traingd passing. Avoid this hotel.. - Would NOT recommend for Western tourists. Not worth the price, choose another hotel in this city. This hotel clearly is not used to western tourists or familiar with them and their standards, worst hotel I have seen in 9 years of travelling. Front side looks like an unfinished shopping mall, entrance via unfinished parking garage.Wifi didnt work. Due to its location close to the railway, every 10 minutes a loud honking of passing trains comes into your room, also in the evening breaking your sleep. Positive things; some of the employees were friendly, breakfast was ok, view from top restaurant on city is nice. Then the issues; -Our first room had a stuck toilet. Which we found out ourselves. We also found other defects in this room like filthy windows, wall stickers that peel of, a front door that is not closing well and really high amounts of dust. We paid extra 200.000 for early check-in. After an hour we got a new room, this one was even more bad; human hairs in the bed, weird brown flakes in the shower, fresh stains in the duvet, and also a lot of dust. It was solved by staff afterwards, but this can all NEVER be the case in a "4 star" hotel. Pillows are hard, also some gaps in window frame. Then the dinner we got upstairs in Napa eatery. Drinks ok, main dishes not good not bad. But we ordered Fries with truffel. Then got normal Fries without any topping. Got back to staff after finding one in 15 minutes, they said it was only truffel oil that was included. I looked at the menu and found parmezan cheese and aioli should be included. I got to staff again, and they accidently (lets assume it is..) changed mind, and we got new Fries. As a desert, we had the ironic ("Western style creme brulee"), picture attached. The pudding was hard and smelled like few weeks old, not crunchy. This dinner was not worth its service charge. Avoid this hotel. In western countries it would not even get 1 star, i've seen also lot better places in Indonesia.

The rooftop bar & restaurant is so relaxing after being out touring the beautiful Malang attractions . The pool is large & clean & the breakfast would have to be the best in java .Jacob the manager runs a smart hotel with all the staff so friendly. We will be back Everything was just right .Probably a bit more hot water .

Excellent restaurant on the ninth floor. Very busy with children - made the room quite noisy. No extra towels for the pool so had to use the two towels in our room. The restaurant on the ground floor was sub-par.

I have a good view which is the swimming pool. Met the Manager Yacob Nainggolan and had a very pleasant conversation. He ensure I have the best experience in Ascent Premiere. One of the best hotel I've known so far. Definitely stay here again each time I go to Malang. Thanks Ascent!

Got free breakfast with quite complete selection. Will stay again if I go malang. Quite in city Centre and easy to go around from this hotel. Just next to the old malang train station too!

I could not get their attention to order dessert despite their only being one other table occupied. Paid and left after 5 minutes when they were attending to a new arrival. They told us they'd inform us once the second room was ready but they never called us. We had to call the reception again to check the status of the room. - The owner and or management of this hotel have let this hotel into disrepair. They have closed the main escalators that was supposed to be the main entrance to get into the hotel. The interior of the hotel also looked worn and not maintained, everything fell apart and dirty. - Very noisy surrounding as it's located next to a train station.

• marleycat21 (6/5): No thanks - Luckily we were only here for one night. The first impression of the hotel was good. The reception area was clean and airy and the breakfast area looked lovely, especially as part of it is out in the open ( I later found out that this is where the smokers sit, so had to have breakfast inside). Our room was right next to the train station, and while the trains did not disturb us the announcements did. Our room also overlooked the pool and main road. The bedding in our room was grubby and so were the towels, my towel looked as though someone had used it to wipe their dirty feet on. We had no hanging space or cupboard, just 2 coat hangers to put our clothes on.

• BangDave (4/5): Unexpected Experience - I was fascinated by the hotel pictures on the website and one of the travel apps but it didn't match expectations. Hotel location next to the flyover and the train station and you can here when train come. I waited long enough without being reprimanded by the hotel receptionist. There was only one person on duty in the afternoon when I arrived. You can hear any activities outside your room and is a annoying for me. The road to the room is not good because the carpet looks unkempt and uneven. I had breakfast around 9 am but almost all the food was gone and when I asked for it to be refilled, it took the hotel staff a long time to come out with additional food. The only thing I like is the atmosphere of the restaurant which is very natural.

