Guest Reviews
- Brooke (9/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): Nice room, Jessica was friendly, helpful. - Location. Enjoyed being provided quality mixers for cocktails. Continental breakfast was well rounded. If Jessica didn’t know an answer, she quickly checked resources. Very friendly and helpful. We were cold, as were many others. Heat was turned off for the season. We advised staff. Disappointed that they ran out of English Breakfast tea. Seems a basic necessity.
- Earleen (10/5): Excellent place to stay - The hotel is in a great location, with easy access to local attractions. The bed was very comfortable and provided an excellent night’s sleep. Staff were friendly, professional, and attentive, making check-in and any requests smooth. The rooms and common areas were spotless and well-maintained. Overall, highly recommended for travelers seeking convenience, comfort, and cleanliness. there was nothing to not like
- Matthew (10/5): - Great hotel in a great location!
- Breeana (10/5): Cute cozy place to stay centered in the perfect part of town! So cute - Cute property, home like and quaint in the perfect part of town. Only thing I wish is that they had the fire burning in the back deck more, it was only turned on two nights out of 5.
- Anne (10/5): - The front desk staff was incredibly helpful. property and amenities were perfect. Location could not have been better. We absolutely loved staying there and will stay there on our next trip to Nantucket. It could not have been a nicer getaway and 21 Broad played a huge role in the wonderful weekend experience. Bed could have been softer. Towels could have been whiter/ fluffier- they looked dingy and old.
- Justine (4/5): Beautiful aesthetic but not ideal for comfort - Location was amazing and the decor was lovely. It was so cold in our room and there was no way to turn up the thermostat it was 65° in our room. The windows were drafty as well. We were so cold that we came downstairs and asked for blankets. The front desk employee refused and after asking again gave us bed runners. We ended up using robes to cover up and stay warm. It was very disappointing!
- Michael (10/5): Amazing - Location and how clean and festive. Love the movie, bonfire and treats.
- David (9/5): Excellent spot for a visit to Nantucket. - Central location. Friendly staff who upgraded us from Queen to King and provided helpful information about nearby restaurants. Good Continental breakfast. Price, but this was Nantucket.
- ray (10/5): - the greeter when we arrived was very helpful and courteous. breakfast milk and cream was sour she offered us more. location was great next to two restaurants that were excellent! breakfast milk
- amysmayer (10/5): Peaceful weekend on Nantucket - Lovely weekend with my husband, my first time on Nantucket. The hotel is charming and inviting, an easy walk from the ferry and close to plenty of restaurants and shops, even during this off-season time of year. Our room was on the 3rd fl in a corner with peekaboo views of the water. Comfortable bed, and nicely designed with everything we needed. The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed eating at Brotherhood of Thieves (next door) and Pearl. Recommend the Whaling Museum and a 20 min Uber ride to Sakonet, for a walk along the beautiful shore. We took the city bus (it’s free) back to the hotel, which was also nice.
- Karen (9/5): Loved it can’t wait to come back - Location, decor, room
- Bbaum1 (10/5): Perfect quiet getaway - We had a lovely time at this beautiful hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. The common areas were spacious, and staff were polite and professional. We enjoyed the breakfast, which is sweet leaning. Would love to to see more savory options in the future. Overall, it was an idyllic hotel on an idyllic island. Looking forward to returning soon!
- Austin720 (10/5): Good place - They have smallish rooms but a great common area (lobby). They offer complimentary mixers and set-ups to make your own cocktails (e.g. Old Fashioned):, so bring your own bottle. Good breakfast; nice staff. Better deal than most island stays highly recommend.
- 366hirar (10/5): Wonderful Stay - I was there for a work retreat and 21 Broad worked with the hostess of the retreat to make sure everyone's stay was amazing. They were able to offer us a discount as well as host multiple events throughout our retreat. It was an amazing experience.
- Angier (8/5): -
- Pricate (2/5): Surprisingly disappointing experience for the price - We stayed here for one night, and considering the $370 price for the room, our experience was absolutely unacceptable:
1. The room was on the ground floor and unbearably noisy.
2. The heater didn’t work properly, and the maintenance guy was extremely rude when we called. They make it seem like you can control the temperature, but you actually can’t.
