Guest Reviews
- Marc-André (8/5): Hotel propre et bien situé - Bien situé et propre Un peu bruyant
- Nijjar (10/5): - Every thing is close by Price is bit higher than normal
- Peter (5/5): This is a very basic hotel. - Nothing. Poor. Location in a shopping mall. Over priced.
- Alan (8/5): Great - The price was way to much, I’ve stayed in lots of hotels and it was the most expensive
- Gary (9/5): -
- Harman (10/5): - Everything, it was in a great area great design and layout of the building and great staff If you could add a fountain next to the ice maker that would be lovely.
- James (9/5): Great location and a good room - No issues and friendly staff. Hotel used to provide a continental free breakfast and a discount on an ordered breakfast. Would like to have that again.
- Ana Cecilia (5/5): -
- Linda A (4/5): - This hotel is in a very convenient location, which is the primary reason we stay there. This visit was one of many that we have made over the past 4 years, and we were quite astounded at how old/tired the decor, bathroom fixtures, carpets, etc. are. It's like opening a door to the 60's...and not intentionally to reflect a retro style. Also, the sheets felt like they were on their last leg...definitely not the crisp and fresh quality that one anticipates when staying at a hotel that charges 230.00+ per night. During previous visits, we received a $10.00 voucher toward breakfast...not this time! The one positive comment I have is regarding the service provided by desk clerk Deanna, who cleared up a booking error on our part.
- michael (7/5): -
- Ute (10/5): - Convenient location. Good breakfast provided.
- richard (10/5): - Ample parking. Shopping near by.
- Kingsley (6/5): - Walked into the lobby and it smelled like strong cigarette smoke. The Lady checking us in was very rude and kept rolling her eyes at us. She should not work in hospitality.
Checkout was great the lady the next morning was very nice and smiled and very professional.
- Roger (7/5): Convenient position, comfortable, helpful & friendly staff - Good position in town / close to the ferry terminal. Comfortable beds & friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of free parking. Decor very dated. Bar which is part of hotel was too noisy and too many sports screens so we went elsewhere for dinner.
Heavy metal music at breakfast time in the dining room was obtrusive!
- Dagmar (7/5): Value for money - zweckmäßiges Hotel - wir schätzen getrennte Betten - relativ ruhig gelegen - Kontinentales Frühstück eher basic
- Arleigh (8/5): - All good
- Eleanor (8/5): -
- Susan (6/5): - Cleanliness Noise from the street
- Scott (6/5): - They changed the circulation to the parking lot when they expanded outdoor seating. They closed the access from the rear so you need to enter off the busy intersection. Joyce is busy and the side entry at Barnet is in only one way. Then when you get parked there was a sign on the sliding entry door that the west sun overheats the operator so you need to pull the doors apart. So don’t try it if your hands are full or if you have a disability. I booked with Expedia and I got the worst room possible. My window looked at a back wall of a cabana in the courtyard and there were garden hoses and construction materials back there. It was hidden from the public areas of the courtyard, but exclusive view just for me. The hotel was not busy so why rent this room? Less distance for housekeeping is my guess.

- Frank (7/5): Good location but lacking in amenities. - Clean updated rooms. No amenities besides a restaurant and conference room. The booking said breakfast was included but the only option was a sit down restaurant that cost us an extra $70.
- Charles (7/5): It's OK but could be cleaner and better maintained - Comfortable bed.
Air conditioning. The bathroom door was not framed well. To close the door you had to push very hard. When you opened the door there was an alarming noise and the front panel of the door was flapping off the door.
Cleaning was not great. There was a dark stain on the top of the sheets on the bad. Were the sheets changed? Looking behind the bedside table there was a LOT of dust - not cleaned in a very long time.
- Brian (8/5): - An older hotel, but we return most years and stay there due to its location. We enjoy the bar/lounge and while they are changing their continental bkfst, we always enjoy the dining room and staff.
- Martina (9/5): - Freundlicher Empfang, angenehme Zimmergröße,
Eismaker,
Frühstück inbegriffen war einfach (Kaffee, Saft, Toast oder Beagel, Ei, Marmelade, Joghurt) ./.
- Deborah (7/5): Functional hotel with average decor, okay for one night stay - Close to town
- Walter (10/5): - pleasant
- Simon (8/5): - Excellent petit déjeuner continental avec service souriant
- susan (10/5): - Good size rooms, clean, quiet. Great location. Close to the mall.
- Nancy (8/5): Our Always Stay in PR - Location perfect...LG comfy beds and bedding The bathrooms need to be updated..and maybe the Staff could smile once...
