Guest Reviews
- Alison (9/5): - We had a nice villa, spacious and good shower. Very good breakfast, also nice evening buffet. Set in lovely gardens, lots of nature. Good swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff, we were able to book our safaris with them. They also booked our bus back to Kathmandu and gave us a lift to the bus station. Not to far to walk to the river where there are some local cafes. Free cultural show one of the evenings. Disappointing to see that the hotel offered elephant rides.
- Lydia (9/5): 👍 - Das Zimmer war sehr schön, und das Personal sehr nett und freundlich. Beim Essen gibt es Luft nach oben.

- Jacine (9/5): Lovely place, would stay again - Fabulous property and the staff were incredible. Especially Image in the restaurant!!!! He acted as our own personal concierge for everything and anything we needed just out of his own free will Cleanliness was an issue. When I checked into my room I put on the sandals provided in the room and within minutes I’m walking around the room, I realized they were covered in mud and grass and had left a mess all throughout the floors. Chunks of dried mud and grass literally everywhere. No one cleaned my room the second day either so it was like that for days. And when the cleaners did finally come to clean my room, they left it half clean. I came back and there was literally no sheets on the bed. I had to go to the front desk and ask them to send someone to bring pillows and sheets and a blanket. They also took the dirty towels off the floor and just rolled them up and put them back on the shelves in the bathroom instead of replacing them clean ones. this was only a minor inconvenience though and did not take away from my overall experience.
- Jake (9/5): - Lovely place in nature and even upgraded my room The buffet could have Nepalese food as Nepalese food is great . But still nice
- Jinata (10/5): One of the Best Stays in Nepal - A perfect blend of culture and comfort - I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Green Mansions Jungle Resort. The ambience of the room was unmistakably serene, with a flow that felt deeply connected to nature. The space was sparkling clean, and I loved how the furniture and decorations incorporated local materials, telling a story that ties the room back to the roots of the town. It felt authentic, personal, and so peaceful.
Waking up here was a dream - surrounded by the sounds of chirping birds and the calm of the jungle, it truly felt like being in a little pocket of paradise. The grounds are beautifully maintained, filled with lush plants that make the entire resort feel vibrant and alive. What’s interesting is they also seem to offer some respite from the heat, and the temperature difference is immediately noticeable the moment you step onto the grounds.
The staff were exceptionally hospitable - always warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Their service really made the stay feel special. The food was also immaculate - delicious, fresh, and of a very high standard, perfectly suited for international guests while retaining local charm.
Another highlight was the jungle safari organized directly through the hotel. Their guides are outstanding - especially Dev, who was not only deeply knowledgeable about every animal we encountered but also had an incredible ability to spot them instantly. Thanks to him, I witnessed rare and magical moments, including seeing at least three rhinos, one of which was swimming and blowing bubbles in the water. Compared to other safari jeeps I noticed along the way, the Green Mansions experience felt truly elevated - operating at another level entirely.
Green Mansions Jungle Resort uniquely stands out for its perfect balance of modern comfort and cultural immersion. A peaceful haven offering authenticity, exceptional service, and unforgettable experiences - it’s easily one of the best stays I’ve had in Nepal. I’d return in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. - Sandeep (9/5): - It is a beautiful, peaceful sanctuary with stunning, lush gardens that create a true oasis feeling. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
The food quality is good, but the menu feels a bit dated and could use more variety. Improving the service speed and updating the options would make this a perfect 10/10 stay!
- Asra (9/5): Great peaceful stay - Staff was great and very helpful. The bed was nice and soft and the grounds were well-kept. Food service in the restaurant is sometimes not the fastest.
- Carla (10/5): - A truly beautiful place, designed with so much love and attention to detail. The property is located a bit outside the center, which makes it incredibly peaceful, perfect for relaxing. Everything you need is right there.
The staff was extremely attentive and supported us with anything we needed. We booked three excursions directly through the hotel, and everything was organized perfectly.
If we come back, we would do it exactly the same way again. Highly recommended!
- Lj (10/5): Excellent, highly recommended - Location, the pool and the beautiful rooms
- Naindra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Peaceful stay that won’t disappoint! - My stay in Green Mansions was just phenomenal.
I constantly forgot I was in Chitwan as the hotel was so much more gorgeous and beautifully designed than many 5 star hotels in the big cities. You could tell the owner has great taste and aesthetics.
Every detail in the room and the yard were well thought of: Nice little plants in room; Plenty of trees around room to provide privacy, and a gorgeous view when you look up from the hammock.
