- Amy (8/5): Unique stay - I needed a place to stay for one night. It was clean and unique. The staff was incredibly friendly. The room was clean. The shared bathroom was clean. Bring your own soap and shampoo. The ac was cold which was wonderful.

- James (8/5): - Chose to stay at Panama House Bed and Breakfast simply due to its location being close to a Metro (train station) so I could cheaply and easily get there from the airport. I also used the same Metro (Argentina) to go all the way to the end of Red Line (Albrook station), then cross the highway via overpass (signed) to the bus station where I caught bus C810.to Panama Canal. After overpass go down to ground level and street at back between shopping centre, go to the right (Yellow C section) and look for Miraflores on both the bus and sign above where it stops. Only costs a few US dollars to use Metro and Metro buses. Way cheaper than tours. It is a hostel that seems to have more permanent residents than backpackers. So lacked that aspect of meeting fellow travelers to explore with you look for with a hostel. Also only two toilets and one shower (which is in same room as one of the toilets). Toilet and shower didn't have locks on own doors but you could lock the outside door. So you're wondering if other people are busting to go when using those. No dorm room key. When I arrived the owner who seemed annoyed he was interrupted from playing music with some of the permanents asked me to pay for the room even though it was already paid for. He then after I showed him reservation where it says I paid, looked up his computer agreed I had paid through Expedia (um no I did it here through Wotif). Also has some large birds in cages that make a lot of noise early morning.

The a/c worked but only starting at 6 pm so I couldn’t hang out in the room - but that’s ok - just didn’t know prior. The bed was firm/hard but better than others I’ve had. Pillow was lacking but ok. I would stay again.

The shade, the breeze and the quietness of the place were much appreciated on those very warm and busy days. The common areas make it easy to meet other travelers. There's a supermarket and a great fruit stand just a few minutes' walk from the property.

Staff was very kind and helpful. Via Argentina is about 10 minutes away by foot and the area felt safe and walkable at 10pm. Metro station is also about 10 minutes away. Highly recommended.
- Charlotte (10/5): An Oasis In A Busy City - This was a lovely hostel. Me and my friend felt extremely safe and calm here. The host was amazing, she gave us recommendations and always had a huge smile on her face. Me and my friend shared a double bedroom which had aircon and a view onto the pet parrot and parakeets. The complimentary breakfast was yummy and just what we needed. This is a great hostel if you are wanting a little oasis from the hustle and bustle of Panama City! The only suggestion would be to bring your own hand soap as there wasn’t any in the bathroom :)

- Melinda (8/5): A Panama City gem - The hosts and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious, and the B&B is convenient to many areas of interest in Panama City. While the place could be a bit quieter, the wonderful people and lovely courtyard made up for it. Bonus points for being dog-friendly and having (free) parking out front.

- chris (8/5): close to metro and easy to get to everywhere - If you are looking for a more quiet place to stay. This is the place. Not too many travelers. the location is good. It is very close to metro station and easy to get to wherever you want. From airport, you can buy a metro card using the kiosk next to the exit door in lower level. Usually there is someone there to help. there are 2 kiosks on each door. the cost is $3 + $2 fare. You can take the E489 bus right outside the terminal to nearest metro station. From there you can get to where ever you want. Everything about the hostel is good except the parrots. just too noisy in the early morning. But you will get used to it. It is perfect place to stay and plan your next journey. I stayed 5 days and like it there. the place is clean and has AC. There is also laundry service in the hostel. The only person who speak English is the owners. They are very friendly. Internet is good. There is no tour desk so you have to figure out everything yourself. Of cause owner will try to help out but they usually are pretty busy. It is close to clinic in case you need to see a doctor. There are few convenience stores near by where you can buy groceries. Overall I like the hostel and will stay there again. If you are looking for a party or to meet many travelers, this might not be the best option. there is no sign outside the hostel when I was there so you need GPS to find the location. right cross the street is a restaurant.

You have to ring the door every every time you want to enter, so it wouldn’t be good for coming back late to. Cute dogs! Cute parrot. Nice kitchen. Really nice people. Super clean. It’s better if you speak Spanish, I don’t think they speak much English.

- SoloFam (8/5): - The owner is welcoming and makes you feel like family. We had a problem with where we were going to staying on the Caribbean side, we came crawling home and our room was available. Only negative I would say was their barking dog. First two nights were really noisy with other guests (I think one worker was involved too), but as soon as we brought it to the owners attention, the problem was taken care of. Would definitely go back.

