- Giuseppe (10/5): - Everything was perfect. We also got us a Spa and Excursions package on our arrival day. We enjoyed every day of our stay at the Kiwengwa Beach Resort.
- Pontus (2/5): Probably the worst booking we’ve ever made. - If you have booked, rebook. If you are thinking about booking, rethink. I must issue a warning as this might ruin your vacation. This is a disco-club hotel for age 60+ and nothing else. We have never left a hotel early before, this was a first. At first glance, it looks like a 5-star resort, nice environment but rooms are ok but not what you expect for the price. We booked the swim-up suite ocean view. Small strip of water which is not connected to any of the main pools. Clean though, I’ll give them that. Arriving here was one of the worst hotel experiences of our lives. Our problem was the constant dance music. During daytime there is a DJ screaming in the microphone (not the good kind) nonstop, so no relaxing wherever you are on the premises. Our room was 150 meters away from the bar but we heard everything with doors closed. The music is extremely loud constantly, and we tried to sleep at 9.30 pm with earplugs, that didn’t help. The music kept pounding through earplugs, and it sounded like a techno-festival (which we at times enjoy but not at a 5 star resort). At 10.45 pm we called the reception and asked about the volume, they apologised and said “we will check”. 11.15 pm I went there to see what was happening and the bar (close to the reception) had 30 people screaming to ABBA and they said “sorry we will close shortly”. This would be absolutely fine if they actually mentioned this on hotels.com. So we feel obliged to issue a warning about it.
- Edward (2/5): - The ac in the room is pretty ancient and super loud; difficult to sleep with the AC one. The whole place need an update and the all you can eat Buffett food was sub quality.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The food was excellent in the the african restaurant and the seafood restaurant. The main one was all in all mediocre. The breakfast was also dissapointing. The fruits were good!
- Clare (10/5): - We have just had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is huge but so tastefully done and built in a way that if you want to find quiet you can, if you want beach you can, if you want activties there are many on offer, it has something for everyone. The rooms are lovely and it is incredible to believe that you are in a country where so many people do not have power in their homes or running clean water and yet this hotel has 3 beautiful and immaculate pools, as well as numerous rooms with a swim up pool. We were fortunate to have one of these and loved it, it was so lovely. The staff need a special mention, nothing is ever too much trouble, they are just the lovliest of people and then there is the super animation team providing water aerobics, beach parties and volleyball for those who seek something to do. The hotel seems to be a destintaion in particulalry for French and Polish tourists and so there were both French and Polish speakers in the animation team, as well as English of course. This was a brilliant hotel.

Some points of interest: Cleaning fitness room and equipment. A number of devices are also broken. Follow-up of reported malfunctions is not yet well developed

- Gorm (6/5): Ægypten kan det samme - billigere og bedre - Værelserne fremstår trætte, problemer med aircon vat et problem flere af gæsterne talte om. Vores løb i vand og larmede urimeligt meget. Selv efter 3 serviceforsøg blev det kun tåleligt. Buffet var under forventning for et 4-stjernet hotel. Ikke meget kød at vælge imellem og virkelig ringe juicer. Lyspunkter er deres pools, placering på stranden med god adgang til surfing, der er rent og pænt. Og de har et ret godt gym. Maskinerne er dog delvist ødelagt, og de medarbejdere der arbejder i deres spa/gym, laver ikke meget andet end at kigge på TikTok Og slutteligt er det håbløst de ikke kan finde de ud af at fjerne skrald på deres strand, når de har fuldtidsbemanding på stranden.

We didn’t visit the other 2 pools… why leave perfection! I wish we could have stayed longer. Two daisy was not enough!

- Mikael (8/5): Lovely resort but not perfect - Great facilities. Rooms, pools, etc, etc top notch and a beautiful place. Food looked good, but really rather bad. Not sure I’ve ever seen somebody mess up grilled crabs or lobster to the point they were inedible. Would not recommend all inclusive and all meals here. Indifferent service relative to anywhere else we went I. Kenya and Tanzania. Resort largely caters to European tour operators and little in it I guess for staff or management to provide anything but bare minimum service.

Food at the buffet was very basic and underspiced on many of the days. Nevertheless, we liked the location and how quiet the beach was. Was amazing taking walks without feeling surrounded by many people. Staff were great, friendly all the time and very helpful.

Our concern would be to stay her for two weeks and have the all inclusive becuase the food was not so good. Drinks where good.