The activities were amazing too. Kanan is a wonderful guide. In the jeep safari, our driver navigated the trip slowly and gave us enough time whenever we spotted animals. While all other jeeps rushed through the forest, we were the only group to spot a beautiful scene of a deer family walking across a grassland, as probably some of them only come out before sunset when it gets cooler.
No need to worry about food too. The restaurant provides excellent food. The friendly and professional service from Cwin was much appreciated.
Definitely the place to stay whenever you are in Chitwan.
- Josh (10/5): Awesome resort with great staff - Amazing resort right on the edge of the national park, the staff were fantastic, organising our activities and taking care of us during our stay, they even upgraded our room for us :)
- Stefanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wilma (9/5): Superb -
- Shrestha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kusang (10/5): Was wonderfully surprised by the hospitality and the resort itself. Definitely will return. - The rooms were very comfortable and beautifully designed. Loved the bath tub!! The pool area was very relaxing. The gardens were also nicely kept and manicured. All the staff were friendly and the food was exceptional.
- Hari (9/5): Best place for staying on that area - It’s clean room with all there you needed on your star. Honestly can’t think of any reason
- Jeremie (9/5): Amazing resort in Chitwan - Amazing property in Chitwan, got lucky to be in a newly built bungalow and it has all you can expect. Impeccably clean, comfortable and quiet.
All staff were very kind, helpful and provided excellent service.
Location is good for safari as it’s at 5mn drive from the park, and we got lucky to see Rhinos just next to the resort. Tuktuks are available to go around. Some guest groups were a bit loud one evening (yelling and playing phone music around…) not much to do about it, however it impacts the overall peacefulness.
- Amit (9/5): Superb -
- randy (10/5): - Great place. So peaceful.
- Juna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jeevan (7/5): Good -
- Leonie (9/5): Superb - Very clean and comfortable. Excellent bathroom. Breakfast buffet was superb. The packed breakfast for the safari was really not up to standard and needs to be better or (ideally) the restaurant could open a little earlier to suit those going on safaris earlier than the hotel run safari tours.
- Ian (6/5): Nice hotel. Staff need training on wildlife management. - Everything about our stay was good. We enjoyed the grounds, our room was great, the staff were friendly, and we were able to walk down to the local river area to go bird watching. The reason for the 3 star review rather than a 4 or 5 star is due to one incident. We walked past the kitchen area one day to witness a member of staff killing a snake with a long stick. This upset us greatly and was totally unnecessary. The hotel calls itself a jungle resort yet kills wildlife that strays in. The snake they killed was a non-venomous, harmless, Common Bronzeback. I am sure that many of the guests would have enjoyed seeing the snake. A few of the staff should be trained to identify snakes and how to safely move any potentially dangerous ones from the resort to the neighbouring forest.
- Isabel (9/5): We will come back, our kids and we loved it. - Beautiful and calm location near the forest. Super helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful peaceful garden. Clean rooms with a cute little terrace, convenient for families.
- Rochak (6/5): Pleasant -
- Evelyne (10/5): Super friendly staff - nice rooms and lovely pool and garden -
- Bharti (10/5): Wonderful stay - Wonderful property. Humble and very supportive staff . They didn't entertain call and food after 9.30 pm .
- Shrestha (8/5): Very good -
- Dr.vipul (8/5): Good stay. - Good ambience.
Very supportive staff.
Neat and clean rooms and washrooms.
They made good arrangements for the Jungle safari. There is direct entry of washrooms in the dining area, without any effective barrier.
We were allotted a dining table, just besides the washroom..
Breakfast menu could have been better, especially for Indians, vegetarians.
- Isolde (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clifton (8/5): Relaxed stay - Relaxed feeling and spacious layout.
Safari was a good experience.
- Nur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Konstantinos (9/5): Superb - The room was clean and spacious. Staff was very helpful to organize our activities and all the facilities were great. Location is nice by the jungle, but far from the town center.
- Medha (8/5): Comfortable but food and alcohol is expensive for what they offer - Friendly staff The food
- Caroline (8/5): Very good -
- Geetansh (8/5): good stay but very expensive compare to other resorts and hotels nearby - Location was very good and staff was kind and humble It was way to expensive for the jungle safari package as compared to other options. Since it was in extreme remote location it was not an option to search for other package or options.
