Guest Reviews
- Olivia (9/5): Nice apartment style rooms with kitchen central location lovely staff good price all round great place to stay for Uber - Nice grounds pool and spacious rooms Nothing
- Daniela (9/5): - This accommodation is very good overall. It is clean and well maintained, and the location is central, making it easy to walk to nearby shops and restaurants.
There is still some room for small improvements, but overall it is a clean and comfortable place to stay.

- Gabriela (10/5): Peaceful and cozy stay - Very nice and quiet place, the staff is super attentive. Easy access to a lot of different restaurants and shops.

- Maria Elena (8/5): - Es amplio y la villa es bonita
Bien localizado La ducha funcionaba mal
Había muchas hormigas dentro de la habitación

- Saed (5/5): - It’s location. I felt like there wasn’t privacy. People were too loud at night and very early in the morning.

- Karsten (8/5): Schön aber teilweise nervig laut - Alles Die Baustelle nebenan

- Gary (9/5): It was great value, but my room didn’t have a tv. And they kept forgetting to leave new clean towels. - Beautiful in all ways ! The pool was perfectly adequate.
- laure (7/5): Le séjour a été agréable - En plein centre d UbudEt en même temps en retrait de la route au calme Nous devions avoir une suite grâce au surclassement que nous n’avons pas eu.
- Trijanti (6/5): -
- Kseniia (2/5): Stay away - Nice garden, good location: central but away from the noise The experience was a bit of a nightmare. I stayed in the room with kitchen. On like 5th day of my stay when I came back to my room the window in the kitchen was wide open and the lights were on with clear indications that someone went through my stuff and through drawers. Luckily I didn’t leave any valuables laying around on that day. Still: creepy feeling. Upon questioning stuff on what happened as I didn’t t have any cleaning request on that day and anyway room wasn’t cleaned, but someone was there and left a huge window open, they said there is no CCTV at exactly my room entry (it covers other rooms but not this one),and also there is no key for the kitchen door for me to at least be able to lock it to feel safer. The window is as tall as a human with no guard and you can literally step out of it without needing to jump. I had a conversation with a manager explaining my wish to get a refund for the rest of the days booked and to move out. He communicated in a very aggressive and disrespectful way. At least I managed to move the room to a smaller room without kitchen. I’ve traveled the world for the past 15 years non stop and it’s the second time staying in Bali for two months and I have never encountered such a situation and such unprofessional and disrespectful treatment on top of that. I would recommend to not stay here, or to at least not book a room with a kitchen.

- McLauchlan (8/5): - Beautiful, quiet location. Ubud gets very noisy with all the traffic these days but you wouldn't know it from being nicely set back from the street and surrounded by nice buildings and nature. The staff were absolutely lovely. There's no exhaust fans in the bathrooms so mould in there is an issue. We had two rooms, one was newer so the mould hadn't started yet (but will eventually due to no ex. fan) and the older room we had down the back had ceiling damage and black mould established. While the price was good and we were lucky with the last minute booking. We shouldn't expect black mould anywhere. A shame as almost everything else was great.
- Teresa Kali (7/5): If they improved the service and WiFi, we would definitely stay here again. - Beautiful surroundings. Quiet. Inconsistent service. Forgetful staff sometimes when it came to new towels, toilet paper etc.
The WiFi didn’t work half the time.
- JIN JIE (7/5): - Close to Plataran for seminar. Need to borrow hair dryer again and again. The breakfast sucks, dont get it.
- Catriona (9/5): A nice place very central - In a great location and very quiet
- Olivia (5/5): It was a good price but wouldn’t come again as there was more negatives than positives - Pool was lovely and room spacious We were not allowed to check in until 7pm because our room wasn’t ready! Shower was super low down that you can’t stand underneath it:/
I like to clean the air condition filters and oh my gosh! It was the dirtiest I had ever seen! I ran a bath and the water was brown.
