Guest Reviews
- Carolyn (2/5): - The motel was closed and converted to migrant apartments 2 months ago according to the locals. We got there at midnight and had to scramble to find another motel. TERRIBLE 1st time Expedia experience. We want our money back.
- John (2/5): closed - sign on the door stayed that the hotel was closed no one inside
- Robert (2/5): - I've walked this planet now for 61 years and this is probably one of the most disgusting rooms that I've ever stayed in. Filthy carpet, filthy stained tub, black mold on bathroom ceiling, sooooo many issues too numerous to talk about here but will post a video on my StarrTile channel on YouTube. The worst was the chiggers OR bedbugs, not sure which it was that left raised itchy bumps on armpits and upper chest ! Never experienced that before in my life..I bought insect spray, fogger and bleach by day 2 but did no good.
The only good part was the $25 I wasted on those products was offset by management giving last night free...BUT the $88 a night was a ripoff to begin with, this dump was barely worth $20 a night.
The unfortunate thing is they closed down the day I left so this review won't help anyone.
- Shannon (10/5): - Clean! And nicely updated
- Mara (4/5): - When you first walked into room, it looked very clean. Then I noticed an odor. Bed was raised high therefore making sitting on bed uncomfortable. Bed had plastic sheet taped to it with duck tape under bedsheet that kept coming off in corner.
The fridge/freezer wasn’t defrosted. The wall next to the other bed had a huge hole in it. Bathtub was filthy and I saw the housekeeper and she apologized and took care of the matter quickly.
Years ago I stayed here and it was very nice and I assumed it was going to be the same. I was wrong. I won’t be coming back to this place again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very Disappointed ☹️ - The place is old and needs repair and updated. The bed was like sleeping in a bowl. There was only a fridge in the room no coffee pot or anything. Oh talking about coffee we went to the office lobby that you couldn’t enter lol. So we asked for coffee at the window and the lady said we could only have one cup because coffee was to high. Oh yeah please be careful in the tub there’s no anti slip pads and you will slip like I did. But anyway if you just need a place to crash it’s ok.
- Will (6/5): Keep your expectations low and it's fine. - It was ok. Could use a lot of cosmetic face-lifts, but everything was functional and working - (except the aerator in the jetted tub).
- HARRY (2/5): - It is impossible for me to understand how this place garnered one star, nevermind 2.5. Just walking into the room I was immediately accosted by an overwhelming smell of mold. There were four lights in the sleeping area. Two functioned. The shower closet was dimly lit, although shampoo and soap was provided. I was, however, greeted by a silverfish on the edge of the tub. The sink area was illuminated by one florescent light over the sink with the mirror bordered by a cork product, the bottom of which was peeling and ragged. Neither the tub nor the sink had drain stoppers. The provided TV had electrical wires exposed below the TV and was plugged into an outlet that was not secured to the wall. Room security was laughable. The door handle was loose and wriggled in the door. The deadbolt, such as it was, provided no additional assurance. The parking lot was dimly lit and not otherwise secure. In short, this place was not worth anywhere what was paid for a two night stay. I was visiting relatives which I will visit again but I will never stay in this place again. Has anyone from Expedia ever done any kind of inspection there?
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was dirty and everything was very old. It smelled
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The rooms was in very poor condition bedding was. Not clean rug was so dirty the. Found out dY we was leaving they had roaches
- Mary (4/5): don’t bother! - Threadbare towels, asked for hangers to hang clothes, told they didn’t have any, very rudely. No lid on the toilet seat.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Old Florida hotel that worked for our purpose. Really surprised to find a laundry bag and tissue!
- Baronet39 (2/5): Find somewhere else! - Spent two nights here .Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Threadbare towels, no toilet seat cover, cracked sink. Remote didn’t work. With one exception, rude staff. Had to stand in line at office to get 1’bucket of ice
- Joanna (2/5): Do not stay here - Reserved double queen, no smoking, ground floor because husband handicapped. Queen beds only thing right. Hubby barely made it up steps.
