• Matthew (6/5): - Modern, clean, good size rooms Could have been a bit more thoughtful for ADA. No sign saying the back door, where the disabled parking is, is open so I ended up parking out front and getting up a kerb to get in. Was given a non-ADA room upstairs very far from elevator. Doors did not have automatic opens. Nitpicks but indicative. Guests were extremely loud in corridors until late at night

Would stay there again when traveling through Haines AK. A very knowledgeable and helpful counter staff on morning of departure ((10/29/2025)
• 261chg (10/5): Clean rooms great staff. - One night stay before an early Ferry departure the next morning. Front desk worked to make my check in/check out easy despite being outside of their normal hours. Rooms look brand new and very clean. I left a bag behind and they made arrangements to get it to me in the next town. The staff was great.

Right on Main St and right behind the Highschool. Only thing if anything is there is not a shuttle to and from Ferry/Airport but still a 5 star experience

Super comfy beds and peace and quiet. We didn’t hear anyone else even though it was full occupancy! The full size fridge and kitchenette were exactly what we expected. The staff were Awesome and friendly!!Aspen Suites is my new GOTO place to stay in Haines!

• brenraefenton (10/5): Great rooms and perfect location - Nice room . Comfortable and well-maintained. It even had a kitchenette. It's also conveniently located for exploring downtown and shopping for necessities or souvenirs. The staff was really helpful too.

So knowing where to take out the garbage or walking down to get toilet paper really didn’t march the hotel. It is a beautiful clean room. So nice. But having to get my own toilet paper and walk with towels down the hall doesn’t really match the appearance of the hotel because it is so nice.

This place was absolutely perfect. Pros: Large suites with everything needed to hunker down. We had two queen beds, two cozy chairs, a desk/dining table with two chairs, two burner electric stovetop, coffee pot, full size microwave and fridge, and everything you need to cook/eat simple meals with. Very helpful! I thoroughly enjoyed lounging in my jammies making breakfast for the two of us. There's an on-site laundry room ($4 to wash and $4 to dry, per load and you can get quarters at the front desk). Conveniently located on the main street, its walkable to everything. Surprisingly quiet. Excellent customer service with friendly, hard working employees! Cons: It's pricier than the other option in town but you definitely get more amenities. No breakfast (because you have a kitchen kids). If you want to have a place more like home, this is the spot for you.

She attempted to continually tell me who I booked the reservation through which was not correct after I confirmed that through an outside party. We were double charged for our stay which we are now contesting.

When an unforeseen business conflict forced us to unexpectedly shorten our visit to Haines, the property manager, Deina Davis, went beyond the extra mile to accommodate our needs in a top-flight professional and gracious manner, despite the extra work and trouble we occasioned her. We are grateful for the help and the outstanding hospitality offered us in a great, well-situated property in charming Haines.

The staff is pleasant, rooms are spacious (and include a kitchenette), and the hotel is very quiet. It’s right across the street from a market and walkable to everything else in downtown Haines. The laundry room is an added bonus!

Dina, the General Manager, was incredibly professional and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. I also want to mention Christine and Josh, who along with the rest of the staff (whose names I unfortunately don’t recall), made my stay even more pleasant with their friendly and attentive service. I truly appreciate the hospitality and would gladly return. Highly recommended!

The bed was most comfortable, The only criticism might be the blackout curtains for a June stay were not as great as they could be, but we slept well non the less.

I also noticed two new charges from the hotel on my credit card this morning, I've left messages via email and phone and have yet to hear back about the new charges.. beware if you are using booking.com for this hotel and make sure you don't give them your credit card if you do

The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quite spacious. Perfect after a long drive. Would definitely recommend to fellow travellers.

• Odette (10/5): - Very Clean! Would definitely stay here again. Only thing I didn’t like was the sofa bed when it’s pulled out it gets in the way of the bathroom. And I was in the lower floor where the cars pass by and where people park on the side of the street.

Directly across the street from the grocer & sporting goods store. Minutes walk to the harbor, museums, etc. Rooms are spacious, spotless, comfy bed & furniture. Kitchenette with stovetop, microwave & fridge. Employees are all welcoming, friendly & helpful. Special shoutout to Christine at the front desk!!