3. Breakfast was pretty disgusting. There was mold on the strawberries, and it was obvious that the muffins and boiled eggs were at least 2–3 days old. The boiled eggs, in particular, felt like eating golf balls.
For the price we paid, this level of neglect is shocking. At the very least, they should ensure the food isn’t expired before serving it. When I pointed out the moldy strawberries to the staff, she didn’t even apologize, she just took them away. Absolutely embarrassing quality and service.
- anniebob29 (8/5): Great location, pleasant staff, nice atmosphere - 21 Broad was a perfect base for our one night/2 day Nantucket getaway. The location is great, particularly if you don't have a car, as it's a very short walk from the ferry wharfs. (If you do have a car, as we did, be warned -- it is not easy to park on the streets nearby, and the staff really wasn't able to offer any advice or tips or even recommendations for places to park -- and also seemed surprised to be asked. I can't believe we're the first people to ask this question, so it would be helpful to see it addressed in the hotel information, even if only to note "parking is difficult near the hotel, as there are no public parking lots and much of the street parking is short-term only".) The hotel is in an old house and is well-maintained. Our party was in two rooms, and although we booked the same room category (standard King rooms), I suspect our room may have been a "Petite" King up on the 3rd floor. Regardless, it was actually a very charming room, nice hardwood floors, cozy, one chair, side tables, a dresser, and a closet where the mini-fridge was also located. Our friends' 2nd floor room was larger, overlooked Broad St and had a nice little sitting area in the front bay window. So, be aware that being an old house YMMV when booking rooms, and in fact the difficulty in distinguishing rooms is also apparent on the website, where the same photos appear under more than one room type. (Probably a good place to note that any time you stay in boutique hotels/inns like this, this is par for the course -- we were not expecting cookie-cutter rooms that were all the same, and neither should you! That's the charm of these hotels.) Our one negative takeaway from our stay at 21 Broad is that while the website describes "plush" king beds, I personally found ours to be rock hard. I like a firm mattress, but there was no attempt with mattress toppers or duvets to make a more comfortable bed, and this would affect my decision about whether to stay here again, unfortunately.
Back to the positives -- in the morning there was a small but nice continental breakfast served in the lobby -- yes, there are plenty of places nearby to get breakfast, but for me yogurt, berries, granola, and pastries is really all I want. (There were also hard boiled eggs, juices, etc.) If you see "breakfast included" and think it will be a full-on hot breakfast, be aware that it is not.
In summary, I highly recommend the hotel for its location, charm, and amenities. If I were to return I would request some kind of bed topper (or bring one with me) or, who knows, maybe some of the beds would be more to my taste than others (this is entirely possibly a "me" problem, which is why I still recommend the hotel despite my own trouble sleeping).
- ballinora4 (10/5): Perfection: modern comforts in a historic setting - Located just a short walk from the ferry this boutique hotel in a historic building is beautifully appointed and sets a very high standard indeed. We had a king deluxe room which was spacious and so comfortable. The decor throughout is modern, so one has the benefit of luxury but in a historic setting.
The only room for improvement I would suggest is in respect to the range and quality of breakfast buffet. The pastries were not good quality and there are no savoury options, such as cold meat and cheeses or bagels with cream cheese, which would have been appreciated.
- fieldserviceng (10/5): Nice place. perfect location - Like many places in Nantucket it’s a Cool Old House that was added onto then turned into a hotel. Rooms were smaller than you might be used. The front porch was a nice place to sit and people watch. Location was perfect… in the heart of the heart of the wharf/dining area.
Everyone working at the hotel was super nice. Wife left behind an earring and they found it! They shipped it to us immediately, which was really very nice
- 165PeterL (10/5): Great Boutique Hotel - Our stay at 21 Broad Street in Nantucket was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and professionalism that made us feel right at home. Every detail — from the beautifully designed rooms to the inviting common spaces — reflected a thoughtful attention to comfort and style. The service was top-notch throughout our visit; the team went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and ensure that every moment was perfect.
