- juanita (9/5): We would definiely stay here again and would recommend to friends. - The rooms were great! Very clean and we loved the location of the hotel. As well the maintainence man went out of his way and assisted us with our dead battery on my motorcycle. He was very polite and helpful! We wondered if there was a shortage of staff working on the day we had breakfast. We ended up getting our own menus and it took longer than expected for breakfast to arrive. Breakfast was good though.

- SUSHU (10/5): “A smooth, welcoming check-in experience that set the tone for a great stay. - The front desk service at this hotel left a very strong impression on me. From the moment I arrived, Sam at the front desk was extremely warm and welcoming. He proactively asked about my needs and patiently answered all my questions, making me feel genuinely valued. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with no unnecessary waiting. Throughout my stay, whenever I needed information about the surrounding area or had small requests, Sam responded quickly and maintained a consistently professional and attentive attitude, which made me feel very comfortable and at ease. It’s clear that great attention is paid to service quality, even in the smallest details. Overall, the service at this hotel exceeded my expectations. Sam, in particular, made a significant positive impact on my experience. I would definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

The drinking glasses were hidden behind the face towels. We were there on New Year's eve & were sharing a bottle of champagne. Because we didn't see the glasses we ended up drinking champagne out of coffee cups. Ordinarily using the coffee cups for drinking - no big deal, but in this case not so nice.

- Matt (6/5): - Staff are always nice and helpful. Building was reno’d a few years ago, but already feeling run down. Bathroom had black mold on ceiling of shower. Asked to be moved and staff was helpful. Unfortunately new room didn’t smell or feel clean. I used towels to sit on couch as it smelled like people had been living on it, and shower floor felt spongy underneather shower liner all around the drain. Property appears to need some time and money spent on fixing and needs upholstery cleaning. Great place just getting run down quickly.

- Ruth (4/5): - We booked and fully paid for our 4 night stay in an Ocean View room over 4 months in advance. However, when we checked-in just 40 minutes after check-in start time we were told that rooms were allocated on a ‘first come first served basis’ and that the only room now available was a restaurant roof view room. We were told that we could move after one night, but this was time wasting, inconvenient and disruptive to our holiday. When 24 hours later, we eventually spoke to the manager he admitted that the room we were initially given was generally only sold to ‘walk-ins’ and then only when no other room was available and the room was always shown to the guest before they booked them in. When challenged the manager said that they did not guarantee an Ocean View room, although that is exactly what Hotels.com sold to us and is clearly stated on our confirmation. He added that as his contract was with Hotels.com, he could not compensate us financially unless Hotel.com contacted him directly to complain! His attitude was very much “well you’ve got an Ocean View room now, so what’s the problem!” He further advised that had we booked directly with the hotel, that he would have given us a partial refund for the first night. Having looked at reviews of this hotel, our experience is clearly not unique. This is very sharp practice and we will certainly never stay here again and would discourage others from doing so too!

- Corinn (10/5): - Very nicely reno’d property. Proximity to the sea wall walk is excellent as it’s right across the street. We did not eat at the restaurant but it seemed busy enough. The property is noisy as it’s on hwy 101 but we had a 2nd floor ocean view and that makes up for the traffic noise. Great check in staff, no issues. Would stay again.

You can sit on the balcony and enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean. The hotel offers a fun event - Popsicle Happy Hour every day! We drive an EV and were able to charge it free on site! My only complaint was the front office staff could improve their customer service.

Staff were very nice and helpful. Room was updated and modern. Bed was comfortable. Patio faced the ocean with deck chairs to watch the beautiful sunset in the evening. Hotel is pet friendly. BBQ area with seating to cook your own meal.

- Jennifer (10/5): - The location was fantastic to the pier. There is a cross walk right in front of the hotel so is super helpful in order to cross the main coast hwy. We love the beach being so close it’s perfect. The pier is very cool for dock jumping on one side and crabbing and fishing on the opposite. We meet so many great people at the pier as well. Although there’s not much in Davis Bay, all you need for a little R&R is the beach and pier this is our second year returning for the summer and is definitely on our list for the future!

- Jay (10/5): Peaceful quiet,tranquil surroundings in a lovely oceanside hotel. We will return!! - I/we always love staying with OveanSide Hotel just a beautiful location and so peaceful. The lack of "room servive" everyday "maid service" cleaning of the rooms everyday was not 100% Beds not properly remade and bathrooms not cleaned properly. At teast too the perfect room we entered when we first arrived. So that could use some working in. Especially for.what we pay to stay there.
- Nancy (8/5): Would Return Despite Issue - Location, great. Renovation/room/bathroom updates, great. Option to dine on site, great. As we readied ourselves to check out I became aware that a jar of higher end face cream was not on the bathroom counter. I use this every morning. I checked the immediate area and the waste basket, just in case. No luck. The room was straightened while we were out the previous day. I didn’t notice the jar as another product is used for PM routine. I made mention of this at check out. The person I spoke with did reach out to housekeeping, which I didn’t understand. The jar was not missing or misplaced. The jar was gone. The only other person (s) in our room was housekeeping. I will always believe the jar was removed from our guest room. I think the person I tried to explain this to was defensive and not remotely sympathetic. He had made up his mind and my story did not sit well with him.

Their shampoo and condition was fantastic as well. I would go back to this location without hesitation.
- cara (8/5): - Beautiful view of the ocean from the room. There is a road between hotel and ocean so there is noise of you leave patio door open. No big deal to us. 2 great restaurants and a cafe right next door/on property. Bathroom is a barn door style so not great at sealing off bathroom. King room was a great size however TV could have been a bit larger.

The property has no sound dampening between rooms and the people above us were stomping around until 11pm the first night and until 1am the next. We got so little sleep which made our mtn biking trip a lot less fun :( I would not stay here again. It's also on the main road which is now super busy all times of day. Staff were friendly, but for the price we paid I would 100% stay somewhere else.
