Guest Reviews

- Janine (10/5): -
- Adam (10/5): -
- John (9/5): One the best diving vacations I ever had. Will return. - The best resort to stay at to dive the wrecks of Coron. Matt the dive instructor is awesome and the whole staff very friendly They are expanding by adding more rooms and a pool so that was noisy but should be done by end of 2026
- Sean (4/5): -
- sophie (9/5): - The location Commuting boat should be cheaper
- Jamelle (10/5): What a special place. - Loved the people here. Such a special slice of heaven. It was very hard to leave.
- laura (5/5): - La ubicación y que era un centro de buceo Instalaciones en regular estado, habían muchos insectos y cucarachas dentro de la habitación , no han limpiado la habitación durante nuestra estancia
- Michael (2/5): - There was nothing liked . The staff was just so so. Rooms where just ok. No hot water. They served no lunch. No menu for dinner. You had to eat what they decided to cook. And it was served at 7.30 pm. No matter how hungry you might be. Then at end of stay the hit you with extra charges. The place is a total rip off.
- Thomas (10/5): - careful of the sugar/black ants, unavoidable but definitely no open food in the room and will be fine, they don't bite at least.
other than that it was great. nice and quiet and a good escape from the city for a while. island hopping was reasonably priced and shorter boat ride away compared to other resorts. diving courses and tours offered for both novice and experienced divers which are excellent.
- Dominic (8/5): Just what we were looking for. A superb 4 days. - All food was great. Staff were superb. Location was perfect. Diving was exceptional. The shower in the highest room was only a dribble. Not a problem but could have been better.
Thats the only thing.
- Steve (3/5): This was once a nice resort but it’s under construction and maybe will be nice once completed but I would avoid it until - Wife and I went for wreck diving and enjoyed the dives. Everything about this property is in need of repair. The electricity only runs from 4:30pm to 7:00am. Rooms are not insulated and they never get cool.
WiFi is spotty and the staff sits around and uses up most of the bandwidth. No daily room service or hot water in shower. Food was OK but they constantly ran out of drinks. The dive boats are old and worn out but they do run. The dive shop needs repair and the construction crew used the rinse tanks to wash their dishes. The resort is undergoing a major renovation but they really need to shut down until this is completed.
- Marc (10/5): - The resort is set on a small island away from the loud town. The staff was beyond amazing, as well as the food. What I enjoyed most was the diving opportunities and the chance to sit down with other divers and the instructor and enjoy great conversation about the area and diving. Much better than being in the nearby town and only getting the dive experience. We loved every minute of our stay. It's perfect for those thinking about diving as well as the experienced diver. 10/10
- Katrina (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location for the Wreck Dives. The staff are all so accommodating and lovely. We have stayed there twice now and we love it.
- Princess (3/5): Poor -
- Sunny (10/5): Exceptional - Nice view relaxing
And quite area Sea view
Beach
- Gurpreet (10/5): - I absolutely adore and enjoy this island. It was a private, beautiful, gorgeous property freshly cooked food breakfast lunch, and dinner. You can go scuba diving on different spots, snorkeling, island hopping.
- Powell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aric (8/5): Very good -
- Chloe (10/5): Absolutely loved our stay, diving and instructor and staff were fantastic. As was the location and food - The location is stunning, the staff were friendly, the food was amazing. The diving was perfect. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay on every level. Nothing
- Powell (10/5): Exceptional - Wreck diving is excellent here. Very nice place for diving enthusiasts
- Annette (7/5): We needed a complete break & get away, this was the perfect option for us. Amazing staff and food ! - The local staff are really lovely and the food was amazing. The island and location is just beautiful. The resort itself is small, which is nice, starting though to be in need of some TLC and updating (we understand this is planned). Limited equipment was available, although the staff very kindly went out and bought more snorkelling gear for us. Diving is mostly wreck-focused so if you are into looking at sunken japenese warships, then its great.
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Maxine (8/5): - The transfers arranged by the hotel were easy and efficient. The location is stunning!