The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of downtown Nantucket, just steps from shops, restaurants, and the harbor. It’s the ideal spot for exploring the island while still feeling tucked away in a relaxing, boutique setting. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for such a wonderful experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, charm, and truly outstanding hospitality.
- paulaandbillh (10/5): Wonderful experience - Beautiful hotel! Madison was so patient, helpful and informative when we made our reservations. Honestly, she sold us on visiting Nantucket and her friendly, helpful information sealed the deal. Amanda was so welcoming when we checked in. She, too was a wealth of information about the island. We thoroughly enjoyed 21 Broad's convenient location, which was really appreciated as we navigated ourselves through the city. We wouldn't hesitate to return, and are happy to recommend staying here.
- Mike (10/5): - Great place to stay!
- KariaH22 (10/5): Beautiful Boutique Hotel! - Beautiful Boutique Hotel!
The perfect in-town location — just a short walk to great restaurants and the beach. The hotel is beautifully appointed throughout, with tastefully decorated rooms and bathrooms, and wonderfully comfortable beds with high-quality linens (which I love!). The lobby and outdoor spaces have a cozy, relaxed beach vibe that makes you feel instantly at home. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches — the delicious included breakfast, afternoon cookies and tea, and 24-hour water and coffee available on our floor. A truly lovely stay!
- parford (8/5): Nice, clean B&B within close distance to shopping and ferries - Nice, clean B&B, cute sitting areas and outside areas. Close proximity to the ferries and shopping too. Right down from the whaling museum.
- John (10/5): - We are quite familiar with the area but think this property, its location and furnishings, room and staff were superb!
- Niall (10/5): - lovely quaint hotel, great location, sweet leaning continental breakfast, inviting entrance and common area.
would like to see an upgraded coffee experience, but one of the best coffee shops on island is across the street. will return
- Steven (10/5): - Perfect location. Near everything
- ordinaryfamily (10/5): Wonderful location, breakfast, and vibe - 4th visit. location excellent, entrance and common area inviting. well appointed rooms. travelers with a sweet tooth will love the continental breakfast with well curated baked goods, fresh fruit. There is a wonderful ion filtered water dispenser with sparkling, ambient, chilled, or hot water. very nice touch.
The only 2 improvements would be to offer a savory choice on breakfast offering and upgrade the Keurig to Nespresso in this price point of a hotel. Will return
- Thomas (6/5): - Best is location. Noisy from street and room to room. Shower and sink water temperatures wildly inconsistent. Hair dryer useless. Lack of windows in room. Felt closed in and claustrophobic. Breakfast lacked variety day to day. Very much overpriced for what you get.
- marksQ8289TU (4/5): Disappointed with second time at Inn - Service was below average for a small Inn. This was my second time and as we came and left the folks at the desk could barely acknowledge your existence. We came in on one of the few days with rain and was expecting help with luggage but apparently that is not offered. The room was adequate but the floors were significantly uneven i assume given age of building (Room 203). The door also let in significant light in the evening as a result. The shower was either scalding hot or cold as the temperature control was poor at best. The departure was as expected as we caught a 7:40 ferry and left around 7AM. No desk duty so we dropped our keys and headed out which seemed fitting. Unfortunately given the circumstances i could no longer recommend given other options on the island.
- Mary Kay (10/5): -
- 429kah (10/5): Perfect mother daughter trip! - The location could not have been better. The hotel was quiet, safe and had tasteful decor. The lobby breakfast and coffee station outside of room were a bonus!
- Nick (10/5): Enjoyed the Stay - Enjoyed our stay. Staff was very helpful & friendly. The hotel was clean and bright with modern decor. I enjoyed the fire pit out back to just relax. The continental breakfast was wonderfully sugary and sinful.
- Kevin (10/5): - A pretty hotel, with great service.
- stevemo (10/5): Very nice experience - Great location. 5 good restaurants on the street and main shopping district 2 blocks away. Wonderful staff. Very good complimentary breakfast each morning. Common spaces are excellent especially the back deck where you can eat breakfast. Nice coffee and water station on the second floor open 24 hours. Only negative is the Queen rooms all look out on a building next door maybe 12 feet way, so no view. The Queen room was small but fine though. Very clean. bathroom was large.
