Guest Reviews
- Nikil (6/5): - The ice machine did not work
- Carlos (6/5): - It's was okay
- Carlos (4/5): - People outside my door yelling no microwaves in rooms
- Roseanne (4/5): - Rooms absolutely wreaked of cigarettes despite being no- smoking. We had three rooms and all three smelled of cigarette smoke. In addition the awful smile smell, two of the three rooms were very clean - the third was not at all clean. I reserved the rooms on Expedia and when I arrived to check in, I was told each person needed a different person with a separate ID to confirm the reservation, which I've never experienced before. We ended up not using one of the rooms, my brother and his pregnant wife chose to sleep on the couch in my sister's living room because the cigarette smell was too much for them. ..not to mention the noise from the room next door at 3:00 am. Do not recommend this property
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable - Check-in was easy and fast. Rooms was decent with no bugs which is a plus for me. Outside was fairly clean . Room service was provided during the stay & all staff was polite.
- Carlos (8/5): - Cheaper price
- Laderious (10/5): - C
- Joseph (2/5): This place sucked! - We asked for non-smoking room. Clerk assigned a room knowing it smelled of smoke. Asked for a different room. Same result!! Wife has congestive heart failure and could not breathe. We ended leaving at 11:30 PM and found another hotel! This place had drug and prostitution traffic from 9:30 - 11:30, when we finally left! Will never return and will tell everyone our bad experience here. I hate that I had to even give it 1 star… Zero stars is a better assessment!
- Sean T (10/5): - Good place to stay
- Ricardo (4/5): - I don’t like that I couldn’t pay for both days and I had to remove all my stuff and check in all over both days.
- Heidi (10/5): - The staff were very nice! It was clean!
- Marvin (10/5): - Always clean.... Always quiet
- Terese (2/5): - Pictures did not look nothing like the whole town very disappointed and wouldn't recommend nobody to say it
- Davina (10/5): - I stay here frequently, the staff is always friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and it’s always quiet and comfortable.
- Tiesha (2/5): - So many good reviews had me thinking I was going to a nice clean comfortable safe rooom! NOT! RUN FROM THIS PLACE don’t walk!!!! Hookers and tricks coming in and out! The smell of smoke is loud! Loud pee smell in the bathroom from the unclean floor. Bums live there and be lurking outside of their room giving you the death stare! The front desk lady accidentally charged me the wrong total so they had a man to come get me out the room after I carried all my heavy belongings up some stairs and down a long walkway! I couldn’t get my money back, so I literally stayed up all night uncomfortable and scared to even sit down due to the filth! I feared leaving that night to get on the highway because I was soooo tired, I literally had to wait till sunrise to leave go to a park and sleep in my vehicle for awhile before jumping on the highway ! Worst experience ever!
- Tony (10/5): - Clean room
- Paul (10/5): - Great staff really helpful really cool real nice
- Joseph (10/5): - Convenient location. Great front desk person.
- Montrice (10/5): - I enjoy having a smoking room here. Decent room and usually no problems.
- Kaymonae (8/5): - booked for a king room and when i arrived at the property they were sold out
- Gustavo (8/5): Decent - It was ok for the price.
- Larry (2/5): - Drugs being sold people loud and there was roaches I'm very disappointed i wany my money back
- William (10/5): - The lady at the front desk was awesome!
- Nelson (2/5): They stole from me - Worst hotel I’ve ever been too in my life. Super rude. Nasty. Smells. Ghetto and literally I got ripped off. I paid for a room using hotels.com and then wanted to stay another night because it was late and my car was broken down. I had no where else to go so I purchased a room and paid cash at the hotel and then they told me that I had to leave at checkout time and upon speaking to the front desk they told me I never paid and I had to leave or call the cops. And I never got my money back and I just left after all that because I’m a nurse and never ripped someone off and they were trying to act like they never got paid or were about to get ripped off by me and I’m the one who got ripped off. I’m guessing the lady who worked at night pocketed my money or something but yeah they stole 70$ from me
- Carla (10/5): - Nice place to stay. Little pricey
- Cliff (6/5): - I liked and be back one day.