Room smelled like an ashtray, dirty, german cockroaches and stained sheets. If I wasn't stuck by this point(don't know area at all) I would've left.
Wifi did not work in room at all! This place is a travelers nightmare at an expensive price.
I would like all my monies back at this point. DO NOT STAY HERE!
This is not sour grapes, I'm being truthful. Its just nasty. Joanna Stone
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It is very quiet and the staff was great just didn't like the bed to soft
- Robert (2/5): - They had me without water for 14hrs staff VERY unprofessional looked like druggies will never stay there again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well the television in the room didn't work the cable box was missing yeah i went straight up there after like look man this is what's wrong with the TV and they come down there and the cable is there someone has stole the cable box.. but management immediately made it right gave me a different room but to my satisfaction i was pleased
- Ivan (2/5): - Roaches in the bed, broken doors and crackheads
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not enough lightening needed more restaurants within walking distance
- Verified traveler (2/5): - room in very poor condition, old everything. Pictures on website very misleading! Room stunk from smoke and not having fresh air for months!
We checked the room and left after seeing it. Your "No Refund" policy is very bad when we cannont see the room before committing. We will not use Orbitz again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fast service and clean too.s for an older hotel. .....................
- Verified traveler (2/5): - the bathroom was very disgusting there was roaches crawling around the room floors walls and celings and all. very disgusting wouldnt rent fromm there to put animals.
- Laura (4/5): - The room needs to be uodated. There were roaches and the shower was disgustung mold everywhere
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I love the pet area. I came from northern California for a week on vacation. I have a small dog (around 12lbs.) And i didnt think bringing her would even be an option. Now ive learned that i could have brought my dog on the plane as carry on luggage. Then, to learn that Emerald Sands allows small pets and their is even a dog area is a game changer. Thank you for everything and i will be back, with my doggy
- Sarai (6/5): - There were fleas because of the dog next door. I got bite up badly.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Keep Away - The nastiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The smell is awful and the rooms are even nastier. Everything is broken and has not been cleaned in forever. I left and got my money back. For the price you can find other hotels that are much better. I can only hope that the state shuts them down.
- Richard M (2/5): - WELL WE GOT WOKE UP AT 3:30AM WITH ROACHES CRAWLING EVERYWHERE. I WILL NEVER SAY ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT THIS PLACE. I ASK FOR A REFUND AND WAS DENIED. NEVER WILL WE STAY THERE AGAIN. THE CONDITION OF THE ROOM WAS PITIFUL. PEAL AND STICK TILES IN THE BATHROOM THAT WAS CURLED UP. BATH TUB WAS PATCHED UP. PITIFUL....THEY SHOULD CLOSE THE BUSINESS AND BULL DOZE THE MOTEL. SAD WHEN YOU CAN LAY IN THREAD BAREN SHEETS THAT HAS BODY ODER AND WATCH ROACHES CRAWL ALL OVER THE CIELING AND BATHROOM.
- Ronda (8/5): - The place could have been cleaner. Floors need a good shampoo
- John (4/5): - What I did like was close proximity to my my friends that I was visiting. The rooms were In dire need of a remodel. The staff was friendly, the building was sub par at best.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Front desk staff was friendly and check in was fast. However, there were roaches in the room including inside the fridge.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was showing its age but it was suitable for us.
- Angelique (4/5): - The hotel was over all ok. The rooms were out dated. The pool hours were in consistent. The ice machine was broken. It was clean enough. Somewhere I would stay for a night or two max. We had problems from the jump. At check in the card machine was down and when we finally got to our room the key didn’t work.
- DawnEdwards19 (2/5): Disgusting and Racist Hotel!! Keep driving! - The hotel is disgusting and dirty! My son was bitten by a dog while staying there, and instead of the people with the dog being asked to leave they threw my son out, and refused to refund him for two nights he paid cash for!! The dog was taken into custody and will be in custody for 10 days. We will be suing.