- Nisha (10/5): I like the spiritualily and the ritual the staff follow to pray and the energy of the hotel is so positive and peaceful. - Staff is so friendly, location is very beautiful and it is value for money as the cottage is so spacious and comfortable thank you Everything is good so far
- Richard (7/5): My mostly good stay - The property is beatiful and in a nice location. Quiet as is setback from the road. Room is sleek with a nice balcony. Two things here. Beds are like sleeping on a rock. Not just the hardness we associate with Asian, but honestly like sleeping (or trying to) on rocks. Breakfast was included...it was ALWAYS cold. Cold eggs ugh!
- Niamh (8/5): Very good - The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was simple but lovely. The pool wasn’t allowed to be used for the majority of our stay which was a shame as it was one of the reasons we chose this.
- Bernice (5/5): Passable - The place was clean and well hidden from all the noise I was double charged for my stay and when I tried resolving with the accommodation they kept saying it’s not reflecting on their side yet booking.com was saying the card payment had reflected. Even today they have never sent an invoice for my cash payment so that I can get a refund. They don’t pick calls or respond to messages even from booking.com and I also tried resolving with them at the facility. So be aware of that.
If you need any help in the facility you’ll be stranded because the staff barely understand English that is why I had a hard time explaining my problem to them. Go there at your own risk. Even today I have never gotten any help.
- Oleksii (9/5): Superb -
- Carrie (9/5): Thanks the staff were friendly - Great location
- Carrie (9/5): Really enjoyed ourselves - Rooms were comfortable. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was a bit light on
- Andrea (9/5): Wonderful relaxing stay - Down a quiet peaceful path away from the traffic. It was a haven of peace.
Room was very clean, modern and bed comfortable. No umbrella at poolside so my legs got burnt.
Nasi goreng for breakfast had no spicy flavour.
- Thao (9/5): Good - The room is clean. The location is hidden gem from mainroad very quiet place. The staffs are so helpful and friendly No any hanger for clothes in bathroom and breakfast is so basic
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yseult (9/5): Superb - Lili Cottage is ideally situated down a little lane, in a tranquill spot, but within easy reach of all that Ubud offers: yoga, supermarket, fine restaurants, sightseeing.
- Svetlana (8/5): Very good -
- Julia (5/5): Nice for a 3 star hotel - Pool area is amazing, decent breakfast, loved quick laundry service Bed and pillows are much better in rooms with kitchens. Those rooms were empty, I asked to be moved to one of those rooms but I was rejected without extra payment. They used to be more friendly in that regard. AC was making lots of noise, next door Neighbours were loud.
- Andrea (10/5): Fantastic location to restaurants, shopping and Yoga Barn - Great location in Ubud for a solo traveller. Always felt safe even at night. I had a kitchen so it was great to cook a few simple meals. I stayed 30 days. Excellent value for money. Pool is spectacular. Clean and cool. Breakfast is delivered to your room. If you are wanting to go to the Yoga barn. Turn at Sally's kitchen for a shortcut. No pool towels but everything else is good.
- James (7/5): Good location, comfortable and clean stay - Close to town, very good price, property and gardens well kept. No restaurant so breakfast is brought to your room. Nice hot water and good water pressure Pool was green when we arrived
- Federico (9/5): Superb - The pool was big and super clean.
The staff was really friendly.
Very spacious room.
Good breakfast. The room had a kitchen but not cutlery at all (no silverware/glasses/plates/pans/cooking devices/ etc)
We asked for mugs at the reception and they kindly gave it to us, but I think the kitchen should be at least equipped with the basics.
- Kerri (4/5): Average - The grounds are great but some attention to detail could make Lili Cottage a great place to stay. It’s clean but don’t expect anything unless you ask for it. No bed change or fresh towels. I was staying for two and a half weeks in rainy season. Hot and humid. Staff reluctant.
I am sure if I didn’t ask, no change would occur. No pool towels. Also no refund if you change your mind about continuing your stay. The bed was noisy and there was only me in it! Noise every time I turned. Fortunately I do not move much in my sleep. Nothing was provided unless you asked for it. Basics provided only. No kettle. No fridge. My friend had no desk. Bed only.