- lisa (10/5): - Great stay
- Sean (6/5): - First time I stayed, I realized that this is also a book by hour joint. You know, like a hooker hotel or wannabe brothel?
Still, my first night was pleasant. It's the 2nd booking that was terrible. Smelly and dirty on the backside. All you could smell was smoke.
Definitely staying here again!!
- Jill (2/5): - The room was dirty, the bed unmade, the room smelled like smoke and I refused to stay in the room but they would not give me a refund.
- Billy (2/5): Ok to stay here at your own risk. - The remote to the TV was broke the manger came and cut off the cable and was being very noisy looking around my room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Inexpensive hotel was ok, but the smell of smoke in the room was overwhelming.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not recommended - Motel was very sketchy and smelled musty. The sheets were stained and had holes all over the comforter. Thankfully no bed bugs, but the moment I stepped foot into the room, I came face-to-face with a roach. Needless to stay, I checked out immediately.
- lisa (10/5): - I stay here all the time
- Rachel (10/5): - Always a bice stay
- Lisa (10/5): - Love it
- Verified traveler (2/5): Hooker Highway - This place shouldn't be on the app. It is obviously a hooker hotel from the second I saw the lobby. Hand-written signs about "day rates" and "no refunds" all over the walls. I was forced to pay in full for the first night before I could see the room. I was strongly encouraged to pay in cash.
Then I saw the room. The stench of body odor and marijuana smoke was overwhelming. I returned to the lobby and was told no refunds. Avoid this place. I guarantee any positive reviews here are done by the owner's accomplices.
- Tashari (10/5): - Good stay
- Paresha (10/5): - Love it
- Verified traveler (4/5): You get what you pay for. - I walked in the room and the stench of cigarettes hit me in the face like a brick. No carpet in the room which is fine, but they needed to be mopped very badly.
- Paresha (10/5): - Good work I always recommend
- Verified traveler (2/5): NOT a place for families to stay - This is the WORST hotel I have ever walked into. The shower stall had cobwebs in it. There was a half roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and it wasn't even on the toilet paper holder. No channels on the TV other than porn. We walked in used the bathroom and checked out. The lady at the desk said checking out so soon? Next time only reserve the room for 1 hour!! We are senior citizens we were not there for a 1 hour stay!!
- Matthew (2/5): - This is the dirtest motel I have ever stayed in. There was a hair covering the shower drain and around the shower floor. The towels were dirty and disgusting. When I pulled the bed covers back the sheets had crumbs and dirt on them. When I told the front desk person what I observed she put all of it back on me. I would give this motel a negative 5 if I could. Absolutely terrible!
- Cliff (8/5): - I enjoy my stay
- Paresha (10/5): - Love it
- Michael (6/5): - After 2 horrible experiences with hotels in one day, this place seemed like a paradise. Clean, nicely appointed rooms, wood floors, update bath, and easy access were key features. The area was okay, and we didnt have any problems. For the price it was a serious win.
- sherry (2/5): don’t ever esp as a lone woman - it was a prositute hotel free porn on tv scary and disgusting i ended up leaving because there were dead lice when i turned back the sheets
- Autumn (6/5): Dingy, outdated but clean - We only stayed one night. The room was very outdated and dingy, but it was clean. The place was noisy all night long, so bring ear plugs!
- Joseph (6/5): The price reflects the quality - This was the first result that hotels.com returned when I needed a place to stay the same day. The rooms are updated but this is very much a cheap hotel with sketchy vibes. They allow smoking in the rooms, I had requested a non-smoking room but was given one that had been recently smoked in. Would only stay in this hotel again if I had no other options.
- Ayers (2/5): - Previously there was a smoker in the room. Do not stay here. Not clean. Unsafe
- Misty (2/5): - When we got there at 3:15 to check in she told us that we couldn't stay there because we had our 3yr old and 1yr old boys. She said they were considered guests and they couldn't stay. Ruined our entire vacation for our family. We ended up just going back home. We drove hours to get there and be denied our stay. Then had to turn around and drive 6 more hours back home. Will never recommend anyone to stay there
- James (6/5): - New updated bathrooms are nice but how do you drain the sink? No lever for stopper
- Dejuan (8/5): - Beautiful
- Ryan (2/5): - Bug infestation
- safa (2/5): - Everywhere smoke
- Mae (2/5): - .
