All of the check in and communication was clear and easy to follow. Taxi suggestions and brochures in the house gave us plenty of options to stay busy! Thanks for a great stay!
• Katherine (10/5): - I had a beautiful view for the sunrise. The property met my goal of being convenient to Nantucket town so I could sightsee the Whale Museum and all the shops and dining. I never needed to interact with the staff because it was already taken care. The whole space was extremely clean and compared to my cousins who stayed at other inns, quiet. I didn't hear any of my neighbors in the Inn or any street noise.
• Everett (10/5): - This is the perfect location for exploring Nantucket and the downtown area you can walk to virtually everything took me five minutes to get off the ferry to the house . The manager was very present at the property and very communicative sharing restaurant recommendations and just very helpful with stories about the filming downtown of the Elin Hildebrand movie . Very nice kitchen area with French bistro chairs, a nice gathering place for the guests. A warm inviting place to stay .

• C (10/5): - Walking distance from the ferry. We stayed one night in the off season. King size bed was comfortable. Shower and tub were in the room. Breakfast was continental. The banana bread and coffee were good. They definitely had a variety of breakfast options. We ate at Brotherhood of Thieves and Surfside. Dinner at Brotherhood was fantastic and also the live music upstairs, all within walking distance. Gayle has the best home made cookies too!

• Vanessa (4/5): - I don't like the way Gail, the innkeeper, worded out to me by phone this week. I had a reservation for Friday (one night). She used words like "You always choose the least expensive room", "you could not have stayed in a deluxe room", "you cannot knock at others doors", "I will go later on at the inn to check if all the guests are in the right room". My thoughts while I heard those words "Who this lady thinks she is to talk to a guest like that?", "knocking at the doors?!!! What?!!!". I could not believe it what I heard. Really! I told her on the phone that she could never ever address her assumptions to a guest like she had done to me. So disrespectful. I had called them to ask what the room number was, exactly, since there was no room number info on my husband's reservation. They had said to me over the phone that my husband could use the room no.1,the one right next to the front door. Certainly, there was a misunderstanding on their end. There is no excuse to get a phone call from the inn and hear rude words like those ones I heard. So disrespectful. No more Periwinkle Inn on Nantucket.

• Emilee (10/5): - This was the sweetest and most convenient b&b!!! I booked in a hurry with little expectations and was absolutely ecstatic when I arrived to such a cozy, cute homey stay. There were fresh baked cookies and jazz playing every night! It was also so private, I never even encountered another person the whole stay even though I know they were fully booked. You check in and out on your own and come and go as you please. It was truly so lovely, I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you!!!!

Some rooms share a bathroom so just read the description before booking. Ours was private which was nice. Great location to shops/ restaurants

The only room available for my family of three when I booked was a room with a shared bathroom. Do not be deterred by this! The toilet and shower are in separate rooms, and we never crossed paths with the other room's occupants, with whom we were to share, and the place was booked solid! It was evident the shared bathrooms and common areas were cleaned frequently. We would certainly stay here again! Thank you, Periwinkle Inn!

And the bathroom door to share did not lock so i felt that anyone off the street could be hiding or attack a guest, me in particular. • Michael (8/5): October is a great month to visit - Our stay at the Periwinkle was very good! It was a very short walk to many of the best restaurants and night life nantucket has to offer. It’s early checkin and storage space for guests who are leaving the island later than checkout time was also extremely accommodating. I definitely appreciated that we could still stop in after checkout to use the guest restroom if need be. Our room was comfortable and secure, the private in-room bathroom was relieving! AC and Heat both worked! The room was clean, thanks to the wonderful Sonja! I definitely appreciated the offerings left out in the mornings for light fare and drink. Uber and taxi were both easily able to be found making any trip out of town to the outskirts of the island easy and affordable. I do recommend that you take a look at restaurants and activities prior to booking your trip to the periwinkle, as the off season for nantucket can leave many restaurants and businesses closed and shuttered for the winter months and the periwinkle Cancelation policy favors the periwinkle greater than it does the customer. Likely for this reason.
• JEANNE (6/5): - This is a nice New England house, but two issues make it a less than ideal stay. First, they have crammed a king-sized bed with mattresses so tall that I had to launch myself and dive onto the bed (I'm 5'4") in a room barely larger than the bed. The bathroom, likewise, is so tight that someone of large girth would have trouble fitting. The most disappointing aspect, though, was the vending-machine style packaged pastries offered for breakfast fare. There were grocery-store English muffins and raisin bread, too. Unripe apples, but the bananas and clementines were fine. Plenty of juices, but in tiny plastic throwaway bottles. Also Keurig cups, but at least offered china mugs and dishes and real flatware. Overall, for the sky-high price, I expected better.

The host was very friendly and helpful, the room pleasing, the garden lovely for enjoying breakfast or star gazing in the evening.

The innkeeper had very helpful recommendations even before our arrival. She accommodated our early arrival and late departure without difficulties. I appreciated that there were always hot and cold beverages as well as snacks available.
• Christina (2/5): - This is what is listed in the booking information/rules on Expedia: "Total maximum number of guests per room/unit is 3. Maximum number of adults per room/unit is 3. The fee for extra adults is $60.00 per person." The room has three single twin beds. Sounds like you are allowed three people to the triple room, and if you want an extra (i.e., 4th person), you are charged $60. Apparently not, you are charged an extra $60 for a third guest and will be charged without prior consent and only notified after your credit card flags the strange manual transaction as fraud. We checked in on the first night with three guests (all of us checking in together with three women and three suitcases clearly in our party) into our room which is advertised as a triple. There was no mention of additional fees. The very next morning Gail followed one of us and cornered her as she was getting out of the shower in her robe and towel harassing her about an extra fee because we had three people in the triple room, and she wasn't able to charge the credit card on file (and rightfully so!) It was all very strange and uncomfortable, almost as if she waited until the next morning to make it so that we were stuck with the Periwinkle before sneaking in a $60 fee. The rest of the stay was very uncomfortable for something that is not a material amount of money, it was the way the situation was handled and the lack of transparency from the start.

• Catherine (6/5): I know the Is. in the summer is $$, but c’mon - Shortly after my booking I received an email with room description. I thought “oh, how nice, it’s even better than the description on the website!” Fast forward 3 months- and the description I was sent was NOT the room I was given. I contacted admin. She accidentally sent the wrong description- I get it, everyone makes mistakes. HOWEVER, she had the opportunity to make it right by upgrading me to a room that better fit the description she sent (there was vacancy), but she did not. I received a description of a room with three twin beds. I invited a friend, thank goodness she could not make it. The “room” had 1 twin bed; I am 4’11” and could not stand up Except for the doorway. It is a eave with a chimney running through it. The AC is so loud (probably because the room is so tiny and it is 3’ from your head) I slept with cotton in my ears and covers over my head, and I was still jolted awake when it kicked in. The shared bathroom is barely large enough to turn around in (and again, I’m petite); has a faucet that is too large for the tiny basin, so when you wash your hands or face, half the water ends up on you or the floor. The space ended up being $250/ night with fees. The admin made it a point to let me know how good a deal I was getting and suggested I should have contacted her when I received the detailed room description- how was I suppose to know she made a mistake?? Honestly, I don’t even know how the town permitted the space.
