Guest Reviews
- DB (10/5): I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I have never stayed at a Mainstay! -
- KristiJo (9/5): I went to Sidney to visit family. I got the suite and was able to host a meal in my room - The breakfast was very good and the room was exceptionally clean The location is not great. But not far out of the way.
- McCullough (10/5): -
- Richard A. (10/5): - Nice hotel that's convenient to downtown. The area is safe and very clean. The room we had was clean new and spacious with all the amenities.
- Reine (8/5): - The breakfast that we had everyday was absolutely delicious! Included with our stay every day. Fresh waffles and eggs đ
- Lance (10/5): - Rooms are very clean and organized. Beds are comfortable and clean. No stains on the sheets. Great open parking lot with lots of space.
- JULIE (6/5): No maid service entire stay - No maid service at all!!
- Chad (8/5): - Clean large rooms. Breakfast was great every morning. We would definitely stay there again.
- jean (8/5): - Perfect for our needs.
- Jennifer (3/5): Yuk! - Location, close to my relatives home. 1) Additional fee hold at check-in $793.61 I had paid in full before arrival.
2) Never cleaned my room during the 10 days stay.
3) Had to beg for clean towels
4) Had to beg for toilet paper
5) Breakfast, too much cheese! Allergic. On eggs every morning! Yuk!
This was my 4th visit, I was appalled this time.
- Alain (6/5): - Floor was sticky and soap packet had been opened and soap was slightly used. Don't trust the cleaning was as it should be. They seem very understaffed.
- Lance (10/5): - Really good breakfast. Hotel was clean and nice. Spacious room.
- Darin (6/5): - Clean and comfortable. The cleaning stuff was great. The front desk staff came across as bothered from check-in until check-out. The last guy to help me was great!
- Bertram (10/5): Great manager and staff.thank you - The management
- FromThe361 (10/5): Far beyond (positively) beyond what one expects for a MainStay Suites - Breakfast is a star of the show here. Two flavors of waffles, two different hot entrees, four General Mills cereal choices, three juice choices -- all in a clean, spacious, well-furnished, welcoming dining room with ample seating. I'll also give credit for the well-packed pantry of items for purchase near the front desk. The room was large and clean. We chose the two-queen-beds, one-king bed, one-bedroom suite -- which came at a great price. The living room also had a sofa and ottoman, kitchenette with full-size refrigerator, and a large L-shaped desk. The separate bedroom was sparsely furnished but offered plenty of space.
- Randie (6/5): - Could hear everything outside and in.
- Jennifer (10/5): - This is a clean hotel with really friendly staff. My only complaint is our room smelled of smoke, especially the bathroom. It wasnât enough to make us leave and I know this hotel is all non-smoking now, but the rooms have definitely been smoked in previously. Just something to consider if traveling with kids or allergy sensitivities.
- Michael (5/5): Passable - TV never worked right. Had an ad popping up in the corner the whole time. Staff didn't know how to fix it so just had to deal with it.
- Travis (10/5): - Great quality and value
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (4/5): - This room was a nice room but,
Window was unlocked and opened. Very difficult to close and lock.
Ice machine broken
Laundry out of order
Breakfast was very poor in quality and freshness. Lots of cereal but said they were out of milk. Stale muffins.
The property was nice so it was sad to see the neglect of other amenities.
- Brenda (10/5): - I would stay here again.
- Thomas (9/5): Clean, comfortable, nice place. - Had a couple days in Sidney with family. Got one of the "suites." It was nice to have the extra room and some cooking facilities. Very clean, comfortable, and updated rooms. Nice place.
- Ethan (10/5): - Good people
- David (10/5): - The property was great. The only problem was that there was a group of guys drinking and being obnoxious in the breakfast area in the morning.
Otherwise everything was wonderful.
