Guest Reviews
- Sam (8/5): - The accommodation is well located and very affordable. It's nice and clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. It's quite basic, especially in the bathroom but again, it is very affordable.

- Hanna (7/5): Fijne plek voor een paar nachten - Heerlijke bedden en hele lieve eigenaren. Ligging is perfect! Verbouwing ernaast en een haan die in de ochtend kraait
- Zakria (10/5): - Very convenient location near to the markets quite and peaceful at the same time. Rooms are nice and spacious with great wifi and air conditioning. excellent cleanliness and staff are welcoming. Will book again if I’m in Ubud

La amabilidad del personal El internet iba y venía
- erull (9/5): - Nice room & nice people
- Md. (8/5): Comfortable and homely ambience with well behaved staff like a family. - Interior of the room was decorated nicely. The furnitures were arranged in such a way, that it feels like real home experience. The property was full of greenery both inside and out. The road to enter the property was much narrow.
- Masumi (10/5): - スタッフの皆さんがとても、フレンドリーで親切でした。静かな場所で便利も良いので また、利用します。 ドライヤーが、パワーが無いので ロングヘアーは、なかなか乾かない、、、
- Karolina (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at Tebesaya Homestay. I spent four nights there. The hosts are wonderful, kind, and helpful. Everything is clean. The location is amazing. I highly recommend it.
- Patxi (10/5): Muy bueno!

- Rajaprakash (8/5): A pleasant experience and a memorable stay with my friends. - Simple but adequate breakfast. Accessible by a quick 30 m walk from the main road.
Easy access to café, eateries and bike rental. Some of the rooms and facilities are getting old and needs attention.

- Maria (8/5): Best-value for money. Guest-oriented service. Calming ambience. - Sheltered homestay in a quiet alley. The room is comfortable and clean. Our room is on the second floor. Stairs are steep, but manageable for us. The landlady was super helpful and caring. We got free four boiled eggs to prepare for our half-marathon race🙂
- Eric (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kate (10/5): You will feel right at home ! - You could have privacy in you own spacious room , Connect with others in the common breakfast area .
Miss Komang , the host was an excellent provider of local advice , with excellent English. The simple yummy breakfast was a great start to the day . Location , spaciousness, and lovely staff .

- Mustafa (9/5): Superb - They have a DVD player and some DVD movies, even though I didn’t watch any movies while I was there. I liked the idea of a DVD player in the room. internet gets disconnected quite often
- Tuva (8/5): Would definetly stay again - The beds are nice, staff is very warm and welcoming. It’s a very cozy and calm homestay. And the breakfast pancake was soo good Nothing, but we did miss having a pool
- Deni (9/5): Superb -
- Yunyu (9/5): Superb - nice environment and friendly staff Wi-Fi is too slow. room is too small and there are spider nets in some corners of the room ….
- Yunyu (8/5): Very good - Wi-Fi too poor
- Adam (9/5): Highly recommend - Great stay. Very cosy, and friendly staff. Breakfast was great. WiFi was a bit unreliable at times, but it worked for the most part. Was still able to work on my laptop.
- Hemant (9/5): Superb - everything internet could be better
- Amin (10/5): Exceptional - the owners are very friendly and everything was clean and comfy. wifi worked good and it was center ubud. definitely recommended!

- Mim (10/5): Exceptional - I loved my stay. The hosts were beautiful and welcoming. All was clean, wifi worked well, it was a beautiful setting and so close to everything!
- Uliana (8/5): good - The room is very big and the bed was comfy. everything worked well. And the person who works there is very nice. The room is very big but kind of old, not like the pictures. Breakfast was quite small and long wait. It was all ok, but there are better options for the money in the area.
- Viacheslav (8/5): Very good -
- ElizabethW744 (10/5): Nice introduction to Bali - We arranged our airport transfer through them, which was with the son of the owner. We had a comfortable, clean, room, a good breakfast, and an opportunity to begin to learn about the culture in Bali by talking with the hosting family. Restaurant options for dinner were a very short walk. It is off the main streets and very quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Until next time - Was not as expected, not in a bad way. Small homestay in a small alley. Host was friendly, rented a bike for a reasonable price from the son. Because I’m a snoozer I never got the time to try the breakfast, but there are a couple of warungs walkingdistance. If you expect a hotel, this is the wrong place, but if you want to see the Balinese way of life, this is a good choice for a low price.
- sharic150 (10/5): Fabulous stay - A friend and I spent 10 days here. It is a perfect size for us.. with two pools and lovely breakfast -even catering for my difficult dietary requirements!!! Thanks to Made who went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. Afternoon tea is a lovely touch. Fabulous location -five mins to monkey forest or yoga barn. Love to return one day!