Unfortunately zero follow through on requests for room to be cleaned and plates removed. I found more plates on steps leading up to my room after returning from beach and dinner even when i asked reception to send someone to clear up. Housekeeping is under performing, they simply make the bed and take dirty towels, nothing more. No sweeping, mopping, cleaning desk or counters, no enhanced cleaning for covid. No cleaning wash basin or leaving new towels, i had dirty towels on arrival and requested new ones. Food & drinks are VERY bland, same buffet items both nights I stayed. I highly recommend only getting bed & breakfast then pay for your dinner at the a la carte seafood restaurant onsite. Their seafood is 10/10. Hotel provides great activities and exercise classes throughout the day to keep guests entertained, a good spa and gym is available. Wonderful pools, beautiful beach & plenty sunbeds provided by hotel. The sea water is warmer/same as air temperature, and in December summer! so truly a great beach experience! Note: no hotels have private beaches in Zanzibar, beach is public property & rightfully so. There are security guards to help keep order though, so perfectly safe. Overall I'd definitely not return anytime soon to this hotel, it echos of a great bygone era that has sadly passed. Simple things like cleaning and decent food is absent, but easy and inexpensive to elevate. I hope they'll do something about this.

- Sarra (10/5): MUST STAY HERE! - The resort was absolutely amazing. We stayed in the Luxury Suites (Ocean View), and we loved it. The suite was spacious, with a jacuzzi on the balcony overlooking the ocean. We purchased an all-inclusive pass, which included adult beverages, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The resort staff were friendly, and anytime we had an issue, they would go above and beyond to remedy this. We were there for Christmas, and they had the most lovely xmas celebration and dinner for everyone. In the subsequent days, there were fire shows, parties, special dinners, and even a Masaai tribal performance. This is one of the best hotel experiences I've received. Thank you to the staff, who were all amazing!

Dinner was out of this world with a variety of dishes. resort has facilities for entertainment which accommodates everyone. - Molly (10/5): A relaxing bit of Paradise! - We absolutely loved this resort, and switched from our previous accommodation so we could join our friends here! From the amazing staff (special shoutout Saeed!) to the great food, this property was gorgeous and 100 percent worth the cost, which was higher than we'd wanted to pay initially. It was so relaxing and safe, with security to make sure we could leave our belongings wherever we wanted as we switched from pool to ocean and back again.

We just didn’t realize that there would be lots of music for most of the day bc it is all-inclusive so that wasn’t great but our own fault for not thinking of it. Our 5-year-old loves the beach, ocean and pools. Food was good for everybody.

- Samantha (10/5): - Amazing hotel, great food and location. The tide goes out a long way so swimming at the beach isn't the best all day but the pool is perfect. Drinks are a little expensive but you can buy them from locals on the beach.

Wifi: Great in the reception only, if you pay 15$ it's great everywhere. Bed: Great Pillows: Great Structure: Good (suite with ocean view). There is some problems like bad smell, no windows (only doors), shower keeps the water on floor Breakfast : Good, big variety of food and find some differences between the days. Fruits and all the breads / cookies no fresh and no that tasty. The other food is good! Taps: Great Shower: pressure is ok, one night without hot water, Great size AC: Great, also have big fan Clean: Great Bugs: There are some.. but that's how zanzibar is.. at nights they do bugs spray and you have bed protection Smells & air: Bad.. keep fan and ac always on Pool: Great and clean Ocean: Great, perfect view and seconds to walk Bonuses: Lots of fun!! Pool games and volleyball with Ali and Shabi (amazing animation team!). great stuff! The Guest Relation Ludmila is amazing and all the atmosphere is very good Definitely come back again!
- from london (6/5): Friendly staff but hotel not 5* - The hotel has a great location and nice layout but it's facilities are very basic. There was always something that did not work but given that we were in Zanzibar, this may be the norm. The food was mediocre. However, the staff were lovely and made the overall experience very good and we would definitely go back to Zanzibar and possibly even the same hotel.
- Richard (8/5): Beautiful and clean grounds but watch your bill!!! - The property and grounds were very very nice on an amazing beach. The food was average and a large crowd whenever dinner was opened up. Tip: wait until 8:00pm to eat dinner! Also, most employees, management included, do not even know what's going on. For instance: there were signs all over for Free Pizza Maragarita, 2 sangria drinks, and 2 vegetables free for all guests except those on Bed and Breakfst plan. I tried to order it several times and no one knew what I was taking about or was charged every time for it. Even when checking out, and the sign was right AT the reception desk, no one knew and said it wasn't valid. Why have the sign!?!?! I was charged $28 for something advertised as FREE. I liked the property a lot and loved the very very clean grounds and beautiful beach. But until management changes I won't be coming back. No one seemed to know their job.