- Buys (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (4/5): Disappointing - The worker was rude, tried to give me hard time with credit card, tried to change things when all I wanted was a 12pm check out. He made it very difficult for me. Then, he said, he couldn't help me and that it would be up to me and management to have that discussion and then, started to yell at me while I was walking away bc he wasn't making sense or being helpful at all. It was late, I did call and make arrangements and those workers were very helpful and courteous. It was just awful experience checking in.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- alexis (10/5): - Everyone was kind and it was very clean
- Nomad55194692180 (2/5): FILTHY - FILTHY
Morning desk clerk staff is rude.
BTW - there's no daily maid service - only weekly.
Since they didn't provide maid service, after 4d they said they would replenish the towels and take out the trash. After 12h - nothing.
Internet? nonfunctional.
thought it might be nice to open the window, but there were dead flies on the windowsill and old bird droppings on the window screen - on the inside! see pictures.
Toilet stopped working on day 2 (no water return) and the common areas were filthy.
- Axl (10/5): - Very pleasant.
- Zak (2/5): - Dirty beds and bathroom.
- Tyler (4/5): Disappointing - The fact that I had a room booked for 4 nights and told them I was gonna need the room until the 19th so don't book it and I go to the desk on Wednesday to pay through the 19th and they said they booked my room for someone else. I'm work in the oil fields and spent a lot of money on hotels and yall will never get another penny from me of any of the guys I with.
- Bruce (7/5): Good -
- Sheila (8/5): Not bad - The room was huge , I believe it was a handicap room. Everything was great except when we went down to eat there wasnât a lot of food and the coffee machine was broken , they had a thermos out but coffee was nasty. The elevator was down and our friend that was staying there 2nd floor just had knee replacement and some health issues had to use stairs. I wouldnât recommend staying there for one night but if it was an extended stay it would be perfect because of size and kitchen.
- Lorraine (10/5): Great value and comfortable - Beds very comfortable. Staff very nice. Location was perfect for visiting the Sidney Extended Care facility. Nothing.
- Keri (8/5): - closest to the fairgrounds, easy access
- Anonymous (9/5): Good price - Easy access Nothing
- Cameron (8/5): - The rooms were a great size and love the kitchenette. I picked this hotel due to the size and equipment shown in the gym. The gym was quite chilly at 53 degrees one morning and 42 degrees the next. I am sure the thermostat is set to turn on with motion in the room, but maybe there should be a minimum to kick it on. Otherwise i did have everything i needed for the workout. Nice stay in Sidney.
- Jerremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Riley (10/5): - Very nice
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Conald (8/5): - Rooms were comfortable , warm, clean. Breakfast was good.
- Stephanie (10/5): room had everything you could need and clean! - it was clean and easy to get around. doggie poop just 2steps out the door. lol i realize it was not the hotels fault.
- Lorie (4/5): Dissatisfied on house keeping - House keeping was horrible i asked for our room to br cleaned twice they never even gave us clean towels or dump our garbage halways werent even vacuum or laundry room wasnt cleaned it was aweful desk help was fine though
- Jeff (10/5): - Great staff easy checkin
- Taylor (10/5): - The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. staff was very ftiendly and helpful. definitely will be staying there again!!!
- Shannon (8/5): - Was assigned to a room and the key card didnât work. Went back down to the desk and the gal was super nice and re-keyed the card. Went back up to the room and the card still didnât work. Went to the desk and explained that the light over the doorknob was a constant red. The front desk gal quickly switched my room without any hassle. Very helpful and kind.
- Andrea (8/5): Oil country - When I first opened the door to the room, I said âwowâ. The room was huge and there was everything needed was provided and more. That said, this hotel has issues other places donât have to deal with. This is oil country & oil workers stay here while working. Work gets them covered in oil and inevitably some comes into the hotel rooms. The curtain had a oily handprint on it & places on the floor were showing dirt. Overall a good place to stay & if I ever come back to Sidney, I will stay there.
- Sigrid (10/5): - The AC in room 211 was 'way too loud; Seana quickly arranged a room switch for us.