- Kimberly (9/5): Great location, clean and pretty, friendly staff! - We love the location, the decor/aesthetic, the happy hour and breakfast, the water machine, and our room (we request the same each time). Also love the availability of beach chairs and towels, though the chairs themselves aren’t great.
- Kathy (10/5): -
- Sofia (10/5): -
- kathleen (10/5): - I have stayed at 21 b
- sallymQ6969EL (4/5): Couples trip to Nantucket - 21 Broad is a lovely boutique hotel in a historic Victorian home. The decor is modern and fresh. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, our room was in the front of the building on the ground floor. The street gets lots of foot traffic late into the evening and it was very noisy. Additionally, there is a bar right next door, and seating on the front porch right beside the room, both making the noise even more of an issue. This particular room should not be a guest room.
If you choose to stay at 21 Broad, request a room on a high floor in the back of the property.
- Lazz4 (10/5): A gem of a place! - Incredible little gem! Booked on a whim and was originally based on price before Labor Day week. What a pleasant surprise, this place was amazing!! Loved our entire stay from the room, location, porches, happy hour, breakfast, staff etc. After biking all throughout the island, we have to say this was the absolute location there is. Walkable from ferry and to everything in town. We can't wait to come back. The front porch was the absolute best part of our stay.
- Nickynickjj (8/5): Great stay - 21 Broad is perfect location, within walking distance to most restaurants, shopping, ferry, and beach. The only draw back, and this may be because our room was on 1st floor in the front was the garbage trucks that were picking up very early in the morning were very loud, as well as the food delivery trucks servicing the restaurants. I definitely understand this has to get done, just putting it out there, that you will hear it, if staying in room 103. We would absolutely stay again, but would request a different room
- PAtricia (9/5): A great vacation in a beautiful location. - Loved the location, the beach chairs, beach towels, the furnishings. The AC worked great and the coffee and pastry in the morning was very good. Having a mini fridge was really good. We loved sitting on the front porch each evening and people watching. The shower is huge and beautiful but had just a tiny little wire shelf, which was terrible. Similarly, the sink was gorgeous but there was no counter space to put toiletries or toothbrushes.
- 593angiel (10/5): Heart of it all! - Traveled very last minute to Nantucket on an anniversary/birthday trip with my husband after our flight was cancelled to our initial destination.
I was shockingly able to book the day before, at a reasonable rate (comparatively). Upon arrival, we were able to check-in early which was a pleasant surprise. Our arrival experience as well as our stay was top notch.
I would describe the property as an Inn. Rooms were unique and we had plenty of space for the two of us. The hotel’s location is in the heart of it all. We were so close to restaurants and shopping as well as bike rentals and the ferry. 5 stars for location! That said, because it’s in the heart of it all, there is some street noise, however, there was a thoughtfully placed white noise machine that when turned on, drown out any noise.
We would absolutely visit 21/19 Broad again!
- Stephen (8/5): Room for improvement - Generally nice people, but some need basic training in Customer Relations.
Several issues with the room 209 which I outlined to the Management in my review. Unfortunately, I only received a canned response.
- FLgirl222 (8/5): Wonderful Stay in Nantucket - We stayed here for four nights and could not have been happier with our decision! The location cannot be beat! It was our first visit to Nantucket so made it very convenient to walk into town, restaurants, bars, beach, ferries and even to our boat tours! We didn't have a car and didn't need one. We loved the morning breakfast on the patio and loved the evenings on the front porch on the rockers! The only downside was the size of the room and bathroom. We are an older couple and after 4 evenings were happy to be moving to a hotel in Newport with more space. If we ever return to Nantucket we wouldn't hesitate to return to 21 Broad! Thank you to the friendly employees that made our visit to Nantucket special!
- marygreg (10/5): Nantucket get away in town - Great location and rooms. Breakfast bites and beach chairs are a nice plus!
