• Rózsa (10/5): - Well equipped house in the jungle. Fantastic feeling sleeping above the trees with an open air. Mosqitos were rare and had a good mosqito net. Jungle noise was exciting and the breakfast was delecoius. Staff was very kind. The bed was used so it felt ups and bumps in it. There were no hot water although it was not need it in the hot season. Pidurangala peak is 10-15 minutes walk and you have to pay 1000 rupees as an entrenca fee. The climbing is rough but the wiev is amazing.

• Dorian (9/5): Großartig mit ein paar Minuspunkten - Ein Erlebnis mitten im Dschungel. Es war sehr schön zwei Nächte dort zu verbringen. Das Personal war selten anwesend und man konnte wenig nach Tipps fragen. Lage etwas abgelegen, ein Tuk Tuk zu bekommen ist schwer und man muss bis zur Hauptstraße vorlaufen um eines zu bekommen oder über das Hotel eines holen lassen. Das Areal darf bei Dunkelheit aufgrund der Elefanten nicht mehr bzw. nur unter Erlaubnis (+bereits organisierten Transport) verlassen werden). Verständlich da es im Februar in der Nähe eines tödlichen Zwischenfall in der Nähe hab. Frühstück ist eher simpel gehalten und kein Highlight. Das Wohnen im Dschungel war cool, wir sahen aber trotzdem wenig bis keine Tiere.

• Yo Kooij (8/5): - Wat een leuke ervaring en prachtige plek. Heel lief personeel en heerlijk eten. Ik heb wat dingen in de recensies gelezen zoals een slotje die mist bij de koelkast en hondjes die gezellig op bed komen liggen. Deze zaken zijn allemaal opgepakt, er is nu een traphekje en een slot met sleuteltje voor de koelkast. Andere dingen over de natuur en buiten geluiden kan je niet serieus nemen, dat begrijp je zelf toch wel als je een open boomhut uitkiest lijkt mij. Alles wat je nodig had was aanwezig tot aan warm water en een ruime badkamer. Het bed was heel erg hard, dat was voor ons het enige minpuntje.

• Florence (7/5): Séjour correct proche de Pidurangula - Personnel au top et emplacement parfait pour Pidurangula (10 min à pied) et pas loin d’un petit centre avec des resto et bars (10 min en tuk tuk) La cabane dans les arbres est vraiment spartiate sans protection contre la lumière et le bruit alors que la route est juste derrière. Eau chaude très limitée et lit moyennement confortable. Le prof nous semble donc élevé pour les prestations même si l’expérience reste chouette.

• Kate (6/5): Cool experience but not relaxing - Great location for Lion and Pidurangala Rock. Very close to elephant safari too! Unique experience to camp outside with wildlife. The monkeys came into our hut and were friendly and funny. The sounds of nature at night are beautiful! 3 wild dogs sleep on the stairs of the hut we stayed in (what must be most nights!). They were growling at us when we arrived at night and proceeded to scrape the gate at the top of our stairs at the end of our bed and whimper all night to try get into our room which made us scared to use the toilet. They barked on our stairs for over an hour straight at 1am and we kept waking up thinking that they had gotten through the gate at the end of our bed.

• Felber (3/5): Nie wieder - Nichts Wir wurden überbucjt und mussten in einem anderen camp schlafen. Es war mitten im dschungel fast wie ein schmugglercamp. Die betten dirt waren eiegntöich holzpritschen und wir haben mehr oder weniger im freien geschlafen. Am schlimmsten sogar das mosikonetz hatte riesige löcher.

• Samantha (8/5): Magical jungle experience - excellent!! - Such a unique experience! A true jungle getaway. We loved our stay, and didn’t want to leave. The staff were fantastic - extremely attentive, friendly, and fantastic guides on all the tours/activities we did. Nothing we didn’t like - just small things to be aware of like low water pressure in shower and took a while to get warm, and sharing the spade with spider / insect friends. But that’s all part of the experience!

Location was great if you want to immerse in the jungle and be close to hiking Pidurangula at sunrise, need to grab a tuk tuk into town. Loris watching tour was not our favourite

Après le petit déjeuner, le lieu est quasiment désert jusqu’au dîner ; pas de possibilité de demander un thé, café, autre… pas d’équipement non plus dans les cottages… le prix est largement surévalué en regard des prestations fournies!

It’s a truly unique place, and hearing the sounds of the surrounding jungle right from your bed is an extraordinary experience. The location is very close to Pidurangala, and there’s a nice vegetarian restaurant nearby, also run by Back of Beyond, where we enjoyed dinner. The place is quite basic, and I found the price a bit high for what’s offered. I would also appreciate more lockable storage space inside the tree house. There was no hot water in the shower.

