Guest Reviews
- Tirelo (8/5): it was a good stay overall - It was good just that they are too strict on times maybe that can be adjusted. Nothing
- Sello (10/5): -
- Jaunita (7/5): A comfortable family stay. - We enjoyed the heated swimming pool. All was well.
- Michaela (10/5): - Nettes, sehr persönliches kleines Hotel. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend. Habe mich rundum wohl gefühlt.
- Ashley (8/5): - Everything was great, except people should be warned there are no doors to the bathrooms
- Mushaukwa (10/5): -
- massimiliano (6/5): - Staff is really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. There are some aspects we did not like, in particular: 1) no sound proof between rooms, 2) no door to the bathroom/shower, not even to the toilet, not even glass door nor curtains, 3) no air conditioning in the room, so temperature depends on the weather, when we came it was very cold.
- erwin (9/5): - Zeer vriendelijk personeel.
- Marilize (6/5): Pleasant -
- Christelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tatenda (7/5): Private, quiet and serene environment. - The hotel is located in a convenient location close to many amenities such as shops and restaurants. The environment is quiet and serene enabling relax and rest from the hustle and bustle of the city. Secure parking for those looking to explore while using Swakopmund as a base. Breakfast was okay but could with a bit of more variety. Having stayed at the hotel for 6 nights, eating the same breakfast everyday became quite bland. Can you please include side tables and light switches so one doesn't need to walk to go turn off the lights and also be able to charge phones etc.
- Hermann (10/5): - .
- Svetlana (3/5): Poor -
- Waburger (7/5): Good - friendly staff. Rooms clean. Good quality Firm bed. Got clean towels every day. Location is peaceful Rooms small. Looks bigger in adds
There are no plugs at bed. Rooms and facilities are very basic.
Parking is tight squeeze
Breakfast is early. Last call 8:30
Rooms have no ventilation by opening windows. You sacrificed privacy
- Jeremia (9/5): Superb -
- Katrina (5/5): Passable - Place was clean and in a good location Small room. It can be cheaper and needs a Little aesthetics upgrade.
- Jjkiara (7/5): Good - the location is okay and the staff was okay but nothing outstanding to remark there is a lot to improve in this hotel, the price paid for this hotel is absolutely not worth it. the rooms are okay but there is no door for the bathroom (i do not care if it was an architect choice as you always answer previous reviews concerning this matter) I am talking about privacy and practicability of the room. not putting a door to separate the bathroom from the room is simply stupid. the breakfast can be better
- Kyle (9/5): Superb -
- Helda (9/5): Great for a peaceful relaxing vacation. - Very clean, heated pool, great location, great wifi. The staff doesn’t seem very knowledgeable about the facilities of the Hotel.
I tried to get into the Hotel to wait at reception for my check in time and I wasn’t allowed at first, only after much persistence they let me in.
- Dambe (5/5): Passable - The Garden The bathroom, the room, the ambience wasn't worth the money charged. The place is overpriced.
- Lelokwane (8/5): Very good - The location is good. The rooms are clean and the kids loved the heated pool a lot. First of all, I had a terrible experience as I was told I booked for 3 people instead of 5. This was a miscommunication that the hotel charges per person and not per room which was not clear on their booking page. The situation was made worse by the owner who was very rude and made insinuations that I intentionally booked for 3 and brought 5 people. I had to pay extra for 2 people in the 3 rooms I had booked.
The rooms have no air-conditioning which is surprising in a very hot climate like that of Swakopmund. A very small TV in rooms. Boutique is really over selling the place as it is not a Boutique.
- Jon (7/5): Good - The in toilets not having a door is bad when sharing, at least put a curtain..
- Iyior (1/5): Give access to the main building always, and treat your staff better. - The staff were great although appeared very uneasy as if they were really stressed and a result the place was clean The facilities are really poor, there was a power outage while there and no emergency contact number provided for guests. The main building were the lobby is, is shut at 8pm which means you only have room access which is very disappointing considering the amount paid. Plus the lobby area reopens at 7am which means you cannot do any meaningful laptop work before this time. There is also no lunch or dinner served in the restaurant.