- karen (2/5): Roach motel. - The lady at the desk was very nice. The room was roach infested. My daughter called it a roach motel. The floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. A there was a dog that barked all hours. The internet didn't work. We won't be staying there again.
- Pixie (6/5): BAD!!! - The original checkin was awful. I am in a wheelchair and I had spoken to them about this Days prior and was told that there would be ramps available for me with no problems. That was NOT the case. Checkin was done at the front desk with my husband running from desk to outside lobby with my credit card and ID. There was no ramp and the assistant manager took the only ramp from a longtime resident for me to use overnight. The ramp had a major crack in it and totally broke when I exited the room. Being listed with Hotels.com was probably the only way for them to get bookings. They are an old motel that has not been kept up at all. They are not very clean and if we had not needed a place to stay only one night we would not have stayed. We will NEVER stay there again!
- Debra (4/5): - no frills means that, dated linens that are monitored and issued by piece, in need of renovations. WIFI by office and near rooms only
- wilma (2/5): Not what I saw on the website - I thought the pictures did not match what the hotel looked like. I had cigarette burns in the sheets, there was a filthy tore up couch in my room, it smelled bad, and I did not sleep all night because of the surrounding noise.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The phone in my room did not work I was told the motel was built in the '70's. It shows. The internet connection was spotty at best.
- fidgetspinupyours (2/5): Roaches Everywhere - Roaches in apartment 27. On the wall, in the vents, in the furniture, coming out of the baseboards. Makes Joe's Place look sanitary. Pick up the remote, there is a roach on it. Open the fridge and one falls off the door. EVERYWHERE.....roaches....on the roof....and nothing is being done about it. My family has spent hundreds of dollars to kill them, trap them and try and wipe them out but no luck. And emeralds Sands allows the roaches to continue. My 98 year old grandmother lives there and we have tried to get her to move. But at her age it takes so much just to start over somewhere else. Someone should report them somehow....
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It wouldve been a better stay if staff was more hospitable.
- Glenna S (2/5): Worst Experience Ever - Pulled up to this “motel” to find the door locked with a sign saying, “Call this number...”
Homeless guy sitting in the front of the motel and three cops parked in the back parking lot. Those pictures featured on hotels.com MUST BE 40 years old.
- Skylark205 (2/5): Keep Driving - I have reviewed this place twice before and it has not been published. This place is disgusting. The room was not clean, there were coffee rings on the bathroom counter, grime and dust everywhere. We were told it had been refurbished but the light fixture was falling off the wall. I am not sure the sheets were washed after the last or I don't know how many guests. The staff are nice enough but I think they live in a different reality.
- Gail (2/5): - The picture shown is of their apartment or extended-stay buildings. For a single-night stay, they directed us to a building on the far side of the property, which appeared to be about 100 years old. Although spacious and with a new mini-fridge and microwave, the room was filthy and bugs were crawling everywhere. The lock on the door was so feeble, we actually put a chair under the doorknob and did not sleep well at all. The mattress seemed to be about 20 years old, in that it was sagging before we even sat on it, and it felt much like sleeping on a trampoline - any slightest movement set off an earthquake.
- Scott (8/5): Vacation - Good
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Shady area. Clean room. Not worth saving a few bucks.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Great staff - Great night friendly staff. Great location for food.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Good size room but sickening mold. I was moved to another room but there was mold there too, but not enough to make you sick. For $50 on line, I guess you get what you pay for.
- Naomi (6/5): Sort beach trip - We enjoyed Pensacola Beach and looked for a safe, cheap clean room for the night, we were on a tight budget and this place worked. If you want a basic room with a decent bed and ac plus a bathroom, then this will work, do not expect the Marriot, because this ain't it, but worked for us.
- Robert (10/5): - Quiet like staffand location in the middle of the city close to Pensacola also is the only hotel I go to in Milton
- Verified traveler (2/5): Old mildew - Room smelled like smoke they didn't have my room that i wanted put me in a roach room
- Verified traveler (2/5): not recommended - overall very poor conditions. Would not recommend unless in a desperate need for lodging.
