Zum Abendessen im Orso Bruno einfach und gut und in Arezzo Dank bester Tips unserer Gastgeber ebenfalls.

- August (10/5): - Das Zimmer und das Bad waren sehr gross und liebevoll eingerichtet. Der Gastgeber Giacomo ist sehr nett, hilfsbereit und hat uns sogar geholfen die Koffer nach oben zu tragen. Wir haben uns willkommen gefühlt und gespürt, dass es Giacomo Spass macht, Gäste zu beherbergen. In nachhinein haben wir es bereut, das Frühstück nicht beim ihm eingenommen zu haben.

Une vue exceptionnelle sur la vallée, une propriété au milieu des oliviers, des cyprès majestueux ..vénérable demeure de famille, celle de Giacomo…qui en assure la pérennité..on aime faire partie de cet environnement, au milieu de meubles, objets , photos, livres…qui vous relient à cette histoire familiale..un séjour enchanteur. Nous avons aimé chaque moment de notre séjour…trop court !

The history, passion and kindness from Giacomo really sets this place above all other accommodation options. Breakfast is outstanding and worth indulging in. So much pride taken in the presentation. The sunset views over Tuscany were breathtaking. Giacomo also provided beautifully hand drawn maps of suggested villages to visit; one of the highlights of our trip. I wish I had more time, three nights were not enough. It is simply stunning.

- Edoardo (9/5): I very enjoyable weekend spent in a magical place - Outside of the city on a hill so you can see all the surrounding countryside and arezzo. The host was very welcoming and great to chat too. He prepares breakfast from scratch every morning sourcing locally produced ingredients and goods so everything is always fresh. It is always served in the beutiful ancient halls of the villa overlooking the countryside. The villa is small and cosy with no more than a couple guests everyday so its very quiet and tranquil. I missed the gate entrance a couple times because its not so visible.

- Helen (10/5): Bella is a beautiful place to stay, we highly recommend it. - We were served a delicious breakfast in an elegant dining room, with lovely classical music playing. It was possible to buy a bottle of wine and have an aperitivo in the garden watching the sunset through the cypresses. We slept soundly in our spacious bedroom with entry hall, wardrobes and large bathroom. Car parking was just outside the house and it was a short drive to the carpark just outside the city. Giacomo had helpful suggestions about where to visit in Tuscany and how to access old city. There were several flights of stairs to climb to our room, which were a challenge after a long day of walking around Arezzo!

- Rachel (6/5): Kind and solicitous host offering basic accommodations in an old villa outside Arezzo. - The host is most kind and goes out of his way to satisfy his guests as much as possible. The accommodations are very basic but adequate and offer relatively good value for the modest rates charged. Arezzo is accessible only by car or taxi and if guests are reliant on taxis this can be somewhat expensive as the ride to or from Arezzo will cost between 15 to 20 euros. The villa itself is a very old structure which is a challenge to keep clean.

Everything was spotlessly clean and the coffee was excellent. Giacomo was a wonderful host and even brought a lantern out to the garden one evening while we were sat enjoying the view.

He also gave us much advice about what to do in the area which made for one of the best days we have had in Italy. The property has so much history and is very comfortable to stay in, we had a lovely clean large room with a fantastic comfortable bed. The ensuite is also of a high standard and the towels are luxurious. Make sure you order the breakfast, Giacomo does a great breakfast, we have been travelling around Europe for 3 months and this is the best breakfast we have had so far. We would return to this property if ever back in the area and thank Giacomo for all his help.

The beds were large and very good for people with back problems (like me). The location was excellent. 15 minutes away from Arezzo's center and in the middle of the countryside with wineries and olive trees all around. Very quiet surroundings that allowed for restful sleep. The welcome by the owner and his son was really nice. We spent time chatting about Arezzo and US Universities and old style bruschettas. The breakfast was very pleasant with cold cuts, chesse and bruschetta. It would have been absolutely perfect if the orange juice were freshly squeezed. I would also recommend an espresso machines instead of the traditional moka but I know that some people like the moka better.