- Smrity (8/5): - Great
- sin_adp2016 (10/5): Wonderful Homestay - Would stay again - Great Homestay in Ubud. Would stay again & recommend to a friend.
We (31 Male & 28 Female) had never been to a homestay in Asia before so didn’t know what to expect but it was wonderful. Tebesaya have seperate rooms located on the family homestead.
The rooms are spacious, crisp clean white bedding & nicely furnished with handcrafted wooden furniture. The rooms are cleaned daily & to my eye were spotless. Felt more than a 3 star in my opinion. The air con to strong & WiFi is good, if a little patchy in some areas of our room - but nothing we couldn’t manage (still able to stream videos & browse).
Tip - the rooms on the right closest to the breakfast area had strongest WiFi.
The family are really nice, friendly & helpful. They helped organise us a taxi to Amed - very kind of them. The young man who runs the day to day to the business (check-in, cleaning & breakfast) was so lovely & pleasant. Also the (what I assume was) the grandmother was so sweet. She has no English but said hello & interacted all the time.
The breakfast was delicious - we had fruit & pancakes 😋
The location is great. It is in town, but slighted removed so is quiet. It took up 5/10 mins to walk to palace & market which is in the town town centre. There is a small lane (25m) way that leads to the accommodation but this is always with lights so felt very safe.
Only small comment is that in the shower there are smooth rocks on the ground as part of the decor .... personally I found these a bit difficult to walk on & ended up showering with flip flops. But this is a minor thing and all in all I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- jconvento (10/5): Homey and cozy - I stayed here for 4 days and it was so lovely. Komang was such a great host and I felt right at home. The homestay is about 15 min walk from Yoga Barn and just off some of the main roads so it's close enough to the center but also in a location that is quiet and not too busy. Breakfast was wonderful too, fresh fruit plate and choice of mi goreng and omelettes—nothing too fancy but definitely good enough. Would definitely come back and stay for longer!
- Alfredo (10/5): - Property is fine. Don’t be scared to walk the long alley. They are wonderful people with kindness and awesome customer service. They make breakfast for you (Pancakes, Omelet or Fruit Tray). Bed was comfy, better than our previous hotel. Close to Ubud Tourist area and Monkey Forest. Family and backpackers friendly.
- B2203KXsergiol (10/5): Perfect!! - We stayed 5 nights in Tebesaya Homestay and it was perfect! Rooms are spacious, bed so confortable, linen very clean and breakfast delicious.
Komang is soooo sweet and helpful.
If I go back to Ubud, for sure I will stay in Tebesaya Homestay!
- Rock (6/5): Great Place - Place was great only issue I was not to happy with was the first night they had me stay at a different hotel as they overbooked, This other hotel was terrible, didn’t slept all night. All they would say was sorry, No compensation.
When I did get to Tebesaya Homestay it was great, room was large clean and very comfortable bed, good breakfast. They have mopeds on site, which you can rent and I did. Staff is very friendly and try to be accommodating.
- Alpineman66 (8/5): Great comfortable stay - Place was great only issue I was not to happy with was the first night they had me stay at a different hotel as they overbooked, This other hotel was terrible, didn’t sleep all night. Only reason for a 4 rating otherwise it would have been a 5. All they would say was sorry, No compensation.
When I did get to Tebesaya Homestay it was great, room was large clean and very comfortable bed, good breakfast. They have mopeds on site, which you can rent and I did. Staff is very friendly and try to be accommodating.
- JenR406 (8/5): A nice homestay - We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms, and it was clean with classy, quite modern decor and a nice spacious balcony with chairs.
The room was comfortable and we slept well. We could hear our neighbours on the first night, but no problems after that. The WiFi worked well and hot and cold water, tea, coffee etc are always available downstairs.
Breakfast is the usual menu and was tasty, prepared by the young guy who seems to manage the day to day running of the place (I think he may be the owner’s son).
They can rent motorbikes, although we didn’t need to. The location is walkable to the main streets of Ubud in about ten minutes.
The two points that I didn’t like are the shower floor, which is all loose pebbles. I personally found this a bit painful and hard to stand on as they rolled around! Also when we asked to extend, the owner said we could pay by card or cash, but when it came to it, the son said card wasn’t possible and the owner asked if we could pay cash instead of Agoda, even though we said we would then need to go to the ATM. It’s not a big deal but with a foreign card it can be expensive to draw out extra cash so hopefully places that accept Agoda will happily accept it, if the customer asks.
Anyway, those points aside, this is a nice and peaceful place to stay.