I don’t expect amazingness for the price of Lili, but if you advertise certain amenities and then just provide them please. I should not have to ask for all basic things like a kettle.
- Svetlana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (5/5): Lacking in management - The house is set back off street in nice quiet location.
Breakfast was good.
Nice pool. Initially queried the room given, it stated i had a kitchenette in my booking, i was advised to use the "public kitchen". Staff said they would speak to management and let me know, nobody got back to me in the 3 days i was there. Water was only supplied on day 1,
There doesn't appear to be any management at the property which let's it down, hence the low score.
- Nassar (5/5): for a quick stop in the city fine, don’t expect much - - Central location
- new bathroom / room furnishing - room does not match booked room description
- staff unresponsive to complaints
- 0 privacy , you need to keep curtains closed all day for all ground floor rooms
- Isabella (7/5): Good -
- Miran (8/5): I was stay there for 10days for myself. mostly I really enjoyed a big space of the room. Good location, nice breakfast. - Lovely property specially swimming pool such a beautiful area and so quiet. Good location to go to Yoga Barn, good value of money, friendly staff. They changed the breakfast time at 6am for my yoga training and kept bags before check-in and check-out. House keeper cleaning the room every single day however, It is not 100% clean very where and It took me a while to communicate with the staff because their English was not good I had to asked them 3times to change bed sheet. There are many different kinds of ants, so if you don't handle food well, your room is more likely to stay with ants.
- Julia (9/5): All comforts I required with a comfortable bed, air-conditioning, private bath, close to Yoga Barn - The rooms are large with great airconditioning, a kingsize bed, a desk, and private bathroom. My room had a beautiful view! The staff is very kind and I even had laundry done for me. The property is located off the main road for privacy and quiet, but close to so many restaurants and shops. I walked everyday to The Yoga Barn and back. It is a short distance of about 5 minutes to the back entrance. It is right next to Monkey Forest and my favorite coffee shop called Fore. The airconditioning did freeze up one time as it was quite hot, but it was repaired by the time I returned for the evening. The staff was very accomodating for the duration of my 28 day stay.
- Lisette (9/5): A lovely, silent habitat. - The accommodation itself is amazing. I booked the room with kitchenette and pool view, which I’d definitely advise, because I stayed for 13 nights.
It’s basically an apartment with silence, beautiful private patio/terrace with fresh flora and fauna surrounding. (Hence: I was lucky to have no families with children around, otherwise it can get a bit loud in this pool-area).
The other rooms without pool view are most certainly less appealing in any way. The other rooms including breakfast are worth spending the extra money on! The area of Ubud (this is not Indonesia), but I needed to be there for work.. thankfully being back at the apartment, I forgot about the traffic and touristic decor in no time.
The kitchenette can be a bit better equipped, and the bathroom needs some freshening-up.
- Allyson (10/5): Exceptional - it was all very good.
breakfast could improve a bit
- Jeremy (10/5): Stunning little oasis in the centre of Ubud. Thank you for an amazing stay! - The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the room was super clean, quiet and easy to find. The price point was also very very affordable.
The pool area was calm and even the other guests were super friendly. I had a very relaxing time and was always greeted with a smile, thank you for making my stay comfortable. There isn’t anything bad to say about this place. It was perfect.
- Bex (6/5): Pleasant - Location was great. I had a room mix up. Staff communication was below average. Air con didn’t work and was dripping needed a full service. I didn’t have a lot of the amenities that said were provided and no compensation for this.
- Modjtaba (2/5): Very poor -
- Svetlana (8/5): Good value for money - Location is amazing and was very quite Aging toilets and showers, mattress was a bit too firm, pillows need replacement.
- Svetlana (8/5): Good value for money - The location is amazing The toilets and showers are aging, water supply is not steady.
- Jennifer (3/5): Very okay. Just that - It was clean It was all very bare minimum. Zero character. zero amenities. Zero effort.