- Anne (3/5): Avoid for now to prevent disappointment. - The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen personnel were very kind and made a delicious dinner. A lot... first we had no water coming from the shower or sink for at least two days, that was extremely uncomfortable. The price for the boat trip to get there and back is too high. For the amount of money they ask for the stay you wouldn't think the boat ride is that expensive. 750php ( which already increased to 1200php) per person per transfer. There is a lot of personnel laying around on the beach beds. We asked for laundry service and once we asked for it back after 2 days it was still soaking wet with the explanation that it didn't hang in the sun (it was clear blue skies..). So we had to hang every piece of clothing in our room the night before our departure. The diving was also quit disappointing. They say that they are a dive resort but they're not. Our boat broke down halfway and we had to be towed to the dive side. We were with to many people for the amount of space so the set up was uncomfortable and chaotic. There where no spare gear on board. By my own mistake I dropped my goggles and couldn't come with the dive and had to wait. In the afternoon we took another boat which wasn't equipped for diving so there where no stairs to get back in the boat after the dive. We wanted to do a shore dive on our own. They said that they would set everything up for us. After an hour we wanted to head out and our stuff was still in the basket or missing. There were no tanks so we had to call someone who told us to go get it ourselves. Overall you can't call this a dive resort. At the end they gave us the bill. There were so many wrongs. They wanted us to pay again for the room and taxes and fees. They didn't gave us a discount for bringing our own diving equipment which they said they would in the beginning. The diving prices are the highest we have experienced in the Philippines. And they wanted to charge us the 1200php 4x for the boat.
- Taye (10/5): Picturesque Spot - View was stunning, staff were incredible and extremely helpful, rooms had lovely AC and were spacious.
- Marjorie A (10/5): An Island all to yourself!, or it certainly feels - We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful resort. A wonderful surprise awaited us at our checkin, both breakfast and supper were included in the price of our room. (Im not sure if that was mentioned in the write-up about this resort) And the food was great. Our room was clean and comfy although the wifi at the room was sketchy at best. It was good in the common area. The staff, led by Matt, were the best and did everything to accommodate us.
- Paolo (10/5): Great place made really enjoyable by the resort working personnel - Great location for divers and also for snorkeling: you could reach the best diving locations in the area as well as the best beaches. Very helpful and supportive personnel working on the resort as well as diving center. Resort management could be more present and more proactive in reaching out to guests
- Hjbuk (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning remote location with world class diving.
- Brianne (5/5): Passable -
- Dean (8/5): Nice experience but primitive. - Great snorkeling a short Kayak ride away with amazing coral. Dive staff was knowledgeable and helpful. No internet in the rooms and electricity was off during the afternoon so no AC for several hours a day.
- Samira (10/5): Overall, my stay at this hotel was perfect in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable travel - the hotel offered extremely well-organized and exciting diving courses. Matt The instructor was knowledgeable and attentive to the safety of the divers. I truly enjoyed this opportunity to explore the magnificent underwater world of the region. Nothing
- Lea (8/5): Relaxing, great diving, tasty meals - Chindonan is located in a remote place and I had no problem getting there after being picked up at the port from the ferry - 45 minute speedboat ride. I came here for the diving and it did not disappoint. The food at the restaurant was tasty and offered a variety, including for vegetarians. All units require many steps to get there so it’s not for those who don’t want or cannot walk distances and stairs.
- Uri (4/5): - No Electric From 7:00 am to 4:30pm
NO Hot water.
- Ashton.25 (10/5): Exceptional - The resort is amazing, perfect position for snorkeling and diving with incredible views. Very quiet and relaxing. We really loved our stay and would definitely go back, highly recommend. The room price was a bit high but for the tranquility of the area, it was still a wonderful stay.
- Miguel (7/5): Good - The location of the restaurant where the the brekfast and dinner is served was great! Loved to have dinner there.
The location is great if what you look for is diving, as is a few minutes by boat front the Japanese boats, which gurantee (at least in my case) to have the boats just for you and not find other dive groups which come from Coron.
The area in general is gorgeous, just the boat ride from Coron to the hotel is a pleasure.
The dive center and dive master were great as well, only think I missed, as we are speaking about a resort, is to have some more snacks or drinks into the boat. There were no water in our room during whole first day and all the mornings, as fas as I understood, due to the lack of rains in the last weeks.
The hotel is great if you are a diver, but if you are not, as the case of my partner, there is no much to do, as the beach is not great for swimming.
- Laura (10/5): As a solo female traveler Pierre (the owner), Matt (the dive instructor) and all of the other staff made me feel extreme - The dive resort is in a beautiful location with stunning views and the dives I did were extremely interesting with the option of reef dives teaming with life or Japanese Ships from WW2. The resort is full of lush green bush and the reef is protected around the resort which makes excellent diving and snorkeling.
My room was lovely and comfortable with an amazing view. The restaurant offered delicious food and the buffet meals in the evening had so much variety and cooked to a high standard.
