Guest Reviews
- Gary (10/5): - Reasonably priced., friendly staff
- Theresa (10/5): - We had a great weekend. The motel was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. They made us feel right at home with our puppy. Nice picnic area out back. The diner has very affordable food and large portions. Highly reccommend!
- Heather (10/5): Stay was as expected. - The stay was good, it was clean though older and the drawers had other peoples old things in them. The beds were super hard which did make the night rough, but a neighbor said his bed was great and soft, so its just one of those things about travel, be prepared, bring your own padding etc. You get what you pay for and this was fine for a night, we felt safe, staff was nice. There's a restaurant in the parking lot that isn't connected to the motel, but the food was terrible and expensive, Do yourself a favor and run to get fast food...seriously.
- Luella (10/5): - Even one was very nice
- Katherine (10/5): - The staff was super helpful and kind, the room was clean, I didn’t have any complaints and the price was reasonable
- Marilyn (10/5): - It was very good. Everyone at the hotel was very good and the room was very clean.
- Donna (10/5): - Very friendly staff, nice comfortable bed and room was clean.😊
- michelle (10/5): - The lady at front desk was so sweet and understanding. She was also very polite and even tried helping us. I recommend that quiet comfy place anytime
- Ken (10/5): - My third time here.
- daniel (10/5): - Great quiet place to relax.
- richard (6/5): - Stayed here a few years now for the annual Annie Smiles jeep run. This time some of the rooms weren't clean or had out of date air conditioner that wasn't working properly
- Virginia (8/5): - Had an extremely strong overwhelming pine cleaner smell.
- chantal (10/5): - Would stay at again, delicious diner attached, cozy, friendly down home vibe with clean rooms and friendly staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): Has been beter - We have stayed here a couple of times and enjoyed it however this time the room was not that clean. There were rings in the toilet and you could see dirt/dust on the floor of the bathroom. When we went out our 2nd day there, we put the sign out to please clean the room but it was never cleaned.
- Eric (10/5): - Very nice staff, clean rooms and amazing price for the night
- Verified traveler (10/5): West Virginia two nite weekend. - Very nice king bed, with fridge, microwave, ice, TV, coffee maker and cold AC.
- Rhonda (10/5): - The staff that checked us in when we got there was super friendly and went above and beyond to kake sure we had what we needed and the staff that cjecked us out was super friendly as well
- Verified traveler (10/5): Definitely give it a shot - I quite enjoyed my stay at the Mountaineer Inn. I went for Lurch Fest (in August), a fest for Philippi native Ted Cassidy, tv’s original Lurch. I had read reviews before I booked so know that there have been some upgrades. They DO have key cards and shampoo in the bathrooms. I saw some new flooring so it looks like renovations have started. The Philippi Inn is the nearby restaurant and it’s right next door although it’s not far into town. I had to go this trip without a car, which I knew would be difficult. Don’t plan on taking an Uber anywhere. They are few and far between unless you schedule them in advance, which seems to be the key. But Debbie, the manager of the hotel and her husband gave me a ride into town one day when I couldn’t get a car! I did not expect that. All in all, the main thing is that the Mountaineer Inn is a good value.
- ARTHUR (8/5): - great

- Ann (10/5): Very Good Value - The affirdabilty of this lodging is most appreciated! Thank you !
- Agata (6/5): - Hotel was fine, we have some issues with cleanliness but it was solved quickly. Nice people.
- Stonie (10/5): - Good
- Charles R (2/5): - Dirty. Dead roaches in the hall when we got there and still there when we left
- dianne (10/5): - Front desk were super helpful!
- Dan (8/5): - The room was big, bed comfortable, and bathroom was nice size. The only two issues I would say and they are not big is the toilet seat was flimsy moved when you sat on it, and there was a pop can in ice bucket from previous occupant. The employees were nice, and we would stay again.
- Taia (8/5): - No bugs, beds a bit old but clean sheets and floors 👍 AC a little noisy but cooled the room quickly and stayed cold! Friendly and helpful staff.. left my charger in the room and one lady came out with it while we loaded the car! Would stay there again !
- Joseph (10/5): - End a place to rest your head, perfect..
- Malinda (10/5): - Staff was friendly for checkin and allowed us to park our vehicle so it can be kept an eye on, she understood our reasoning as to why. Very quiet place, room is clean if I were to need to stay out this way again id choose to stay here.