• Ton (5/5): Niet aan te raden - Zowel het ontbijt als de maaltijd waren prima. Eenvoudig maar echt smakelijk. En het belangrijkste: met een glimlach geserveerd Wij vonden het verblijf een grote teleurstelling. We hadden het van tevoren kunnen weten. Slechte reactie op berichten, dubbelboeking die men pas doorhad toen we vroegen of de lokatie, met oog op de orkaan, normaal geopend was. Moeilijk ontvangst aangezien men direct liet weten dat de populaire nachtwandeling al volgeboekt was. De tree house was wel zoals omschreven maar zeer basic. De omgeving is donker, vochtig en deprimerend. Het ziet er ook allemaal een beetje amateuristisch uit. Drankjes , behalve water, zijn niet verkrijgbaar. Weinig gezelligheid. Wakker worden in de jungle gaat vanzelf. Op de nabij gelegen weg rijdt vanaf 4.45 u een constante stroom van tuktuks naar de Pidurangala. Afrekenen kan met cc. Wel 3% extra graag. Reden onbekend. Onze grootste afknapper was de nachtwandeling. Men was dan wel bereid om later op de avond een tweede wandeling te bieden. Geen introductie. Geen enkele vorm van uitleg. De naturalist was erg met zijn telefoon bezig. Binnen 1 uur weer terug. Wel $60 afrekenen.

• Helena (2/5): Teleurstellend - We hadden geboekt voor 5 personen en hier zelfs nog contact over gehad. Op plaats van bestemming bleken er echter maar 4 plekken waardoor we met zijn 3en in een twee persoons bed moesten. Daarnaast waren de bedden behoorlijk klam en hadden we de hele nacht een extra loge, namelijk een zwerfhond. Daarnaast hadden we voor het avond eten voor onze jongste wat brood besteld, dit is echter nooit aangekomen. We hadden voor twee nachten geboekt maar zijn er maar één gebleven, wel werd er voor twee nachten berekend

• yovanna (8/5): Gave ervaring midden in de jungle! - Locatie midden in de jungle en op loopafstand van Pidurangala Rock dat was echt ideaal. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Ruime badkamer en een leuk zit gedeelte bij je boomhut. Het eten zowel ontbijt als diner is erg lekker!! Doe hier zeker ook zo een nachtwandeling. Wat wij ook extra mooi vonden was dat een deel van de opbrengsten naar het behouden van de natuur gaat. Wij hadden wel graag iets meer opbergruimte gehad bijv. Apart nog een kast/kist in de badkamer omdat je alles moet wegstoppen vanwege de dieren/apen. Verder was het erg jammer dat de fietsen kapot waren. Wij vonden het een hele gave ervaring maar ga hier wel alleen heen als je ook bewust bent dat je echt in een jungle slaapt dus je kan niet zomaar spullen laten liggen, insecten etc. Haha

• Justine (8/5): Overall, we really enjoyed the accommodation and the kindness of the staff, but the activity and laundry prices definite - We really loved the atmosphere of the place — the setting is beautiful and peaceful. Our chalet was super comfortable, very clean, and the hot water worked perfectly. The staff were also extremely kind and welcoming, which made our stay even more pleasant. However, we were quite disappointed by the pricing of the activities offered through the property, which were significantly overpriced compared to what we found elsewhere in Sri Lanka. I also had laundry done for 15 USD, and only later realized that in most places it is either free or costs around 2 USD. As this was my first laundry service of the trip, I had no comparison point at the time, but in hindsight it felt very overpriced.

• Katelyn (7/5): Relaxing nature stay in a great location - Great location, really cool experience in nature to disconnect, staff very friendly and warm, relaxing and quiet surroundings The property was really nice, however the only thing I would improve is to provide warm water for showers and upgrade the bed mattress as it wasn’t very comfortable for the price. The breakfast was very basic for the price, the chef did a good job and was very nice but the management should make more effort with breakfast for over 100 USD per night.

The mosquito net worked really well at night and we made sure to put all our belongings away due to the monkeys! The staff were very attentive and organised tuk tuks when needed. The location is a close walk to Pidurangala Rock and has local restaurants nearby. I would highly recommend for a few nights on your holiday in Sri Lanka!

Jungle is alive with enormous numer of animals which they wake us up several times during night. Poor breakfast.

Er is een goede klamboe aanwezig waardoor je niet bang hoeft te zijn dat deze dieren bij je in bed kruipen. Verder is de boomhut van alle gemakken voorzien, maar wees wel voorbereid op een koude douche 😉 het personeel is ontzettend lief en aardig en hebben heerlijk gegeten bij het restaurant.