- Eileen (7/5): Very disappointed in clerk’s attitude and in paying for something I didn’t get. - A very basic and clean hotel Advertised as providing breakfast on booking.com. Hotel refused us breakfast saying they’d asked booking.com to remove it 4 times from the ad. Clerk said it was our problem and to take it up with booking.com. I messaged customer service 3 days ago: no response
Funny thing tho is we stayed here a month ago, also booked with booking.com, and breakfast was provided. Same rate both instances.
- Balme (8/5): Great sleep but no breakfast - My booking said it came with breakfast. But no breakfast. Disappointed and ripped off. Breakfast
- David (8/5): - Great location.
- Colin (5/5): Some small hitches but otherwise good - It’s clean and good location for hiking SCT We asked for early bird breakfast and got charged for all Canadian breakfast. When I claimed this the server was adamant that we had requested all Canadian. I know what we had and we are the customers. Also front desk staff were a bit tense. Would have been 10/10 otherwise.
- Laurence (8/5): - Check in was not the best customer getting and service.
Noisy joint parking lot with other businesses.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Siobhan (10/5): - Easy and comfortable stay
- Jiawen (2/5): I can’t help but feel that all of these issues weren’t just a coincidence — it was a consistently po - This outdated hotel left me with many disappointments. First of all, the "automatic" front door doesn't open automatically — it must be pulled open by hand, which already gave a poor first impression. I had requested an extra bed well in advance, but when I arrived after 7 p.m., it was not in the room. I had to go to the front desk and ask someone to bring it in.
As for the extra bed itself — it was shaped like a "U," sagging badly in the middle, making for an extremely uncomfortable night's sleep.
There was also a white panel mounted on the wall in the room, with no label or explanation of its purpose, but it emitted a strange noise throughout the night. It disrupted my sleep so badly that I finally had to unplug it.
The so-called continental breakfast offered nothing warm or comforting for my 70-year-old parents visiting from China — it was completely underwhelming.
Finally, when checking out, I was told that the payment I had already made via Booking.com could not be used, and I was required to submit payment again.
At this point, I can’t help but feel that all of these issues weren’t just a coincidence — it was a consistently poor experience from start to finish Very old facilities. Appliances in the room are very noisy. We have to unplug the refrigerator because it was too loud. We actually needed the fridge to keep yogurt and milk cold, but unfortunately, we have to unplug it. - tianna (8/5): - Staff friendly, close to lots of activities and food options
- J.B. (6/5): -
- deeb227 (2/5): Terrible - My sisters stayed there on 08/02/2025 ,there staff wasn’t very helpful, coffee pot didnt work and they won’t or didnt want provide a another one, when they checked in the carpets were still wet,I’m very disappointed in how they were treated
- Kristen (10/5): - Solo female teaveler. Needed a place to sleep on my way home from canada. I didn't need anything fancy and wanted to save some money.
This place was great from the moment I walked in. The man who greeted me was kind and warm and had me checked in and ready to go so fast! He gave me great directions that parked me literally in front of my 2nd floor room.
People staying there were kind - hello's, etc. and i didnt feel scared taking a walk around the property to move a little.
The next morning, I realized I had a meeting at check-out time and I went t
- Connie (4/5): - The staff were lovely The room has terribly noisy with building HVAC. Not the unit in our room. It was so bad both my husband and I had to wear noise cancelling headphones whenever we were in our room. The bed was saggy. Towels were worn.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Muhua (8/5): It's a good place to stay! - Staff in breakfast room is very nice! I hope have more choices in breakfast is better!

- Eric (8/5): - The staff are friendly. The rooms are clean. The beds are very comfortable
However there are several problem areas.
The automatic front doors to lobby do not open when it’s hot outside.
The latest room I stayed in had an odor.
I asked them to replace my room with another. They did.
The second room was hot. The AC was not working. The display was reading an error code.
The front desk staff told me this happens often. I was told to unplug it from the wall and plug it back in.
This building is in need of extensive maintenance. It is unfair that the Hotel staff have deal with the building’s so comings.
Several of the walls in the rooms have missing wall paper. Dents in the walls.
I have pictures if you need to verify

Got a room at the far end of the building long
Long long walk
- M (10/5): - Being greeted with a smile 😃
- BrianTravels60 (7/5): -
- Mario (4/5): - lets start with the continental breakfast. if you like fruit loops, dry bread for toast and terrible coffee then you'll be fine. the other option is you can order from their menu. (money grab). for the cost of a one night stay this hotel is overpriced. Hotel is in much needed updates. Hallway carpets are dirty and stained, walls are marked up and dirty. This hotel has seen better days
- Cai Annie (6/5): - The air conditioner in the room was quite noisy, but window can’t be opened for fresh air. TV in the room was tiny and not a smart TV, so programs were all out of dated. The food from TC’s pub ( hotel owned) did not taste good.