- Nani (10/5): - We love it here, staff is so friendly
- Jin (6/5): - It was okay
- Dean (10/5): - Very nice for the price
- James (8/5): - The desk clerk at check in was friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom looked clean upon entry. Plenty of towels. Heat/AC was just right. However, there were long human hairs on the bottom sheets of both beds. The caulking around the outside bottom of the tub had what appeared to be mold in it. And the refrigerator made an annoying humming sound.
- Lila (10/5): Highly Recommend - For an inexpensive hotel it was a very pleasant surprise. Nothing fancy but everything was clean and homey. The staff was extremely friendly too. We had a great experience with the Mountaineer Inn.
- Joanna (10/5): - Property was clean safe a very nice people !! Stay every year twice a year .
- Jacy (10/5): - Very clean room and the staff was very friendly and efficient. Rooms are a little out dated but that made no difference to me . Parking lot was also able to accommodate truck and trailer.
- Charles (6/5): - Light next to bed wouldn't work. Noisy. Rock hard bed.
- James (6/5): - This was not a good value for the money. No cart is provided for carrying luggage. There was missing tile in the bathroom. The breakfast was terrible. There was no phone service available.
- stephen (8/5): - Rooms were clean, fairly basic set up but for the price a decent value.
- Bonnie (10/5): - The people where so friendly. Love the clean rooms
- Debbie (8/5): - The price was great 😃!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel and area - Bedroom portion was nice and bed was comfy. However, the bathroom floor still had hair and felt sticky and slimy in places. Sink top had hairs as well. Overall nice hotel to stay for the Forest Festival at a decent price.
- Sheri (8/5): Nice no frills place - Nice basic place. If you are looking for frills, this isn't the place for you. Good location. Bed very comfy, and quiet.
- Cheryl (10/5): Countryside Cozy Inn - The woman at the check in counter was absolutely wonderful. She did well beyond her job duties.
- Michael (10/5): - Not a 5 star resort, but this place was great! My only complaint is the bed was uncomfortable, but I'm a guy who loves my bed at home. Very happy we chose Mountaineer Inn.
- Kimberly (8/5): - Just passing through but a glad we chose this gem- Simple, friendly, very clean, comfy bed, quiet, smelled good, perfect place for a traveler to find!
- Jarret (10/5): - Clean. The lady Wendy that was working was excellent. Told me about the area, where to get food and everything, very friendly. Great stay and cheap. Can't beat it
- Donald (8/5): - A good spot to stay for the night while on the road. Restaurant nearby
- Stacy (10/5): - Great little motel off the beaten path.
- Matthew (10/5): - Nice convenient hotel just outside of Phillipi
- Anna (8/5): - While trying to sleep the building makes lots of noises along with the AC unit, the mini fridge, lots of odd ticking noises. Other than that can’t really complain for the price.

- April (10/5): - Absolutely loved this Inn. Lots of local color and heart. I didn't get to go to the companion diner across the parking lot, but it looked delightful and was always full. Will definitely go back to this Inn in future trips to the area!
- GREG (8/5): - Always people hanging out at front even at 1-2 in the morning
- Bethany (10/5): Excellent - This is an awesome motel. The lady at the front was very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, and there was an ice machine (which I needed). The location is beautiful. The town also has a historic covered bridge which is a must-see site. If I ever come through here again, I will do my best to stay at this motel again.
- Vittie (10/5): - Great hotel. Very clean and the staff is wonderful. Comfortable beds.
- John (10/5): Great little gem - Room was clean ..bathroom was clean .. bed was comfortable it was more firm than plush but I slept great. Friendly staff and a plus to have the Diner next door.

- Shelby (10/5): - Very nice room , quiet , clean and provided a good might sleep
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good place! - Everything was great except the linens smelled like stink bugs. They were clean but just had an odor. A good place and a bargain compared to other hotels/motels. Added bonus of a good restaurant right next door. Highly recommend.
- April (10/5): - MY DAUGHTER IS DOING HER INTERNSHIP IN PHILIPPI, AND INSTEAD OF HER DRIVING BACK IN FORTH EVERY DAY WE DECIDED FOR HER TO STAY AT A HOTEL. THIS IS HER FIRST TIME STAYING IN A HOTEL BY HERSELF. WHEN WE ARRIVED THE STAFF WAS WONDERFUL TO HER AND TOLD HER FOR ANY REASON IF SHE NEEDED SOMETHING JUST ASK. VERY FRIENDLY PEOPLE.