It was easy and reasonable to arrange a boat to the island through the resort. Nothing. Excellent place.
- Katrina (10/5): Exceptional - Location was stunning. And perfect for all the dive spots close by. The staff were super friendly and made the effort to ensure we had a great holiday. We stayed 2 nights, but would have loved to be there for an extra night or two to be able to do more dives and more exploring of the area.
- Francisco (10/5): The diver paradise - These guys know that i love this place … and i will come back. The paradise for resting and divers It’s impossible to be better
- Teresita (7/5): There is nothing not to like about this place except for the fire ants. - The location is ideal for wreck diving. The resort is nestled in a cove overlooking a beautiful bay. Dive operation is professional and the dive master, Naome is lovely. The staff are halpful and the food was very good. If you are dependent on wifi, the rooms don't have it. But you can go the the bar or dining area for connectivity. Also, electric power is available from 5 pm to 7am only.
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ott (8/5): Very good -
- Ludovic (10/5): perfect diving vacation - The fact that it is secluded and our daily rhythm.
The staff is just amazingly nice. nothing really. Just don’t go there if you need a real social night life.
- Yen (1/5): Bad - Beautiful environment
Nice diving spot The room was barely cleaned.
During the three-day stay, there was no water for two days because the upstream pond was blocked.
Couldn't sleep because the nearby village was too noisy.
Extra fee for the transportation.
Also, I feel like the owner doesn't want to run the resort anymore🤣
- Kazushige (8/5): Very good -
- Andreas (9/5): Superb - Great diving and flexible to fit our needs and wishes. Close to the best divesites.
- Dave (8/5): Great experience - Fabulous place for divers. Nothing
- Aliz (10/5): little heaven - the house reef is just amazing. you can kayak to a tiny nearby island and kayak for 100s of meters in many direction, huge beautiful corals and it feels as if you are swimming in a fish tank.on the resort there are also some large lizards which are a must see.
they have a dedicated scuba diving centre with 2 instructors. Noemi was extremely attentive and great with us on our reef dives. the reefs and different ship wracks are all around you in a short boat ride away.
the owner is a lovely guy and really hands on and the support staff are all extremely friendly and dinners and breakfasts are super tasty and healthy.. ;) can’t recommend this resort enough! you must experience it!
- Martin (10/5): Perfect for naturelover and relaxing - What a beautiful place. Nature pure and no stress. The housereef is verry nice with a lot of corals and fish. This is a perfect place for relaxing and to forget aour stressful work at home. Perfekt. We will come back. At the beginning the cold shower but we understand, that to protect the nature, we need not all luxes like at home. The luxus on this island is the beauiful place where you forgot the time.
- Ada (9/5): Superb -
- Max (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (2/5): the place was nice and the workers but the owner was rude. the owner scolded his workers and we heard that he called my - the workers were hospitable and friendly. far from the tours, the room was hot and the air conditioner wasn’t working, and the owner was so rude!
- Hyeon-geun (7/5): Basic resort but excellent for divers! - The location is excellent as you will be close to most the dive sites and if you are a diver. Of course, you would not spend a night there if you are not a diver! The dinner was awesome as it had salad, chicken, rice and other stuff. The owners were super friendly and helpful. The power runs from 4pm until 7am not 5pm - 7am and again from 12 noon until 2 pm as per fine print underneath the booking. Again, if you are a diver, you will probably stay most of the time outside so should be fine.
The room is basic without hot water and the room had a distinct smell including the towels & bed sheets we have had. There were quite a bit of fire ants along the way to our room so we really had to mind our steps not to step on them.
Understandably, some of the food on the menu were not available as it was only us who were staying in the resort. I reckon it would have been a different experience if there were groups of people staying in the resort.
Internet both the wifi and the 5G/LTE is limited if you need to be connected while staying in the resort.
- Josh (10/5): Great diving access and tranquility. - The location was superb. The ambiance and nature feel.
- Trupti (2/5): Worst experience of my life - My experience at the hotel was very terrible and very bad.
It was the worst experience of my life.
The staff over there was totally not helpful.
They charge for literally everything and there are so many hidden costs.
They charge for snorkelling gear aswell and they even charge for towels
And they don't tell about this at first only at the time of final billing they include all the charges.
Dive instructor / Manager -Kenith (Denmark) is very bad and rude and he doesn't know how to behave with customers.
He was not helpful and he was very rude and he doesn't know how to talk to ladies aswell
I will definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone
Don't go there at all
You will have a very bad experience.
