- Felicity (8/5): Very good - Location Bathroom was quite cold but this is a minor issues. Also we could hear loud bass type music until quite loud that was a bit annoying.
- Shi (9/5): Superb -
- Diana (10/5): Across the road from the smiggins resort so really handy. - Very clean and staff were extremely friendly. Rooms are on the smaller side
- Qingqing (10/5): Perfect loaction for family with kids - Perfect location N/A
- Matt (8/5): Very good -
- Liang (10/5): Will back again definitely - Good location and lovely staff. Breakfast is fresh good.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fabian (8/5): Great location for skiing, need some facilities in the room. - Location and the staff The room was very small. Bathroom was freezing cold. If the room had been bigger a kettle and a fridge would have been nice.
- Lance (10/5): We have no hesitation in returning to Lodge 21 or recommending to others. - The Food was excellent, the other guest were friendly and they also enjoyed the Lodge as well. Our hosts where welcoming, engaging, professional which made they stay at Lodge 21 a pleasure. Snow unfortunately was lacking, which at this time of the year is understandable. The unseasonably warm weather up and down the eastern seaboard contribute to servally closures at other Ski fields, so we were pretty luck at Perisher.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Susan (8/5): Really enjoyed mixing with guests, communal areas and comfortable beds. All of the staff excellent. - All breakfasts were extremely tasty Rooms are a little cramped
- Jason (9/5): Superb -
- Bronte (8/5): Great location & friendly staff - The staff were lovely! & the location was great for what I needed. my room was very loud but that is not by fault of the staff/ not really fixable, I was just next to the stairs so I heard everyone coming/ leaving. I also felt like it was fairly expensive but maybe thats because I booked last minute
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (9/5): Good food , comfy beds and pillows . Great location and good value - Staff were amazing, went above and beyond , beds comfy extra pillows great. The food also was super tasty. this place would be amazing if a but more insulation /sound proofing in walls and storage /shelving in bathrooms or making beds higher or with shelving so can store bags luggage under . From guests who stayed there in the past to now commented on how well the new owners did to turn it around. Some old bad reviews don’t bother reading it doesn’t apply anymore, the new owners make this a wonderful family friendly place to stay and a comfy good feed. . Right across from smiggins ski lifts and Perisher bus stop . great location. Can’t beat value for money. Thanks Katrina Could hear too much of neighbors and in hallway. Not enough storage space in room.
- Douglas (8/5): - Great position, great hospitality, great food. Bed was comfortable. Heating good. Quiet room. Not a five star building, however was adequate.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The dinner provided were beautiful.
- James (6/5): - warm room
hot shower
lifts at the door
pub does decent food
- Abigail (10/5): - Staff were lovely and very welcoming! Very close to slopes and bus station where a free bus service is offered to Perisher! Would recommended to anyone!!! Excellent services and thanks to all staff working there!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great food staff are very friendly definitely will be going back there every year
- Aimee (8/5): Great Homestyle on the Snow Accommodation - We've stayed at Lodge 21 once before so we knew what to expect. The rooms are small but comfy, well heated, great hot water system for a nice hot shower after a long day, and good value for what you're paying for being at Smiggins. All you need to do is wake up, get dressed in your gear and walk across the road to the bus stop to get the bus up to Perisher - no need to take your car out and try to find a spot at the resort.
We love that breakfast and dinner is included, only thing being that if you've had a long day and don't want to socialise, this probably isn't the place for you - everyone is pretty friendly. Three course dinner (and hot breakfast) included in the price is great.
The staff are out of this world lovely - they're super chill, will aim to help you out any way they can (Thanks Scotty!) and know their way around the resort, so can give good recommendations.
- Karenne (2/5): Backpackers yes. Families No!!!! - I’m usually okay with anything. But not this. The manager was drunk. Not a little, but totally off his face. All staff were drinking red wine. We did not even check in, as the manager did not get our booking. Our suitcases did not get out of the car.
The room was like a backpackers hostel. In the 80s. The front doors did not lock, and there were no locks on the bedroom doors.
My reviews almost everywhere are positive, even if it wasn’t great. This was not worth one positive comment.
I will not recommend this place to anyone. For the cost.... anywhere else is much more worth it.
