Verified traveler (4/5): 2 stars - Second time I booked this room, first time was great, this time the carpet was so dirty that I had to ask the owner to cover part of it with a carpet, fire alarm rung Saturday morning for 2 hours, Saturday night briefly and Sunday morning for one hour, the balcony net door was not sliding easily, bathroom door was not closing easily, there were drawing from previous visitor on room mirror (could be seen only under certain angles though), a plastic piece of the toilet flush was broken when we arrived. Good thing is that the owner is very handy and responsive and that he is planning to replace the carpet. You could enjoy your stay if you have more luck than me as the hotel is well situated in front of the lake.
Linzi (2/5): Waterview? More Like Fire Alarm Hell - Worst stay of my life. $450 for two nights in a dusty, musty room with towels that smelled like mildew and beds full of crumbs. I had to use my inhaler constantly because of the dust. Then came the nightmare: fire alarms blasting at 9 a.m. for FOUR hours straight. The blonde cleaning lady barged into our room (while my friend was in a towel) accusing us of smoking, then told me to “calm down.” We ate breakfast outside because it was too loud inside. The fire department came into our room 15 times and even admitted the system was outdated. It didn’t end there!!! alarms again at midnight, then again at 7 a.m., and every 15 minutes after that. Basically paid to stay inside a fire drill simulator. When I asked the owner for a partial refund, he argued, made excuses, and told me it was “out of his control.” Sir, you’re the OWNER. Take responsibility. No communication, no customer service, no care for guests. Save your money, save your sanity, and sleep literally ANYWHERE else — your car, a park bench, even the side of the road would’ve been more restful than this place.

Plenty of hot water, but the shower which was located beside the bathroom, was uncomfortable and potentially dangerous to use because of very slippery plastic floor and sides. Needs at minimum a rubber safety mat, and also a grab bar! Coffee maker in room produced tasteless brew - machine and /or coffee supplies need updating!

Lori (2/5): - The building and property was very old and outdated. A tired building with VHS machine and a tiny TV. A building is available to microwave and eat in but it was old with cobwebs, very low lighting, and dark and drabby. It’s was nice down by the water and there was a little gazebo, chairs, swings, and a few other activities available. There was internet and there are places to eat nearby although nothing is close enough to walk to. The room itself as well as the dining area needs updating and a good clean. We didn’t see anybody around working on the property or keeping things tidy and clean. Would NOT recommend.

Laura (8/5): - The property is beautiful with good curb appeal but many areas need updating. The room was very dated with the jetted tub with the only shower being in the room. The carpet was dirty and the deck has seen better days. I was also surprised at check in to find that they charge a previously undisclosed 2% fee for credit cards. It’s an inn/motel - credit cards are a cost of doing business and I’m surprised it’s passed on to the guest directly and without disclosing ahead of time. WIFI was terrible. It was comfortable for a night on our road trip but I wouldn’t want an extended stay.

People in town were friendly but every place we wanted to try for dinner closed at 5 or 6 and there is no gas station in Wiarton which caused a bit of panic.

I came back and no designated room parking so I ended up parking in the grass to the side very dark there I had to use my cell to see where I was walking. No microwave in rooms. Towels hard, I don’t think they use softener. Normally a towels are new white mine where old and green and few brown ones. Small conditioner they left was half used by someone else so I threw it away. Over staff are great. It’s 2 minutes from closest Tim Horton’s for morning coffee bcz they don’t give sugar or coffee whitener. Hot tub was older and buttons didn’t work first time I pushed them, I hurt my fingers trying to make it work I had to push so hard. Over it’s clean but not my first choice. Oh air conditioner did work amazing in room.

Xenia (6/5): - Could use some improvents..like a screen door to help prevent mosquitoes from coming in..you can not keep the door open but a few seconds before the mosquitoes fly right in, we had to swat quite a lot of mosquitoes before we could even get some sleep..also the Villa we stayed in could use an a/c in one of the rooms..the one room has an opening, since the wall does not go all the way up to the ceiling, it gets air from the a/c in the living room, but the other room does not have an opening, and does not have an a/c so you have to keep the door open, not allowing much privacy for the other room, since the wall does not go all the way up to the ceiling.. I appreciate that They were very accommodating for us since we had a birthday in the family and we wanted to celebrate it,

EDUARDO (4/5): - The room (102) doesn't have a good air ventilation; it felt like a sauna although it was 14 C outside. If I turn the AC on, it was so noisy that it was impossible to sleep. I couldn't sleep all night. Those conditions for a costly $207 per night, it's unacceptable. Any motel on the road can give you a better condition, at least to sleep well

Shelley (8/5): - I was really impressed when I first walked into the room and saw how spotlessly clean it was. The bed is comfortable and the view of the Bay and backyard is wonderful. The balcony seems quite private, however it is snowing in April so I did not get to enjoy it. There is a good size fridge and you will also have access to the rec hall which has a microwave, toaster, dishes and plenty of seating. The room furnishings are a bit dated, however as I said earlier are impeccably clean. There is also an impressive amount of VCR tapes you can borrow. I am pretty sure the shower had been recently renovated. I was able to control the room temp easily. Check in was easy. The staff is very friendly as well.

Catherine (8/5): Just okay - We were disappointed with the room. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. The toilet didn't flush very well, the shower curtain rod came down when my husband went to have a shower. Towels are pretty cheap. A chair in the room would be nice to put clothes on etc. Nice view and if the weather is nice enough and you are able to sit outside that would be a plus to the room. Don't think we will stay again not at that price for what you get. We aren't super picky but it was a little get away for the two of us so a bit disappointing but it was clean, that's important.

Jeff (10/5): - Great view of Bay and large property to roam down to water edge. Very clean property with deck to view Bay from hillside.

Andrew (10/5): - Stayed for 2 nights and really liked this property. The grounds are extensive down to the lake front and include an outdoor pool. The room was fine, clean and everything we needed with a good shower. Big shoutout to the owner / manager who was friendly and helpful during our stay.
Kathleen (10/5): - This is a lovely place to stay. The view is wonderful, nice little beach, clean pool, the room is comfortable and the staff is quite accomodating. I love the balcony for morning coffee. Its is not high end fancy if that is what you are looking for, but it is clean, comfortable and a great place to unwind and relax. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Wiarton.

Lisa (8/5): - Beautiful place and yard. Attentive host. Too cool for us, to swim, but the pool is inviting. Take note: there is only a microwave/wine fridge in use, a stand up freezer was available, but no coffee machine etc. and absolutely no option for food prep.
Jiaxiao (10/5): - Lakeview was amazing. Good cleanses and overall well maintained. Bed was a bit squeaky when I moved on it and mattress was a bit too hard. But that can be a personal preference.

Verified traveler (8/5): Waterview on the bay - I thought it was usual that they did not clean the room daily or make the bed or restock essentials and clean towels, had to empty my own waste basket and ran out of toilet paper, was told to ask for more as we checked out, to late.

Nicolas (8/5): - Very nice place. Clean pool. Backyard is nice to have a rest by the lake. Also you have a fire pit and one volleyball park. The VHS movie collection is super nice but we couldn't make it work in the bedroom sadly. For a short term I really enjoyed this Motel.