- Michael (4/5): where do I start - There were roaches, there was no hot water, we were given blankets with no top sheet and the beds were hard as rocks! Ya needed 2 remotes for the tv (one for on/off and volume and one for channels)! Only thing good about it was the maid was nice and the microwave and fridge worked good! My opinion they should be removed from expedia!!! They gave us a different (shabby) room when we refused to pay the higher charge than we were given online! Didn't even look close to their pictures on expedia! REDICULOUS
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible Place - Smelled terrible of smoking, although I asked for a non-smoking room. It had weird little flies and giant palmetto bugs. Everything was old and yucky and the TV did not work.
I do not need a fancy place when I travel, but it must be smoke free, clean and bug free.
The photos I saw to book it are nothing like its true condition.
- Jenny (6/5): - Staff was not friendly room was not clean room had no towels at all
- Leanne (2/5): Most disgusting place ever - This place was the worst place I have ever stayed in. After entering the room I had to leave right away before I vommitted for the awful smell. There were also ticks and multiple bugs found on the floor and the carpet was filthy! The lady showed me through 2 other rooms that were also the same. After trying the motels in the area, they were all booked, so only option was to sleep in the car or the third room she had shown us. So went to Walmart and brought bleach and other cleaning products to disinfect the room to make It the slightest bit bare able to stay in. Thank god we were only there for one night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The front desk was very friendly, the room was cleaned and spacious , the pool was cleaned it was well worth the wait
- Verified traveler (2/5): - What a nightmare! Room STUNK, cockroaches running up and down walls. If you stepped on tiles in bathroom, water bubbled up, and half the lights did not work. Air conditioner had broken operation panel so you did not know which button did what.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was fantastic! Very friendly!
- 995blanchep (2/5): Walls are crawling - There were roaches on the ceiling, the walls, and crawling inside the sink bowl. The livestock were the problems, though the room was quite dark because not all of the lights worked. The room was much too dim for taking a photo of the roaches.
There was a working air conditioning unit, but there was a broken control knob and no labels under the control, so changing the setting was guesswork.
The room has a microwave and refrigerator, convenient for fixing convenience foods. The unit didn't appear particularly dirty, and the bed linens were clean. There was only one person in management to handle all of the units, so check-in was a very busy time.
- Kristopher (6/5): - Gross
- Jennifer (8/5): You get what you pay for. - I was not too happy about the apartments around us. There was a car sitting in the lot without a tire, a rusted trailer, and just a general feel of danger. But I was highly surprised to find no danger at all. Any of the guests and staff we came into contact with were friendly. I came to the conclusion that I am just not used to what poverty really looks like and that having less money does not make people bad.
The room stank like mold. The carpet was really old. There were stains in the sink and bathtub. I was afraid to let any clothes touch the floor. But, I can see why upgrading is not a top priority. The hotel would not be able to charge such a low amount per night of they paid to upgrade.
The staff was amazing. They were super nice, beyond anything I have ever experienced before this stay.
The one thing I would have liked to have had differently is that one of the beds sunk down on one side. Luckily there were only three of us staying and we did not have to worry about someone sleeping in that spot.
- Steve (10/5): - The room was newly renovated and clean. The check in was lightning fast and the desk clerk Betty just a great lady. I had an issue with a missing remote, and within minutes maintenance staff arrived to program a new one.this was at 9:00pm at the start of memorial day weekend. Thanks men!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good value for the price.
- Mopjky (8/5): - Room very outdated and in need of numerouse repairs...mattress was old as Methusala. But comfy.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - staff is very friendly and nice, but room is need to be more clean.
- Russ (6/5): Inexpensive older price point location - Good place, few chips on the paint. The staff do a great job. It's an older place but if you're wanting to get away for a bit to the beach and the idea of $$$ a night beachfront sticks in your wallet, this is your place. Convienient to everything in Milton, and easy access to I-10.
