- Simon (10/5): Very good value. - I was greeted with a friendly welcome, the bar was decent, but quiet, and I slept well. The bar shut at 9pm, but I was advised to where I could go for a decent pint.

- Amie (8/5): - It was fine for our 2 night stay, could do with a little clean as lots of cobwebs around the room / bathroom, unsure how the heating worked but when we arrived it was lovely and warm in the room then each day only the bathroom radiator seemed to be on, wasn't a massive issue but did get a touch chilly sometimes, also a paint within the rooms wouldn't go a miss . However lady on reception was lovely and it was ideal for us, parking was easy and free. Shop next door for any required essentials. Approx 25 min drive into Skegness, apart from minor little things I would stay again.

- John (10/5): Comfortable, friendly and value for money - The windmill doesn't yet have facilities for food but are planning to resume that. This isn't a problem as it's in the very centre of Alford and has at least half a dozen cafes and takeaways within a 2 minute walk or 20 seconds in the case of Evangelenes Patisserie which I recommend. Overall a great stay with great staff. Nothing really.

- Mandy (7/5): A fabulous building with a bed but lacking on cleanliness - The room was lovely and spacious however there was mould on the window frames which couldn’t be opened. There was a terrible musty smell in the bathroom on closer inspection the vinyl on the floor had patches of damp. I lifted part of it up to discover black mould on the wooden floor. I was going to mention this at checkout but there was nobody at reception when we left.

- Martin (7/5): - This hotel does not offer a food service but they do allow you to bring in food from nearby takeaways and they will provide plates and cutlery. You can then eat in their bar/dining area where the hotel bar is in full operation. The staff were helpful and friendly.

- Maureen (8/5): Short stay at The Windmill - We loved our short stay at The Windmill, happily our dog a small cockapoo was welcomed in too. The hotel had a recent refurbishment and it looks great, the room was clean and beautifully decorated with a large family bathroom. The beds were super comfy and plenty of covers, pillows and towels provided. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Allowed us to get a take away for food as the hotel had not set up catering as yet. I would definitely use this hotel again, and would recommend. Just the fat no food could be obtained upon our arrival and as it was a Sunday evening choices were limited. Pizza/ Chinese take away. Sadly we don’t enjoy the take away at all so wouldn’t opt for that again. And would double check if food Is being served or stop earlier for food before arrival. Apart from that nothing negative to say about our short stay and would stay again.

- Philip (6/5): A little disappointed - For the cost I can’t complain to much, very disappointed with the fact that they couldn’t provide any food options, didn’t like the fact that there wasn’t any sort of net curtains so you were either on full display to the public or you had to have the curtains drawn no secondary glazing so when the council workmen started putting up the market stalls @6am that was me awake. The bar had a good choice of drinks at very competitive prices, car parking was good over all it served my purpose for somewhere to sleep and a good chip shop just around the corner and the hotel dinner supply me with a plate and cutlery so I could eat in my room

- donald (8/5): - The Windmill was perfect for its locality near to the relatives we were there to visit. We had a beautiful big room, overlooking the market square. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. The staff were so friendly and helpful. My only negative would be that although it had an overall look of cleanliness, it really needed a deep clean. The linoleum in the bathroom was coming away around the eges of the room and was full of dust. Having said that it wouldnt stop us from staying there again.

- beckett (5/5): Simple accommodation let down by not taking personal safety of visitors seriously - Staff were really friendly and helpful As a solo female traveller the rooms not having locks was very concerning. I had to move the furniture against the door to feel safe. When queried they started it was to meet fire regulations, but as a regular traveler I’ve never stayed in a hotel with no locks. This feels like they had old locks and haven’t bothered replacing with compliant locks. There was no where else to stay at such short notice. Because of this I wouldn’t stay again.
