• cindy (10/5): - Le jardin de l'hôtel et la piscine sont magnifiques. Le dîner cuisiné par le chef était excellent. La literie est très confortable. Le seul petit bémol concerne la salle de bain. Elle était fonctionnelle mais un petit coup de neuf lui ferait du bien.

• Apoorv (7/5): Good for 1 night stay - The property was decent. Clean and quiet. Staff was good. We had to leave early for safari hence they packed breakfast for us. It was basic - a sandwich and packed juice, but okay. When we came back from safari, it was already the checkout time, but they agreed to extend by an hour, which gave us time to refresh and pack. The location was kind of off-beat. But I guess the whole area Tissa is like this only

• Bettina (5/5): Pool recommended, room not - Pool and garden are beautiful, bed is comfortable, staff is friendly The bathroom is aweful. After using the shower everything is wet and the water doesn’t flow away. From the shower to the toilet (under and around) the toilet the tiles were yellow to brown due to the residues of lime and dirt. The window is broken and could not be closed, so dozens of mosquitoes came inside. On the chairs on the balcony there are no cushions, so it is quite uncomfortable to sit there. We left one day earlier because we did not feel comfortable at all.

• Claudine (8/5): Cadre magnifique, très bon restaurant mais rafraîchissement de la chambre à prévoir - Nous avons séjourné 1 nuit dans cet hôtel pour avoir la possibilité de faire le safari à Yala. Il est situé dans une impasse ce qui rend le jardin arboré très calme. Le cadre au bord de la piscine est tout bonnement superbe, nous étions seuls toute la matinée et avons pu observer depuis notre chaise longue des varans et plusieurs types d’oiseaux ! Le personnel est au petit soin et nous avons très bien mangé le soir au restaurant et au petit-déjeuner ! La chambre était très grande et disposait d’un ventilateur, d’une climatisation et d’une moustiquaire mais semblait un peu "dans son jus". Un rafraîchissement est à prévoir selon moi

• Guy (9/5): Ideal for Yalla - A great launching point for our Yalla National Park safari, with a fantastic and huge pool. Our Sri Lancan meal (chicken curry and seafood fried rice) was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly, but did not volunteer information, we had to request it (details for the safari and onward car journey). I suspect that this arises from new staff and will be sorted.

Staff are very helpful and helped us organise transport to and from the hotel. Room was comfy and equipped with a mosquito net Could do with a better clean in the bathroom

Очень экзотическое место с летучими лисицами на озере неподалеку. Приятный персонал, присылает подробнейшие инструкции по заселению, чуть старые но комфортные номера. Местонахождение отеля вдали от всего, нужно ездить на тук туке. Дороговато просят за свои услуги по организации сафари.

Le restaurant est top et aux prix raisonnables Emplacement intéressant que si vous faites un safari à Yala … annulé pour l’avoir déjà fait dans le triangle culturel. Rajouter un peu plus de chaises longues … 9 c’est court !

• Nina (8/5): - Great kids’ pool, lovely room with a balcony. Great value for money. Hotel restaurant was fine and basic and did not overprice the food. Good wiifi, good AC and bed. Pictures on booking.com are as reality. We had dinner two nights at The Flavours, a 10 min walk from the hotel; great food and a bit more lively vibe. The walk can be dark, particularly the last 200 m, so bring a phone and use the flash light function. We felt safe (2 adults and one child) walking back and forth even in the dark. Power may go out a few times a day for 5-10 min. No complaints, all was good. I would stay here again.

• amanda (10/5): Quiet retreat near Yala Narional Park. - Lovely quiet lodge with pool. Nice open eating area and lovely dinner. Friendly helpful staff eager to make our stay enjoyable. Prepared breakfast takeaway early for us before our Safari. There was a 2nd single bed in the room which made it a little tight moving round in the room.
• Susie (7/5): Pleasant stay for a night - Friendly and helpful staff. They helped us arrange a car and store our bags during a safari. Hotel grounds were nice and comfortable. There was a hallway light (outside of the room) that was on all night and couldn’t be turned off. We could hear the neighbors talking until late.

Location was a 5 minute tuktuk journey from Tissamaharama, but a little tucked away in an alley. We got food poisoning from the restaurants chicken nuggets. We told about our problem the following day, but they did nothing to accomodate us. They did not even apologize. We even had to pay for the nuggets at the end.

• Grant (9/5): Blue Turtle for a comfortable stay at Tissa. - The Blue Turtle met all our needs in Tissa. It was very relaxing & a haven during the heavy rain that fell while we were there. The pool was particularly good as long enough for laps & very clean. The rooms were big & modern with a pleasant balcony overlooking the pool. The hotel does have a basic dinner menu. We ate dinner twice & found the food bland & was not good value but with the heavy rain other options not easily accessible. The WiFi was generally weak & at times ceased to work.

Packed breakfast was handed over to us at 4.30 am for the Yala safari ride. I missed the massages but after full day safari that is a must. Lovely Mango tress & lotus pond. Little bigger rooms for triple occupancy. Hardly any space to move about with camera bags and luggage around. Bathroom door was not closing. Bathroom fittings need to upgrade.

• Richard (10/5): Very nice stay - Very pleasant surroundings, peaceful and quiet. Great before the Yala safari the next day, which is about 30 mins away. We were able to leave our bags and have a shower we got back from the safari and after check out time. Very friendly staff. Recommended Room was a bit tight for 3 people. Ok for 1 night though
• Kerry (8/5): Lovely hotel but a bit 'up-sell-ish' - Grounds and pool area were great. Room large and comfortable with great balcony. Loved that there were often peacocks and lizards to see on the property and cows being herded past each day. The Arak cocktails were lovely- we indulged a lot! Good location for safaris. Food was not as good as what we ate elsewhere on our holiday-a bit bland. In general, it felt slightly grasping as a business- lots of upselling. Every time we left our room or returned from somewhere, one of the staff was asking us if we wanted to book in for dinner or breakfast in advance and safaris offered by the hotel were much more expensive than those we ended up booking for the same thing.

• Nick (10/5): - Great stay if going out to do a safari. Rooms are slightly dated but perfect for the price. Swimming pool is amazing. Highly recommend staying here instead of any expensive hotels in the area. A long way from other restaurants, but they will call a tuk tuk if you ask. Also the hotel resturant is good with reasonably priced food.

• Marlies (10/5): Mooi hotel met heerlijk zwembad in prachtige tuin - Prachtige schone kamers, een heerlijk zwembad in een prachtige tuin waar de exotische vogels boven je in de bomen zitten. Personeel is ontzettend aardig en behulpzaam. Een dikke tien!
