- Gail-S (7/5): La Posada - The location was superb. The food in the restaurant was very good. I liked the trains going past. There was no coffee or tea making facilities in the room. The coffee station in the lobby was only in the morning so if you wanted tea inthe afternoon you couldn't make any. There was no complimentary water in the room, although there was water fountain in a different part of the hotel which I only discovered when I was checking out. There was an empty jug in the room which looked like it should have had water in it but perhaps this was for me to use at the water fountain which I didnt know about. The room was also very dark.
- Stephen (9/5): Amazing hotel, full of history, with Southwest decor. - The staff was very helpful and the restaurant had great food. We loved the history of the La Posada and Fred Hardy's influence. The design of Mary E.J. Colter was incredible and tasteful, also loved the fact the she designed many of the items including sconces, lamps, and furniture. It is located right next to the Santa Fe railroad and the sounds of trains were pretty loud. We were some of the last reservations/guests, so our room was located upstairs on the noisy side. We did sleep OK, the bed was comfortable. The staff helped us get our luggage upstairs because there are no elevators. These factors did not affect our stay, and we would go back there.

It was comfortable and quiet While we appreciated the abundance of art at every turn, sorry to say, it was a bit much for us, and not our favorite style. Clearly the artist has so much talent.

There are so many nooks and crannies to relax with coffee or a cocktail and read a good book, and the grounds are lovely to wander. The meal this time at the Turquoise room was the best one we’ve had to date! Such a great first stop for a longer road trip.

Das Essen im Restaurant - Filet Mignon - einfach lecker (teuer aber 👍) …na ja - Weinachts-Deko im Februar - wer‘s mag🤷🏼♂️ Die Bar-Dame bräuchte eine Schulung im Umgang mit Hygiene und Anstand. Die klebrige - schmutzige Theke… und dann zickigies Verhalten… nach einer freundlichen Bitte nach einer Reinigung. Das erste Mal, dass wir in den USA kein Trinkgeld hinterlassen haben ⁉️ Im Restaurant ist auch nicht alles gut organisiert - trotz Tischreservierung wurden wir am Eingang einfach ignoriert und über 10 Minuten stehen gelassen.

- Steve (10/5): Simultaneously invigorating and relaxing, the best get-away we have enjoyed in a decade! - As a gardener, I was instantly captured by the impressive array of gardening expertise. The meals at the Turquoise Room were some of the best I have ever enjoyed, and, at 79 years of age, I have had opportunity to travel over much of the world. Every member of the staff, the gardeners, maids, gift shop, restaurant, museum, and receptionist could not have been more helpful, pleasant, and informative. And then their is the art!!! My artist wife and I loved the art, and the nuanced political statements. We pray to be able to return soon and often. Sorry, but I really do not see anything that I can say is needing to be improved. Maybe add some algae eating fish to the "moat", or advertise how to access the croquet mallets and balls, or the badminton racquets.

It has character and the outdoor courtyards and gardens are a lovely to wander through or sit and enjoy a drink. The room was cozy and very comfortable. This is a vintage hotel, so it is not "flawless" or "high tech" however it was very clean and well maintained. The best part is the restaurant. The food was shockingly good, great service, nice bar, high end. Better than a lot of "big city" restaurants. I wish I could have stayed longer here but I definitely will come back. Probably would make for a great romantic getaway. Bonus points for being dog friendly. I didn't like any of the other hotels I stayed at after staying here. HAHA.

L'intérieur est coloré, beaucoup d'œuvres d'art. Le restaurant sert des plats certes un peu cher mais absolument délicieux. Tout était parfait! Avoir une pomme de douche flexible.

