Guest Reviews
- Sandy (10/5): Lovely hotel in a lovely town - We really enjoyed our overnight stay at the Hotel Fauchere and wished we could have stayed longer! We were promptly greeted upon arrival and directed to our room. Although it was on the small side, the bed and bedding were top-notch and we slept soundly. I especially liked the shower in the adjoining bathroom and the terry cloth robes that the hotel provided. We also liked that it was right in town and we were able to walk around and visit the numerous shops and restaurants in this lovely little town! We will return,
- John (10/5): It was an elegant respite, and a step back in time. - Delicious!

- Ashley (9/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): This was a delightful stay in a well maintained, beautiful, historic hotel. - The location, luxe bedding, tasteful snd classic decor, and the beautiful balcony. Both the restaurant t and bar were great additions. The breakfast could use some improvement.
- Bill (10/5): - A very nice hotel of the beaten path. We need a lot more of these in this country. Keep up the great work!
- Balint (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautifully charming hotel. Wonderful and very friendly staff. Very convenient location. Would definitely stay here again!
- David & Susan (10/5): -
- Eric (7/5): - The restaurant was great, as well as breakfast. Location The shower had some mold and staining. Window in bathroom needed another curtain
- Roderick (10/5): - First class. Beautiful hotel, beautiful town
- James (10/5): - This property was was close to everything.
You could park and walk to dinner.
We had an amazing time and that staff wss always available for our need.
I would recommend this place for a charming getaway

- Joseph (10/5): A Milford,PA Must Stay! - RELAXING!!!! staff is like family & any issue, Dina the Mgr RESOLVES it in minutes! To enjoy Milford, it’s a must stay. Park your car when you arrive & the next time you will start it will be when you are leaving. Everything is so close within walking distance to enjoy.
- Maria (6/5): - I really liked the historical context and rich history that was so prevalent in the town. We enjoyed the convenient location of the shops and restaurants. That the hotel and town felt safe. We were really pleased to walk around town and be able to see and enjoy the area’s history. Without rushing to get back to feed the meter or leave to get the car.
We did love the boutique hotel especially the room key since they still have actual keys. The room was beautiful its was spacious and we had a balcony were you could sit and light the fire pit. The bathroom I loved and the claw foot tub was a nice throw back. The shower curtain was always sticking to your body when you used the shower head. That has to be changed because it can be dangerous.
We were however disappointed with the room, since the hotel is pet friendly, the rugs are not cleaned properly and the room had a a bad smell and dusty. Although, housekeeping came, they didn’t dusty the tables and the floors they only made the beds, changed the towels, and not sure if they vacuumed.
The 2 nights we stayed the heating system was not working the properly room was freezing cold at night. I called for service, they came up to adjust but no luck we didn’t sleep well 2 nites. They did take some money off the bill. We were pleased they accounted for the responsibility of their employees not being able to get it fixed. They did apologize and recognized the mishap. Their restaurant was really good. Free breakfast was great.
- Hoffman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good - Loved the history of the hotel and town
- Susan (10/5): - We came to the area for a winter getaway. We hiked the nearby Falls and explored the historical sites in the area. It is a lovely town with great amenities. It was nice to stay in a hotel that was restored. The staff at the hotel is great and we really enjoyed the food.
- Scott (5/5): Passable - Location Thin walls of neighbors room
- juverned (2/5): Michelin? Umm Not really - Nice enough place, service was okay. Food was way overpriced. We had the 3 course Valentines dinner and it was definitely not worth the $75 per person price. Took them an hour to give us our main course, Food portions were too small and not cooked properly. Filet mignon was dry and lobster was undercooked. Dessert looked like it was bought from the frozen aisle at Walmart. Definitely not worth the hype.
- amanda (10/5): - charming hotel right in the middle of town, perfect to spend a weekend
- R5447UOvirginias (10/5): Charming & Great Location - Stayed here with my cousins, while visiting Milford to celebrate my sister’s birthday and so glad we did! This place has such a charming vibe & great location! Beds are very comfy, room was very clean and Adam was amazing!!! We can’t wait to come back!!
- Kathleen (10/5): - Beautiful hotel in the middle of Milford PA. Wonderful restaurants and shops in walking distance.