- Folke (10/5): Perfect place! - Just beautiful - exactly what you need after a trip on most horrible roads. Highly recommended! Zero
- Ellie (10/5): Exceptional - Green Mansions Jungle Resort is peaceful and quiet. Such a nice place to visit away from the hustle and bustle in Kathmandu. The staff were so kind and helpful. I could not recommend it highly enough. I went on a reserved jungle safari with Dev and he was amazing. He answered all my questions and took some incredible photographs for me through his binoculars. If you go on the jungle safari ask for Dev, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you again to everyone at the resort. I’ve had an experience I shall never forget. I can’t think of anything that I didn’t like :)
- Eva (9/5): nice relaxed atmosphere with possibility to chill at the pool - nice resort, with a small but chill pool area with bar. food was good, the room was nice as well. staff was very friendly. the light in the room was a bit dim.
at this level we would expect good "real" coffee ..
- Marcel (9/5): Superb -
- Hsiang (10/5): Exceptional - A very comfortable hotel, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite far from the main street, not within walking distance, but you can find all your basic needs here and have a great place to relax.
- Sudhir (9/5): Superb -
- Sabin (10/5): Excellent stay- must stay - Great breakfast, friendly staffs, quite location, value for money,
- Yuna (8/5): Lovely! - We loved the swimmingpool and area. The staff was also very sweet. The western food was not it, the local food was much better.
- Asad (7/5): Good -
- Annie (9/5): A good pick for lodge style Chitwan accomodation - The beautuful leafy grounds. Great restaurant. The spacious lodge style rooms. Pool bar. Staff. It was summer when we stayed so it was very hot (<40 degrees celcius). In our experience the rooms would benefit from small bar fridge to keep water and other drinks cold. The pool needed more shade over the pool side seating. And the pool itself while a great size, features and setting, was very hot in the water. Keeping the waterfall going through the day if extreme heat would keep the temp down.. bit far out of town but that did add to the safari camp atmosphere for us.
- Debanjan (8/5): Nice comfortable stay in the vicinity of the National Park but check for better safari options - The property is a sprawling one set in one corner of Sauraha - just at the periphery of the Buffer zone of the Chitwan National Park. The rooms / cottages and spacious and clean. The in-house restaurant has limited options but overall the food is tasty. They also arrange for safaris and other recreational activities. Given the price range, the restaurant has extremely limited food options. This should improve. If you do not have your own conveyance, it is also not possible to venture out in the village and have food outside.
Secondly, it is quite strange that in Nepal the government charges for the safari jeep, camera fees and the the likes are not at all transparent. This gives the properties to charge exorbitant amounts to the guests willing to visit the core areas of Chitwan. Moreover, the guides provided by the hotel (at least the gentleman who was our guide) prefer to say nothing about the jungle and its flora and fauna though they seem to be quite knowledgeable. The drivers who take you inside the core areas are really unprofessional to say the least. Our driver ruined our safari nicely by stopping whenever and wherever he wanted to urinate in the shrubs and not stopping when he was supposed to so that we could observe the animals. The point is, this is supposedly beyond the control of the hotel but once we completed our safari the hotel staff never ever asked a single question about our safari experience. However they were extremely eager about recommending various safari options to us till we booked one. Summing up, this signifies that the hotel staff are aware about the quality of safari drivers and the guides and they simply do not try to improve anything. And am making this statement after having taken more than 100+ safari rides over the years in various national parks and jungles of India. Never ever had this sort of an issue earlier.
- Deepy (10/5): Exceptional - A Very comfortable stay. Excellent location with a great ambience . Reception staffs were very helpful and welcomed us with a refreshing drink. Rooms were decent, quiet and comfortable. A lovely swimming pool to cool down in the warm weather of chitwan. I Would definitely come back in the near future .
- Malgorzata (9/5): Superb - Beautiful garden and nice swimming pool. The food is quite average.
- Igor (10/5): Exceptional - Green Mansions Jungle Resort stands as a remarkable testament to the perfect blend of nature and comfort. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the resort provided an immersive experience. The accommodations were impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The staff were exemplary in their service.
- Nichols (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aashish (9/5): Superb -
- Nina (8/5): Very good - clean, nice personal free basic drinkable water would be very nice
- Medhavi (9/5): Superb -
- Chanxyz (9/5): Superb -
- Krishna (9/5): Good - Green environment. Great food options. Value for money. Restaurant closes for breakfast at 9am! and dinner at 9pm! Would be ideal to extend another hour since people are here on holiday.
- Xara (10/5): Exceptional - The resort is beautiful. The staff is very helpful and polite. The rooms are very comfortablle and clean. The food was amazing ( breakfast, snacks and dinner). They also let us check out late because our trip was delayed. They were very understanding with our needs. Thank you for our lovely staying. They should have more coffee options.