The lady manager does not listen to any feedback so she would probably not listen or consider this valuable one as well
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Muneiwa (3/5): The worst stay ever - Easy to access and it was clean 1. We waited for a very long time for the gate to be opened
2. It was just one guy responsible for everything
3. Pool was closed before we could utilise it
4. The constant knocking in the morning
- Sean (9/5): Superb -
- Janine (4/5): Cute hotel with helpful staff but no lunch or dinner available except via delivery. - We liked the staff, the pool and living room area, grounds at the back and the size and comfort of the room. The staff also organised a great massage for us in our room the next day before our flight which we both really appreciated. Liked the honesty bar by the pool. We didn't like the entrance because dragging the bags up and down was awkward. The lack of restaurant and being able to order snacks to the pool area. I think If I had understood there was no food available on the property I would not have booked as we had a very long 4-5 hour drive there. The staff were very helpful and you can order food from an app however the food took ages to arrive, was soggy and substandard when delivered. Overall it was more expensive than Olive grove guesthouse but with no restaurant. Our balcony was lovely but had no seating so I sat on the floor when out there. Overall I feel like the place has a lot of potential but it is missing something.
- Joagh (8/5): Beautiful property and I love it. - The host were super friendly and I love the design of th place The entrance of the vehicle was a bit challenging, too narrow.
- Liezl (5/5): Amazing staff but electrical problems really made it uncomfortable - Beautiful and neatly designed. The fact that when I returned from Dinner with Zero power on my room. I could not work as the lights were not working in my room. Phoned all the contact numbers of the accommodation with nobody on the other end. At 1:00 in the morning the lights came on which woke me up.
- Schutze (9/5): It was relaxing. Staff was great. Heated Pool is fantastic. . - Very modern and clean. It feels a bit cold. Needs a carpet or two for a nicer ambiance.
- Robyn (10/5): Enjoyable stay in Swakopmund. - Fantastic breakfast, beautiful garden, heated pool, sunny lounge / diningroom, great service.
- Pieter-jan (10/5): Perfect stay - Very clean. All new. Nice beds. Very helpful en friendly staff. Heated pool Maybe a toilet brush in the bathroom would be a good idea
- Robert (7/5): Good - The heated pool was excellent. Close to surfing and secure parking. Hosts very friendly A curtain or door onthe bathroom would be useful.
- Cele (9/5): Superb -
- Khataza (8/5): Very good -
- Nisha (5/5): Passable - The room and its space. No door to the bathroom
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matsi (7/5): Good -
- Patrick (9/5): Good value for money - The staff made the place good. Clean, heated pool and breakfast was more than enough!
- Martine (8/5): Very good -
- P.g.h. (3/5): This offer is completely misleading; photos of rooms that cannot be rented. The description untrue - The photos and description are pure lies.
The description states that the gourmet restaurant is available for orders even outside of meal times.
In reality, the gourmet restaurant is the kitchen for the breakfast buffet - gourmet food is not offered, not served at all.
There is no menu.
The photos of the room are from a newly furnished family room, all other bedrooms look completely different - incomparably worse.
The site manager has no decision-making power, the hotel manager is only available for 4 hours a day (was responding to our concern after 24 hours), after which he turns off his phone.
The owner, whom I was able to reach, felt responsible for nothing.
The site manager pointed out that there was a change of ownership three years ago and since then the restaurant has not been in operation.
Overall, nothing matches what is being offered there.
- Harish (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (9/5): Lovely stay. Nice rooms. Excellent staff. - Amazing staff. Brendal and Vincent - thank you! Lovely place. Beautifully maintained. Heated pool infront of our rooms was a huge bonus in chilly Swakopmund! Breakfast was good. Having to ask for extra toilet rolls. Not having a toilet brush when a family member got the runs.
- Richard (9/5): Superb - The room was comfortable and quiet and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very attentive and the owners were great to chat with, particularly about Namibia. There is secure off-street parking and a heated pool in the garden, more like a spa. Good value for money and I would return again.
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional - What a fantastic place to stay! The rooms were great, a lovely heated pool area, guarded off road parking, and the breakfast was delicious! Absolutely nothing
- Seeletso (9/5): Superb -
- Talent (9/5): Nice and pleasant - It was clean, quiet and cosy. It had a heated pool which was super cool Breakfast ended very early
- Van (8/5): Very good -
- Petronella (8/5): Very good -
- Nadine (9/5): Superb - Lovely swimming pool and place to relax, comfortable bed, exceptional breakfast
- Kindben (9/5): Superb -
- Nomathamsanqa (3/5): It was bad. - Nothing It is not what I saw on pictures.
We have not yer received the REFUND SHE OFFERED TO US, which she deducted the agency fee from.
