- Amy (10/5): - Marc and June were so kind and accommodating. We needed a late check in and they were very quick to respond and awesome to accommodate us! The breakfast was delicious and June quickly offered and whipped up some eggs especially for my husband because he has a mushroom allergy (which I completely forgot to tell them about) and one of her many breakfast options contained mushrooms. Another lady had a gluten allergy and she kindly had special options for her, as well. They were delightful conversationalists and made us feel right at home!

- Sharon (10/5): - The only thing we would change would be to extend breakfast hours a little later to allow the dining area to better accomodate all guests when it's fully booked, as it was over Father's Day weekend.

Mark knows how to fix a myriad of things, is an excellent photographer, and very welcoming host. Our stay was so lovely that we booked an additional night on a return journey for the same week. They also have a ChargePoint in their parking lot for electric vehicles, which was a surprise plus!

All guest liked her talk. My wife and I will return sometime. We are telling friends and family to go and stay at Die Heimat.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We had a number of issues with the property. 1. Upon check in we were told that we could have booked a lower price directly with the Inn. 2. we were placed in a very small room and not offered any upgrade options, even though several larger rooms were available during our stay. 3. the bed we slept on creaked every time you moved, so we were constantly being awakened. 4l during the night, there was a window air conditioning unit running either below us or next to us that kept us awake most of night #2 of our stay. Based on this experience I would not stay again, nor would I recommend this Inn to any of my friends.
- Jim (10/5): - Everything was great -- property, people and food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - June and Marc are wonderful hosts. They explained the history of Amana Colonies and a Homestead. Great location, peaceful and relaxing. Delicious breakfast. Definitely stay again.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - At check in they didn't explain anything. We had to leave early next morning & they weren't very interested in having some breakfast for us before 8 am.
- Suzanne (8/5): Great place, but check room size in advance! - Room was a little small with a slant roof. My husband is very tall and had some difficulty. The service was impeccable. The breakfast was delicious. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable.

- Pamela (10/5): - What a wonderful time! Thank you For such an amazing time! The room and the food were so perfect!