- Robert (8/5): PR Trip - Our stay was good no problems, all staff was courteous and did the jobs well. Special shout out to Terry in the Restaurant, Good Service and pleasant person to chat with! Thanks Teresa
- Yunyoung (10/5): - I liked they provided EV charging station and a breakfast
- Robert (10/5): - I really enjoyed this property the staff was fantastic lots of parking quick access to both ferry terminal s.
- Karen (8/5): - The staff were amazing going out of their way to help us get to a wedding.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Good location, clean - This centrally located hotel is clean, has a very good breakfast and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
- Norbert (8/5): -
- Roderick (9/5): -
- Brandi (6/5): - None of my information from expedia was sent to the hotel. They had the booking, but that was it. We had to fill out paperwork at the front desk, as well as the agent entered it all into their computer at the same time, asking us all the info that was on the paperwork... like why ? That was unnecessary and a complete waste of time.
The continental breakfast is pathetic, if you don't get there first thing in the morning, they don't restock ANYTHING. Service in both (restaurant and pub) is super slow, they're understaffed and under trained. Prices are way too high honestly (the hotel and the pub attached)
Hotel is clean, mattresses are awful, no pillow top or anything, very outdated and needs some renos for the price of the rooms.
Location of the hotel is central, it was convenient
- Beader25 (10/5): Spotless and excellent staff - This hotel has new owners and had been fully renovated. It was simple but spotless and the staff were fantastic and so helpful. They were also friendly and welcoming. Great value and a great experience. Great location downtown. I will definitely stay here again.
- Silvia (8/5): - Ok stay nice grounds and good food in the pub
- Corinne (8/5): Decent hotel. - Clean, convenient location, friendly check in A lot of parking lot, hallway and room noise Friday and Saturday nights
- Melissa (5/5): Decent stay, convenient location, let down by staff service and breakfast. - Location and convenience are good. Rooms are dated and basic but have what you’d expect like a TV, coffee machine and mini hair dryer. We were there for the mtb trails and were able to store the bikes in our room with no qualms. TCs bar attached is nice for an evening drink and wasn’t loud or busy over the weekend. The majority of staff are beyond rude and snap back upon any request or change from their norms. Customer service was amiss in this place and in general none of them seemed to show any happiness for working there. Any customer interaction came across like an inconvenience or annoyance…
The free continental breakfast is one of the main reasons we booked here but it’s not worth it at all. Definitely one of the most disappointing breakfasts I’ve seen anywhere. Their other option is to get a $5 discount on the cooked breakfast menu but when you choose that you forfeit the coffee machine and they make you pay $4.50 for a cup from the same machine so the discount becomes irrelevant.
- Karen (4/5): - My sister and I were stuck in town as our flight home was cancelled (2 times). We paid $235 +taxes for a “deluxe room” with a queen bed and a double sofa bed. I’m well aware that sofa beds are notoriously uncomfortable, but I could have dealt with that. What I couldn’t deal with was a sofa bed that was filthy and clearly not changed for a while. Messy, dirty sheets. I showed a picture to the front desk and there was hardly an apology, only “we will send someone up to make it”. As if I wanted to lay in that bed after that! I told her not to bother as my sister and I would share the bed. It is certainly not the 8.4stars listed on Expedia or Hotels.com. Not sure how this rating came be.
However, if you are stuck in town, the food and staff at Iguanas Grill were great and Elena in the not so awesome hotel bar was sweet. And people in town are really nice.
- Giuseppina (7/5): One bad apple can spoil your stay! - Was fair, staff friendly Everything was fine and all staff were informative and friendly until our last day! Encountered a rude older woman at the main desk who didn’t want to help me with ferry sailings and told me she was very busy! 10 seconds later another guest began speaking with the front desk person who had plenty of time to speak with her!
- Ian (7/5): -
- Kathy (10/5): - Great location, close to all amenities, quiet
- J2490ATkevins (2/5): Old and run down - Horrible hotel old and dirty carpets, the lady at the desk was rude there were teenagers outside in the parking lot screaming all night and the restaurant In there was old and warn down and nasty breakfast included . I will never go back there again
- Patricia (6/5): - It would have been a really good place to stay if not for the cockroaches in the rooms. I was moved to the second room after complaining but it was the same there too. The staff appeared as if this is the first time they heard about cockroaches in the rooms. Definitely they are in the building if they appeared in both rooms I was in.
- Mike (5/5): I like the place, but have NEVER had a smooth check in, it’s infuriating. - Location The complimentary breakfast is ridiculous. The front staff are referred to as the “room Nazis”.
