Guest Reviews
- climarz (10/5): RECOMMENDED HOSTEL IN EL NIDO - very good location, accomodating staff, clean and spacious bed, free breakfast, near to town, i was comfortable with my stay, this was my second time staying on the same hostel.
- loubnag374 (10/5): Good hostel! - Lovely place and good staff! The beds are really big, lots of bathrooms and they have a pool.
Online it looks like they don’t have curtains but they do!
Thanks for having me!
- 833jaddm (10/5): GREAT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE! - Front desk staffs are accommodating and have a pleasing personality. Communicate well and always greet with a smile. Respectful and helpful.
- beshyw (10/5): Excellent for a Hostel - Amazing Hostel with Amazing Staff Keep it Up. All staff are Friendly and very accommodating. The design fits only For those with Fashion. All Cocktail Drinks always look amazing.
- giampaoloc411 (10/5): Unforgettable Experience. - The experience at the hostel was amazing. I has some trouble during the travel and the staff help me to fix everything.
One spefial mention to Lloyd and Ellaine. They are amazing. More than staff member: helpful and lovely friend!
5 stars minimum!
- YokoN164 (10/5): Best Hostel Ever - I have traveled more than 60 countries, and it is not very often that you come across a nice place to stay that treats you like family and that you will remember and miss even after you return home. This hostel is definitely one of them. The staff were all incredibly friendly and always had a smile for my active boys. I feel lucky to have found this hostel, which made our trip to El Nido a wonderful one. Must try their breakfast (especially the live kitchen omelets) and the affordable BBQ dinners!
- jeielo2025 (10/5): A good place to stay in - Very accommodating and the staff are kind. The rooms are clean and it is just near the town. They also have night activities for their guests
- Danilo (4/5): Overall, just no - Lots of small things that added up to this not being a nice experience. Maybe because it is low season, but zero hostel vibes. There were actually families staying with small kids that would literally start screaming and shouting at 7am and won't stop. Ants everywhere, to the point that it was impossible to eat some of the things at breakfast. Cockroaches in the room. Staff asking me over breakfast to rate the hotel online with a QR code, and then it actually turned out to be their bar. Did not enjoy my stay and would not recommend.
- Taylah (10/5): - We loved our stay here
- CHUNG HANG (8/5): Lovely Hostel, Excellent Staff, With Minor Issues - Positives
Really nicely decorated hostel
Room had A/C and fan
Spacious dorms with plenty of sockets and storage
Bed had privacy curtains, seemed to be extra wide and were very comfortable
Excellent breakfast and staff will cook pancakes and omelettes fresh.
Excellent location only 5 minutes from El Nido centre and is quiet
Staff are excellent and impeccably polite, helpful and courteous
Negatives
Socket can be difficult to reach for upper bunk
Upper section of walls have window facing hallway, which was lit at night
The shared bathrooms are generally clean, but needed to be cleaned more often
Too many of the soap/shampoo dispensers in the showers were broken`
- theorangepassport (8/5): Decent Spot for Quiet Accommodation - Stayed for 4D3N in a 4 Bed Mixed Dormitory for S$32.92 (After Voucher Discount).
Pros:
- Room: Clean and decent. Plenty of space to open the bags and pack as need be. - - Laundry: There is a free washing machine & spin dryer (Rudimentary, hence it will take awhile / don't expect your clothes to dry 100%)
- Breakfast: Breakfast is included and decent
- Location: Close to the Main Street but far enough away that the Hostel is relatively quiet
- Front Desk Tours / Bookings: Front Desk can answer all your questions and help with any tour bookings. You just need to book with them the night before
Cons:
- Noisy: The rooms have a "mesh window" hence if people are noisy in the corridor, you will hear them in the room
- Airflow: Airconditioning is decent but not very strong hence will have to turn on both the aircon and the fan. Once you close your curtains, you won't feel it
- Humidity / Laundry Area: Given the humidity, the items don't actually dry properly in the laundry area. Suggest to bring your own clothes line / hangers and hang them in the room as it will dry much faster
- Hot Water / Showers: There is a shared bathroom (Which was much cleaner and hotter water) than the ladies' only bathrooms (Which had no hot water when I tried)
Would recommend if you're looking for a quiet place to stay
- MattYas82 (6/5): Hostel with a friendly and professional staff…but with humidity and bed bugs issues. - I would first to start with the positive:
- the hotel is very conveniently located right outside the city center of El Nido which makes it so convenient and accessible without being too exposed to the inconveniences of the night life downtown such as crowd and noise.
- the staff is professional, efficient and friendly. I asked for different information and services and they were able to deliver it right away.
- the common areas are open air and well maintained. You can lounge or work there.
- they offer a nice free breakfast every morning.
Now about the negative:
- the place is extremely humid! You can feel it because it’s under the tree and it’s not very windy so the humidity accumulates quickly there. I could even see water falling from the walls of the room and dormitory building.
- it’s full of mosquitoes so you better use mosquito repellent right away when you step outside your door room. I could see clouds of mosquitoes waiting just outside the bedrooms.