- Krista (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alina (10/5): - It's a lovely place, with a lot of old time charm. Room was clean, good size and nicely decorated. Loved the bathroom and the big mirror on the back of the door. And it had an electric fireplace, for ambiance. A for decor everywhere, including the dining igloos in the backyard. Thank you to all the staff for everything that you do to make this hotel a wonderful stay.
- Lisa (7/5): Nice historic property. - Great location, comfy bed & clean! Complimentary breakfast was nice. A bit pricey.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This was our 3rd stay at the Hotel Fauchere, and it has declined a bit in quality. Most importantly in their breakfast - used to be a gourmet breakfast, featuring brûléed grapefruit, quiche and homemade yogurt. Now it’s a buffet style breakfast, felt more like at a chain hotel. we came down around 915 (breakfast runs 8-10) and it was almost Empty…. No food left. A few bananas, and burnt bacon and potatoes. I spoke to the staff and they mentioned they had run out of the aforementioned homemade yogurt and granola and quiche. Disappointing and not sure how you don’t account enough food for your guests. The cleaning service also missed our room, although we did not put up the sign asking them to not clean. We only stayed for 2 nights so it wasn’t a big deal, but would’ve been nice. Just seemed a bit overall worse on quality and less of that boutique charm hotel with great service and amenities as it had 5 years ago. Still overall highly recommend as a place to stay in Milford !
- Michele (10/5): - The service at this hotel was the best we have ever had. We stayed there for four days and the staff knew who we were awesome place. We went for our second honeymoon and stayed in their sweet.
- Stephen (9/5): Very nice, we will be back. - Unable to wait until 8:00 a.m. for breakfast.
- Lawrence (10/5): - Loved the historic part of the hotel.
- Carmen (10/5): A relaxing getaway - Hotel was beautiful and the location was perfect to explore beautiful mountains. The restaurant is superb for dinnner and breakfast is great. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We stayed for only one day but it was enough to enjoy a relaxing pace of things. Would definitely come back!
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Historic property, kind and helpful staff, terrific breakfast. Nothing
- Deborah (10/5): Nice hotel - Lovely hotel and the free breakfast was good.
- Christopher (10/5): - yes
- Harvey (8/5): They couldn’t find our res -
- Alon (9/5): Superb - Location and the facility. I thought the price is too high.
Also the fire alarm located above the bed blinks in a way that makes it impossible to sleep. I know this is a must have by regulations but not the blinking light.
- Z1423UTthomasd (2/5): Terrible experience. - We stayed at this inn for three days over Labor Day Weekend to attend a family funeral. It was an unexpected death, and we had to find something nearby, so we booked it, but it cost $4700 for two rooms. When we got to the hotel on Friday we told the staff attendant at the desk that we would be staying until Monday, as planned, but our daughter and son-in-law would need to leave on Sunday (a day early). We asked to have the fee for their room on Sunday night deducted from our bill. The night attendant was pleasant and said she thought it would be no problem, but we should check with the manager tomorrow. We asked for the manager several times over the next few days, and explained why we needed to talk with her, but the staff kept telling us to check back later.
As our stay progressed, we were completely stunned by the rudeness of the staff. They serve a breakfast buffet from 8:00-10:00 AM each day, but it is not ready by 8:00 and then they run out of food. They offered trays of scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes (same menu) each day but repeatedly ran out of eggs. One morning we overheard a guest politely asking the staff if they could bring out some more eggs after they had been waiting for about 45 minutes. The waitress responded, "The eggs will be coming out again soon. And I don't want to hear you say that Christmas is coming soon, too!" The eggs did not appear until the breakfast was nearly over. They did offer delicious jars of homemade yogurt with granola and fruit. However, they ran out of the yogurt one day by 9:00 AM. The coffee was terrible. I asked if it was possible to have a cup of cappuccino, and the waitress responded with a curt, "No!"
On Sunday morning when our daughter and son-in-law were checking out, we asked again about deducting the room from our bill since they were leaving a day early. The staff member at the desk said they would not be able to deduct it because it was a holiday weekend, and they could have rented out the room for Sunday night if they had known. This was despite multiple other family members also staying at the inn, and we had reserved and had a huge dinner at the restaurant downstairs (Bar Louis) the night before for our whole extended family of 25. We had all spent a lot of money at the inn that weekend.
