The casino is small but the bar staff is also incredible. Dennys on site is convenient if you don’t want to go out of the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. This is our third stay here and it’s a good stop.

- Daniel (10/5): - The room I stayed in was recently remodeled and was in excellent condition. A very unique and historical establishment offering modern luxury in a very remote location. I always stay here when passing through Ely. Many amenities close by including the Jail House Steak House.

- April (6/5): - Very tiny room and tiny bathroom. Very noisy as well. We were in the corner of the building. Doors are loose so every time someone goes in or out of there room your door shakes as well.

- Sheila (4/5): A Saturday night gone wrong. - The hotel was over a casino. Smoking odor instantly when entering the lobby. The rooms also reeked of smoke as did the linens. Very loud. The bed was comfortable even though the linens smelled stale. I’m not sure how this hotel got the ratings that it did.
- Paul (8/5): - I’ve stayed here a couple times. It’s very old (and it shows) but they look like they are trying to breath new life into it. They have a Dennys restaurant, to which I think is gross, but I know some people like it. The staff is the shining jewel. Very friendly and helpful with anything.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cutting corners at the cost of the customer - Unfortunately they stopped providing free breakfast and instead give you a coupon for some money off a restaurant downstairs. This change will likely be enough to make me rethink my lodging.
- George (8/5): Ely NV - Nice hotel. Small casino. Smoking in bar area. Rooms nonsmoking but suffer from years of smoking covered with air fresheners. Great mexican restraunt.All said would stay again. Checkout Northern Nevada Railway museum.

- TERRY (10/5): - Major road construction on main road; many businesses closed (permanently) or just not open at 4 p.m. on a weekday—just run down. Hotel Nevada is a shining jewel amidst all of it! While the hotel and casino are old, our room was remodeled and was one of the nicer rooms we’ve stayed in out of the last 14 days travelling!

Bedding and bed very comfortable … did not need our own pillows! Complementary drink, tickets, and discount food. All in all a pleasant one night experience!

- Steve (10/5): Nice little gem in Ely! - We stayed in the suite 512. It was nicely appointed due to renovation, clean and perfect for a couple. Only complaint was that the room windows face a nightlife bar with very loud music that goes to 2am in the morning. Would recommend you choose a different room if you are a light sleeper. Staff were friendly and helpful....also note they only clean the room if you're staying more than 3+ nights! Would definitely go back..

- alan (10/5): - We've stayed there 3 times and sill likely stay there again when passing through Ely. The hotel was built in 1929 and retains a rustic, old-time atmosphere. They are currently in the process of renovating their rooms. We liked the current rooms, but were given a tour of the upgrades - Wow! The rooms maintain the 1929 charm, but are upgraded to remove the quaint, but sometimes annoying issues found in older hotels. It's a great place foe a quiet getaway.
- David (4/5): - The room was quite small and the bathroom floor was filthy, having hair remnants pretty much everywhere. The bed & pillows were comfortable. I had a challenge contacting the front desk, there was no dialing directions. One of the front desk clerks didn’t know either.

Family suite had 2 bathrooms and 2 tvs. Tub is nice if you have little people. 2 sets of tables and chairs and lots of extra blankets, pillows and towels already in the room. Staff was VERY VERY NICE! I would stay again if we visit ely. Bed were decent and comfortable.

The elevator is a little slow but it's an old building with a lot of history, so it's a small inconvenience. We plan on staying again next year.

I liked staying in the Hank Thompson suite on the 6th floor overlooking Ely. I even bought an "I survived America's Loneliest Highway US 50" t-shirt from the front desk. This place has history and character!

- Divya (6/5): Meh! - I had contacted the property and confirmed we would get a Denny’s grand slam for breakfast, that is the reason I chose this property over others. But when we checked in, they informed us it has been cancelled and we only got 2 $5 coupons for 4 for us. That will barely cover coffee for adults. Rooms are teeny tiny and there are no locks on bathroom doors. Not worth the price
- Joy (8/5): - Comfortable and renovated rooms. Was actually very quiet.
- Reese (10/5): - This is always a fun historic place to stay when we drive through to Vegas.
- Holly (8/5): - We stayed in the newly renovated family suite. Only complaint is the bathroom sinks are way too small, and the automatic light that turns on when you enter the bathroom is annoying. Especially in the middle of the night.Also, no AC in the bunk room . Other than that, the room was really nice.