• Pierre (10/5): A magical stay in the heart of the jungle - An absolutely amazing stay! A beautiful experience sleeping in the middle of the jungle while still being so close to Sigiriya and Lion’s Rock. As soon as we arrived, a wild monkey was hanging around our room – a perfect reminder that we were truly surrounded by nature! 😄 The food was delicious, authentic, and full of local flavors. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and always smiling. They also offer many activities, including safaris — we joined one and saw an incredible number of elephants roaming freely in the wild. A peaceful, unique, and unforgettable experience that we 100% recommend!

• Sander (8/5): Geweldige ervaring op en top locatie - Geweldig zo een boomhut midden in de natuur, een orkest aan dieren geluiden in de nacht, echt een beleving. Personeel super vriendelijk en hulpvaardig. Pidurangula rock een paar honderd meter verderop, zeker de moeite om zonsopgang te bewonderen. Waren nagenoeg de enige die verbleven op de locatie, het was nog voorseizoen, en prijstechnisch ligt het wel iets te hoog naar onze mening
• Daisy (8/5): Unieke beleving midden in de natuur - Unieke locatie in de jungle, op wandelafstand van Pidurangala rock. Prachtige boomhut, heel vriendelijk personeel. Regelen alles voor je. Lekker eten, warme douche (buiten). Mooie safari gedaan, de dag zelf nog geregeld. Je moet je spullen altijd opbergen of de apen zijn er mee weg :) je leeft buiten dus denk insecten. Maar dat kan je verwachten op zo’n locatie.
• Danique (8/5): Erg mooi maar een nacht was lang genoeg om het te ervaren - De locatie, in de boomhut was een mooie ervaring Een nacht was lang genoeg ivm dat we alles moesten opbergen omdat anders de apen er mee van door gingen. Dus qua comfort was het niet ideaal

• Gaby (8/5): Super mooie Lokatie en uniek om een keer mee te maken - Hele bijzondere accommodatie. Middenin de natuur. En toch behagelijk. Ik vond alles geweldig. Maar het is inderdaad wel dat je tegen een beestje hier en daar moet kunnen. Maar dat ligt niet aan hygiëne ; heeft ermee te maken dat je middenin de jungle verblijft.

• Riet (10/5): Schitterend! - Een heerlijke ervaring op een toplocatie. Supertof overnachten in een boomhut. Heel rustgevend om 'buiten' te slapen met alle geluiden van de jungle op de achtergrond. De werknemers zijn heel erg vriendelijk, zorgen voor lekker ontbijt, vruchtensapjes en diner en ook leuke babbels. Een aanrader!
• Christel (9/5): Unieke ervaring in boomhut - In Back of Beyond ben je omgeven door natuur en rust. De boomhut is ruim en schoon en geeft een unieke ervaring. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De prijzen liggen wat hoger, maar we vonden het helemaal waard. De safari in Kaudulla national park was fantastisch. Het ligt super dicht bij Pidurangala Rock, maar wel een stuk verder van de hoofdstraat. Hiervoor moet je een tuktuk nemen. Het avondeten was prima en wat beperkt.
• Axel Sting (2/5): - Le lieu est magnifique mais chambre très minimalist pas super propre toile d araignée dans l armoir pas insecte mort tache de sang sur mon drap le lit avais l ai propre appart la tache. Il faut savoir que c est dans la nature meme que j ai pris un chambre fermé plein de chenille geante rampe les murs pas de leur faute bien sur mais énorme de bête bizzard rentre dans la chambre. Moi j ai aimé le lieu mais c'est pas fais pour ceux qui on peur des bête j aime la nature mais j aime avoir un chambre cosy propre ai sans toute de bestiol bizzard. Staff sans plus sympa mais asser frois on dirais qu ils on la fleme de tout petit dejeuner vraimant rudimantaire. Ne vous fier pas au image Tout
• Mignon (9/5): Mooi verblijf en een super bijzondere ervaring! - Het slapen in een boomhut is echt een hele bijzondere ervaring. In de nacht hoor je allemaal dieren & geluiden, wat spannend is, maar wel heel erg uniek.

• Allie (6/5): - The accommodations and food were expensive for what you got. Beds were old. It’s understandable that open air treehouses in the jungle cannot be spotless, but hotel management could still do a better job.

• Sanne (10/5): Super leuke locatie met enorm vriendelijke mensen! - De locatie is prachtig! (Wel handig eigen TUKTUK te hebben om naar restaurantjes etc te gaan). mensen zijn enorm vriendelijke, ontbijt is mega veel en alle opties voor tours etc zijn te regelen bij de mensen van het hotel. -