- Sukhbinder (4/5): Room for improvement - Nice resort, reasonable rate. Billing is still done manually, double charges on paid bills upon checking out. Breakfast is not satisfying. Stale pastries served for breakfast.
- Shelley (8/5): Very good - Excellent service, fantastic attentive staff, beautiful grounds and garden. The rooms are luxurious and the beds are so comfortable - best night sleep in Nepal. The pool was clean and a great way to relax and cool down. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Only powder coffee was available, and it was terrible. Please invest in a proper coffee machine. We took a tuk tuk into Sauraha for dinner and good coffee.
- Sabrina (9/5): We'e come again - The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is located a bit outside of town so it's a perfect area to relax, very quiet. The pool is great for the hot weather. We stayed for two nights and had one night the buffet and one night we ordered a la carte. The price for the buffet is a bit high but overall the food was really good.
We'd come again! We did a jeep safari with the hotel. Overall it was okay but our guide could have provided a bit more information around the park, flora and fauna. Also, the entrance fee for the park is overpriced. Officially it's 2000 Ruppee but they charged 25USD. Still all in all a nice experience.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Amazing stay close to the Jungle and Elephant breeding center - beautiful location close to the Jungle. the staff was very attentive and helpful. I would definitely recommend going there. we enjoyed our stay, the jungle safari and the food. we would definitely come again. maybe you could skip the canoeing if you did the safari before. but loved the safari saw rhinos, beers, deers, monkeys, elephant, peacocks, crocodile and so much more :) -
- Liv (8/5): Very good - The compound is very nice and green. Feels cosy and taken care of. There are constant noise. City noise but also from aircon etc. The hotel turns of the noisy machines at night which is great.
- Cocoli410 (10/5): Exceptional - more than Excellent, Everything is perfect !!!
- Wakde (3/5): Please Don’t book a big No No - property looks like 5* . They maintain cleanliness and looks. But don’t be fooled it’s just Looks Looks Looks
n food is good No phones is room . No network in rooms . No hot water.
it was pathetic. every time we had to go out of room in search of staff then they would start hot water. plus no one sits at reception after 9 pm. The fittings are jaguar but no hot water. charging points in room were loose the charger was falling if we requested for 3 pin plug they said they do not have it when we complained to senior then she said they have it why was it not provided. when we booked for elephant breeding through hotel they did not provide even a vehicle initially wanted us to go on walking tour. Finally when we said we will book some outside tour then they gave us hotel jeep . They try to provide you with discounts at end of your stay so you do not end up writing a honest review. But will like to mention my experience. Extremely pathetic
- Vikrant (7/5): it was just ok.. - Nothing much… property photos on site are misleading.. no value for money
- Suzn (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anish (9/5): Superb -
- Ibrahim (5/5): Average hotel, nice garden - beautiful garden, and helpful staffs activities’ prices are almost double compared to outside tour shops (nearby). food is almost of one type. no diversity and of food and taste is average.
- Igor (7/5): Good -
- Yi (10/5): Very pleasant stay at an oasis just out of town with everything you will need within the resort. - beautiful grounds that were well kept. Very good service. Pool was a nice place to unwind at and for a dip in the middle of the day when it got warm. Slightly out of town (apprx 40min walk into Sauraha) but a nice walk to go there bypassing local farms and along the river. It is also a short tuk tuk ride and staff were very helpful in ordering them for us.
- Javiruz (8/5): Very good - the entire resort and the location
- Rory (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roman (10/5): Romantic place - well-groomed territory, friendly and helpful staff, romantic atmosphere several times I saw insects in the room, but it's not scary
- Nicola (10/5): beautiful, peaceful , interesting ( nature ) and thoroughly enjoyable - The location is amazing . The rooms are spacious and clean , the gardens are tranquil and a lovely area to
sit and just be in the moment . it’s on the edge of the forest and the rapti river . staff could not have been more helpful and informative. the shower head was provably too big for the water pressure but I’m not complaining . minor detail
- Erik (9/5): Superb - Very friendly staff and great accomendation. Rooms very clean and comfortable! Location is bit far from the city center. Taxi might be required when tempratures are hot
- Tim (9/5): Good accomodation! - Good accomodation to start activities in Chitwan.
- Alex (5/5): Passable - nice garden foreigner rates activities are definitely to expensive
food are not really tasty

- Ilina (9/5): Superb -
- Oscar (10/5): Comfortable, clean, easy, lots of animals - All of the staff were amazing and all.spoke good english. The restaurant staff were very helpful and very careful and eager to cater for us (we are vegans). If we ever go back, we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Cocktails weren't great, and the restaurant could have had some music