- Randi (10/5): - Love the rooms
- Jennifer (8/5): - The front desk attendant was amazing, always willing to jump in and help the housekeeper, even offering to come in on her days off. Love that teamwork aspect!! The housekeeper, yes, they were down to only ole, was so friendly and akways had a smile. The only negative was the elevator, which needed some maintenance work, I believe!
- Juanita (10/5): - Was a great place to stay and very clean, easy to find, food was good for breakfast.
- Juanita (10/5): - It was great and very clean.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Very nice place to stat. Great staff. We will stay there again!
- Shari (10/5): Great place to stay. - Great size rooms with kitchenette which made a perfect weekend for hockey. Staff was great! Beds were comfy! Only downside was we had to rewatch the dishes in the cupboard.
- P4617HPandrews (10/5): Clean, comfortable, and friendly!!! - We travel a lot. One of the best weâve stayed in. It was a very clean room. Front desk was helpful and friendly. Hot breakfast in the morning. We wished that we could stay longer just to relax. We will definitely stay again on our next trip.
- John P. (10/5): - Very clean and convenient, with attentive staff. Very comfortable beds and kitchenettes in the rooms.
- Becky (10/5): - .
- Ella (10/5): Fantastic hotel, comfortable rooms & breakfast. - It was wonderful. The rooms all have small kitchens with full size refrigerators. The beds were great. I wanted to take the bed with me it was so comfortable. The breakfast was great with hot food. Large selection of breakfast items. Close to restaurants and grocery store. Stay here.
- Beverly (10/5): Great Hotel Stay - The staff was very friendly. We were late for breakfast, we were not aware of times. But the lady in charge still let us eat breakfast anyway! Great service! I was impressed with the service and excited to see a night light in the bathroom, I usually bring one of my own. Would definitely stay again.
- Penny (10/5): - It was vey clean, plenty of space in rooms, several choices for breakfast, either hot or cold food. Would stay again.
- Kenneth J (10/5): - Very nice place with extremely friendly staff!
- Eddie (10/5): - Very nice place.
- 436dougd (10/5): Hospitality is second nature to this Hotel staff - Hospitality to the max. This was a busy hotel but we were treated like we were the most important people. It felt as if we were with long lost friends. Well done Mainstay!
Our room was clean and well maintained. We had our dog with us and the staff was even kind and attentive to him. He is a good boy so this was not surprising đ
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice facility, The one negative were the pillows. The pillows were very large and puffy. They were too large to sleep on and made my neck hurt. If I was going to stay again I would bring my own pillow.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent place for an extended stay in Sidney area. Rooms are set up for preparing own meals and front desk staff was friendly and helpful in supplying necessary items. Decent gym (used) and small pool (did not use but would be good for kids). Nice park and playground across the street for kids. Enthusiastic and cheerful staff.
- Ronikka (10/5): đ - Great clean room. Nice king sized bed. Wish the beds were a little bit squishier but other then that great service and location!
- Bryan (10/5): Great place to stay! - Great hotel, great friendly service. I highly recommend.
- marsharod (10/5): Wonderful and warm accommodation! - I had the pleasure of being in this gorgeous and well kept hotel in Sydney, Montana and was very impressed with the staffsâ professionalism and great house keeping job!
Initially I had some misunderstandings with the manager Shelle; but she quickly and timely corrected my error. Sheâs a wonderful manager with a big heart and great love. Doris was my housekeeper, and she always did a tremendous job. The front desk ladies are very vibrant and polite. Thanks guys for making my 13 weeks seamless and felt like home away from home! Kudos
- Judy (10/5): - Nice hotel
- kimsL106QU (10/5): Love love love. Treat you like family. - I can't say enough about this hotel. The staff is amazing. Everyone from the front staff, to the GM, and the housekeeping staff treat you like family. We came often enough my dog has his own fanclub. Haha, he's so excited to know we're staying and he actively seeks out the staff for loves. During this covid time they do offer free breakfast, but with a few adjustments for making it safer for everyone. If you ever need anything, just let them know. They give you privacy, but if you'd like a fresh touch up cleaning or change of towels let them know. If I come back in the future we'll definitely stay here again. Plus, the price is amazing. Only wish we could get this hotel and service on the trip back to Florida.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff, clean room and motel, easy access.
