Guest Reviews
- Mark (10/5): -
- Linda (10/5): - Hydrangea Inn a lovely, clean place to stay in Eueraka. It has a home vibe! Breakfast was included and it was a homemade delicious breakfast each morning. Renee the owner offers a comfortable lovely home. I will stay at this location every time I’m in Eureka visiting. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area!
- Susan (8/5): Cozy, clean and friendly. Delicious breakfast - Cozy and friendly, clean In a neighborhood.
- Lacie (10/5): - I had a fantastic time at the Hydrangea Inn! I rented the Bungalow and it was adorable and quiet. Breakfast on the two days of my stay was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.
- Daniel (10/5): - We stayed in the detached bungalow....it was perfect with lots of space and unexpected treats. Breakast was amazing, the grounds were lush and beautiful. Off street parking was a little cramped. Definitely would recommend.
- Edward (10/5): A well kept, relaxing stay - We had a great time here. The property is very nice, charming, well kept, quiet and thoughtfully equipped. We appreciated the full kitchen, fluffy towels and towel warmer that worked quite well, the abundance of chargers and outlets, the French press and coffee as well as the hot, fresh, home made breakfast each morning that came complete with assorted cut fruit, yogurt, orange juice and a tasty hot entree. Access to the lovely garden as well.
Service was thoughtful and helpful, lots of information provided as to the month’s local events, and plenty of convenient free parking out front.
A+. Highly recommended. Our first choice for future trips to the area.
- Matt (9/5): Superb -
- Sora (9/5): The Hydrangea Inn was a charming cottage stay. Everything was very clean and bed very comfortable. - Our host made wonderful homemade breakfasts for us each morning of our stay. It was really delicious. The parking situation in the driveway was not ideal but the street parking worked out well for us.
- Meyers (10/5): Truly lovely & everything was exceptional. The property, the communication. No detail was overlooked. - Pristine in all ways.
- Darlene (10/5): Relaxing and comfortable. - The amenities were better than expected. Breakfast was substantial, well prepared, well presented and Yummy! This place took you back to the charms of the past. We loved it.
- John (7/5): Not the stay we were expecting in Eureka. - The quality of the towels and bed linen was very good. We were "upgraded" to a bigger room but this was upstairs whereas we had deliberately booked a ground floor room for medical reasons. The larger accommodation barely compensated for having to make several trips up and down a 17 step stairway. We felt obliged to accept the upgrade as it was clear that the original room booked had not been serviced and to have insisted on having that room would have meant a long wait until it was prepared.
- Sumiko (9/5): Superb -
- Sam (10/5): Beautiful rooms with amazing breakfast for a stay south of Redwood National Park. - Our family of four stayed in the upstairs apartment. We had plenty of space and the apartment was well decorated, clean and had a nice large bathroom. The backyard is lovely with places to sit or dine and a fireplace. The breakfasts were wonderful - we regretted not being able to eat it all! The host was friendly but unobtrusive. Beds were comfortable and the area was quiet. Nothing.
- Andrew (10/5): I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. - A lovely bungalow, with pleasant accommodations in every way. Remarkable breakfasts. Perfect. Not a thing!
- James (8/5): Very good -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Weiguo (1/5): Bad -
- Kimberly (10/5): Awesome! - Breakfast was excellent. Host was friendly. Everything about the place was great!
- Heather (8/5): Gorgeous antique house but not a restful place to stay. - We were appreciative of the prepared breakfast. It’s one thing when the adjoining rooms (in a hotel) are noisy but unfortunately it was the main residents who were extremely loud. We went to bed at 10p and you could hear loud movements from the first floor for over an hour.
It was clearly posted that breakfast would be ready at 8:30a, which is just fine. Unfortunately we woke up to the owner yelling “Breakfast is readddy!” What is the point of doing this?
- Chris (10/5): One of the nicest places I've stayed - Outstanding breakfast. Renee is a very nice and attentive host. The home is charming and immaculate both inside and outside with plenty of privacy. The living room is not large but it was perfectly adequate for the 4 of us
- Ron (9/5): Superb -
- Patrick (10/5): Outstanding accommodation. Breakfast was fabulous. Definitely recommended - Beautiful property. Spotless and furnished with great detail. Very comfortable and attention to detail was amazing Loved everything
- Marvin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanie (7/5): Didn’t even realize there was more to our room until we opened up the second bathroom door and realized we had a kitchen - House looks really nice pulling up to it…inside is a little dated. Breakfast can have more of a variety for both vegetarian and non
- Patricia (10/5): it was a pleasurable experience - breakfast was very good.