To top off the experience, when my husband and I returned to the inn on Sunday night after a long day of post-funeral activities, we went to the restaurant for dinner, As we approached the host, he said, "Don't even think about having dinner here tonight. We are closed now." It was 7:55 PM and the restaurant scheduled to close at 8:00. Two of my family members were having dinner on the porch. We went to the front desk and asked if they could make an exception for us, explaining that we had stayed at the inn all weekend and we were there for a funeral. The only other place we could find that was open was the diner down the street. The woman at the desk answered with a blunt "no."
There is no hospitality at this inn. In all the years we have traveled, we have never been treated this way. It was astonishing.
- William (8/5): - Very quaint and comfortable.
- F7913EKlydial (2/5): Horrible lunch awful food - This was the worst experience and it cost $75 without tip.
Not sure where to start. None of us finished our meal. My dad's omelette was bland. My mom's salad was awful the lettuce was wilted and had only five green beans on the salad that were hard.
My burger did not taste right. Honestly I've had better burgers at Red Robin. WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!! To top things off we drove over an hr for lunch! You got to do better and we want some satisfaction!
- Aaron (10/5): - Charming
- heathersS5479UN (8/5): Good just not as GREAT as it could be! - Exquisitely appointed and well maintained historic property. My husband and I enjoyed a quiet one night stay in this charming hotel. We chose a room with a balcony overlooking the water fountain below where we enjoyed wine and appetizers (self provided). There aren't a lot of nice places in town to dine, so this was a good way to go.
The staff was a mixed bag. The lady who checked us in in the evening was lovely. The lady who was running things in the morning, not so much - unfriendly, looked stressed out while managing the breakfast (for only 3 people in the dining room) and in general, seemed annoyed with the thought of helping us. We asked if we could use the complimentary bikes for a short ride around town when we went to check out early (check out was 11a, we checked out of our room at 10:15a). She made a mild stink about it. We couldn't figure out why, after all, our room was vacated early and we just wanted to borrow two of the 8+ available bikes for 30 mins or so. We would have used the bikes earlier but we were waiting for the rain to stop.
The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Given the luxury this hotel attempts to imply (and it's price point), the breakfast is basic. The coffee was weak, the reheated quiche looked overly cooked as were the potatoes, the fruit was your basic melon mix. The croissants were a nice touch but there was nothing special about the breakfast. Add some jam, some berries to the fruit...it wouldn't take much. Sadly it was lacking the "excite and delight!"

- Andrew (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay very much.
Clean, staff attentive
- Kristina (10/5): Mountain Retreat - We had a wonderful 2 night stay. The room was well appointed and comfortable and the balcony was very nice. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The only disappointment was in the restaurant and bar being closed both the days we were there.
- David (10/5): - Outstanding hotel. Beautifully renovated. Classy
- Faye (6/5): Pleasant - Nice building, comfy bed & pillows, modern bathroom. Good housekeeping Noisy. One night someone was cutting trees between 2&4 am. Rainfall shower only, can't wash underparts. No chair/ desk situation, but there wasn't really any room anyway. Hard to find receptionist.
- Thierry (10/5): - They have an AV and Tesla charging station which they don't even advertise. Nice arrival surprise.
The room we picked had a Balcony, but this Balcony was actually a huge Terrace surrounded by giant beautiful trees and with an electric fire place and comfy chairs.
Again they don't advertise this in the room description. Another great surprise, well worth the eztae$20 per night.
Breakfast was good enough but nothing spectacular. They are short staffed like many hotels nowadays and were running out of coffee capsules so we couldn't enjoy the coffee in our room.
The owner is fully aware and was very apologetic.
Overall a very good experience.
We will return.
- michaeldV1375DX (6/5): Very disappointed - We have stayed at Hotel Fauchere many times and most of the visits were excellent. Definitely worth the 4 star rating and cost..... except for this last time. We recently stayed for one night and there were several issues with our stay. There was no amenities in the bathroom (soap, tissues, etc); no sugar for coffee in the room; 1 espresso pod (usually they have several for espresso coffee for 2 during a stay); restaurant closed and sister restaurant two doors down completely missed the mark on the food - (both pasta dishes not cooked) but service was good. A 4 star hotel costing $300+ per night should be a great place to stay. Unfortunately Hotel Fauchere under new ownership has chosen to keep the price high but did not keep the high level of service that it used to enjoy - it is at best a 3 star experience that we hope the owner will take notice and put a team in place that aspires to maintain a higher standard.