- 147sarahe (10/5): Basic done well - It can be hard to decide on a home stay in Ubud as there are so many options. I was not disappointed with my choice. For this price point there were a number of things that aren’t always included. The room was spacious and clean. I had a second story room with a shared balcony. WiFi was pretty good with only minor intermittent problems. Bottled water and water refills were provided. There was a TV in the room (that I didn’t use). The bed and pillows were the comfiest I had while in Bali. The location is great. It is only 5 min walk away from my destination of yoga at Radiantly Alive. Other reviews mentioned concerns about the small path leading off the road to the homestay. I did not have any concerns and there was lighting along the path. My favourite part was being able to use a shower before I flew home the evening that I left (as I had to be checked out of my room that morning). My only minor problem was that the AC and fan were noisier than usual. But I would stay here again.
- khoan8123 (10/5): Welcoming wonderful stay! - I would like to thank hosts at the Tebesaya homestay for having my girlfriend and myself for 3 nights.
The room itself was very nice (see picture below) and there was a little balcony as well. The breakfast was from a choice of 4 set menus, I typically opted for the Nasi Goreng but the pancake was good as well!
The hosts were happy to accommodate us with anything we needed, and offered to cook us breakfast 2 hours before the designated time due to our early check out.
The location was wonderful, a stones throw from anything in central Ubud (10/15 to the palace and around 25 mins to the ridge walk). On the whole we had a great stay and would be happy to return there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great way to see Ubud - Fantastic experience. Wonderful, friendly family who made me feel very welcome. When it came for me to leave, the son even drove me to the port (charming and articulate guy).
Rooms are spotless and the pebble showers were great. The location is also pretty great - just outside the immediate centre to avoid the crowds but only a short stroll from the action.
Thoroughly recommend.
- Giffordonian (10/5): Great Homestay in Ubud - I would like to offer my sincere thanks to everyone at the Tebesaya homestay for providing me with such a nice stay. I booked to stay for 3 nights and was so happy with it that I ended up staying for two weeks...nice breakfast of banana pancakes and fresh fruit provided complimentary and great size room's, with balcony. Extremely good value for money.
Location is very good, only 10 minutes walk from the heart of Ubud centre but in a more peaceful location. You will feel good here. Also check out the lovely Spa if you get a chance.
- JoJ1853 (10/5): A unique honest experience - This is my second stay at Tebesaya Homestay.
I loved staying here so much on my last trip to Bali that I stayed here again!
Komang and Ajus are so welcoming and caring- it’s really special to experience their kindness and generousity. You will get a real feel for the incredible peaceful and calming Balinese culture by staying here.
Ajus even picked me and my friend up from Sanur in a a really nice comfortable car. He then dropped us to the airport also.
Looking forward to my next stay here!
Jo
- StarryMc (10/5): Margaret McIntyre - I stayed in this beautiful place for 2 weeks and wished it was longer. Such beautiful people who made me feel so relaxed and welcomed me into their home with open arms.i can't speak highly enough of this great place
- Verified traveler (10/5): great homestay close main ubud and lovely people - our stay at tebesaya was amazing. rooms are in great condition with very comfortable bed. komang is so kind and helpful and makes u feel like your at home. breakfast is good and coffee is great. spent a day at komangs spa. reasonably priced for the best massage ever. would defiantly recommend staying here ! great experience. katie and stef canada.
- Erena (4/5): Not for those lookin for a hotel - Suitable for visitor lookin for a secluded place.. Photo is a bit deceiving.. Not recommended for those looking for a hotel stay as it is not a hotel.. It is a home stay.. Quite different from what we expected or seen from the photo..
- myreviews8 (10/5): A beautiful stay with beautiful people - The place was beautiful for me, and it's really the hosts who made it such a wonderful experience.
Location - fantastic. It's a mere 5 minute walk away from Jalan Raya Ubud, 1 of the 2 main thoroughfares in Ubud. You get the best of both worlds that way - convenience , but away from the hustle and bustle of main street. The only slightly unsettling thing was walking through a very short but slightly dark alley alone to get back to the homestay after dark, but it's a very quick run-through in a safe residential neughbourhood .
Room - spotless. Housekeeping was immaculate every single day and the room was very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast - good and simple. The hosts are very accommodating - they'll hustle a tasty omelette/Mee goreng/sandwich for you even when you wake up at 11am for the day.
Hospitality - beyond words. Komang (the owner), Ajus (her Son) and grandma were such kind and hospitable people. I thoroughly enjoyed our chats and the warmth and sincerity shown by the hosts.
I'll be certain to head back for another stay when I'm back in Ubud. No other place will do!