- Ryan (10/5): Great value - Excellent friendly and clean. Will be back
- Verified traveler (10/5): Business Stay - Was a nice stay. My room was clean and the hotel staff were friendly.
- Ge0rgeaT (10/5): Great staff - The staff at the Mainstay is amazing. They were very friendly and accomadating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was always well stocked with lots of options. I would definitely recommend a stay.
- JckSprw17 (10/5): 5/5 -What a value for money - Don't think twice and just book this place.
Can't say enough about it.
5/5- every category.
Nice, clean property- looks almost brand new.
Check-in was very quick. Front staff was helpful.
Rooms are spacious and there's a kitchenette (stove, FULL SIZED fridge, microwave, dishwasher, utensils).
Price for room included breakfast for 2, wi-fi and parking.
Breakfast starts at 6 on weekdays.
- valvaradi (10/5): Very nice - We checked in after 10. The staff was friendly and check in was quick. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. We didn't stay long, left by 5. We missed breakfast because it doesn't start until 7 on Sundays, but my husband was able to fill his coffee cup up before we left. The price was very comparable. It would have been a nice room if we were visiting the area, but it was a quick rest stop for us.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We checked in after 10 pm and out by 5 am. The room was clean, bed was comfy and the staff we met were very friendly. The rate was good for the amenities.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - There was one negative staff member during breakfast service on 12/7
- Jenn (8/5): - I had a barking dog issue on my floor. The front desk did everything they could have. My only complaint is that the clerk did say they would be moving me so I packed all of my things up and sat here waiting to be moved for over 30 minutes. None the less, the barking dog issue was stopped so I was happy other than my wasted time waiting to be moved when I wasnât moving and not notified. It was also FREEZING in my room when I arrived. 3 hours on 85 degrees and tiles were still freezing. It would have been nice to walk into a somewhat warm room instead of an igloo. Definitely would stay again.
- Tyler (6/5): - The rooms were excellent as well as free laundry service and a gym. The staff was rather irritated when I explained to them how our room had no TV remote. Reserved the room for 4 but had towels for 3. There was garbage under the bed skirts which could easily be seen. The manager approved me to check in early however the desk clerk insisted I could not and was very unfriendly until she saw the note in the system. Couldn't get towels, or plastic laundry bags because they were apparently "locked up in the top floor". The Hotel itself is excellent, some additional staff training could make this hotel hands down the best in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good newer hotel. Could use a cookie when checking in. Breakfast a 6 AM. Would say again.
- dale (8/5): - no worries a good place to stay
- travellingCanuc (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff,
came in quickly to help fix a non-functioning TV
easy reach from highway and shopping
spacious room with a good amount of amenities
- Bradley W (10/5): Mainstay Sidney - Nice hotel with a great fitness center.
- ruso239 (10/5): Best place I know for the price!! - The outside and inside of the Mainstay look great. The rooms are very spacious and set up nicely. The staff was professional and also looked the part. The breakfasts were great with a lot of variety and once a week they also have an evening meal. I normally do not sleep well in a hotel room but no worries here. I had the best week of sleep in a long time. I never heard a noise from another room the entire week. I have my choice between Sidney or Glendive to stay and I will now always pick the Sidney Mainstay Suites. Great job by everybody and I will surely be staying there again.
- dmljkaster (10/5): Wow! What a hotel! - We stayed overnight while travelling through the area. I was with my college aged daughter, and she wished she could have one of the suites for her apartment! The management was very friendly, the hotel was sparkling clean, the exercise room was amazing, breakfast was great...only positive things to say about this hotel.