- 386nathang (2/5): One night stay - This place is disgusting. The front staff were very nice but that doesn’t make up for the room. The price for the room should be $30 not $74. Never again. Wish I would of read the reviews on here first.
- troy (4/5): - Stay with y'all a lot this is one property you should drop very bad part of town
- Jaq777 (2/5): BAD - Don't stay here. My friends stayed there it is dirty the staff are rude. The police are called out repeatedly to this motel. Stay at the Red roof Inn on Avalon about five miles away that is very nice.
- Debbie (6/5): Alright - Ok
- Heather (2/5): Disgusting - This place was disgusting. We ended up leaving and going to another hotel. It was filthy, lamps falling off wall, the stench was horrible! Don't stay here!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very dissapointed was shocked felr uncomfortable left & found someplace else
- John (10/5): - Everything went smooth from check in to check out.
- 968alessiog (4/5): A bad night - The bedroom was horrible and it was very dirty. I went there because my car stopped on the street, and it was the closer hotel. The worst idea of my life. It could be better to sleep in the car. The woman at the reception was very gently.
- marco (6/5): Travel stop - Just stayed overnight on my way to San Antonio tired of driving front lady was really slow abt check in room is in very bad condition not recommend for family very cold night and bed only had a very thin sheet shower falling apart and counter also breaking in pieces . Toilet was clogged.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not a place that I will stay again. Too run down for me.
- bruce (8/5): Nice room - It was only one night but close to town it was really nice
- Verified traveler (2/5): The worst place I have booked on Travelvelocity - The room was filled with cigarette smoke, even though we asked for a nonsmoking room. There were no blankets on the bed just thread bare sheets and a old dirty comforter folded at the end of the bed. The walls in the bathroom were dirty. We asked for another room and we were told there wasn't another room. We did not stay the second night, I would have rather have slept in my car.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great choice - Great choice! Clean, fast check-in and perfect for the price! I also love it's breakfast. You can have a complete meal!
- Tiffany (8/5): Great for the price - I paid $50 for the night so I wasnt expecting much. Front desk staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was nice and cool when we got there. There were snacks and drinks to purchase in the lobby. Places to eat within a couple minutes drive. I'd stay again
- James (10/5): Necessity - I got the room for my family while we were in the middle of moving out of our home.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not the best - It's a place to stay the night. Didn't seem like the best/safest area. We felt nervous leaving our belongings in the room to go out for a couple hours. Terrible smell, cigarettes and mildew. Tape on the carpet. Gross shower, shower rod actually fell down and hit me. Saw a couple bugs, but the bed seemed clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - WIFI was very weak.
- nolak269 (4/5): Disgusting!! - We had the unfortunate occasion to stay at this motel (I use the term loosely) it was disgusting!! They claim a kitchenette, joke!! A refrigerator that stunk every time it was opened, a microwave that did not work!! Absolutely no coffee maker. No dishes or even glasses. The linen was filthy. I had to call them to replace the sheets. When they did they said they were not dirty just old. Paid $79 a night for old dirty linens. Water in shower took 20 minutes to warm up enough to take a shower. We were afraid to turn on the lights because when we did the roaches would run. We had an air conditioner but it ran constantly and never removed any humidity from the room hence the roaches and crawling bugs throughout the room. It is a shame that these places are allowed to continue to operate at such high prices!! It is probably why there were so many transients living there which is the only reason they show "no vacancy"! It is definitely not because they are customer oriented!! Please do not stay here! Pay a little more for a decent hotel!!
- TiredGrandma (2/5): Emerald Sands is the worst! Don't stay here!! - Apparently, this place was remodeled, so my in laws reserved this motel for our Thanksgiving arrival! The only so-called remodel was in the bathroom!
With accidents on I10, we arrived late around 11pm, With two adults and three of my grandkids in tow, there were only two sets of towels, no trundle bed. I ran to the office since the phone was not working to get more towels, it was rolled up, and when I opened them, they were all stained....brown!! So we shared the towels we had, put our blankets and pillows on top of the bed and went to sleep.