- Yosi (8/5): Nice hotel, although we expected more for the price. - The place is very authentic. 1. The shower, difficult to operate and uncomfortable.
2. The fact that they start serving breakfast at 0800am which is too late. There was no option for self made breakfast; they did not offer a takeaway for early risers.
- Brenda (8/5): - Nice stop off I84. Very pretty and great breakfast!!
- Eric (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): - Beautifully kept historic hotel with clean comfortable rooms. We had the suite which also featured a wonderfully bright sitting area with a table for dining. Very nice breakfast as well.
- Kyle (10/5): - I love the historic nature of the hotel, the very comfortable bed and the staff were very helpful with every request we had during our stay. We were here by happenstance, this Hotel makes me wish to return just for it.
- Jacob (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Great Stay - Had an excellent experience at Hotel Fauchere. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated, staff was friendly, food was good. Would come back again and recommend to others.
- neelamm2017 (6/5): Great hotel. Bad breakfast - The hotel is immaculate. Great location clean comfortable It was the breakfast that was extremely disappointing. I have never seen such a bad breakfast in all my travels specially in a hotel of this class. There was hardly any choice. First day there was quiche and bacon for the hot food Was just warm. Bacon looked old and unappetizing. There were croissants had to ask for the jelly It was like it was being rationed Water for tea was cold. Had to ask for hot water
Second day it was quiche again. By 9.15 there was only one piece of sausage left. There was no effort to refill the sausage serving tray.
Had to again ask for jelly. The girl serving and helping in the dining room was very polite and got us everything we asked for. But I don’t understand why things were not just kept out Had to ask for jelly , tea bags . Very very unsatisfying breakfast
I went to the diner next door and ate hot eggs and toast.
Sue the night receptionist was extremely kind polite friendly and hospitable
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (10/5): Stunning Hotel! - What a gorgeous place to stay! We loved our room, your staff, breakfast and town! Hopefully we return!
- Corinne (9/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful place. - It is a beautiful historic hotel that has just the right amount of modern updates.
- mike (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay.
- Jon (7/5): Good - Location Flashing light on the smoke detector made for a restless night
- Kenneth (10/5): - Great little town everything is close by just a little pricey
- Ellen (9/5): It was ok. Won’t rush back. - Nice place. Very kind people. Coffee station in room was not clean. Restaurant was very disappointing but they did make good on it. Food was cold twice and they needed more help for service. Atmosphere is great. Been here before and all was good, that’s why so disappointing.
- Michele (10/5): Great experience - This hotel is amazing. So beautiful and clean. And it smells amazing!!! Great location. The breakfast was delicious and I loved that they had coffee, tea and fresh water in the lobby. The in room coffee maker was also great. Had such a great experience will definitely be coming back
- TravelwithFemina (10/5): Charming old Inn - Lovely Inn in the charming town of Milford, PA. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The Inn is very clean. Walkable to town. The breakfast buffet is nothing to write home about. I wish it was made to order. The woman at check in was delightful. I will stay here again.
- Olga (10/5): - Wonderful experience
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Devin (10/5): - Cute hotel. We loved staying here. Friendly staff. Bars and restaurants within walking distance. Bar Louie is so cool.
- Christine (10/5): Amazing Hotel! - What a beautiful, historic hotel!! Everything about it screamed comfort and welcoming. The room was perfect, great breakfast, service was outstanding! From the espresso in the room to the hand delivered cookies everything was perfect!
- Miklos (8/5): Good - Good N/A
- Kathryn (10/5): From check-in to check-out, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Fauchere. - The location was great. The staff was friendly and welcoming. After we checked in, we took a walk around Milford, which is a lovely town. We had a wonderful, relaxed dinner in the hotel at Bar Louis. Our room, although small, was comfortable. The Bathroom was spacious and well appointed. The included breakfast was a buffet, but perfectly prepared, with a variety of delicious offerings. The room could have used a chair. The bed was comfy, but there was no place it sit otherwise.