A quick walk to all restaurants and The Wave!
- Remybos (10/5): Outstanding!! - Great location! Room was clean and quiet. Great deck out back and front porch was a good location to chill a bit before dinner. Would not hesitate to return for another stay the next time we are in Nantucket.
- Sophia (5/5): After being a loyal customer and going back every summer we were rewarded with the worst room - location. friendly staff. food treats Room- location. Extremely noisy to the point where you could not sleep. Bed practically on the floor with no box spring or elevation. Problem with AC where we had to shut it off. Room was not cleaned many days until after 4.
- jeffwZ7123MU (10/5): Second awesome experience! - This was our second time staying at 21 Broad and it only seems to get better! The staff, room, breakfast, location, location, location, were all awesome! The common areas are great as well and I need to mention the filtrated water and soda water (?) machine on the second floor. Just the best experience overall!
- Mandi (10/5): - staff and hotel were exceptional. Location is ideal. Really great spot. Would definitely book here again.
- 21seanh (10/5): Wonderful Hotel in Nantucket - We really enjoyed our time at 21 Broad. The staff was very attentive and made us feel at home the entire time. The room was great and 100% met our needs. The location was great - close to everything while still retaining a restful feel.
- Sanna (9/5): All the staff were so friendly helpful and accommodating. We loved it - Great location and beautifully appointed rooms The bedrooms on the front were very noisy from early morning but the management were very helpful and understanding and moved us
- Stephanie (10/5): - We LOVE 21 Broad. We make it a point to stay here whenever we come to Nantucket. It’s so charming. The staff are all friendly and helpful every single time. The morning coffee and continental breakfast is great - there are a lot of options from yogurts, to gf doughnuts, to eggs with a savory salt. Yum! The back patio is quiet and cozy. You can’t beat the location. There is a bonus front porch with chairs for people watching or just resting your legs after a day of shopping at all the great shops nearby. Thank you 21 Briad for another great experience. We will return.
- Al (10/5): - Great stay. Easy check in check out. Nice breakfast . The building is old so the floor was irregular . Be steady on your feet
Easy walk to the ferry terminal. Will stay again.
- Tara (9/5): Superb -
- tsnm (10/5): Lovely place, peaceful amid the bustle - We loved 21 Broad! Perfect central location, friendly staff, beautiful modern rooms. The mixer bar was a fun bonus, my teen sons and I had fun mixing mocktails. Breakfast was decent, mostly pastries, but they were good quality. The rooms were beautiful and clean. We arrived early and were able to store our luggage before check-in, we also stored them on the day of departure. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The large back patio has a gas fire going at night and the front porch is perfect for people watching. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Also, if you are a family of 4, they have one set of adjoining rooms, which was not available. However, they put us in two room in a little nook, that were almost adjoining. It was perfect!
- NewportGuyNewportRI (10/5): Nantucket Getaway - Second time visiting - from check in to departure we had a wonderful 4 days at 21 Broad. Amanda is a gracious host and very helpful with any questions or recommendations. Our 3rd floor room was spacious and very comfortable. See you next year!
- 13gavinf (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Great accommodations! Clean and well-appointed rooms with classic charm. The staff was very personable and helpful and the location is terrific.
- Gavin (10/5): Great ACK Stay! - Great accommodations! Clean, comfortable, and classy. Very friendly and personable staff and excellent hang out areas on front porch and back deck area. Location in town a plus but can but a bit loud at night with passers by if you have a room on Broad Street.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Terrible odor - Most of the staff were excellent and the room was visually appealing but the room had a horrendous smell. It was a very strong musty spell. We notified staff and they sent maintenance right up to inspect. They identified leaking around the ac unit in the ceiling and changed the air filter. It did help slightly for a few hours along with all the windows open but it persisted through out the stay.
- Sherpa24611898748 (10/5): Had a great stay for our mini-moon! - We stayed here for two nights for our mini-moon and it was perfect! From the moment we got a text early that our room was ready (without asking for early check-in) everything was perfect.