- john (6/5): - Great location in Smiggins with on site parking. Very friendly staff.
- charles (6/5): close to ski - snow around building and close ski and play area , good for provide breakfast and dinner. more fun this building , free coffee and tea
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best hotel for kids meeting other kids - Lodge 21 rocks.
I had a wonderful experience at lodge 21. All the staff and Mcgregor were more than helpful with any of my child and my questions and needs. The food was fantastic. I highly recommend this place. Best stay for a single father and 5 yr old daughter.
- Ophelia (8/5): Best On Snow Hospitality! - My partner and I stayed at Lodge 21 last weekend on Saturday 16th September.
Location was perfect we were right on the snow at Smiggin Holes!
We had a twin room which was small but cozy and the beds were very comfortable. The room was clean but minimal.
They have a drying room for your wet gear after a day in the snow.
Friends of ours have been staying at Lodge 21 for 5 years now and stay because of the friendly hospitality and staff! For the price, it was pretty good!
The team at Lodge 21 - Macgregor, Matt and Rosie (the chef) are awesome! We had such a great, warm welcome.
The dinner served at 6:30pm was out of this world! We had a 3 course meal, soup for starters, pork ribs for main and a sticky date pudding with icecream for dessert. I would stay here again just for the food and the staff! Food was included in the rate!
Buffet breakfast was also fantastic and included in the rate.
I would definitely stay here again. Hopefully we are lucky enough to stay on the snow again next year :)

- Verified traveler (6/5): Location, Food ++++ - Very close to the slope, room is cosy & warm, nice breakfast & dinner, meet a group of friendly people.
The price is ok, condition really needs to be improved though.
- Ned (8/5): - Very nice people. Excellent food. So convenient. Family friendly.
- kath (6/5): Smiggins stopover - Close to bus stop to Perisher. The food was good. Rooms okay. Parking limited.
- Wally (10/5): - Very nice food and set up of the Lodge. Need to provide a larger communal fridge, or put a small bar fridge in the room. All facilities were clean and tidy and the location is great.
- Maree (8/5): Fantastic location, excellent meals - Unreal location
Lovely warm common areas with cozy gas and slow combustion fires
Excellent meals for both breakfast and dinner
Small rooms, good bathroom, but very unpleasant rickety bunks
- Susie (6/5): Great location and food but not much else. - I would like to start with what we loved about Lodge 21. The location is perfect, next door to hire place and across the road from lifts and bus to Perisher. The beds were comfortable (although there was no barrier on the very high top bunk my son slept in. The food was home cooked and really nice. I guess the downside is what comes with the price as it is cheaper than many other options on snow. The staff were not friendly and hardly around to be found. The second day we had no hot water and this was dismissed. We ran out of toilet paper and couldn't find anyone to replace it. We had the owners mobile number but didn't want to call it constantly and didn't get a warm or helpful response when we did. Overall we would go back as the price is right for us and the location, bed comfortability and food are an important part of a skiing holiday. PS there is no bar on sight so bring your own if you don't want to pay big prices on snow.
- Haggis (4/5): Disappointed by the the room. - I booked a triple room with mountain view for $400 per night but instead got a double room that was very small - the double bed could barely fir into the actual room itself......,and facing into a building(no mountain view). The bathroom needed repairs as the tap was very loose in the basin. Also found previous guests cut fingernails on the floor. Talk about off putting. Also the aged DVD player did not even work. The carpet smelt of old foot cheese,it was terrible.
On the brighter side - the breakfast was good and the Hotel staff friendly.
- Verified traveler (4/5): No frills on hill accomodations - These Accomodations are all about location. Food was good, particularly dinner. Rooms are dirty, but sheets were clean.
- Verified traveler (4/5): On snow accommodation - There were two good things about this accommodation - location and the food. The room was cold and the ensuite bathroom was like walking into a fridge. There were icicles forming in the bathroom and the floor was like walking in the snow without shoes. The heating in the room did not work and I spoke to people who stayed there regularly who informed me they took their own heater. I was very disappointed by the lack of heat as the weather was windy and cold. If they fix the heating problem it may be ok but the room was small and in desperate need of a makeover.