- Susan (10/5): Immaculately clean, well appointed, and incredibly unique, with all the modern comforts. - Immaculately clean, well appointed, and incredibly unique. A lovely blast from the past with many antiques and interesting things. But also equipped with all the modern comforts and essentials. An all round wonderful experience, with a delicious breakfast cooked by our host.
- Pablo (9/5): Superb -
- David (7/5): Good place to stay - The breakfast was very good, delivered as expected and very tasty. The location was excellent for someone who likes to walk in the city the are staying it. I'd recommend it for people who like that kind of thing.
- Loren (10/5): Exceptional - Quaint location and very well maintained property. Breakfast was outstanding.
- Marlene (8/5): Very good - Beautiful grounds. Cozy place. Delicious food!
- David (8/5): Very good - The breakfast was great, plenty to eat. The facility was welcoming and met our needs, but was not posh.
- Canessa (8/5): Very good -
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clayton (9/5): Superb - BReakfast was quite good, tho a little impersonal -- a container left at the door. Good coffee. I would've liked to meet the owner or housekeeper.
- Granville (8/5): Very good -
- Bonnie (9/5): A quiet restful place to stay - Hot casserole breakfast w/fresh fruits, yogurt delivered in a basket at front door was supurb. Redwood Bungalow was quiet, private with own patio, in residential neighborhood. Mattress was fluffy, firm & comfortable; bath towels fluffy and soft. Kitchen decor was nicely done in coordinated red. All guest instructions (Internet, passwords, breakfast delivery) presented on nice note cards. Inn garden was well kept and charming. First day, only 3 oz espresso mugs; no drinking water glasses or coffee mugs. Last day no dinner plates for breakfast. but used salad plates.
- Kelli (1/5): Odor reminiscent of a convalescent center! - We drove past it 2x. We were greeted by no one. We lugged our bags up all the stairs found our creepy “apartment”. Then the smell… Like a convalescent center. Poor ventilation. No AC. We sat long enough to book another hotel in town. It was worth the $ to get away from the smell. I do think it’d be smart to give me a portion of my money back. Plus, no parking. Had anybody at one on site. Install AC. Find a way to get rid of the smell
- Geraldine (10/5): Beautiful home with antiques, great breakfast, quiet and peaceful. - Very quiet neighborhood. Beautiful gardens and courtyard w/fire place. Breakfast was brought to our door and was a delicious egg casserole with lots of fresh fruit: blueberries, mango, raspberries and strawberries and yogurt to put on top. Room was nicely decorated in old 50's style with many antiques. Nothing.
- Linda (10/5): We loved the Inn! - Very nice Inn! The breakfast was excellent, and the owner was very helpful with suggestions for visiting the Redwood National Park. Parking was no problem.
- Judy (10/5): The room was comfortable and spacious. The house is very interesting and in a safe neighborhood! - Breakfast was absolutely delicious- what a wonderful way to begin the day!
- James (10/5): Just like home - Breakfast was a definite high point to a great stay. The Inn is an historic home on a quiet residential street in Eureka. The grounds are beautiful with a comfortable area to sit in the garden. Our generous room was on the top floor. It included a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and kitchen.
- Brian (10/5): AWESOME B&B - Great place to stay, the owner is very knowledgeable about the area, gave us great insight on places to see and ones to bypass. GREAT BREAKFAST EVERY MORNING. the weather, cloudy with a high of 62, but we enjoyed ourselves.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Terri (9/5): Pleasantly Enjoyed! - It was perfect as a vegan. Very tasty and colorful. The weather was much cooler than expected. (To be expected. ) I would like to have stayed a bit longer to enjoy the outside areas.
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Doris (8/5): Always a great place to stay in Eureka! - We stay at this facility most of the time when we visit family in Eureka. Usually we stay in the main house upstairs. That space meets our needs better than the little, very little, cottage . However, this place is beautiful, great breakfasts, daily cleaning, great location for us and quiet. The cottage was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. The shower was large and a towel warmer is such a luxury! We'll be back! The space was smaller than we expected. Great for one person or only one night. The breakfasts are great but could be varied more when you're there for 3 nights.