There was a complimentary bottle of rose with a nice note waiting for us. The hotel was nice and clean and comfortable. The location was perfect - we could walk everywhere downtown. We also enjoyed some downtime sitting out on the patio with a drink and a snack during their "mixer" hour.
We would stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area!
- jasonbH6555VW (10/5): Best stay on Nantucket - Wonderful location, outstanding amenities, amazing staff! This was our fourth stay at 21 Broad and we can't wait to go back!
- Jessica (10/5): - Such a cute place! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I loved the coffee, water, and ice cream stations. They had many nice offerings for free throughout the day. The rooms were always so fresh and clean. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. It is located right in the middle of downtown so you can walk to everything! Also, the ferry depot is right up the street!
- drhck (10/5): Great vaca at 21 Broad - My wife and I made a late decision to visit Nantucket and were fortunate to find a room at 21 Broad for four nights. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great convenient location for restaurants, shops, and people watching from the front porch.
- 796bernicer (6/5): Beautiful Location, But Room Cleanliness Needs Improvement - The location is perfect, and the beach chairs provided were phenomenal—such a great way to enjoy the setting. However, the breakfast offered very minimal variety, and we were disappointed to find significant mold in the ice fridge. Additionally, our room felt dirty and dusty, which took away from the overall experience. With a few improvements in cleanliness and food options, this could easily be a top-tier stay.
- Patricia (10/5): - Great breakfast
Wonderful staff
- Alan (10/5): - The staff was excellent; the ambiance was attractive; the decor was elegant;m. We would suggest some variety at breakfast, especially with respect to diet sensitivity.
- Amy (10/5): - The room was fairly small but had everything we needed. Great amenities - including fridge, bathrobes, and beach towels in the rooms, and water/coffee station, bike racks on the property. Very short walk to the ferry and great location in the heart of the town.
- Isabel (10/5): - Great location and awesome staff
- Cindy (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful Inn, great location, wonderful breakfast and staff
- Hilgendi (10/5): Outstanding experience - We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in your house, from the minute we arrived. You really made the difference. Hospitality of the crew, quality of room and sleep comfort were outstanding, cleanliness on an exceptional level. Everything even to the flower arrangement on the patio is so well thought through and kept at an awesome level. We had an outstanding Nantucket experience - you were a major partner it! Thank you so much for it!
- 705tonyad (10/5): Nantucket Weekend Getaway! - The property is conveniently located near the town. Lots of options for food and shopping, walking distance to the beach. The deck was peaceful, had a nice fire pit to sit by, soundings were well maintained, beautiful flowers surrounding the deck. The hotel was clean, simply furnished and the colors gave a nice clean coastal feel. Room were well equipped with a coffee maker, small fridge, plenty of linens, good size for a couple. The continental breakfast consist of coffee, juice, danish/muffins and yogurt. The only recommendation I would have, would be to offer a little better variety in the morning. We stayed 3 nights and the breakfast selection was the same and one morning they ran out of yogurt so there were only a few small muffins available. They offered snacks in the afternoon which was a nice bonus. They had available beach chairs and towel which was a nice treat as well. Overall our stay was very nice, was our second time stay at the 21 Broad and I would definitely stay again. Highly recommend.
- Leonard (10/5): - Very nice property in great location
- Karrieann17 (4/5): Nice place but, thin walls/ceilings and staff smoking right below room 107 are a deal breaker. - Storage space is tight. If this was the only issue, not a big problem, can make do. The big problems are:
1. Walls/floors are super thin. We can hear every conversation above and beside us and of course it happens just as you start to fall asleep.
2. Staff hangs out on back stairwell chain smoking. Windows closed, it still seeps into our room.
If you stay here, do NOT take room 107. Unfortunately it is a lovely place and staff are kind but noise and smoking are deal breakers for me.
- Kevan (10/5): - They were awesome. Super friendly and flexible. Great place to stay.
- Freedom619427 (10/5): Quaint hotel in a great Location. - We had a fabulous stay at 21 Broad. The Ladies at the desk are welcoming and informative. Everything went smoothly from check in to checkout. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable. We enjoyed the whole property from the patio for breakfast and BYOB happy hour to the rocking chairs on the front porch. The Location was ideal for a few days on the island. We highly recommend a stay at 21 broad.