- Kellie (2/5): Good location - facility below expectations - Location Beds are hard - no cutlery for self contained unit - no shower pressure
- Anna (3/5): Disappointing - I've stayed here before. It's a great location and the staff are very sweet, but their power to help is limited. I booked a superior room with a pool view, but on arrival, I was told they no longer had any pool rooms. I was not the only one. Another guest complained of the same thing. The room I stayed in was very nice, but not what I wanted, as there was no view / light, and the property offered no money back for the fact that I paid for a superior pool room and did not get it The bed was way too hard for me, so much so that I couldn't sleep on one night. I had already paid for x3 nights, so I stayed on. Otherwise, I would have left. The staff were unable to help me, other than to supply a very thin blanket to put on top, which did nothing. In the end, I was so desperate I dragged the cushion from the outside sofa and lay on that which was softer.
The room was also full of mosquitos, and there was no net. I killed at least 6 in the room but still got 8 bite on my feet during the night. I assume they may leave the doors open when servicing the room, as I had done a pretty thorough job of getting rid of them, and then there were more when I came back later.
I was also very disappointed that for x2 of my 3 days, the pool was out of order for cleaning. I ended up going to another resort to use their pool, which defeats the point.
In addition, the pool rooms have tv, whereas my room had nothing. No safe, no tv, no fridge.
All in all, I will not be staying here again.
- Goswami (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wannabreakfree (7/5): Great staff, property, and location - sadly wrong unit allocation upon arrival - The staff are fantastic. They are nice and understanding, and when we need anything they always try to help the best they can. The accommodation is lovely and quiet and worth the value. Unfortunately, upon arriving, we were not given the unit we originally booked, and it was a completely different room. I booked a Suite with a Pool view, and the photos are showing a kitchen in the unit I booked. My mom arrived first, and as she did not do the booking and not very tech savvy, she was confused but didn't ask much. I arrived much later in the night and realized the unit is not the one I booked for. I double checked again and talked to the staff about the issue and asked for a solution. They were very understanding and the next day moved us to the unit we actually booked for. It was unfortunate having to move for such a short stay.
I wouldn't be quick to blame the property, having currently work in the same industry. This could also be a mapping issue where the booking they received from Booking.com might not be reflected correctly on their system. If this is the case, my suggestion is for them to talk to Booking.com to make sure a similar issue doesn't happen again in the future. I would also suggest from their side to double check that guests booking from online travel agencies got the unit they booked, as advertised on the platform.
For guests, I'd advise double-checking with the staff via message prior to coming.
- Florina (8/5): Very good -
- Samantha (6/5): Ok but don’t expect any flexibility. - New. Good location. V poor customer service regarding trying to change my booking.
- Marta (10/5): Amazing stay next to the Yoga Barn - I couldn't have asked for better, I extended my stay for a total of two weeks. The property is beautiful, central and very close to the Yoga Barn, with a beautiful refreshing and quiet swimming pool far enough from the traffic of the centre. The room was very comfortable with a small, efficient kitchen. The best part is the staff composed of several young guys who are always helpful, hardworking and very kind, and who did everything they could to meet my needs. All perfect
- Mark (7/5): Not a bad option. - Pool area is nice and it’s a quiet setting. There’s no point to the kitchens as they have nothing at all in them. Breakfast is fairly minimal compared with other places.
- Alyssa (10/5): My stay at Lili Cottage was relaxing and quite enjoyable! - The outdoor areas at Lili Cottage Ubud are lush, verdant, beautiful and well cared for by the local Balinese family who own & operate it. The staff is caring, attentive, and kind. The pool is to live for! If yoga is your jam, Yoga Barn is a few minutes walking distance of the property.