- Idalmi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Outstanding hotel and boutique location. Our only concern was that items listed on the restaurant menu (and on the website) were not available, and this should be corrected, or at least a disclosure made immediately upon the guests' arrival.
- H. (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): - A nice get away close to a local theater.
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): - Beautiful property and surroundings. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway
- Edna (10/5): Exceptional - Everything N/A
- David P (10/5): - The staff was extraordinary in terms of service and attention at all levels. Took a personal interest in my visit to ensure my visit was perfect on all levels. A hidden gem!
- Nicolas (10/5): Exceptional - Jason was amazing !!! The hotel is GM and entire staff LOVE this location.
The rooms are FIVE STAR
- Colleen (8/5): The hotel itself is well maintained and comfortable. We were happy that it is pet friendly as well. - It was adequate. We were told that the breakfast buffet started at 8am which it did. We arrived very close to that time but the egg dish was cold and didn't seem freshly prepared. We also ate dinner at the hotel. Again, adequate but not exceptional by any means. Salad was light on the roasted beets. Hamburger wasn't the highest quality meat. Dessert (tarte tatin) was not good at all. Tasted like canned apple pie filling thrown on top of puff pastry.
- BrooksLooks (6/5): Good Graciousness! - We returned to Hotel Fauchère in Milford, Pennsylvania knowing it had changed hands. Owner Sean Strub's dynamic presence is gone, though his spirit still resonates in its intimate halls. An affilliation with Relais and Châteaux is gone as well, and vestiges of this relationship are slipping away, perhaps intentionally--perhaps to save money or to make do with as little as possible. It is as though graciousness is slipping away too. All that remains of R&C is the large fleur de lis on the back of its inconveniently large guest room keys.
In spite of the change in ownership, there remained a few glimpses of extraordinary service and graciousness. We saw it in the service provided by Jen and her team at Bar Louis, by a senior housekeeper who came in to work on her day off, and by a maintenance team member who as we were leaving stopped what he was doing to wish us a fond farewell.
Otherwise, there were no offers to help with bags, reception staff remained seated at check-in, and the word 'officious' came to mind.
If Louis Fauchère was still alive, he would have died again to see the breakfast being served today: there were a few remaining thaw-heat-serve quiche slices withering forlornly in the bottom of a large heated stainless steel chafing dish. Fortunately, the Milford diner is only a few steps away, and BetterWorld just across the street provides wonderful organic coffees and delicious pastries. Our in-room coffee service no longer even provided real half and half, only "Cremora".
In our no-longer deluxe room, draperies were unevenly hung, and while the bathroom floor was still heated (a wonderful feature), the heated towel bar was simply disconnected on both ends instead of being removed, as if to say 'you can no longer use this' or 'we have chosen not to fix this'. In our room, we could hear the phone ringing in the office all day and evening, and the odd strange music that played occasionally and loudly was easily heard in our room.
We had a respectable dinner the first night that was served beautifully by Jen, the manager, at the Bar. I requested medium rare, only to have medium well arrive. Oh well. Cocktails were delicious. We also came back one evening and tried to enter through the outside bar entrance. It was very dark, and we couldn't even tell if it was still open. The bulb in the overhead fixture at the bottom of the outside steps had burned out, and when we raised the safety issue, we were informed that "a maintenance request had been put in." No one seemed to know if a switch was simply turned off, or what. Definitely a safety concern for other guests who attempt this descent into darkness.
Even though we were lodging guests, we were only allowed to sit on the bar side at two different small round tables next to the door as we were not having dinner! There were a number of vacant tables for four guests on the other side, just a few feet away. No cocktail napkins were served with our drinks. The Crème Brulée was excellent although a bit smallish.
We have really enjoyed Fauchere over the years, and would hate to see it diminish as there has been an extraordinary history here of serving people well here. We are afraid graciousness is slipping away.

Fun town at the top of the Delaware Water Gap. Great location for motorcycling. Phenomenal restaurant and bar
- Theresa (7/5): Good place - It was clean, quiet and loved the quaint and antique atmosphere. We lost power during the night , so we couldn't really do anything
- Kirk (10/5): Perfect - It was a very special birthday and the staff did everything to make it perfect. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the room was one of the nicest I’ve ever experienced. I would not recommend the front rooms due to road noise.
