Un véritable cocoon pour arriver ou pour partir ... C est un peu plus loin de l aéroport mais ça vaut le coup car le quartier est résidentiel et très calme et propre de la plage

- Stanley (10/5): My dream hotel. Excellent food, ambience and the greatest staff. - Having travelled to many countries, this hotel was for me my favorite. I loved the layout, the staff, all the quite corners, all the opportunities to interact with other guests "everything stops for tea" at 4pm. With no main resturant, you could eat at any of the many tables around the property so you got different dining views, canal, lagoon, garden, pool, or a little more formal on the veranda outside the lobby. I've never experience staff as good as this before, Chamidu was fantastic and went above and beyond to help us with every request, as were all the staff. The food we experienced here was some of the best and a big thank you to all the staff who always met us with smiles and looked after us. Fans of motorcross are in for a treat here as the owner is a three times World champion. For the arts and crafts aficionados there is a fantastic oppoutunity on site in the "Thimbles" workshop, do support their work or try it out for yourself. There are two swimming pools and there are times when it feels like you are living in your own private villa and I think that comes from the overall ambience of the hotel. If you want to relax, read books, do some art, enjoy good food, lounge at the pool, enjoy a massage, make some friends over tea, then this is the place. We came for one night and stayed nearly two weeks and I would love to return anytime. My favorite out of dozens and dozens of hotels. There is nothing to fault.

- Maria (10/5): Wonderful, charming place - perfect for relaxation - Very charming place with a little lagoon running through the property where you could take a canoe or boat (and see lizards swimming), and 2 clean pools. Felt like being in the middle of nature. Very kind and welcoming staff. The place had a lot of character with artifacts from all over the world. We were lucky to be upgraded to a very spacious and beautiful room with not 1 but 2 bathrooms :) They also arranged afternoon tea, which was a nice addition. The food was delicious - we had all of our meals there. There could have been more sunbeds by the pool by the lagoon.

It didn't detract from our stay and we didn't raise it as we were only staying 2 nights

He did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable under difficult conditions, being stranded due to the Middle East crisis. We were given a beautiful room at no extra cost. We were very well cared for. The lady owner runs a fabulous craft workshop to offer young women from the village, livelihood opportunities.

Lots of nice places to hang out, two lovely pools, a beautiful garden and all integrated with the lagoon. The staff deserves a review by themselves. I wish I had known about this place when I had arrived in SL and spared myself the hustle and bustle of the south coast. I had a lucky upgrade to a beautiful room and I loved the soft furnishings from the local thimble project. Shout out to Chamidu who was very helpful. Not enough sun loungers at the main pool.

The staff are really nice and helpful and the food is good. There are two nice swimming pools and the lay out and gardens are lovely. It's on the lagoon so not for swimming. However with two nice swimming pools this was hardly an issue.

- Geesje (10/5): - Villa Hundira is a beautiful villa. We had booked 2 nights, but ended up staying 6 nights. It is a very lovely villa, small-scale, it radiates so much tranquility. The rooms are spacious and very clean, the food is delicious. And very importantly: Manager Chamidu, together with his staff Subas, Priyantha, and Jeba, do everything to make you feel comfortable. We have traveled a lot in Sri Lanka, but this place is the most beautiful so far.

- Trevor (9/5): Great for arriving in Sri Lanka - The villas are in a complex on the edge of the lagoon. The staff are excellent and the whole complex is very serene and relaxing. They can arrange collection from the airport. It’s expensive for what it is but great for a secure arrival from the airport

Chamidu who's the manager for the property was very kind to show me around property when I arrived. He went out of good way to help me get transport back to airport when my taxi got cancelled at least minute. He worked miracles to get me there with very little notice and in the chaos after the cyclone. Loved the food too, Reginald and team are excellent. I would say 10/10 for the whole stay. I couldn't fault anything with my stay there

We were welcomed by Chamidu and all the friendly staff and our baby was well accommodated with a cot and high chair. The food and service is excellent, the pool is lovely and the rooms are generous. We had great massages in the spa too There was a temporary issue with the hot water in our room which the team were quick to fix

Spacious villas and rooms with quiet spots throughout to relax, enjoy dinner, and the pool. The food was great, a generous breakfast and lovely diverse options for lunch and dinner. Above all, the staff is amazing and always goes above and beyond to fulfil every request. Especially Chamidu, Suba and Reginald made our stay with our two little girls a delight. If you are looking for a place to start or end your journey in Sri Lanka, don't look any further!

- Sam (10/5): A wonderful rest before or after your flight. - We had such a lovely stay on our first day of travelling, that we immediately rebooked to stay at the end of our trip. The rooms are beautifully designed. The whole property has lovely little pathways and bridges leading you around, as well as a great seating area up high to look out over the lagoon and watch the wildlife from. The best thing about the place is the staff. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Chamidu, really helped us out when we had an issue with getting to Colombo train station. It’s advised to prebook taxis. Most drivers on the apps drive over from the other side of the lagoon which takes about 30/40mins to get to you. Nothing

- wommy (10/5): A quiet haven. A great introduction to Sri Lanka. Would highly recommend. - The staff were fantastic. Especially Chamidu on the front desk and Priyantha the waiter. The villa itself is a very interesting place, with so many wonderful features. It is difficult to know where to begin. There is a wide range of accommodation, from a large suite to smaller rooms. We arrived at 4 a.m and were shown straight to our room, which was almost like having an extra night for no charge. The pools were great, it was very quiet. The food was marvellous. I would say that this is the perfect place to stay on arrival in Sri Lanka, to take a day or two to decompress and recover from the journey. The location is great, right by the lagoon. There are so many nooks and crannies to find, you can almost feel that you have the place to yourself There was nothing I did not like, but this is not the cheapest place you could stay. We had the most basic room, I think if we were to return I would pay a bit more for a better room. I personally found our bed a little too hard, but my wife liked it.