- Figawi (8/5): 21 Broad- good value for in town location. - Renovated Nantucket Home into a contemporary Inn, in-town location, upscale decor, very hospitable staff. We’ve been going to Nantucket for 33 years after meeting there and getting married there. We’ve have stayed everywhere from The Wauwinet, The White Elephant, Nantucket Hotel, Veranda House, old Harbor House, 76 Main… and more. 21 Broad new to us- location great for shopping and dining! Very welcoming Staff, beautiful outdoor common space and very clean and upscale decorated rooms. The entire property has an eclectic vibe. We had a disappointing and unexpected room when we arrived - not what we thought we had reserved. We stayed in the room the first night but it was not comfortable for us- only on tiny window and quite small despite a lovely aesthetic. At 7:45 AM the next morning we texted front desk and within 30 minutes we had a new room- which was exactly what we had originally expected and thought we had reserved. It was much larger with more windows and we were now very happy! They later explained that due to historic nature of property each room is very different which we understood- and they refunded us our first night stay which was very generous and accommodating as we had barely slept. This is a great property for single or couple travelers who want an in town location - nice continental breakfast included as well.
- Brian (9/5): Beautiful, cozy hotel located in a wonderful and convenient part of historic Nantucket. - This hotel is located in a wonderful area close to the ferry, restaurants, shopping, the Whaling Museum etc. We loved just strolling the streets and discovering all the local vendors. The hotel itself was beautiful and quaint inside and out. We loved the breakfast area right next to the reception desk and the outside area with its gas fire pit was the perfect place to hang out after a day of exploring the island. Our room was cozy, comfortable and well appointed. We loved the decor. We also really appreciated that they had a 24 hour coffee/tea/water/ice station right outside our room. The breakfast fare of pastries, fruit and yogurt was just what we needed to start our day. Although we loved the charm of this hotel with its old architecture the one drawback was that our bathroom door would not stay closed. We asked the front desk for a door stop and they provided us with one but unfortunately they didn't check that it would work. We got a good laugh when we tried using it and it simply slid right under the door to the other side (the gap was large). We ended up using the trash can in the bathroom to keep the door closed.
- Hagan (9/5): Relaxing and welcoming. - Clean, friendly staff. Could not control individual room temperature. It was colder than usual for this time of year so we were a bit uncomfortable at times.
- Robyn (10/5): Exceptional - Front desk was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a treat. And we loved the afternoon cookies!!
- anthropologi (8/5): Lovely to be back in Nantucket - This is a return visit to 21 Broad, we stayed here a few years ago and loved it.
PROS: The hotel is clean, well appointed and comfortable. Rooms are not huge but light, bright, and airy. Cosy inviting public areas to sit and read etc. Bathrooms are small but manageable.
Even cookies and snacks and drinks are a nice touch and so is the all day tea/coffee availability.
Staff are helpful and friendly.
CONS:
We were really disappointed by the decline in the quality of breakfast. it was very good the last time we stayed. This time it consisted of pretty basic grocery store baked goods, yogurt, granola, and berries. No savory (sugar free options) at all.
- Linda (10/5): - It was beautifully decorated inside and out (enjoyed sitting outside to read) Great location to walk most places or to hop on the free island buses! Everyone was helpful and polite!
- mj2996 (10/5): Location, location, location, servers excellent. - Incredible service, especially Silvio. Only one less than great item, breakfast pastries were stale.
- Edward (7/5): Good - The location was excellent! The facility itself was beautiful! For $870/night the breakfast included was underwhelming. Both mornings the coffee carafe was empty & I had to ask for it to be replenished. Some of the pastries were stale. With 2 staff at the desk I think the breakfast service was poor.
- Sean (8/5): Very good - Location Price
- Amy (10/5): - I stayed at 21 Broad for a quiet break during the off season. It was perfect. I had a lovely corner room filled with light. The hotel was elegant, clean, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and thoughtful.
It felt kind of like staying at a friend’s very nice house.