- Congdon (9/5): Nice B& B - Clean house and a towel warmer. No air conditioning.
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (10/5): Beautiful Bungalow on the Coast - Beautiful property, centrally located. This was a perfect, cozy retreat during our Forest Moon Festival weekend! The host is gracious and hand -delivers a stunning breakfast every morning! We will definitely book again! It's hard to find fault, everything was so perfect. The only inconvenience was the window in the living room has no curtains and there's a glare on the television from the sofa seating area. That's the only flaw. Just a stellar place to stay away from home!
- Hank (9/5): Love this place. Our go-to stop when traveling up the CA-OR coast. - Tasteful decorations and furnishings. Beautiful older house. Exceptional breakfasts (we’ve been here several times). Cold outside temperatures (30’s to 40’s) made heating some areas of the suite difficult with heaters provided. It took a while.
- Diana (9/5): Superb -
- Tarsa (7/5): Good -
- Doris (10/5): Lovingly appointed B&B with great breakfast and host. We’ll be back! - beautiful furnishings in a convenient & quiet location. I loved the towel warmer in the bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was very good . We were in the main house upstairs which is very private. The bed was very comfortable as well. The heater in the bedroom wasn’t working well and we were cold.
- Bruce (9/5): Superb -
- Craig (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (7/5): Good -
- Mary (8/5): Private, cute, yummy breakfast! - We stayed in the bungalow on the property. It was very private, the place was very clean and cute. Breakfast was yummy and brought to our door in a picnic basket, OJ, creamer and coffee were in the kitchen when we arrived for next days breakfast, my husband had issues figuring out how to make the coffee himself and ended up going to buy instant coffee packets down the road LOL. Contactless check-in, did not see the host the whole time, but spoke to her on the phone as we had a small issue with shower drain not draining. She did credit us a small amount for the inconvenience. I would stay here again if ever in the area. We only stayed one night. The main house is beautiful too, I'm sure would be just as nice to stay in. I also left my phone charger in the room after check out and the host offered to mail it to me which I received 5 days later, that was going above and beyond in my opinion! ;-)
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Very pleasant stop. Comfortable clean and quiet. A very nice host. Close to restaurants.
- Helen (10/5): It is an easy drive to Ola Town Eureka and the shops, harbor and restaurants. - Incredibly beautiful hydrangeas in a tranquil garden area, delicious breakfast and charming accommodation. A secure and quiet neighborhood. nothing
- Ruth (8/5): Very good -
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (4/5): would not return - breakfast was very good Garden area was exceptional Had to prop windows to stay open (window cords broken) Other windows would not open (painted shut) and window screens were marginal Furnishing and bed we’re well used and are in need of upgrading
no code provided to secure room from other renters when out. overpriced for value provided
- Anonymous (10/5): The unit is very clean and quiet. Breakfast was served at 9am, Mexican casserole with tortillas and a side of fresh frui - The yard was immaculate. All the plants were lush and well manicured. There is an outdoor fireplace available for use, however we ran out of time and did not get the opportunity to use it.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Janet (10/5): Such a lovely little bungalow, with spectacular gardens. - Breakfast was delicious, timely, and we enjoyed it very much. We arrived by motorcycle, so parking was very easy. If you come in a large car be prepared to park on the street.
- Phillip (10/5): Exceptional - expertly restored Victorian main building and attentive owner
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great breakfasts and wonderful, roomy guest suite.
- Brit (8/5): - A great place to stay. I must say the bed was so comfortable. The property was clean and nice. Breakfast was fresh, hot and delicious. Great stay.
- Perry (10/5): - A five star accommodation on a charming residential street.
- AztecsFan (10/5): - A beautiful place to stay in Eureka. The Service and extras are EXCELLENT.
- L.Doran (10/5): - We stayed here during our trip to Redwood National Park. It was a nice drive to the trails 35-40 min. The inn is located a residential area and felt very safe. We had a late arrival and Renee was very accommodating. The bed was extremely comfortable... super soft sheets. The bathroom towels were fluffy and soft. There is even a towel warmer if you want. Breakfast was superb. Delivered hot and in a cute basket which included a skillet of apple and cinnamon pancake soufflé, fresh berries, ham slices, homemade jam, OJ, milk and water. It was perfect. Our only regret was that it was only one night!!!
