• Zuzana (10/5): - Hidden away and just steps from Ganga and Ghat! Highly recommend the property!!! The rooftop cafe was closed during our time as it was too hot but rooms are clean and comfy we were able to check in at 9am !!! !How amazing and Suraj ji was a star helped us with bags and organise us transport to station when we were leaving. This guest house is surrounded by small cafes and shops sp u are at right place .They all went extra mile for us 🙌 thank you Maybe just having filtered water available. They had mineral water availabke

• Michael (9/5): - Baba Guest House ist eine saubere und familiär geführte Pension inmitten eines Labyrinths von Altstadtgassen, die ich wohl alleine kaum gefunden hätte. Es empfiehlt sich auf jeden Fall, einen Airport-Pickup über das Hotel zu buchen, ein Mitarbeiter hat mich dann dort abgeholt, wo für das Auto Endstation war. Die restliche Fahrt auf dem Motorrad könnte auch der Beginn eines James Bond-Films gewesen sein! Mein Zimmer war zwar recht klein, aber mit Blick auf den Ganges. Warmwasser und AC funktionierten zuverlässig, das kooperierende kleine Restaurant auf dem Dach ist gut. Man fühlt sich gut aufgehoben, Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Da gerade das Holifest stattfand und die Bewohner natürlich mitgefeiert haben, wurde es recht laut. Mit den aufgestellten Lautsprechern konnte man ein ganzes Stadtviertel beschallen. Aber so ist das Leben einfach - Indian vibrations!

Personal familiar - El personal: llegamos con virus estomacal y nos dieron la habitación de inmediato sin hacer check in ni tener la hora en cuenta, lo mismo ocurrió a la salida, cuando incluso nos acompañaron hasta el lugar donde se cogen los Tuc Tuc. Son un 10 como personas. Sentido del humor y muy amables. La ducha espectacular tanto en la presión como en la temperatura. Todo muy limpio. Ubicación perfecta para visitar los Ghats y la ciudad. El restaurante que hay en la terraza ayuda a completar la experiencia: comida muy rica, muy variada, muy bien de precio, limpio y cómodo. Te hacen el viaje muy facil. Encantados!!!

As instalações são bem simples para o preço cobrado. Não há nenhum isolamento das portas então há sempre barulho vindo da porta. Além disso, no quarto que eu fiquei havia um barulho constante no teto de móveis sendo arrastados, isso ocorria o dia inteiro. Pela avaliação booking achei que fosse melhor.

• Bharat (9/5): Good location 2 mins walk to the Ghaat. - Very helpful and cordial staff. We enjoyed our stay. It is located in narrow alleys, not accessible to car or auto/tuk tuk. We got dropped off at PDR Mall Luxa and we walked for 15mins to the guest house. If you want to go for any sightseeing, expect a 10minute walk to a point where you can get an auto. The place is located right on the Dashashwamedh ghaat. The building is old so don’t expect any luxury.

The location is absolutely ideal — just a few steps from the ghats and the famous temple, right in the heart of Varanasi’s spiritual charm. From the rooftop, you get a breathtaking panoramic view of the Ganges River, especially at sunrise and sunset — it’s an experience that touches the heart. The rooftop restaurant serves delicious food with a peaceful ambiance, making every meal special. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, offering excellent value for money. What makes this place stand out most is the staff — polite, humble, and always ready to help. They were extremely caring and supportive, especially with me and my small child, which made our stay feel like home. Overall, Baba Guest House perfectly blends comfort, hospitality, and tradition. The price is very reasonable for such a beautiful experience. I would definitely love to come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Varanasi!

OK..stay - There was nothing can like in this property, There only one thing this property is nearby ghats We Arrived Varanasi on 5.30 am early morning, We call them nobody answered of us ,even I canvey them 1 day before of our arrivals time., Very small stairs and long also , washrooms door was not proper working positions.

Quiet at night, Rooms basic and quite small but with some toiletries. Manager spoke perfect English and staff helpful. Manager booked taxi to airport for me which went without a hitch. Charged me 5% extra for using credit card. never paid more than 3% elsewhere. Had a meal in the restaurant and got my first case of the runs in over 6 weeks of travel in Sri Lanka and India. Next door room's bathroom was open to my bathroom (for their venting I assume) so you could hear a lot from next (bath) room. Cable TV didn't even work on the free channels- Subscription not paid up. Linen quite stained.