If the desk runs out of quarters for the laundry, try the real laundrymat on the outskirts of downtown. The IGA grocery is not happy with requests forbquarters.
• kobig662 (10/5): Lovley hotel - Lovely hotel, centrally located on the main street of Haines. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. Our room faced the view, so it was very quiet. There is free tea and coffee available at reception anytime the reception is opened. The service from the staff was exceptional! My wife had an urgent medical issue and both the receptionist and the hotel manager did above and beyond to make sure my wife will get the full medical attention she needed. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and very enjoyed it
• Danielle (6/5): - The hotel is not staffed after 10pm. Our toilet broke at 10:15pm on first night. We called the energency number and no one answered. Never. We called for hours. We ended up jimmy rigging it to work with a spare keychain to connect the flusher As it broke off while still partially connected. We also found a moldy coffee filter packet in our coffee maker.. so that was gross.

Our cooler was low on ice, so the full-size refrigerator in the kitchenette was welcome. Ate our own food for breakfast to get on the road quickly next morning. Clean room with a tub, always bonus.
• VicPal (10/5): The BEST lodge in Haines Alaska! - The Aspen Suites Hotel in Haines, Alaska is OUTSTANDING! The 50+ rooms all have a kitchenette, kitchen ware & utensils, and the hotel is spotlessly clean and inviting. Parking is right outside of the door and the staff is more than helpful. They have an on-site laundry and work out room too. We lodged in Haines for four days. The hotel is “downtown” and within easy walking distance to the cruise ship dock, restaurants, library, a grocery store, and museums. 5star lodging!!

• kathleenf749 (2/5): Reservation Not Honored - After two long days on the road and a 12-hour drive the second day into Haines, I arrived to check in and was told that I had only booked one room. I showed the clerk my reservation and confirmation for two rooms and the credit card to hold my reservation was told they were full and there was only one room. I was told that I could “speak to the manager tomorrow about the mistake.” I insisted that the clerk contact the general manager but nobody got back to me. Zero action was made to find me another room in town. finally asked to be allowed to sleep on the floor of the meeting room as I had no place. Under what universe does a hotel not honor a booked and confirmed reservation and leave the stranded 73 year old guest to fend for herself in a town at night with no place to stay. The general manager the next morning was rude and offensive. She said they were busy and had four staff. No responsibility accepted for leaving me without accommodations.

• Celeste (4/5): - I would have given this property a much higher review, had it not been for the reception when we initially arrived. We were traveling for sports and arrived at the facility with one child and another parent who had more children with her. Immediately, before even checking in, the person at the desk was verbally abusive, citing an experience from a year ago with another group of kids. She spoke harshly and abruptly and the children felt very unwelcome. She went so far as to tell us that she has cameras throughout the hotel that she is able to look at/check from home and would know if the children became unruly. Thankfully, our experience with other staff throughout the weekend was very positive and they were helpful and beyond nice and very welcoming to all the children. I would not recommend this property for anyone visiting with children, particularly if they are there for sporting functions unless they can stomach being greeted by such rudeness.

Pet friendly room with outside exit close by. The guy doing the check in did not seem like he knew how to read. He took over 30 minutes to check me in. He had to call the manager for help, but before that he spent a long time staring at the screen with a scared look. I think he did not understand the screens, this may be due to being functionally illiterate. The manager stated he had been trained and his tag said he had worked there at least 3 months.

There was a hot water carafe in the lobby but the lobby was closed (gated) until 8 am, so I couldn't have tea first thing. Also we only had one packet of (caffeinated) coffee for a two day stay for two people. But otherwise everything was great.

Kitchen has all the necessary pots and pans you need to cook for longer stays. Nice exercise room. Fantastic coffee! Groceries store close by. Centralized in town for easy walking around the town.

• Joie (7/5): Clean comfortable place to stay. - Great location close enough to walk to most things in downtown Haines. Rooms were roomy and well stocked. It would have really helped to have a hook in the bathroom for your clothes and some hooks by the front door for coats.

The clerk actually texted me before our arrival to make sure our trip was going well and to find out when we would be checking in since they have limited hours for onsite staff. I definitely recommend this place if you're staying in Haines.
• jace0027 (10/5): Stay here - Nice rooms, large parking area, helpful staff. Very clean, walking distance from all you might need to grab while traveling, plenty of bald eagles just up the road, secure facility, they let me check in early with no drama. Haines is a Beautiful place.

Staff are very helpful, check-in experience was seamless Good location downtown, near restaurants and other points of interest. Alaska Marine Highway (ferry) terminal is 10 minutes away.

• H6429BGshawnb (8/5): If ever in Haines stay here - Large living space, included a kitchenette and utensils to cook with. Very convenient to a grocery store and a brewery. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a fitness room as well as laundry and dryer, both require quarters but staff will help you with it. Overall a very great experience