Our flight was cancelled during the cyclone, and the staff helped us out immensely - helped us book another flight, arranged transport and made us incredibly comfortable! - Julie (9/5): Wonderful welcome to Sri Lanka. - Lovely setting and very homely approach to using areas around the villa. Lovely food and staff were very friendly and helpful. Quite informal and relaxed which is welcoming. Nothing to dislike but only there one night. With hindsight maybe it wasn’t the best location for us, but certainly a very comfortable and welcoming place to spend the night after a flight.

I needed a place where I could rest for a few days and Villa Hundira fulfilled my needs entirely. I would like to highlight staff which took great care about me namely Chamidu and Reginold, who made my stay even more special. The room I've got was spacious and quiet. And I enjoyed that the hotel was half empty at that time so I felt like I have the hotel just for me. I can't say anything wrong about Villa Hundira. I would like to pinpoint that the location of the Villa is near airport which is on the opposite of the lagoon.

Both the dinner and breakfast were excellent and such good value. The presentation of the food was of the highest standard. Loved the architecture and design of the complex, so intersting and characterfull. The massage was just what was needed after a long flight. I only have one small observation. Some of the sofa covers looked stained and in need of refurbishment.

The villa is like a hidden gem; a beautiful entrance door opens to an amazingly decorated space. Each and every corner of the hotel is a piece of art. The art pieces and antique furniture give authenticity to the entire space. Room was amazing, even the bathroom is so designish! Close to the airport and a much recommended escape for couples who are seeking quite and tranquility. The Food was top notch and before I forget, please book your massage with Neresha at the wellness Spa...She has magic fingers!!

- Alexandra (8/5): A welcome landing in Sri Lanka - Our first stop in Sri Lanka, Villa Hundira was a soft and welcome landing into the country. The staff and management team were so warm and friendly, we immediately felt at ease. Our son loved the play area and looking for water monitors. Our room was poolside, the restaurant was tasty and the grounds were lovely to explore. The floors around the pool area were quite slippery when wet - one to fix!

The pools were very clean and well attended. The food offering was excellent and offered much choice. It's a real destination! For me the highlight was the attentiveness of the staff. Led by Pasindu the team could not do enough for my family whilst there. They were 10/10! I would stay again when in Sri Lanka. It can be a base for starting or ending a tour, or to springboard and do day trips. I found no issues.
- Meghasmita (4/5): Disappointing - The resort is located too far from any travelling convenience and you are left only to the mercy of the hotel to provide transportation. As a result, they ask high prices due to the monopoly. Moreover, we had a pool facing room but they had workers working there throughout and we couldnt get any privacy to enjoy the pool and the pool was not cleaned as well.
- Peter (10/5): We will be back again! - Our third visit to Villa Hundira-the perfect place for the first and last days in Sri Lanka. All the staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful. Food was excellent. Having two swimming pools is a bonus. The surroundings are peaceful and quiet. With the exception of the aircraft noise when they flew over, but this did not detract from our enjoyment of staying there.

- Amy (10/5): A truly wonderful and magical stay. We will return! - As we were landing later at night, the property contacted us to ask if we wanted to order food before the kitchen closed. This was so thoughtful and when we sat down for dinner, it was wonderful. We had originally booked as it was nearer to the airport and our plan was to stay the night and then move on to our next property the following day. However, they asked if we wanted to go to Monkey Island and do a lagoon tour in the morning. And I am so glad they asked us as it was one of the best trips we did throughout our stay in Sri Lanka; we felt that we had really made the most of our short time there. Beautiful views, our son loved feeding the monkeys and we stopped for a fruit snack sitting on chairs in the middle of the shallowest part of the lagoon. An experience we will never forget. A special mention to Reginald who was a fantastic. The rooms and property were beautiful too. That we had only booked for one night! We will return!

- Dr. (9/5): We highly recommend the property lso for a longer stay. - Extremly helpful staff, very friendly and always catering to our special requests. The property is very spacious with 2 pools and lots of old trees. Dining tables are spread out around the property, so you dine in a different location always. All rooms are individually and very tastefully decorated by the owner with local art and tapestry. The enclosed property is very quiet. It is located directly at the lagoon, so you enjoy a fresh breeze all day long. There is definitetly room for improvemend for the food. .

Our plans changed quite last minute and we were able to check in a day early and the staff were so flexible to help us with this. We stayed for 3 nights before our flight home and it was exactly what we needed. Great pool, spa and restaurant and the staff were all great. We felt so welcome and looked after. We didn’t explore Negombo, but it was a great location if you did want to, and also only 25 mins from the airport and organising the taxi was so easy via the hotel. Would highly recommend. Service at the pool bar was slow at times