- Indah2014 (10/5): Clean and Modern Rooms - We stayed at the Powell River Town Centre Hotel in February. It's a very nice hotel for a small town. The Rooms are modern and clean, its a quiet hotel and its located near a mall and shopping plaza. The location is great as there is a grocery stone near by, few food outlets and the hotel has two restaurants as well. Rooms have a microwave, a large (for a hotel) fridge, so you can pick up things at the grocery store or save leftovers. Staff was very nice and friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
- terry (7/5): - Continental breakfast could have been better.
- O'Neill (8/5): -
- S1247GDlaurenl (2/5): STAY FAR AWAY! - From the moment you walk through the doors, the hotel staff treat every guest—including children—as if they are criminals.
We stayed here for a U13 hockey tournament with 11 families, and the experience was nothing short of appalling. At check-in, the staff showed blatant disrespect toward both parents and kids, with an attitude that felt hostile rather than welcoming. The woman handling check-ins, overwhelmed by a short line of parents, abruptly announced, “I’m going to give one big speech on the rules, and they must be strictly followed!”
Security patrolled the hallways, ensuring both kids and parents stayed confined to their rooms. As a paying adult, I do not appreciate being treated like an inmate simply for having a brief conversation with another parent about tournament plans. Being told I was "disturbing the peace" and ordered back to my room was beyond inappropriate.
If this hotel dislikes hockey teams, they should simply not allow them to stay. Reasonable guests understand rules to maintain order, but there is no excuse for treating families—especially children—with such hostility.
Beyond the terrible customer service, the accommodations themselves were disappointing. The rooms are outdated, the beds are hard as plywood, and the sheets feel like sandpaper.
The staff desperately need customer service training, and management should seriously reconsider how they treat guests. Given that the town likely relies on tournaments to support the local economy during winter, alienating visitors is a terrible business move.
Our team has been assigned this hotel again for another tournament in March—but we will not be staying here. The way we were treated was unacceptable.
- allycolina (2/5): Tired. Hotel or Juvenile Detention Center? - Avoid if you can.
Hotel staff treat every customer, including children as if they are criminals, the second you walk in the door.
We stayed as a part of a hockey tournament with 11 families/rooms. Upon arrival everyone refused early check in - despite the hotel clearly not being busy or full. At check in, the staff treated both parents and children with utter disrespect and a deep undercurrent of vitriol.
If you hate hockey players and parents, don’t allow teams to stay. If you’ve had issues in the past, reasonable people understand rules to keep behaviour and noise in check, but you absolutely cannot treat people with such disrespect and treat children who haven’t done anything wrong like juvenile delinquents.
Rooms are tired, circa 1970-something. Not an update to be found.
Staff require training in customer service. Management, give your heads a shake, you can’t treat customers this way and expect anyone to return, all the worst considering the town must depend on tournaments to support the local economy during the winter.
- Ken (10/5): - Nice enough place, a little old, but then again, so am I !
- Gillian (7/5): It was nice thank you. - Everything was good, the hallway smelled and that would be my only feedback. Front desk staff was excellent and helpful, kind and friendly. Same with the Pub.
- W2959ONag (10/5): Relaxing and Comfortable - Enjoyed the stay while waiting to take the ferry. Check in was super convenient and met with a friendly smile. Conveniently located, we enjoyed the afternoon walking around and visiting the mom and pop shops before settling in for a nice dinner and a few drinks. In addition to the location, the continental breakfast is pleasant and enjoyable.
- Shannon (10/5): - Great Space
- Jon (10/5): Convenient, comfortable good value. - Location, value, rooms. Booking rooms for our crews and because my name was on one of the rooms you weren’t going to give them the room. Good thing I was in cell service to ok it.
I’ll make sure the proper names are on each room next time.
- Cathy (8/5): - .
- Douglas (8/5): -
- James (8/5): No issues friendly staff - No issues Parking lot a bit rough
- Ferguson (7/5): - The staff we met were helpful and kind (except 1) the location was great and the rooms were very clean. The front desk person at check-in wasn't very helpful when checking in. Seemed to lack the typical customer service skills. A different employee had to get her attention to come to the front desk and she didn't direct us in any way of where the rooms were located. We figured it out and it didn't tarnish our stay but that was the only negative part of our experience at this hotel.
- Fred (8/5): - Good hotel, normal as it should be.
- Catherine (8/5): A great place to stay! - Very friendly and helpful staff
Great location
Good amenities
Clean room
Large room
Free breakfast There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like
- Joanne (8/5): - Love hotel staff always friendly
- kevin (4/5): Not ever staying there again - It was very central to everything The reception was rude as soon as I walked In and the rooms are not worth the price paid