If you are into this kind of thing and making sure you never eat breakfast alone, then this is for you. If you are a Hilton or Hyatt type of person who values comfort over human interaction, then perhaps this place isn’t for you. The owner goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and at home. She is the most genuine and warm person you would ever meet.

- Laura (10/5): Great bnb in El Cangrejo neighborhood. - We loved our stay at Panama House BNB so much we hope to stay there again. The hostel is a charming rambling building with cute private and public areas. The breakfasts were lovely. We did not eat lunch or dinner there but the smells from the kitchen were wonderful. We met tourists from other hostels and locals enjoying dinner and drinks on the front porch. The best part of our experience was interacting with the owner, Alva. She was so helpful when we were confused about transportation and gave us good suggestions of places to eat and things to do.

I also like that they're one of the few hotels in Panama that actually seem to take good care of their parrot. Neighborhood isn't as interesting as some, but is safe and close to the Metro stop.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect value, perfect staff! - Great family owned hotel with perfect value for the Money. You instantely feel at home. The boss Alva, her staff like Oliva, Jenifer, Rosi.....hard to find more friendly People who always assist you when you need any help. We instantly made a new reservation.
- jon (8/5): Overall a good value. - Several times now, the hotel has not received my reservation form Hotels.com in time and they were overbooked. Earlier times, I was bumped but I guess this time, they bumped out someone else. I recommend emailing them right away to reserve when you book through Hotels.com-apparently there is a lag. Service is always super friendly. Breakfast is decent, even for my vegetarian diet. The rooms could use painting. Overall, a good value.

- jon (8/5): Great low budget choice - I have stayed at Panama House B&B several times now. Make no mistake, it is a budget accommodation. The paint is not fresh, and there are maintenance issues. The thing that sets it apart, and the reason for high ratings however, is the consistent level of caring and friendly service. Its really quite great, especially for Panama. I checked in early and was resting in my room when a dog outside my window that apparently belonged to a visitor or staff person began to bark periodically. I went to the reception to complain and they immediately upgraded me to a room farther away. This is the right way to do things. No excuses... I enjoy the breakfast-there is always fresh fruit which of course is great in Panama. This is a great low-budget choice.
- Paul (10/5): Comfortable and affordable - The room was just abit dirty, but the beds were clean and the shower was good and hot with good pressure. The breakfast was pretty good and the outside was interesting with lots of stuff for the kids to interact with.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Nice Hosts, Could Use Better Cleaning - After a week of crashing at hostels, I figured this would be a bit more upscale than the other places I've stayed at. To their credit the showers were clean, the breakfast was okay, standard eggs, toast, and hotdogs. But dear God, the sheets were a mess. I only noticed the stains after room service had changed them on the second night. I requested another set of bed sheets, only to find other stains on those as well. The housekeeper proceeded to look through a few sets before finding one without stains, that killed the cleanliness vibe for me. I had also planned on washing my clothes but their broken washing machine was only had a hot setting.
- JUNE (10/5): Quaint bed & breakfast in Panama City - A delightful bed & breakfast/hostel. Clean, patios in front & back, breakfast of eggs, meat, fruit, toast, coffee/tea/juice. Most days they also have lunch for $4 or $5. You can get a beer of a drink at the bar. Really friendly helpful staff, about 50% are Spanish speaking. Ceiling fans and air conditioning. Great conversation with other guests from all over the world.
- Steve (10/5): Cozy clean rooms - The hotel has a good treasure stored inside . The treasure is the people that work there. They are all so friendly and smile all the time. With my limited Spanish there was no problem communicating as we all laughed together and were happy to help each other out in learning. It was nice to share experiences with other travelers . A laid back place and I like that in a stressful world . I intend to stay many more times .
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just ok - Family run hostel, people is very nice and helpful. The breakfast was just ok, they don't have much to chose, toasts and fruit, coffee but not milk. It could be cleanest, there are ants everywhere but I think this is quite common in Panama.
- Nadia (6/5): Not cheap enough - We booked a night in this hostel after seeing a lot of positive reviews. We found really nice people were staying in this hostal, but the overall feeling was far from pleasing to stay. We had issues with the check-in, having first told that the hostel was full and our reservation wasn't recorded in the hostel's records, and it took three different persons to review the records and find our reservation. The air conditioning in the room was working, but in the entrance it seemed to be specific schedules for having it on. The kitchen didn't seem to be very clean.
- Donald (10/5): Best stay in Panama - I had a wonderful stay. The staff are the most friendly people I met while in Panama. They made me feel like a member of the family, with a lot of fun and laughter. I would recommend staying here to everyone looking for a quiet, friendly, home environment. I will always stay there during my visits to Panama.