• Trish (9/5): well run guest house in great location. - Lovely friendly guest house in a great location just minutes from the river and ghats. helpful staff. I used their airport pick-up service as I arrived late at night. I was very grateful as vehicles can’t get to where the accom is and not sure I’d have found it on my own! but easy once you have your bearings. I booked a sunrise boat tour through them (in small row boat) which I’d highly recommend. I had only booked an economy room but for my first 4 days they put me in a deluxe room on the upper floor which offered a view of the Ganges which was lovely. there is a lovely cafe on the top floor which does great breakfasts. The economy room I had to move to for final 2 nights, although clean and comfortable with attached bathroom, had no window so no natural light.
• Debashis (9/5): Excellent. - Location, behavior, staff are good. Location is very good. It is just 10-15 steps away from Munshi and Darbhanga ghats. If one does not like the steep stairs of the ghat, then they can easily come here through Bangali Tola. The stairs of the Guest House gave us old-world charm, but not ideal for elderly people as they are steep. But for young people it is good. The inner-hashbolt of the room was not good, I had a feeling that if someone pushes from outside, it will break open. It should improve. Also the inner hashbolt of the toilet was not working.
• Noemi (4/5): Disappointing - Well located in the heart of Varanasi. Excellent rooftop restaurant. Unfortunately the low level of maintenance of the building is evident. Our room was damp and we asked for a new one, they kindly changed it. However, in the new room there was a strong smell in the bathroom. I would highlight the need for improved cleaness as well (dirty bedsheet and bathroom). Additionally, our booked airport drop off arrived half an hour late, causing us to almost miss our flight. Overall I would not recommend this place.

It is quite a long walk to get to the hotel (more than 1km through dirty slippery narrow lanes). Rooms are very very small. For 2 adults & 1 child, it felt like living in a matchbox.. we couldn’t even open our suitcases together.

The location is not very clear. Once ordering an Uber we couldn’t get to the hotel simply because cars and tuktuks can’t reach the location. Would have been nicer if they had told us in advance. Only reachable by walking.

• Ghosh (10/5): Highly recommended for both solo travelers and family - It's a heritage property nested by the side of Ganges in one of the many alleys of Bangalitolla. The people are very helpful, always available to cater to the needs of the guests; the 'Adha Adha Cafe' at the rooftop is a superb place to chill, and their food is also outstanding; the rooms, although not very large, are cosy, comfortable and budget friendly. There are comfortable sitting arrangements throughout the lobby so that the guests can hang out wherever they want. Gopal ji and his wife were very warm and welcoming. They are actually the bridge between the bulk of foreigner backpackers and travelling Indian families - they make both feel at home. This is a recommended place for both solo and group travelers. The property is itself very interesting and elegantly decorated. Mind the stairs, which may be a bit steep for elderly people.

The room we had booked had no AC, and by the time we arrived they offered us to take a look at another one and choose witch one we preferred. The room was clean, shower always hot, bed was comfortable and we had enough space. AC was working perfectly too. The restaurant upstairs is great (what makes breakfast super easy!) and the staff is suuuuper helpful and kind. We had a lot of questions since that was our first time and stop in india and they didn’t hesitate to help us the best way they could. Plus, location is great to explore the city! After looking through a lot of places in Varanasi, Baba Guest House seemed the best, and we are certain that going there will be a great experience for everyone :)! everything was perfectly fine

• Anima (10/5): Baba Guest House - Our best ever stay at Varanasi! - Everything about Baba Guest House was just amazing..😊 It's just 1 minute (walking distance) away from Dashashwamedh Ghat.. and 30 seconds from Darbhanga Ghat.. Room was clean..There was provision for 24X7 hot water and Wifi.. Gopal Jha ji, his wife and other Staff members were courteous and infact at the end of our trip they felt like Family..Ah! such a great hospitality! 🙂 They have an amazing rooftop Cafe called Aadhaa-Aadhaa run by a beautiful Indo-French couple Raju and Emi..Food was top-notch (I would say-The best in Varanasi) and reasonable in terms of price.. There is a beautiful library, games like Chess and Domino that you can enjoy with your Coffee and calming music. Gopal ji and his wife will make you feel like Home with their sheer sense of humour, amazing hospitality, good food and the quality of service they provide in their Guest House.. Visiting Varanasi again for peace, happiness, tranquility and spirituality.. And our stay would be again at Baba Guest House without any doubt.. • Mohan (8/5): Great place and would love to stay here again. - Its a great location considering the Munshi Ghar is just 100m from the hotel. Gopal Ji was very kind and also managed to arrange for food at 11 PM in the night. The rooftop restaurant has good staff and good food. Bathroom was clean and well maintained. Hot water was available 24/7. No windows from my room so no natural light. Room is pretty tight with just a bed and a table. Shower did not work well. Rooms are quite closeby so if you have noisy neighbours that could be a spoiler.