No privacy, no plug next to bed, the room was very small it was, no door in the shower/ the bathroom, No wardrobe for me to pack my clothes it’s just a small shoe shelf in the same room.
The owner offered us our refund without us saying anything to her ( just based on the fact that we told one of the waiters that we were not happy) we were hoping to get a better room even if it’s at a higher prices but she just said she will refund bcz she heads we are not happy and we agreed without saying anything and looked for another place, which we found Bay View the best stay ever)
Very very small…
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jo (7/5): A good, very clean B&B rather than a boutique hotel - Hot swimming pool is a big bonus in cloudy, cool Swakopmund. The indoor communal area is somewhat sterile and is closed after 8/8.30pm, so doesn’t work well as a relaxing lounge
- Leonard (7/5): Good -
- Laura (8/5): Very good - Friendly staff
Nice rooms Nothing
- Kundai (8/5): Abundant Generosity - There is much to say about the sophisticated quaint stay at the Giardino Boutique Hotel - the heated pool, the upper (humongous room with the view of the dunes) or the big big breakfast but ultimately experience at this accommodation can be summarised simply as "abundant generosity".
Beginning from the numerous emails going back and forth with Roswitha (the owner) providing much needed information & support for my visit to Namibia, to being welcomed by the most cheerfully astute staff who continued giving me guidance on the best stops to see & eat as well as linking me to good transport services - a punctual driver named Titus, to being granted the permission to experience two rooms on the property - their generosity set the tone of just how lovely, calming & fulfilling the solo Namibia bday trip was.
I left with so much gratefulness in my heart - a gratitude that only the owner, staff & atmosphere had taught me over my 3 nights stay. There was nothing not to like. I will say if you're looking to stay at a big, glam & luxurious place then perhaps this won't meet your requirements but if you want a place that's cozy & cool - feels like a smaller home then absolutely go to the Giardino Boutique Hotel.
- Renier (10/5): Was so impressed with the kind staff. We were treated with so much kindness. Me and my son enjoyed staying there. The pl - Rooms are nice and the staff was very friendly No microwave in room and different breakfast options
- Heidi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Qing (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (9/5): Truly a "boutique" hotel in a quiet neighbourhood of Swakopmund - This is really a boutique hotel: personalized, tasteful, nicely decorated. Rooms are not too big, but comfortable: good-quality beds, good shower. A bit unusual that there is no door between the bedroom and the bathroom/toilet. The hotel is situated in a quiet neighbourhood. Swakopmund's temperatures are not really hot, even not in the afternoon, so the fact that the swimming pool is heated to above 30°C makes it really pleasant. The staff is very friendly and helpful in all possible ways, from assisting to parking the car, to booking a restaurant in the evening. Breakfast is outstanding: try the French toast and the Micky Mouse-pancakes !! There is no restaurant in the hotel, and no restaurant nearby. The closest places to eat are about 15' walk. The staff is very good to give dinner suggestions and to assist with booking a table or making reservations for a taxi.
- Linda (10/5): - Beautiful hotel. Very high standard of service and rooms very good. Comfortable and clean. Even had a fridge which unusual in Namibia.Lovely garden with heated pool. Staff are great.Breakfast the best we had in Namibia. About a mile walk into town on quiet road.
Recommend Fish Deli for eating.
- Roger (10/5): - no extra comments
- Benjamin (10/5): - Fabulous staff and lovely pool
- Sibolla (8/5): Very good -
- Bhavna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alistair (10/5): Great place to stay in Swakopmund, very modern, clean & safe. - Very friendly staff, very modern and clean.
- Johan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Great shower
Lovely staff (Phillip) and great breakfast!!
Appreciated the heater in the room
Hot pool Nothing! Great break from camping
- Pierre (9/5): Superb -
- Nessy (8/5): Very good -
- Mabafokeng (7/5): Generally good but there's area for improvement - Friendly staff 1st day water was cold. Water only brought on 1st day. No lights by bedside.
- Thivers (7/5): Great place in Swakop - The rooms are large, and the garden with the pool is relaxing. Best compliments to the staff, who took care of our delayed luggage which arrived a day before we did. The breakfast is lovely, and the on-site parking is behind a locked gate, even if the passage from the road to the parking lot is rather tight. It did fit out 4X4 pickup, with an ok margin, but still. The rooms are in a building made of stone and cold in winter. The bathroom has no door, which might be off-putting to some. The hotel is not far from restaurants and malls, but when the night falls, you might want to drive there anyway.