*i would not sleep in those beds, or use their towels!!
- shattuck81 (6/5): Not bad when you didn't know you would need a room - I was not planning on having to rent a room on Christmas eve but I did this was the only hotel close to where I needed to be. This is no 4star hotel but it did have a clean room and nice and friendly staff.
- Linda0662015 (2/5): Absolutely horrible place! - Working storm restoration & little availability of rooms due to evacuation from hurricane Matthew but we never realized the rooms at this place were so bad and nasty! Only had audio on tv no video, nasty carpet, room smelled moldly, spa tub with shower head but no shower curtain, broken pieces of tile around tub, leaking toilet, some popping noise..don't know if it was coming from the a/c or what but it was creepy. Didn't sleep very well and couldn't wait to leave. Not worth the money or ones safety!! Would not recommend staying here!!
- 962jeannieh (2/5): Thoroughly appalled and disgusted!!! - The fact that is motel is even allowed to remain open by the Health Code Violation Department is appalling! And the fact that Hotels.Com is continuing to keep them on their Web site and advertising for them is equally appalling knowing that what they are advertising for the motel is COMPLETELY FALSE!! I have NEVER seen such a disgusting and unsanitary motel in my life!! Allow me to elaborate..Pulling into the parking lot I couldnt help but to first notice the tarps covering many parts of the motels roof, as well as the trash and garbage that littered the grounds. After getting the key and finding the room (simply to exam the room and take photos..I already knew there was NO WAY I would be staying there!)I was "greeted" by 3 individuals making a drug deal next to my door. As soon as entering the room the most foul odor met me at the door! I was honestly skeptical about even entering the room to take the photographs! But what I captured in my photos are as follows: Black tape was holding the carpet together, multiple places on the wall where plaster had filled many holes but was not painted over, simply a bare, DNA stained mattress with no Linens whatsoever on the bed, large splats of God only knows what running down the wall, a moldy leaking air conditioner unit, smoke stained and miss matching curtains on a bent rod not allowing the curtains to fully close, a broken cloths rack simply hanging off the wall, a large mirror that you could not even see your reflection in because of the amount of smoke and drug residue that was caked on the mirror, the bathroom looked as though it had not been cleaned in years! NO LESS than 30 cigarette burns on the front side of the tub, tiles that had fallen off the wall around the tub that had simply been leaned up against the wall where they once were, more bare plaster covering holes in the bathroom walls, and what looked to be black mold around the tub and tolet. Again, I CAN NOT STRESS how unsanitary and disgusting this Motel is!! I would sleep in my car before I ever stay in this disease infested Motel!!! Thank God Hotel.Com did find me another room, but NOT before spending almost 2 hours on the phone fighting with them over this!! One thing is for certain I will NEVER again book ANY hotel through Hotel.com! SHAME ON YOU!!!
- I449LMlauras (2/5): Awful, should be shutdown by the health department! - The pictures are not the reality. This place is disgusting! The carpet, if it is carpet is damp, black, spungy, your feet will turn black. The tub had patches with piles of wet caulking so you couldn't use it. The sheets thin and you could see big stains under them. Some shady people hanging outside, living there I suppose. The pool was gray and cloudy looking with all the neighbors partying there. Door lock broken, so scared I couldn't sleep, could not wait to leave!