- Arpita (10/5): It was good value for money and in a great location - The staff and the family who own the accommodation were amazing, so welcoming and friendly
- Lucy (3/5): Overcharged and refused a refund - Room was nice and modern. Breakfast was brought to our room every morning. We were essentially scammed out of around £50 by this property. We opted to spend more to have a room with a kitchen, TV, bath, etc. After paying, we were shown to our room which had none of these facilities - it was just a basic hotel room, with a bedroom and shower room. When we tried to discuss this with staff, we were told the room we booked was “unavailable” and we couldn’t have any money back because the room we had been given was the “same price” as the one we booked (completely untrue). When we tried to get this resolved through booking.com, the properly lied to booking.com when contacted and told them we were in the exact room we had booked. We are still trying to get our money back through booking.com. Very disappointing.
WiFi also incredibly bad. Wouldn’t stay connected for longer than 5 minutes. Our air conditioning also broke every day.
- Ben (5/5): I paid extra for cottage with pool view and kitchen but had already been given to someone else. Refused me the cottage t - Was very spacious. No tv, no kitchen, no pool view, staff were also run off there feet as under staffed.
- Gia (10/5): Hidden Gem, tucked away from the noise of the street, very quiet property in a lush tropical setting - Lili is a GEM! The location is excellent, especially if you want to stay near Yoga Barn! Rooms are comfy and spacious and the pool is a dream... I floated in it every night!
- Wheeler (8/5): Great stay at Lilli - The room is super spacious, comfortable and has lots of storage space, thepool areais very cleanand tidy and beautiful and thepool is refreshing. the staff are friendly and accommodating The wifi is a bit patchy and the kitchen doesnt have any utensils at all so cannot be used - wasnt a problem for me but FYI
- Wheeler (9/5): Lovely - The room was spacious, the facilities were very nice the location was perfect for what i wanted to do, the staff were very friendly and helpful The wifi was a bit patchy which wasnt super ideal as i was working remote.
- Yudi (10/5): Exceptional - Love the staff is wonderfull kind and quick acction
- Payal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yseult (10/5): A great hotel in a quiet location at a very reasonable price. - I was moved from my original room as they had to make repairs to the roof. I think I was upgraded, as the room was spacious, had a small kitchen with a kettle and a sink and there was a fridge. Breakfast was brought to each room every morning so one could eat it on one's balcony. You chose what you wanted from a menu. The staff were attentive and helpful and it was a delight to use the pool! Nothing
- Svetlana (8/5): Very good -
- Caroline (10/5): My stays at Lili Cottages are always wonderful. - I have been staying at Lili Cottages for six years running. I love the accommodation, the staff and the peace and calm it makes me feel. The location is perfect. Nothing that I don't like.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (1/5): Awful, avoid at all costs!!!!!! - Nothing was absolutely awful!!! Avoid at all costs couldn’t stay because it was so unclean full of ants everywhere all over the bed the whole room was infested. Absolutely disgusting, staff did nothing to help did not move us when our room was bug infested even all over the bedding every inch of the room and bathroom was covered. We refused to stay they said we would get a refund after using Google translate and threatening legal action. Still waiting now 3 months on! Appalling they just ignore your message and the manager they rang was disgusting in his tone. This looks nothing like the pictures and don’t stay if you want dirty sheets covered in bugs and to be bitten. Glasses were chipped almost cut out lip open.
- James (8/5): Very good - Location, staff, stayed in 3 different rooms all good value, very good bar, restaurant (who's who) at start of walk way 2 upstairs rooms, shower heads need replacing, room number 2 bad wi fi, breakfast not always what you ordered,
- Samantha (5/5): Nice, but mold problems made me leave - Good location, nice pool Mold - in the first room the bathroom had a ton of black mold in the ceiling and I asked to switch rooms. The second room had white paper taped to the ceiling in a few places and I was starting to sneeze and feel sick after 2 nights there. I left two days earlier to relocate to another hotel.
- Isabella (5/5): Passable -
- Vincent (8/5): Very good -
- Keegan (9/5): Superb -
- Chih (7/5): The good impression of the first time was gone. - My order was for a room on the first floor near the pool. In the end, I was given a room with no view of the pool. Though I did tell the front desk, but it didn't help. The first time I stayed there, I had a good memory. However, the second time I stayed there, I was not given a room on the first floor near the pool according to the room type I booked. My impression went to hell in a handbasket.