- Simon (10/5): Welcomed with exceptionally warm hospitality, a very comfortable bed, lovely breakfast & very quiet! - Giardino's is about 5 blocks from the main city centre, but it's very easy to get around, and the owner / staff provide independent access through a locking auto gate at any time of the day or night which was really good. The breakfast is very filling, complete with a full bowl of fruit salad, and really good coffee! There is also a heated pool in the garden area. Overall, we can truly recommend this boutique hotel. There is truly nothing that we didn't like since all standards from upkeep to room quality are kept very high, and the owner & staff go out of their way to make sure that each guest really feels "at home" during one's stay.
- Jasmeet (10/5): Exceptional - The service was great from start until end . Secure parking inside and amazing garden
- Romain (6/5): Great staff, but a few things could be improved - Staff was really helpful
Well located in Swakopmund No main heater which is needed in Winter. No possibility to use both the heater and the kettle in our room at the same time. No separation door between the bedroom and the bathroom
- Heimstadt (9/5): Superb -
- Zena (9/5): Luxurious, Clean, Comfortable Accommodation - Breakfast was delicious.
Accommodation was very clean, neat and had a luxurious feel.
The hosts provided bubble bath and shower gel.
Great lighting and there was a fridge in the room.
We had a comfortable stay.
There was secure gated parking Toilet area not sealed from bedroom.
Hot water ran out quickly.
- Stavros (10/5): Exceptional - Best stay we had in Namibia!
And Vincent was the best also!
- Alexandra (9/5): Superb - Very nice hotel with very good service. Safe parking . Warmed swimming pool . Breakfast was delicious .
- Mtabeni (10/5): Memorable - Relaxed, quiet, clean and comfortable. The hospitality was exceptional. I had scheduled engagements early mornings and could not make breakfast, the staff went out of the way to ensure I had packed breakfast ready every morning.
Visited during a cold from, the heated pool was such a respite… Nothing here
- Bongani (9/5): Exceptional service overall and well worth every penny spent! - The property is clean, well maintained and the staff is friendly and professional. It is also quiet, which is great for relaxing. I enjoyed swimming in a heated pool. I recommend the hotel highly. I wish they can offer dinner in addition to the wonderful breakfast.
- Rebecca (1/5): privacy issues and condescending staff - nothing you can see through the ‘frosted’ glass of the bathroom that is directly on the hallway. this is a privacy issue. after refusing to stay there, the hotel refused to give me a full refund and then had the audacity to make me pay the commission they pay to Booking.com. the manager had contacted me directly and was rude and abrupt and was more concerned about me leaving a poor review than offering his assistance and good customer service. Booking.com have attempted to be in touch with the hotel to get me the agreed refund however almost 4 weeks later and they are still ignoring. i have attached a photo below of what you can see from the hallway into the bathroom. note they didn’t have curtains or blinds so you have no way of hiding this. also no body wash and no welcome drink was provided. hostel vibes charging 4 star prices.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Janine (9/5): relaxing in Swakopmund - we had a huge room with view of the sand dunes! the bed was big and comfy. the room was bright with a lot of windows.
for breakfast you have a nice choice. we loved the french toast. the staff is nice and very helpful. parking is safe in the yard. we had a fridge, complementary coffee in the room and you can order wine bottles or cocktails at the bar . we came to Swakopmund to relax! so we did! also staff and owners helped with restaurant tipps and directions to the north of Namibia!
- Reinette (10/5): Delightful little hotel with excellent breakfast - This is a delightful hotel with comfortable rooms and wonderful breakfast. Very friendly staff and very quiet area nothing
- Huon (10/5): Very relaxing place to stay in Swakopmund - Very relaxing place to stay in Swakopmund. The heated pool is amazing and after swimming in some very cold ones during this trip, this was the very best we encountered. The staff is friendly and they bring cold drinks to the pool. The room we had was very spacious, beautifully decorated and came with a large bathroom. Parking on-site was secure and although the entryway was narrow - it did fit our double cab pickup with rooftop tents.
- Choxy (9/5): Superb -
- Erna (5/5): Facility is clean, felt very uncomfortable as they kept knocking on my door. was aksed when im checking out before check - Its clean and the breakfast. Handling of a guest that booked via booking. com. I didn’t like the rushed experience. From checking in to checking out. Was asked when am i checking out.
- Mwaleh (10/5): Exceptional -