- Stacie (8/5): - The property is very nice
- Tasha (10/5): - I love it there
- Isa (2/5): The 7.2 rating is questionable. Fake reviews? - My issue is with Hotels.com. the 7.2 rating is highly questionable. Fake reviews? Is there no vetting process, verified reviewer process by Hotels.com?
This hotel was a party hotel, used for Day use, adult entertainment, etc. Noise at night. Extreme smoke smell. comforter was not cleaned, had stains. remodeled but dated and had some indication of water damage from the past...potential mold.
- Robert (8/5): - For the reasonable price, the interiors are really nice. TV is bigger than the average. Kroger is a mile away and so are restaurants. Staff were nice. No coffee or breakfast but overall I'd stay there again for sure. Smoking is allowed in rooms so a plus for me. Downside is there are no peep holes in the doors. So when room service knocked I had to open the curtains. 8 out of 10 stars.
- andrianna (2/5): - It was run down and they do not accept children which did not say in the write up. I had to find another hotel with no notice.
- Rachel (10/5): - I love this hotel, the price is fair when booking thru this site, the rooms are clean, they even clean the room and change ur bed sheets on a stayover and everyone is so nice.
- Andreda (4/5): No Thank You! - The Shore Lodge has always been a go to for a night or two here and there
This past Holiday was horrible there was a roach in the bed..alot of dust behind the furniture...I will not be going back again. I did report it to the front desk and he said bugs sometimes comes thru the drain in restroom.
So that's a hard pass for me. Goodbye Shore Lodge!
- Ms. Math (2/5): - dirty
loud
- Mary Greene (4/5): It was ok. - The workers at the front desk are nice. The comforter had cigarette burnt holes, and the room had smoke smell and Im not a smoker.
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice.
Basic essentials.
- Curtis (2/5): - When checking into the motel, the receptionists initially refused to charge the room with the credit card on file and claimed to only accept payments in cash. That was a red flag. The receptionist directed me to an ATM at a gas station that had a strict withdrawal limit, prompting them to accept a split payment by cash & credit. Part way through my stay, a family emergency arose and I had to cancel the last two remaining days. The establishment refused to issue a refund. After receiving pressure from Expedia customer service, the motel said they would refund me for the two days. As of this review, it's been more than two weeks and no refund has been offered. Customer service was cold, not helpful, and management was always conveniently nowhere to be found. It was one of my worst experiences in a motel. I would never recommend anyone to stay here.
- Stony (2/5): - Terrible customer service. Tried to force me to pay cash. Burn holes in the comforter and the sheets in a non smoking room. Not a quality neighborhood. Loud music all night. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Garbage: Rooms By The Hour - I am offended that Hotels.com has this place available. Even tho I needed a particular location and low price, I did not expect a place that also rents rooms by the hour. The staunch stank of stale smoke, not clean, doesn't use fitted sheets. And, they didn't have my reservation which I should have taken as a sign. I'm so disgusted. I booked two nights, I didn't even leave any of my belongings there during the day for fear of it absorbing the smell. I just didn't expect this kind of room via this site, but now that I know will definitely do better research.
- judy (6/5): - Wallpaper falling of the wall in bathroom. Shady hotel guests for sure. Would never stay again.
- bridgot (8/5): - Good
- Calvin (10/5): S#!+ in the game - Love this place! Nice rooms for the price but you should be able to negotiate without getting a better price on the app, get that??
- Sean (4/5): Not recommended - Room was filthy. Felt like I needed to wash my hands every time I touched something. The entire property reeked of weed.