It is extremely noisy, due to the chants coming out of the loud speaker from the next door mosque starting at 3am and again at 5am, as well as the various trains that run throughout the day and night blowing their horns. We could not get much sleep as a result of this. The neighborhood was extremely chaotic. It takes a very long time and huge amount of daring to cross the street in there. I once had to pay someone to run out with a sign and stop traffic. The site indicates that there is a bar, but this is deceptive, because they do not serve alcohol (only "mocktails")

• MaryamS922 (2/5): Very dirty hotel - I stayed here one night, don’t rely on the photos on the hotel’s website that shows amazing rooms. The rooms are dirty and the bathroom is full of molds. The hotel is two hour drive from the domestic airport but it’s walking distance to the train station. Very low quality and super dirty rooms.
• 772alexanderg (4/5): Good first impression bad second, third ...... - We used this hotel near the station for a one night stopover, and regretted it. The lobby was attractive and when we entered the room it looked quite large with a big bed, but with a shabby feel. Then the problems started. I went to make tea, but one mug had mysterious stains in the bottom so I caaled housekeeping for a replacement. None came so I called again and eventually two lightly stained cups arrived. My wife went for a shower and the controller came away in her hand! The shower door was flimsy and extremely difficult to open and close. Then she looked for a hairdrier. None. Apparently you have to call housekeeping to get one delivered for a maximum of 3 hours - good luck with that. We decided on room service. The menu included bintang beer, but no I couldn’t have any. No explanation, just not available. The food took quite a while and arrived lukewarm. Then there was the usual early morning call to prayers accompanied by loud train whistles ensuring no lie in. Not tecommended.
• FRD1410 (6/5): Best location to the southern and old Malang city - The room is clean and good, but it is not convenient regarding the pillow. The breakfast is nice, variety of javanese food The location is good, especially if you want to visit southern malang and around old Malang. and the best thing is this hotel is integrated with the train station. The view from the window of the room is very beautiful in the morning

• Hani (8/5): Jadwal check-in tidak sesuai dengan web - Di web site terltulis bisa check in 24 jam, tetapi realisasinya baru bisa booking setelah jam 14:00
• Pekka (8/5): Very nice hotel in a bit awkward environment - Nice new hotel 2 km from centre of Malang, in residential area with no services or places of interest. Transport to centre by taxi, angkot or walking. Modern clean room with good bed and shower, working wifi and a/c. Good Asian buffet breakfast; on 9th floor rooftop bar and restaurant with city vews. Nice big pool. Instead of daily bottled water hotel could offer possibility for water refill. Staff is very friendly and efficient.
• Chandra (8/5): Nice good value new hotel - It is a nice new budget hotel. Real value for the price. The only downside is the location, which is next to train station. Although the noise is minimal, it does have a ghetto feel to it.
• Liauw Lois (8/5): Good, pleasant, and comfort hotel - The room is spacious enough and very comfort for our little family. The furniture is new and in good condition. Shower, air con works well. The pool (M floor) is clean and fun, also the kids pool. From pool area, we can see train passing by behind the hotel. The only i complaint about is, i have to wait so long for check-in. The receptionist looks like very busy and can't focus on me. Maybe because the hotel got so many guest that day (new year). I also have to wait again when i ask them to set my bed. The breakfast is so-so, just a few choices of food. But overall, i like the hotel, the room, the swimming pool. And the location beside train station can be advantage too if you traveling by train.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything is great except rooms is not soundproof, sound from other rooms can wake you up in early morning...
• Naismith (8/5): NOT near the main train station - This hotel is far off the beaten path and not in a walkable spot--you will need to take a taxi everywhere, and there is a minimum on on any taxi ride. The picture implies it is next to a train station, which it is--but NOT the main train station. Most modern trains do not stop there. So plan on travel time to anywhere you want to go. The road in front of the hotel is divided with concrete barrier, so it is much faster to get to town, longer to get to the hotel.