- 461damienw (2/5): ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! - The room we stayed in had some major problems, such as the sink drain was clogged, the bathroom was just dirty and cracks everywhere the tub was so nasty. the table in the kitchen area was broken the t.v was broken the remote did not work the fridge did not work. we had told them about the problems and were told that a maintenance guy would come take a look at it and he never showed. I was walked in on naked by the maid!!! She DID NOT knock. The door to the room was broken, you could literally just shove it open. the pool was not open the laundry facility ha!!! I would never put my clothes in there and only one set of washer/dryers even worked. I had to put a piece of gorilla tape on the door because there was a huge crack in it that bugs were getting through (you're welcome). also the a.c. unit was falling out of the wall and we could see through to the outside. they had tried to tape it and it was totally ridiculous and ghetto looking. dirty.. we had our cat with us and when we left and came back after we had already received maid service in the morning, someone had come into our room.! if I had to choose again I would have absolutely chosen to camp outside before I stayed here.the only thing good I can say is that some of the staff was not terrible, and some were helpful. There were tons of drug addicts and shady people as well, the cops were here almost every night, multiple times a night during our stay. Wifi is extremely weak and didn't work half the time. Do not stay here, drive the 15 miles or so from the Holiday Inn off the highway, or check out Regency Inn and Suites down the road.
- ilsep2013 (2/5): Can't believe its allowed to be opened! - Stay in motel side. You have 15 minutes to check your room otherwise they won't let you complain or switch rooms. Well with that said, if you like your health do not stay here. The carpet turned my feet black, bathroom walls covered in mold. I physical scrubbed the bathroom walls with bleach to get rid of the mildew smell. Took apart ac unit a scrapped 1 1/4 inch of crud ( I have no clue what it was!) Bought wire brush & totally awesome to clean the fins, soaked cover in bath tub to remove the black mold growing in the cover. Needless to say, the fourth day sick as can be we packed up & left counted our losses, we had paid for 1 full week. Please use caution at this location.
- charlenejordan001 (8/5): Asst supervisor - For a motel in town rates are reasonable. Very friendly staff. Rooms are big and some updates are being done. Very southern atmosphere type motel. Has a wash facility for guests. Has a pool but not open at time of my visit
- THOMASM667 (2/5): Roach Hotel - Ignore any good ratings of this hotel...they are put up by the hotel or others paid to do so. I paid for 3 nights at this place and left after the 2nd. Roaches and spiders crawled over me all night long. It's a rat nest and the health department should have closed it down years ago. The bath tub was corroded, nasty and filthy. The bathroom door was rotted off at the bottom as was the wooden towel rack. The floors nasty and sticky... as was every piece of furniture in the room.... and did I mention the roaches... they were ALL OVER THE PLACE! This the nastiest place I have ever seen, let alone been in. AND the price wasn't all that cheap either. The hotel (Inn) rents the hotel out by the week and month to people that don't care about sanitation, thus the roaches ect. If you stay in this place then it's because you just didn't know about it, or you are already nasty and this probably doesn't matter, but do yourself a favor otherwise and stay somewhere else even if the cost is MUCH more. (I'm talking MUCH more) The TV and the wireless Internet didn't work, the sink didn't have a plug (not that I could use it) and even the beds were nasty and on and on and on.... UNBELIEVABLE! The one saving grace is that the people were very nice. However the hotel also rents out uhaul trucks and equipment, so their ability to help me was very limited in that they spent almost all of their time tending to that business. I know that this is a long commentary, but if I can save at least one little child's life it's worth it to me.
- robinjordan (4/5): Not the best, not the worst - Bed was uncomfortable. Wasn't too pleased when front office called us and asked us not to use the shower or hot tub. The area was loud. Looks like the outside rooms are actually apartments. The landscape wasn't appealing either. U-Haul trucks and trailers on front lawn.
- HollyO179 (8/5): Great Hospitality - We had 8 rooms for our Adult Baseball Team. The Rooms were perfect, clean Sheets, comfortable beds and NO BUGS!!!
The Staff was Absolutely Wonderful and the Hospitality was awesome. On site security made you feel very safe in a town we weren't familiar with. This is an American owned Family Motel. The FULLTIME residents in the apartments on the property were very nice and Friendly.
Our Last night there our Baseball team had a 6 hour Woffle Ball game. Most of the residents Enjoyed watching the guys with their girlfriends/wives having fun and playing in the courtyard.
If you want a great down to earth and safe place to stay....this is the best for southern Hospitality. Thank You Emerald Sands Inn. The Tallahassee Rays appreciate all you Kindness.