Dive instructor Shawn from UK is really good and he was helpful and scuba diving with him was out of the world
But other than that the experience was really really bad
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved this resort! The views are fantastic! Each unit has a terrace for sitting and enjoying the views. They also have made several other places with comfortable chairs and hammocks to sit and enjoy the time. All sorts of water sports are available: kayaks, snorkeling, island hopping, and of course diving! We are not divers but we loved everything else. I went out snorkeling right in front of the resort, straight from our lounge chair. It was gorgeous. Everything we did was gorgeous! The staff is super nice and professional. The food was delicious. We loved it all. Jut a warning: my husband and I are in our 70s and this resort is geared towards a younger set. You have to hop on and off boats and there is a lot of climbing of stairs. But for us it was no problem. Just be warned that if you have mobility issues, this isn't the place for you. Otherwise, we are going back for sure!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ken, Sean, Johanas and thw diving crew were excellent. The resort is well positioned to access all the ship wrecks in the bsy.
The local girls who operate the kitchen were fantastic. Evening buffet provided great meals and a variety of seafood, curries and fresh salads.
I can highly recommend this resort for those divers who wish to be in the middle of the Coron Bay and direct access to the wrecks.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quaint... this is a family owned and operated place that is very upscale hostel. A lot of work to keep the place up as it’s semi remote..
The operator has done a lot of work to make the place work. The food is quite good as the breakfast and dinners are included in the daily rate. Lunch is okay and not overly expensive... wonderful staff All of them. Good value
- Roger (10/5): - I like the staff and and service. But I don't really like the way they schedule the electricity. Sometimes when you stay in the resort and you need to use electricity, you have to wait until specific time
- Patrik (10/5): I come again - Extremely nice and supportive staff. Great diving experience with top divnmaster.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not kid friendly! Will not go back again! - Cons: The owner is very arrogant, rude and dislikes kids. He is present the entire time and watches every single move of yours very closely which made us felt uncomfortable. He constantly complained about the kids when he saw them in the common area. The room was without AC when requested for AC we were charged p800 per night. There was extra charge for bed per kid p2300 therefore our entire stay total cost was doubled not to our expectation. We only needed one bed but the owner said he would charges us for 2 regardless cus we had two kids. Worst of all! the running water for shower was worst, it was literally droplets of water for shower. Fyi; the owner’s dog is loose and all over the place in case you are afraid of dogs.Barely any internet to none. Basically not a kid friendly environment. Overall felt we were way overcharged!
Pros: Great local ladies with very friendly and good customer service at front desk and kitchen. Daily breakfast and dinner was served freshly. The ladies went out of their way to help you. Island hoping and scuba diving lessons and instructors were good
- vince (8/5): Good hotel excellent diving experience - Good hotel excellent diving experience
Nice staff
Very good diving team and super nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location for diving with coral reefs and ship wrecks just a short boat ride away or - actually- in front of the hotel.
- jeff (8/5): Beautiful place; great diving - If you are interested in diving and in quiet and scenic spot, this is it. No AC, but staff will do what it takes to make you comfortable. Internet slow, but works. Recommended!
- Verified traveler (8/5): We love it - Its very nice. People are so warm and eager to assist your need. Free snacks
Love it
- Carlo (10/5): Amazing location - Amazing off the grid location, with very nice snorkeling and diving spots. The resort is very basic, but with great service. If anything they could probably upgrade the rooms a little bit, with maybe aircon and a nicer shower. The experience and also service in this place are so amazing though that it doesnt matter. Thanks for a great trip!!
- Tuomas (10/5): Great place for scuba diving or just relaxing! - Stayed for four nights. Scuba dived on two days and just relaxed and did some snorkeling on the other two. Transfers from and to mainland/airport is included in the price. So is dinner. Friendly people, professional scuba instructors and good food. What else can you ask for?
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing service and a great place to relax - My girlfriend and I were there for three nights and we have zero complaints. The staff and owner went above and beyond to make our stay extra special.
- Ross (10/5): Close to dive sites. Owners treat you as family. - Small personalized service. Chindonan Island is about an hour's boat ride from town, which you can consider as a tour if you identify the islands and sites along the way. It's close to where the wrecks are. Quiet, secluded, very private, laid back. The only problem is that internet is slow, but so it is as well in Coron.
- Pierre (10/5): A small paradise - Had a wonderful stay at Chindonan. Staff and owners did everything for us from pickup in Coron to transfer to Airport. Extra plus for the kitchen. Go there if you wan't to relax or dive. For action and variety don't.