I’m panning on coming back next fall.
- A5491QKrobertb (10/5): Wonderful Experience - My wife and I decided to revisit Nantucket after a 19-year hiatus and selected 21 Broad for our week-long stay. We couldn't have been happier. This was our first visit to the hotel, and they upgraded our room prior to arrival, which was a nice bonus. The building is physically attractive with clean, modern design finishes throughout. The staff - from management to front desk to housekeeping - was very warm, accommodating and helpful. We particularly liked how the continental breakfast varied each day, and who could resist the smell of freshly-baked cookies each afternoon for the BYOB happy hour? An unexpected benefit was the large handicap ramp. This is not something we thought about beforehand, but my wife walks with a cane and traversing the steps on the old Nantucket buildings is a challenge for her. Although we were in a Deluxe King room, there was no dresser, so we had to live out of our suitcases, but two luggage racks were provided. This is not intended to be a knock - after all, the property was built in 1840.
Overall, we loved our stay and look forward to returning.
- J_Fitzgerald (10/5): Loved everything! - We absolutely loved our stay at 21 Broad. Super comfortable bed and linens, fabulous bathroom, delicious breakfast and my favorite, the refillable glass water bottles and water station. The patio and potted plants outside were just beautiful and the fire pit was lit at night. Thank you!
- Charles (10/5): Ecxcell not hotel and location - Friendly helpful staff and nice rooms. Happy hour offers mixers, ice, many types of bitters and drink mixes. All you need to bring is your own liquor. Nice patio fire pit great location
- DaveGustaf (6/5): Nice hotel but... - Great hotel in a great location but if you visit in the off-season make sure that they have their heating/cooling set appropriately. We arrived in late October when we had some 70 degree days which is not typical. The hotel had disabled their a/c for the season which made for miserable sleeping conditions especially because our room baked in the sun all day. It had been warm in the days leading up to our visit as well. Several guests complained and they turned on the a/c the day we were leaving which was frustrating. The hotel needs to do a better job of paying attention to the weather and ensuring the guests are comfortable.
- mikerizk66 (10/5): GREAT experience, beautiful room, awesome service - Great overall experience. Lovely hotel that felt like home. Outstanding overall service. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. In addition, the rooms were well decorated and very clean. I highly recommend 21 Broad and cannot wait to come back.
- E9298NEjohnh (10/5): Over and Above - I took my girlfriend for her birthday, as neither of us had ever been to Nantucket. We had a great time. Overall hotel experience, especially the service, was great and so is the location. Loved the island. I had bought my kids some gifts prior to leaving and left the bag at the hotel when I departed after picking up my luggage. The nice woman at the front desk tracked me down and brought it to me before I even realized it i had forgotten it. I was a couple blocks away. Unbelievably happy, She must be the owner.
- LakeGrif (8/5): Lovely hotel - Very pretty hotel and perfect location for walking all around town. We had one issue but the manager quickly apologized and resolved the issue and there isn’t anything more you can ask for. If you prefer a cooler room request first or second floor. Nice patio and porch with rockers.
Nice pastry breakfast and keurig center made grabbing breakfast before the beach so easy
- Abigail0605 (10/5): Cozy fall stay at 21 Broad - We so enjoyed our stay at 21 Broad! The room was so cozy and the common areas were very well kept. Our stay was so comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The location was also perfect, and I would absolutely stay here again in the future. We usually go to Nantucket for the day, but when we decide to stay over, it will definitely be at 21 Broad.
- Timothy (10/5): - This is prime location when you want to stay In Town!!
- B8599YMcourtneyc (10/5): Delightful stay! - WOW!! 21 Broad exceeded our expectations. The hotel has good value for the location compared to other nearby hotels. We were so delighted by a sweet anniversary gift for my partner and I. Very clean and comfortable. Wonderful breakfast and mixer bar! We will DEFINITELY be staying here again!
- William (8/5): Downtown Nantucket - Great place to stay. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Beds and sheets were great. Convenient to everything downtown. Would stay here again, highly recommend
- CONOR (8/5): - Mildew smell was the only bad thing, all else great