- Tamra (4/5): - The property looks like a hot bed for prostitution and transients when you step into the front office. NOT ADA/HANDICAP COMPLIANT. They were unable to find my reservations. After hobbling back down the stairs on my crutches and out to the car to get my phone, and back up the stairs into the office to show the woman my Expedia confirm (she took care of every other customer in the lobby before me while I stood there on crutches with a broken foot) she finally checked her other email and found it. The room was clean and updated, bathroom was updated. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. Despite making a reservation for 2 guests (1 king size room for 2 ppl) the front office refused to provide two room keys. There were only enough towels in the room for one person, and the front desk would not provide more. This was the most disappointing stay I have ever experienced and this SHOULD NOT be an Expedia property. I expect more when booking an Expedia property. Enough towels and a room key for each guest is a bare minimum.
- bridgot (10/5): - GREAT STAFF
- David (8/5): - Nice
- Christina (8/5): - No complaints. The price was fair. An the restaurant is nice to have right there
- Ciera (10/5): - It was perfect timing due to natural disasters
- Sue (8/5): Quiet neighborhood - Although the decor was dated, the room was clean. The pillows and bath towels were older, so I brought my own.
- Sue (8/5): Quiet area and friendly staff - Overall my room was clean and although probably considered a bit outdated by some, this didn't bother me. My only 2 complaints was the worn, thin and old bath towels and fact that apparently smoking is allowed in the rooms as there was an ashtray in my room and the musty, stale smell of smoke.
- bridgot (8/5): - Good
- T (8/5): - Always comfy... Place to get some rest
- Ronald (10/5): - Typical motel room would be nice to have a coffee maker lol
- lisa (2/5): - My stay was not ok someone had keys to my room and walked in while I was in bed.
- Dorothy (2/5): - This place has bed bugs and when you try to get a refund they refuse to give you a refund just “move you to another room.” I’m sorry if they are in one spot they are pretty much everywhere. Rude night person who ignored the fact I was getting rushed to the hospital and says sorry can’t help you.
- bridgot (10/5): - Friendly Staff
- Vitaliy V (2/5): - Dishonest owners. Don't honor Expedia confirmed reservation. Charged upper fees.
Hotel is dirty and smelly.
- Al (8/5): - For a one stat room was ok. Rquested a non-smoking room but only smoking room available.
- Shaun (2/5): - Bugs in my room in the bed I didn’t sleep fr I sat up in chair dose off woke up and left smh
- John (2/5): Not great - I was looking for a cheap place to stay while I visited my mother in the hospital. I chose this place. And yes, you get what you pay for. This place is a dump. Doesn’t even feel safe. (You can even rent rooms for 3 hours at a time…it’s that kind of place.) I don’t blame the place, it is what it is and I chose it. But if you choose this place, understand what you’re signing up for.
- Candace (6/5): - The condition of the room was not adequate for the price. I have never stayed in a motel that was $70 a night but didn't have a mini fridge and microwave. The bedding was horrendous and the pillows were so old and flat that the stuffing was separated inside. Not worth $70 that is for sure. Maybe $40!
- Jessica (6/5): - No ice buckets. Have to use bags n dont know till you at the room. Half way cleaned. Socks be in the corners. Need to atleast air the rooms out
- kurt (2/5): - Smoke in the rooms. Disgusting
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great - Overall my stay was great, I had no complaints 😊
- Wendi (8/5): - It was food
- Asia (2/5): - The room we were put in had bedbugs. One was on my chest when I woke up this morning. I was bitten on my arm as well
- Jose (2/5): - They canceled my reservation without asking, I had to go to a different hotel.
- Joni (6/5): No frills. Seriously. NO FRILLS. - Check in was good. The cashier let us know immediately that there were no non-smoking rooms available-which was what we reserved. She gave us the option to check the room out first, and make a decision. TBH, it was no worse than hotels that were once smoking rooms, but now not. It worked for us.
- Kimberly (6/5): Meh - Ok. For what I was there for, it was ok. Not great. Wouldn’t sleep there.
- Angel (6/5): Relaxs - Its just what it shows you nothing more less.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Unnamed Review - Noises thru the walls and our ceiling. Lots of traffic in parking lot.
- Mike (8/5): - Adequate for my needs.