- Cyndi (8/5): Experience a beautifully renovated old Fred Harvey Hotel - Very interesting old hotel. The art work is amazing along with the holiday decorations. Rooms were as interesting as the hotel. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant, room clean and bed comfortable. The staff advised us of the trains and as requested placed us in a room away from the tracks It’s an old hotel with an old HVAC system. The heater was so noisy , we turned it off.
- Avag (3/5): Disappointing. - Connection to historic people. Choice of decore, overall aesthetic, and Christmas lights were a pleasant surprise. My reservation was unexpectedly canceled before my arrival. Although staff attempted to reach me by phone, I was en route and unavailable at the time. When my family and I arrived, the team re‑booked the room, but I was charged a higher rate than my original reservation. Despite explaining the situation and our late arrival, we were not offered a late checkout or any accommodation for the inconvenience. The room itself was beautifully decorated, but the view outside the room was of overgrown and dead vegetation and grounds keeping equipment littered around. It was very notible, considering how much effort was put into the facade of the hotel, while the view out of the window was an eyesore. On cleanliness, the furniture, fixtures, and sheets all appeared clean, however the air conditioning unit was filthy. It appeared that the seal around the unit had molded or severely corroded, and the fan blades were never cleaned, which is particularly disturbing to have that circulating air in our lungs. The next morning, I was woken up early by direct sunlight shining in because the room had no curtains. There were only blinds that did little to block the light. This made it impossible for our infant to nap and significantly affected the rest we were hoping for. Considering the higher rate I was charged, it felt like we paid for a full night’s sleep but did not receive one. It felt like the hotel is banking on the goodwill of its historical connection, rather than serving first and foremost as a pleasant and functional place for people to stay.

- Greg (10/5): A very rewarding experience. - We loved the old history of the railroad, the art work and restaurant! Definitely will stay again. The gardens were a little unkept. But, in their defense it was an off season stay and just turning autumn with cold nights.
- Reta (10/5): Historic Harvey House's on Route 66 - The hotel is beautifully restored. It's feels wonderfully homey with warm colors, excellent art everywhere you look, and a nice restaurant. There's a fun art gallery on the second floor and a museum on the grounds. The walls are so thick you never hear your neighbors. However you will hear trains passing by. A room facing the gardens will be quieter. There room are small and beautifully decorated but it would be nice to have a little refrigerator.

The public rooms are huge and filled with old pictures, south western style furniture and amazing contemporary art. I spent over two hours just walking and enjoying it all. A little more counter space in the bathroom would be good. The bathroom mirror was so high up and tiny, it was useless… unless you’re over 6 ft.

- RANDALL (10/5): - This is a great historic hotel built by the Santa Fe railway and Harvey House. This was the world of the wonderful passenger service including the Super Chief and El Capitan They have done an excellent job of restoring the hotel. Great train enthusiast hotel

Interessante Gespräche mit anderen Gästen ..., das Wichtigste an einer Reise...!

- Michele (10/5): This hotel is more than just a place to sleep; it's a piece of American history. - This place is fabulous! Our room was gorgeous, and we spent a good part of the first day enjoying our private patio. The next day was spent wandering around the hotel, checking out the multitude of quaint little sitting areas, admiring the landscaping and playing croquet on the back lawn. If you ask, the folks at the front desk will give you a code to scan for a self-guided tour of the property. It took us hours to complete, and we learned so much about the history of this incredibly interesting hotel. And the shrimp/pasta meal I had in the restaurant was one of the best meals I have ever eaten! Can't wait to return! The gentleman who plays guitar in the lobby was not very personable. When I told him I had stayed at the hotel before but didn't recall seeing him, he quite rudely insisted that I was wrong because he is ALWAYS there. We only stayed for two songs and when we got up to leave he said, in front of everyone "I play for tips, you know". Wow, that's just wrong. We threw $20 in his jar but vowed to avoid him in the future.

- Charles (9/5): We are Route 66 fans and had visited LaPosada in the past, this time we spent 2 enjoyable nights. - The hotel is beautiful. We also enjoyed the Affeldt Mion Museum located in the 1930 depot. The weather was great while we were there. The hotel itself is like one giant museum. We should have requested first floor as the staircase though grand was very taxing for older folks and our room was one of the last in the long hallway.

Our room had a lot of character with artistically painted headboard and unique furnishings. We enjoyed the on-site gallery and paintings. They mishandled my booking, they thought I cancelled my reservation, when the night before I called and actually confirmed. Then they tried to blame booking.Com . They did give us a $75.00 food credit, which was nice. But overall, I didn't when I'll go back there, the place was musty when we for there, in the main going west on the property. My girlfriend reported that or smelt like an old folks home.
- Leora (10/5): - Beautiful building and grounds. Everywhere you look there is lovely furniture and interesting art work. Dog friendly. Our room was spacious, comfy and quiet. Excellent food and drinks. Even had a guitarist in the evening singing and telling stories.
