- phil (7/5): - Only hotel in a town of 23 people. Nice nature walk close by. At 200+ $ per night, I'd say it's about 120% too expensive. You can stay in Death Valley in the park at Stovepipe Wells for half as much.. In plain English,, definitely not worth the money. Or in other words, a rip off.

- MM (7/5): - Very practical Inn on the way to Death Valley. Our budget room was spacious and comfortable, with coffee machine, fridge and microwave: everything one would need in this remote area. Bathroom had one of the best showers ever!! Small breakfast served, pointed to quality more than to quantity: very much appreciated. We knew we booked a budget room, but we were at least expecting a comfortable bed: it was on the contrary very tiny and a bit difficult for the 2 of us to sleep, especially because the room was big enough for a bigger bed. The only restaurant and gas station of Shohone have the same prices you will find in DV.

Shoshone is a good drive - about an hour from Furnace Creek. However there are some nice spots south of the Park and easily reachable from Shoshone Pool wasn't operational

The grounds were so sweet and cozy, with a central fire pit in the center of the rooms, it was conducive to meet ups in the evening. The staff was also so nice and accommodating nothing!

Keurig Coffee Machine, Microwave, TV, Refrigerator, large bathtub, and parking right in from of our room. First class experience,. It would have been nice if the spa had not been doing through maintenence, but, that was a minor inconveniece, and the hotel let me know it was out of servive before we arrived.

- Kathleen (10/5): A nice oasis for visiting Death Valley - Room was recently remodeled and upgraded with a good use of space with the kitchenette. Towels and sheets were soft with a pleasant scent. Bed was comfortable. The self-care products were a nice touch. Free breakfast with bagels, fruit and beverage and communal kitchen. Very convenient location with the Shoshone Village , cafe, gas station, store, visitor center and birding trails. I wish I had a little more time to wander through the town.

- Craig (9/5): We’d stay here again - The woman who checked us in was super nice. I can only drink decaf coffee and she provided extra for our stay. The room was clean, the amenities were better than expected and the bed was comfortable. It’s a good location for visiting Death Valley National Park, which was our purpose. But be advised, the one and only store in town, next to the hotel, has no milk or dairy products of any kind. No eggs, no lunch meats, or anything perishable. So bring those items with you. The store does have beer but no non alcoholic beer. Just sayin. N/A

- Argyl (9/5): Very pleasant. - Staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean. Beds were very comfortable. Location is excellent. There was a bit of noise from adjacent rooms.

La douche est TOP, tout est propre, il y a une kitchenette (très minimaliste) complétée par la cuisine commune du petit dej où on allait faire cuite nos pates le soir. Le saloon en face propose une bonne cuisine. Il y a une station essence qui fait aussi mini superette. Tous les gens sont charmants La piscine etait fermee (pas annoncé lors de la reservation), et les lits dits “doubles” sont rikikis (mais confortables). A deux, c’est tres serré

Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Qualche capello per terra e nella doccia al nostro arrivo. Wi-Fi disponibile gratuitamente ma connessione poco veloce

- Michel (10/5): Great stay near Death Valley - This is a motel style place to stay. We enjoyed it very much. The rooms are very clean and had everything we needed. The staff is great. The restaurant across the street is simply wonderful with its excellent staff and their food is delicious. We spent some time walking around and it is interesting to see how miners lived in caves nearby. Shoshone is a good spot to stay when you're visiting Death Valley. There is a convenience store and a gas station nearby. We would most definitely stay here again. The convenience store nearby is somewhat overpriced.