Sumptuous breakfast, delightful setting, splendid views of the countryside, ample parking, well appointed rooms, very friendly and helpful hosts. Would definitely stay here again
- Sharon (10/5): An exquisite stay in a historic family home. - Our stay at Bella di Ceciliano was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Our traditionally decorated room was spacious, and well equipped. The towels were soft and plentiful. The room smelled really good. The included breakfast was top notch. There was enough selection to meet everyone's preferences. Coffee was delivered to the table in a bubbling moka pot, which I thought was a nice touch. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure our comfort; providing access to a kettle for an evening cup of tea, and an early breakfast when we left to fly home. The location, only minutes from Arezzo, was perfect for attending the monthly antique fair and as a base to explore Tuscany. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable.

We were met in the drive by our host, Giacomo, who helped us with our bags and offered us a bottle of local wine. We were served a delicious breakfast each morning of locally made salamis, cheeses, and breads. Bella di Ceciliano is a lovely home with so much history. Giacomo is rightly proud of his heritage and the Arezzo area. He gave us many great ideas for places to visit. Staying here was definitely a highlight of our time in Tuscany!

Ottima colazione a buffet sia dolce che salato. Camera spaziosa, con ampio bagno appena rinnovato. Accoglienza molto simpatica e cordiale da parte dei proprietari. Arezzo si raggiunge in 10 minuti di auto.

- Phil (10/5): Still as good, if not better. - I gave this hotel a glowing review last year, and I liked it enough to go back for another go. The welcome from Betty and Giacomo (and Terry the dog) was even warmer than before. The house and grounds are full of beautiful old world charm. Breakfast has become an even more elaborate affair with a wide range of bread, meats, cheese and some really exotic fruits to choose from. The Tuscan sunsets from the balcony are quite spectacular. Giacomo provided me with a set of itineraries he has produced for interesting day trips and things to see in and around Arezzo.

- Enrico (10/5): - We loved this bed and breakfast and would recommend it to anyone! It was a bit tricky to find but everything else was great. The house is absolutely beautiful and you can walk around outside and enjoy the views of Tuscany. Inside the rooms are very modern (including the shower), with a comfortable bed, and the WiFi worked well. The breakfast that was included was absolutely amazing - warm croissants, Tuscan meats and cheeses, and fresh fruit. Most of all, the family that runs it was super accommodating and helpful. This was by far our favorite place we stayed in over a week of travel.
- Phil (10/5): A very stately B&B - A beautifully maintained mixture of old stately home and family home built on a small hill on the edge of a village a little way out of town. Run by a friendly couple and their son and the dog (sorry that sounds like an estate agent, but I was very impressed with the place). It doesn't have the facilities of a big business or tourist hotel, which suited me perfectly. A local restaurant/pizzeria provided cheap and tasty dinner most nights or Arrezzo is just a few miles away.

- Martin (10/5): A trip back to the 17th century with all mod cons - We arrived very late at the hotel as we had difficulty in finding the hotel. In the end we called Giacomo for help and he was there in a moment on his scooter. Giacomo and Betty could see we were tired and offered us hospitality in the form of fresh pizza and lovely wine, which we were privileged to eat these en famille and to share our stories. We found out that the house had been in the family since the 16th century. So, our stay was like being house guests in a lovely old country house. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was continental. Giacomo had plenty of ideas about what to do and where to eat. Sadly, we missed out on the Joust of the Saracens as we had not booked tickets but did get to the rehearsal on the Friday. We had a very hectic schedule but did not do Arezzo justice. This was sad because it was far more appealing than Siena, which was way too busy as was San Gimignano. We are sorely tempted to return to this lovely area, maybe to sample the hot springs to the south west or continue our pilgrimage on the life of St Francis. We left no time for an exploration of Plutarch's house. Look forward to returning one day.