- MichaelUSMC (8/5): Very Nice Mainstay Suites - Clean and Comfortable with Nice Complete Kitchen . Bed Was Comfy and Suite Also Had an Easy Chair and Great Table / Desk Combo . Also Nice Bathroom and Large Walk-In Shower . Topped Off With a Hot Breakfast in the Morning . I Found Staff To Be Very Pleasant and Eager To Please . Enjoyed a Great Stay .
- tvl4lvg (2/5): What happened to the real General Manager? - I haven't been back for a year, and what a difference! the "manager" reeks of pot and walks around stoned, all the employees are outside smoking, I was moved three times to get a "clean" room. That just meant the maid had been there, not that it was clean. Breakfast was hard and cold eggs and warm milk. Hope you can get the other manager back.
- 10billyh (4/5): This used to be my favorite stop until the management change a while back. - I used to look forward to this part of my route because of my stay here. But a while back there was a management change and I noticed things and service going down hill. I stayed at a couple different hotels like the Candlewood and Holiday Inn Express on a few trips to give them a chance to straighten things out. I stayed this week and it still was no good. That is to bad.
- U3995CJpatricks (10/5): Great place to stay - Suites are large and well kept. Bed is amazingly comfortable. Tasty breakfast. Great value. Only word of warning would be that it is located right beside the fire station, so be prepared to hear occasional sirens.
- leici3 (10/5): Great Room for an Amazing Price - The room we stayed in at the MainStay Suites was absolutely perfect. The suite had a full sized refrigerator with a built-in ice maker, a stove top built into the the counter, and a dishwasher. That alone made this the most fully equipped hotel room I've ever stayed in. The bathroom was huge, as well as the shower, and everything was clean and comfortable. My travel companion and I enjoyed the room so much that we wished we could have stayed an extra day, just to take advantage of it.
- 226bobw (10/5): Wonderful - 4 of us went to Sidney for a hunting trip. Suites were wonderful, clean, well equipped, great breakfast served at 5 AM and it changed somewhat each morning. The best value I could imagine. The "fully" stocked kitchen was less that fully stocked but we made it work just fine. 2 gas grilles on a covered veranda with tables was excellent. These are hard plumbed higher end grilles. We made full use of them. We had plenty of room to stake out the bird dogs (they weren't in the rooms!) The manager told us the property was 2 years old, it appeared to be 2 months old. It was spotless in every corner and they kept up the maintenance every day. We will return next September.
Thank you so much.........
- LLP8890 (10/5): What a surprise! - Wow! This hotel was amazing to stay at in Sidney, MT!
The value is amazing for the large room that I got! There are only two minor things that I didn't like: A room located by the busy road, and the AC that sounds like a jet engine. Nothing major at all, but everything else was spectacular!
- Roundupready (10/5): Wow, what a surprise - THIS WAS A HUGE SURPRISE IN SIDNEY, MONTANA. It looked brand new. We got a first class, two room suite for $80. Dinner that evening and breakfast were included. I don't know if this was a huge promotion or what, but it was the bargain on the second day out on a 22 day trip. Katie and the staff acted like we were long lost family, so helpful and polite. I picked Sidney as we grow sugarbeets and wanted to see their factory and we were on our way to Manitoba via the Bakkan Oil Field. That was a WOW, too. If I ever get back to Sidney, MainStay Suites will be my motel even at twice the price.
- TStotts (10/5): Best hotel I've ever stayed at!! - I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was, how clean everything was, and how accommodating the staff were. The room itself was very spacious & extremely comfortable. The room was so clean, it didn't appear as though anyone had stayed in it previously. I topically don't use the drawers for clothes, but they were like brand new clean. Even the shower was spacious & very clean. The beds were very comfortable. If we found something that needed to be fixed, like a squeaky door, Rocky, the awesome maintenance man, would fix it right away. He was the best maintenance man I've met at a hotel. Natasha was extremely friendly & helpful through out our stay. All the staff was extremely nice & so willing to help. They made you feel at home or like visiting nice family. The breakfast was good & served on real dishes, with real silverware. They even had a social dinner one night we were there & served free food. They really go above and beyond here, when we come back this way, we will definitely stay here again.