- Ronan (9/5): Séjour agréable - Bon emplacement à 1h de trajet des premiers sites de la Death Valley par le Sud (Dantes View et Zabriskie Point). Chambre fonctionnelle, confortable, avec tout le nécessaire de toilettes (y compris lait hydratant pour le corps, brume d’oreiller, etc.) très appréciable quand on voyage léger (bagage cabine et échantillons de toilettes inférieurs à 100 mL) et passe d’hébergements en hébergements, sachant que certains d’entre eux n’ont parfois ni savon ni gel douche. Prix un peu élevé, mais sans surprise sachant que c’est le seul hébergement du coin. Heure tardive pour le petit déjeuner (8h) qui ne permet pas d’en profiter si l’on veut profiter du lever de soleil dans la Death Valley.
- eugenia (10/5): - Very comfortable bed , luxurious linens, beautifully decorated room with unexpected first class niceties from Elemis. The little town is a gem on the way to or from Death Valley and very close to the natural hot w mineral springs. Very interesting history/paleo/geology museum with the Mammoth bones found nearby, located across the street and a unique Dublin Gulch where the early miners lived in the caves right next to the hotel. It will definitely be on our list of places to revisit. The cell phone reception is very poor. Even with the free WiFi.

- Horst Nickel (9/5): In Summe wirklich gut, daher zu empfehlen. - Zimmer mit der Ausstattung für amerikanische Verhältnisse sehr gut. Auto konnte vor der Tür geparkt werden und die Lage des Hotels und des Ortes ist wirklich genial. Das Frühstück entspricht nicht europäischen Vorstellungen, aber für amerikanische Hotels wirklich gut.

- Edit (10/5): Great location before you head to Death Valley - Perfect stay in between locations. Room was clean and well equipped. Loved the atmosphere. Bed was a bit too small as we were used to two double beds in other inns/lodges, and air-con loud but we solved it by turning off.

From the outside it is clearly an older hotel but the room was very spacious, well appointed, and clean. The manager was very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy and shower had great pressure.

Had a look round and there was no pool to be seen, after talking to one of the local we were told that the pool was about 400 yds up the road from the accommodation and was being rebuilt. As we intended to spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool there was very little point in stopping here for the night, so we moved on.

- Amy (10/5): - My 3rd stay here and it's one of the best places I've ever stayed. Spotless rooms, spa-like shower, comfortable bed, everything you need. The owner clearly takes great pride in her motel. Light breakfast options in the communal kitchen (bagels, yoghurt, coffee, fruit, tea kettle). Needed earplugs at night because of the AC but otherwise a perfect stay. Dinner across the road at the Crowbar (the rainbow trout is particularly good). Be sure to spend time around the firepit after dark and enjoy the peace and quiet. I love this place, and look forward to visiting again.

- René (7/5): Hôtel perdu aux confins du désert, une expérience à tenter (ou pas) - L'avantage principal de l'établissement est sa situation géographique, à l'entrée du désert Mojave, dans un hameau perdu de 31 habitants. De ce point de vue, passer une nuit dans cet hôtel (car il n'y en a qu'un) peut valoir le coup, même si je pense que je n'y retournerai pas. 1. La pisicine était fermée pour travaux, alors que, à la lecture des commentaires, c'est l'un des principaux atouts de l'hôtel. 2. La climatisation, même au niveau le plus faible, fait un bruit assourdissant et nous a bien empêché de dormir. Et compte tenu des températures de ce mois d'août (+ de 40° Celcius), il était impossible de l'arrêter complètement sous peine de suffoquer. Compte tenu de ces deux désagréments, le rapport qualité-prix est franchement pas terrible.

Buona posizione per chi esce dalla death Valley noi poi dovevamo andare verso Los Angeles. In camera tè e caffè col bollitore. Ovviamente di fronte ad una strada trafficata e si sente parecchio rumore. Molto sperso come posto, non c'è nulla se non un benzinaio con un piccolo market e un saloon dove mangiare, però è utile fermarsi lì quando si esce dalla death Valley. La ragazza alla reception ci aveva detto che ci sarebbe stata una colazione"fai da te" nella cucina lì accanto, dalle sette, ma non si è presentato nessuno e la porta era chiusa a chiave, abbiamo aspettato più di un'ora anche con altri ospiti ma niente ce ne siamo andate.