- Lai Hong (6/5): Good homestay - The place is ok..ish and the host are very nice and accommodating. The particular ambient in this household gives you a feel of Balinese way of life. Grandma doesn't say much but she is kind, sweet and gentle. The two boys were doing everything to keep us comfortable. Breakfast was great and was sufficient to start your morning.
However, the room was a little tired especially the bathroom and toilet. It let the place down badly. The extractor fan doesn't work.... so you can imagine the smell leading into the bedroom after a normal biological function. The sink also leaks so it flooded the doorway and the door being wooden, soaks the water hence cannot close, contributing to the already odious aroma. The tap was swinging around like a compass needle dancing with the loose toilet seat after your normal ascent from nature's call.
The plus side of the room is that it's spacious. There are reflexology stones on the ground to massage your feet during the shower. The king size bed was good to sleep on. There are chairs with a table outside the verandas to compliment a tropical view of rural Ubud.
Also the steps going up to our first floor building is as steep as the "Cat Ba mountain" climb in Ha Long bay.. not for an older couple or the faint hearted.
To sum up the place, I would give 4/5 for a homestay in Bali but 2/5 as hotel.
- pikapika7 (10/5): Stay here! - If you are on a budget I recommend you to stay in this nice family homestay. It is nothing 'special' it just has it's vibe. Very friendly staff (amazed over the breakfast at is was freshly prepared only for us). Room is spacious and fan is completely enough to cool down over the night. Here I had the best sleep in indonesia! Rent a motor-bike from the owner (3 eur/day) and just go around (she would be very happy to give you some tips).A day before our departure we even booked a airport transfer with them for a reasonable price (private car).
- JoJ1853 (10/5): Highlight of my trip - This Homestay is AMAZING! I was travelling on my own and Komang and her son Ajus made me feel so welcome and comfortable. You really get a lot for your money staying here.
The room was stunning with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the tree tops and temples...so restful. I felt like I was on a retreat! The daily breakfasts were yummy, and the hosts went out of their way to help me find my way around Ubud.
The location is perfect with being away the busy main Street, but close enough to walk to everything you need. I enjoyed the cheap local restaurants on this street.
I would visit this place again I'm a heart beat.
- Charlie (10/5): Charming - Lovely family and a great point to explore Ubud from, spacious and clean rooms
- 757rhysl (10/5): Excellent homestay in Ubud!! - Tebesaya Homestay was a great place to stay in Ubud! We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived from the very nice family who own it. They also made amazing breakfast everyday for the guests. It is located in a street off the main road away from the chaos. 10 minute walk from the monkey forest. Room was faultless, very spacious and clean with nice bathroom and air con. Wifi also very good.
- Tammy (8/5): Modern, clean, friendly hosts. - Lovely home stay in a good location. Very friendly hosts, who were helpful. Cooked breakfast each morning, and tea and coffee provided 24/7. I would stay again. Great value.
- Mads Vedel (8/5): Good place, good prize, good hosts - We had a great a Tebasaya Homestay. Our hosts was very friendly and welcoming. would recommend people going
- WhereWeJoy (10/5): A homestay you felt at home at - My husband and I just spent a few nights here and fell in love with the family. The owner is a lovely Indonesian lady and her sons help run the homestay. She took time to help us plan our day, arrange transportation, and laundry. She even educated us on the celebration that was occurring in town on the day we arrived. The room is clean and had AC. Our second floor room had a shared balcony with views of the treetops and local birds each morning and sunset. Tebesaya Homestay is a short walk from town center. Breakfast banana pancakes were extremely yummy.
- AlexIvanovs (10/5): Best homestay ever - The owner of the homestay is Komang, a lovely Indonesian lady that has done a great job at recreating her own home into a little paradise homestay. We stayed here during our trip to Bali, and found the experience to be everything that could have expected.
I was really sick during my stay in Bali, and Komang did everything to help me with food, and anything else that I needed. It was a really nice touch, and made the experience that much more enjoyable.
We stayed at the 2nd floor rooms, and found them to be full of space, a balcony, TV/DVD and a nice boutique shower that gives your feet a little massage after a long day of explorations in Ubud.
Her family is the sweetest people ever. Wonderful way to start and also end our trip in Bali. Looking forward to seeing Komang again in the future.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice homestay - It was nice homestay. The room was clean and comfortable. The host was very kind and good at English. The only problem was that WiFi signal is very weak and sometimes disconnected.
- Michael (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay - Bit hard to find but worth it. Nice big room and tasty breakfast on the balcony.
- sean (6/5): - First photo is deceiving as it's just four rooms ground level.
Having said that the family are lovely.