- Emily (10/5): - Very clean and newly remodeled. Walking distance to historic places. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Showers suddenly go to really hot then cold. Very small bathrooms. Dennys in the lobby was very convenient. Parking lot is very tight when trying to park or get out.
- Monte (10/5): - Good place, lobby is a casino if you’re into that, smelled like cigarettes, but the room was clean, nice, perfect, I would definitely stay here again
- Ann (6/5): - I stayed here because everything else was sold out, and it was the only place to stop on a long drive. The downtown area has road construction, but not much else. The hotel is old with no sound proofing, so I hear every vehicle going by on the street, in spite of being on the 6th floor. More concerning is that I hear the guy in the next room clearing his throat, quietly! The bathroom is so small that the light switch is on the far side of the sink, and you could almost wash your hands while sitting on the toilet. It is quite inexpensive, so that’s a plus! And like I said, the only thing available!
- Kermit (10/5): - Had deluxe room which was nicely renovated. It’s a small room but good enough for a night or 2. They provide five dollar Dennys voucher per person and free drink coupon. Casino is all slots with no table games.

- Kylee (2/5): - When you get here parking is in a parking lot across the street- so when you have a bunch of luggage you have to lug it through 2 parking lots to get to the building. Having all of my luggage trying to open the doors that close in on you was hard. When you walk in the smell of cigarette smoke hits you like a brick wall. It was SO bad tha I got very nauseous from the smell. It says that there is smoking and non smoking at their "casino". Its all one tiny room and it all reeks and the machines were old. One out of four took any bills. We went to play one of the buffalo games and my bf goes to put money in and gets screamed at by a guy who rushes over from the bar. We have no clue what hes talking about but he accused my bf of trying to steal his winnings saying paying him out (why would you walk way from a machine that is paying out?). It put a bad taste in our mouth we left. (Suprisingly it didnt smell at the jailhouse, we gambed and had dinner there and it was amazing.)Last the shower head was not on properly. When you turn it on half of it sprays directly in your face or straight up to the ceiling. Wont return. The lady who checked us out when we left was pleasant.
- Jean (10/5): Great Choice for a Larger Room - We only stayed one night, but we really enjoyed the Hotel Nevada. The room was spacious, clean, and updated, and the kids loved the queen bunk bed. A landmark in Ely, the Hotel Nevada has a long history and we felt like we were a small part of its continuing legacy. Great staff and great location.
- Clarisse (10/5): - Besides the lovely staff and the delicious meal we had at Dennys, as we were leaving, my husband realized he had left his silver cross necklace. As we called, we hoped they would find it and to our happy surprise, they had just gotten it to the front desk as we ran in. Very lovely people and a very lovely hotel. We will be choosing Hotel Nevada if we’re ever in the area!
- Mark (6/5): - The building is from 1929. It's been maintained. They allow smoking in the casino so it tends to infiltrate to the upper floors. The room was clean and no musty smell.
- Lisa (4/5): Rude staff, small town problems...... - Staff are very rude here. We were at the check-in counter for 4 minutes waiting for the clerk to come check in us in, mind you she had looked at as three times and then said"oh do you need to be checked in?". Staff's boyfriends hang out at the bar and get drunk and the staff come and hang all over them in front of customers. Residents in this town think they can be rude to the visitors because most of them are coming to the prison to visit inmates so they treat the civilians like crap. You have to be a part of the in crowd to be liked in this town or at any of the establishments in this town.
- David (10/5): - Great location, easy to walk to restaurants and other properties. It's an older property, so bathroom was small, but overall a good place.
- Gary (10/5): - Honestly when we saw the hotel from outside and the old lobby we got a bit scared about the rooms. We were pleasantly surprised by the renovation and the nice beds. Bath still needs remodeling or a nice new coating, but it is a historic place and for a night stop was more than good. The only problem we had was that they have nothing family friendly neither in the hotel nor in Ely, so we were stuck in the room. The dining is limited - pricy Italian restaurant ( prices higher than San Diego and Dennys - which had terrible service- they just don’t want to serve people , you can wait for hour and they won’t take your order.

- Linda (10/5): Updated room, great bargain! - Husband and I stayed 1 night and were very happy with Hotel Nevada. The front desk staff tried hard to accommodate my request for a quiet room and she was very welcoming. I paid a little more for an updated room and it was worth it. I hate hotel room carpet so the plank vinyl was appreciated and lovely. Room looked really fresh for the age of the hotel. Free drink upon arrival and Denny’s coupon for breakfast were an unexpected plus. Would recommend and stay again.
- erin (4/5): - The room was not cleaned. The toilet was a little dirty, floors in need of sweeping, dusty, there was hair on the bed.

- Bob (8/5): Works for a 1-night stop on the Loneliest Highway - Throw back vibes. Rooms were named after old western movie stars. The casino aspect was front and center, and the restaurant was a Denny’s.
- Patrick (6/5): - I have stayed there multiple times and this time was the worst. The shower still had the used soap in the soapdish from the previous customer. Internet was not working the entire three days I was there. The breakfast coupon from Dennys used to be for a full breakfast and coffee. Now they give $ 5.00 off. The coffee was $3.69 alone, I believe. The casino and bar were full of very loud people. Just not as good as it used to be.
- Hollie Charlene (8/5): - Great place, only complaint was room was warmer than we prefer but that’s to be expected in a historic building.
