We were very angry that Booking.com added$40+ to our bill because they added a 3rd party to our bill. In fact we were furious. We don't know how if we'll ever use booking again.

The motel is dated, but it's very clean, kept up and comfortable and perfect for needs. I'm from a small farming community so I found the motel and town charming. Laura recommended LaBota for dinner which served delicious, authentic Mexican dishes. We will be traveling this way again next year and would definitely book another stay.

Valerie (9/5): Recommend laying your head down here - Very clean and quiet! The beds are comfortable and they give you extra pillows and towels. It seems welcoming to fisherman too. Not to much to do or eat around the area but if you just need a place to rest your head this is a good place.

She made us feel right at home and would have put us in a room with a king size bed if one had been available when we arrived, which wasn't an option when we booked. Space was a bit tight in the room we stayed in (we booked a room with two, XL double beds) but we would happily stay here again.

Everything I asked for I got. Really appreciated the staffs helpfulness. Definitely made the stay more enjoyable. Shower head was low. AC was load. Pillow seemed too thick for me, but was not a real issue.

James (10/5): Exactly what I’m looking for in a good place to stay! - What a great place to stay! If you’re looking for a motel in the Leon Ia area this is a good place and a great value. The room was spotless, sheets and towels were all clean and the bed was comfortable. Carpet was clean, everything worked as it should and the owner was very nice. I stayed two nights and will stay again next time I’m in the area. The free breakfast was simple and self serve with enough choices for most to find something they like. It might not be new and fancy although you can tell the owner takes pride in their property! Oh, and the dog’s name is Chestnut, she is a very shy sweet little girl 🤗

Had a good night's sleep and was ready to finish the next leg of our trip. Met Laura in the morning. She is just a very pleasant person. Great little mom and pop place. We will be back when we are traveling near here again. Although the bed was comfortable. I just wish it was a bit bigger.

Klay (3/5): Not as advertised on booking. Not worth it. - It was a bed to sleep in. The free breakfast was a bowl of crackers. Coffee wasn't made,no ice available (just a bag of ice for $4) water was available for purchase. The bathroom was small, dirty and the shower floor was severely sloped which caused us to slip and almost fall. (My ankle was sore for days). We couldn't set the temperature of the room (the thermostat was locked up) The shower head had very poor pressure.

Debra (10/5): The best Little River Inn - The little river in the motel is off the highway, quiet, nice. Grocery store right next door. Laura is wonderful. She has snacks, coffee, tea and a little oven to bake pizzas or toast your sandwiches. The rooms are so clean. The rooms come with toiletries , nice size towels, a thermostat, a microwave,and a fridge with a small freezer. The beds are so comfy. Plenty of light and shelves on each side of the bed for stuff or your phone, plenty of outlets and they don't use plastic keys they have actual keys. Great place to stay. I have reached out to my family and friends telling them about this wonderful little tucked in hide away. There is nothing at all I didn't like about this place.

I messaged to ask about a late night check in and the owner called me to explain the process and set everything up for me! Everything was exactly as explained when I arrived. I was only there for a few hours but the room had everything I needed.

Didn’t find her but the woman who checked me in was very nice. When I was at dinner I called her and asked her to tell the guys with the big truck and fishing boat to move it from in front of my room door. Was done by the time I got back. The motel is in a pretty setting.

The room was small and bathroom was even smaller. The worst part was the SPIDERS! There was such a huge gap under the window air conditioner that anything could have come in! Soo many wolf spiders that we left before sunrise. Couldn’t leave any faster! Will not go back.

Very friendly manager and the atmosphere of the place was calm and nice overall. It's an older traditional motel that remains in good condition. Quality better than the price would suggest; other travelers rated it well and I understand why after staying there. Breakfast had little of interest.

John (10/5): Just like coming home - It was nice having a cozy home to ourselves. Located close to a family reunion in Lamoni. Very convenient and well equipped little house. We’ll definitely keep it mind for next year.

Cynthia (7/5): Simple and cozy, like grandma’s house. - Loved the convenience to the car for a late night arrival and early morning departure. Most furnishings and fixtures were quite old, but clean. Staff was kind and helpful. There were small insects in the room—tiny moths and other tiny flyers. The up side is that I put away my phone and went to sleep because they were attracted to the light!!😉

Sheryl (8/5): - Great place to stay when you want to hit the road early. Check out is at 10 am, a full hour earlier than most places. In the morning I got a knock on my door. “Checkout is at 10 am. It is now 9:48.” So in case you don’t look at your watch or the clock, you will still be on the road by 10 am. Like finding an extra hour in my day!