- 782WayneM (10/5): Tebesaya Home Stay close to Ubud Centre - We spent 8 nights at Tebesaya Homestay and were really pleased with our stay there. It is down a small walkway away from the bustle (although the roosters are quite noisy at times) but still within easy walking distance to everything like the markets, palace and cafes. The room was large with a lovely deck. The amenities were very clean and the bedding, and towels were exceptionally clean which are important to us. Komang and her family/staff were very friendly and helpful. They supplied breakfast each morning (five choices available) which was plentiful and the Nasi Goreng and Mei Goreng were the best we have tasted in Bali. Another plus is the all day access to filtered water and tea/coffee. Overall a really great place to stay and we would stay there again. Thank you Komang, we look forward to seeing you again.
- Wayne (8/5): Tebesaya Home Stay close to Ubud centre. - We stayed in Tebesaya Home Stay for 8 nights and found it wonderful. This is down a small walkway away from the road. We had a large room upstairs with a lovely deck. This is a small home stay where there are only 4 rooms. The rooms were exceptionally clean, sheets and towels were excellent and changed regularly. Bathroom was very clean as well. Breakfast was the great - there were five choices and the Nasi Goring & Mei Goring were the best we have tasted in Bali. There is filtered water and tea/coffee making facilities available all day at no charge which is great for refilling your water bottles. Komang and her staff are very friendly and helpful towards those staying there. Be prepared for the roosters as they crow a lot. Great value for money and we would stay there again.
- Sylvie_Le (10/5): A hidden gem! - My boyfriend and I recently spent 5 nights at Tebesaya Homestay, and were really pleased with our stay! Komong and her family were lovely hosts. Our room was very clean, and was equipped with a great shower with hot water, AC and ceiling fan, excellent wifi, beautiful private balcony, and a mounted flat screen TV with a DVD player which made for a nice touch when spending time relaxing in the room. Breakfast was served daily, and always fresh and delicious. Free water and tea/coffee available at any time. Laundry services are available (and our clothes came back smelling amazing!) The homestay is located directly off the main road in Tebesaya with an array of shops, convenient stores, and healthy vegetarian and Balinese restaurants available nearby. Also, the yoga barn is 1km down the road, and we spent a lot of time easily walking to and from the yoga barn by foot.
Also, when we first arrived to Bali, we were not feeling well and were sick in bed for a couple of days. Komong and her family gladly and without hesitation took care of us, providing us with food and whatever else we needed to help us feel better and enjoy our stay.
Overall, great place and would recommend to anyone visiting Ubud! We will definitely be coming back soon for another stay!
- Jennifer (6/5): Don't be deceived by the pictures - The hotel is not a hotel. The rooms are lovely but the pictures are deceiving because the rooms are part of a local home with chickens and miscellaneous scenery down an alleyway. To leave the place, you have to walk through the families courtyard. They are friendly and attentive, but it wasn't what we wanted or expected.
- Sarah (10/5): Feel welcome in an easy and relaxing place - A very laid back place to be, set within a family compound. The family is very helpful but not at all intrusive. There is lovely music in the morning.
The rooms are clean and attractive, I enjoyed the foot massaging shower base. (loose smooth stones), the building is new, so no sign of Gekos or even insects
An easy walk to the centre of Ubud, and plenty of places to eat very close by.
- T (10/5): Quiet, homely, relaxing - It was my parents' 50th Wedding anniversary. They wanted something calm and quiet so in two weeks at Tebesaya Homestay, they became part of Komang's family and would love to visit again. The bed was very comfortable, the setting homely and welcoming. The stones on the shower floor were interesting. No AC yet, but it wasn't necessary at this time of year (September-October). Great service and a wonderful atmosphere to relax peacefully.
- Sonia (10/5): We booked for 4 nights and ended up staying for 9! - We booked for 4 nights but loved it so much the minute we arrived that we booked an extra 5 days. Great sized comfortable room with lovely wooden furniture and fittings. This homestay is very new and all the bedding/towels etc are very nice. The homestay is close to the centre but set back off the main road so has a lovely peaceful feel. Nice sized balcony to relax on also. Good breakfast, wifi etc etc everything just great. And best of all such a lovely family. They are great hosts and do everything to make you feel at home. And we booked several activities with them including cycling, trekking and hiring a car with driver as they got as great prices with good companies. Very hard to leave this place and want to move in!
- Aaron (10/5): great stay worth every penny - Lovely people that make you feel so welcome, really nice calm atmosphere..rooms new and fresh with nice furniture in.worth every penny, would definitely go back, close to monkey forest and shops.lovely stay Aaron & Emily