- Amy (10/5): Highly recommended! - What a great place to stay! It's easy to find, wonderfully decorated, very comfortable, and the food is DELICIOUS! The innkeepers (the Hershbergers) are very welcoming, and the neighborhood is very quiet (except for the occasional train, which isn't a problem). I stayed two nights and would go back again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Check in was easy,The staff is friendly and very helpful. Our room was very clean and had all the amenities. Although the Inn was nearly full we thought we were alone, it was very quiet and relaxing. The breakfast in the morning was sensational. June and Marc are great hosts and talked about some sites to see and history of the area. We will be going back!!.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location as a launching point for your Amana Colonies get away. Easily accessible to various other towns and cities with other attractions that does not require long traveling distances.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The food was great. The room we had was a little small.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Die Heimat! Beautiful, comfortable, and quiet room - with a delicious breakfast! Hosts June & Marc were friendly and helpful. The Amana Colonies were a pleasant surprise with adorable shops and restaurants.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We enjoyed visiting with the other visitors and the owners were so accommodating. June would refill coffee at breakfast and visit with each group like they were old friends. Janice talked about the history of the Amana Colonies while we were enjoying her amazing breakfast. Love the people!!!
- Erryl (10/5): Very nice and friendly B&B - I was a little put off at the refusal to let me check in 20 minutes early. There is almost nothing to do in Homestead. Other than that, my stay was perfect. The price was reasonable... I stayed in a premium room that was very comfortable... breakfast was great. Homestead is close to Amana and the other colonies.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very nice enjoyed fantastic food and service peaceful sleep easy find
- Philip (8/5): Nice place. - Room was clean and service was great. Bathroom was very small. Should have upgraded to larger more expensive room.
- Don&Candy (10/5): - welcoming owners and comfortable surroundings. We enjoyed visiting with owners and guests during the breakfast.
- Geraldine (10/5): Hawkeye North Caralina Guests - it was friendly relaxing and a great food for Breakfast. The owners made us feel welcome and that they were interested in why we were in the Amanas
- Geoff (8/5): A very nice B&B - Reception was friendly and informative. Room was nicely furnished and comfortable. Location was very nice. Breakfast room was very noisy due to the chatter from the other guests. Breakfast was adequate.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We were welcomed when we arrived and at breakfast by the hosts.
- Silvia (10/5): Worth to come back - It is a real paradise. Quiet, friendly hosts, excellent breakfast!
- Robert E. (10/5): Great place to stay. - Very comfortable room. The owners were very nice and always smiling. Breakfast was different each morning and very good. Would definitely go back again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice friendly staff, but all the rooms had a very pungent odor that set the tone for the whole stay.
- Todd (10/5): - wonderful breakfast, owners very helpful with surrounding areas and thing to see. Quiet rooms. Great experience, will definitely go back.
- Kathy (10/5): - We loved our room—so spacious, comfortable, nice bright windows and very tastefully, Amana-appropriate decor! The ceiling fan was a nice plus. The homemade breakfast was excellent each morning, homemade casserole and pastries, delicious fresh fruit and juices. The owners/hosts, Marc and June, were so friendly and interesting—they made you feel like you were family! It is conveniently located just a couple of miles from Main Amana so it was a very pleasant drive though beautiful countryside to get between the 7 Amana villages. We will DEFIJITELY return and bring our daughters and families to stay...they have three lovely rooms that adjoin and connect! A TOTALLY lovely, relaxing stay! :-)
- Michael (10/5): Honeymoon wonder - Wonderful stay, great people. Marc and June made our time with them special. Breakfast was amazing!
- Connie (10/5): - Wonderful hospitality. The owners welcomed us, prepared and served a delicious breakfast (homemade vegetable quiche, Amana maple sausages, amazing oatmeal, cinnamon rolls, coffee cake, fresh fruit, great coffee with real cream and more!), and conversed with the guests in the common room. The room was very pleasant with two beds covered with handmade quilts and pillows. Will definitely stay there on future trips to Amana.
- George (10/5): - Wonderful, personal experience. Great breakfast. Very knowledgable and helpful about what to see, do, and history of area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place was great. Clean comfortable and relaxing. We stayed there 2 nights in a very cozy room. Both mornings the breakfast was fabulous. You could tell a lot of work went into it.
I believe if we come back to the area we will definitely be staying there.
- Lori (10/5): - Very cozy.
- Ralph (10/5): Die Heimat Country Inn - June 2018 - Lovely B&B, great owners, room was very comfortable with a very powerful air conditioner, nice breakfast, perfectly located for the Amana Colonies and other Iowa attractions.
- H (8/5): - Great breakfast - great host and hostess - room VERY small. Needs tender loving care which is an ongoing process at this hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was great, large room & the most comfortable beds.
- Ronald (10/5): One night stop over - Our room was the economy room and was a little small but was perfect for the one night we stayed. Very comfortable bed and 2 chairs to sit in. For a longer visit we would look into a little larger room which they offer. Breakfast was excellent. Owners very friendly and pleasant.
- Robert (8/5): Excellent Service - The owners were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The building was in the national register and was beautiful. Amana is nearby and has a lot of history. The room was smallish, but old buildings can be that way. My wife’s one requirement for any old B&B was that we have a private bathroom and this quaint building does. I believe they have sixteen different rooms.
- The vet (10/5): A wonderful bed & breakfast - Marc and June are very welcoming to guests that stay at their bed & breakfast. They tell you about the Amana colonies and what there is to see and do. The rooms are very quaint, the beds are very comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was so tasty: juice, coffee, fresh fruit, an egg dish, hot oatmeal, apple cake, fresh cinnamon buns, etc. We recommend this place highly....much better than some luxury hotels!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I have been staying here for years when I take classes at the Amana Colony Art Guild. Awesome breakfast!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a special and wonderful place ! Sure glad we stopped here and wish we had more time.
- Brenda (10/5): Exactly what I needed - I arrived to find Marc putting up Christmas lights on the outside of the B&B and June was inside. Everything was perfect from my room, the accommodations as a whole and breakfast in the morning. Relaxing and chatting with June was delightful. I can't wait to visit again!
- big al (10/5): great place, close to the anama stuff - had funn. will go back. food was good. enjoyed fire place in our room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice room. Hosts were wonderful. Very close to the Amana Colonies.
- PAUL (10/5): Relaxing - My wife and I visited the Amana Colonies and stayed at Die Heimat. It was a pleasant stay. Mark & Jane make you feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious .
- Arlen (10/5): Very Pleased - Great Experience.......want to do it again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very quaint, full of antiques we could relate to - Innkeepers friendly and knowledgeable We e joyed our stay
- Keith (8/5): - It is a charming Inn. We really enjoyed the breakfast story telling time.
- Tom (10/5): Excellent accommodations. Great hosts. Will go b - Excellent accommodations. Great hosts. Very clean with a lot of history. Will return
- Ingrid (8/5): Nice stay in Homestead - Hosts were friendly. Breakfasts were tasty. Our room was very small but there are many larger rooms to choose from. Amana shopping only 15 minutes away. If we came to Amana again I would stay in Amana for convenience. Beautiful area of our country.
- Paul (8/5): Good Value and Cozy - Nice cozy, friendly B&B located very close to Amana Colonies. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms so it wasn't that roomy of course and the bathroom was closet size, but it worked for us. There was ample parking out back and everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a late check in and they called to let us know they would leave us a room key at the front desk. There was a little A/C unit in the wall above the bed that was enough to cool the room and drown out some of the noise from the adjoining rooms and water pipe noise. The walls were pretty thin so if you are a light sleeper, I would inquire if there are more quieter rooms. Breakfast was buffet style and pretty good with great tasting Mango juice. Overall a nice experience and the price was really great for a Sat. night. during a football game weekend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): visiting amana - Every thing was great except the size of the room and bath. Not a big problem. Not sure what room we we requested. Overall we had a great stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was great. Breakfast was outstanding, especially enjoyed the group interaction w cook. AC was too noisy and filter dirty, so only used ceiling fan which was tolerable.
- Rick (10/5): Thanks for the experience - We enjoyed the history of the homestead. The breakfast was amazing . We had a room with a queen size bed the room was very small and not easy to get around the sink was inthe same room as the bed which was a little different the toilet ran off and on all night we have never stayed at a B&B and I think we would pick a bigger room option next time
- Verified traveler (8/5): Peaceful rest in good location - A charming historic home and comfortable room for our visit to the Amana Colonies. As a B and B, the breakfast that was provided (buffet style) was rather meager and disappointing. We did enjoy talking with the other couple (guests) who were there for breakfast at the same time.