- the room are quite dark, very humid as I mentioned earlier to the point that the bedsheets and pillows were wet. It doesn’t feel very clean as well so the atmosphere of the rooms is not very pleasant I must say. I understand this is a hostel but they could definitely improve that aspect. The bed felt dirty and they only provide a blanket that felt so humid and dirty. I would like also to raise a concern that I was bitten by bed bugs. This is not the responsibility of the hostel as bed bugs usually travel from one guest to another. But the fact the mattresses are probably not frequently inspected and because of the accumulation of humidity, it’s a perfect environment for the proliferation of bed bugs. I had a strong allergic reaction the last night I stayed there. Usually there is an incubation period of a couples of days. I woke up in the middle of the night and a very itchy feeling all over my legs. It was awful. It could NOT have been mosquitoes because I was constantly using a mosquito repellent and spray before sleeping and before stepping out of the room. After checking out of the hostel, I started to develop an allergic reactions with rushes all over my legs, neck, hands and ankles (basically of the body parts that were exposed while in bed). The itchiness is so strong and last for days which is radically different than with mosquitoes. The look of the bites is also different. It’s smaller, it’s very near and aligned to one another, like a cluster of bites here and there. Absolutely awful. I emailed the hostel to let them know about the issue right after I developed my allergic reaction few hours after checking out but they never replied. (I posted a pic of what I’m still experiencing after 48h in my neck. And this is the same but x10 on my legs, hands and ankles).
- 154kristiner (10/5): Aesthetically Relaxing Stay - The hotel has this aesthetically relaxing ambience in every space or amenities they had. We love the free cocktail upon arrival and while waiting for our booked room to be available since we arrived earlier than our booked time. The staff are very accommodating. Next time we will try to stay longer so that we will be able to experience the movie night sesh. Overall we had a great stay here!
- lucilalilu (10/5): Best hostel in el Nido - The staff is lovely and helpfull. The hostel is beautifull, all good design. It has many common areas to relax or meet other travelers. Swimming pool, bar, many decks and a big garden. The rooms are big and has A/C and fan, lockers and personal lights Everything is clean at all times.
- W6523GSlur (10/5): The best hostel in El Nido - I loved the place. Staff is lovely. It has many common areas to chill or meet other travelera. The swimming pool with bar, many outside areas, everythings is beautifull. Rooms are big and comfty with A/C and fan. You have personal light and lockers. I definitly recommend it.
- beaalpay (10/5): Affordable 🤝 Excellent Service - It is so affordable yet the service is so premium. Buffet breakfast is so good, highlight is the egg and pancake station. We stayed for 3 nights here, and it was so worth it and a perfect choice, given it is near town proper yet the atmosphere is not too crowded.
- sami (10/5): - Excellent stay
- Vacation02003976317 (8/5): Awesome place - Booked a private room. Good breakfast. Great staff. Highly recommended. It has everything you need from booking island tours to renting scooters to laundry. Bring ear plugs as the AC is loud. Would come back again. Close to shops in El nido town
- vitav2019 (10/5): It was exactly what I needed - Great location and a lovely place! The staff is amazing, and while there weren’t big parties, there’s a nice common space to relax and connect. They arrange all kinds of tours, likely you go with same-minded people. Plus, the breakfast is good. Thank you!
- Adratos (10/5): The place to be - Nice quiet location but right beside all the fun. Amazing staff who were friendly and helpful. All the facilities were clean very well maintained. Breakfast was amazing every day. Possibly the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at, highly recommend.
- mrc282 (10/5): this hostel get it - good location, great connectivity (fast wifi with backup wifi, plus generator in case or power outage), good breakfast with freshly squeezed juice and egg station daily
private room is small but has everything you need. ensuite shower is great.
there is a rudimentary washing machine, for simple washing. but the problem is getting the clothes dry in humidity
- adrianlL674ZT (10/5): Best Hostel - The best hostel I ever stayed. Close to the Main Street but far to stay nice and calm. The breakfast here will change your life, so good!!
The accommodations are super clean and new, the bathrooms are kept clean all day long and same with the dorms
- X8376NVaa (8/5): Very good experience - very good staff , very helpful whatever i have requested, it was provided! Fair breakfast included. Safe. Nice bar/restaurant and a pool. Only the noice from outside is too loud , however personally i could sleep. It depends on the person. Aircon is a bit loud as well
- marjellin (10/5): amazing stay - amazing experience at the spin hostel! it was my first time experience hostel life and spin made it a great one for us; buffet breakfast and pool, together with bookable tours through the hostel itself. they have a nice lounge as well just to hang out :) thank you!
- Voyager36677165235 (10/5): Very nice! - The hostel was by far the highest quality we have stayed at on our journey so far. The breakfast was excellent as well. Additionally, Jonathan’s hospitality was extremely accommodating and humorous. Thank you for everything. It was a blast!
- Traveler12096444922 (10/5): Thank you for helpful stay and especially Sheri - My stay at Spin hostel was exception due to one personen mainly, Sheri!
I had a malfunctioning phone, meaning I needed a lot of help for practical things.
Sheri was always super helpful and helped me to arrange all my things needed for travel. She was always friendly, welcoming and caring. She made my stay pleasant
- J1990JLmiguelc (10/5): Amazing hostel. We love you Jonathan x - Extremely well priced for what you get. The hostel was clean, beds were comfy and the staff were superb. Jonathan the receptionist was a fantastic staff member who helped us with hostel related things and enquiries outside of the hostel. Couldn’t recommend more.
- Q4904WTchristopherb (10/5): Relaxing hostel in central El Nido - Beautiful hostel with great rooms and comfy beds. Clean shower and toilet spaces and nice open common area as soon as you walk past reception. The swimming pool is very nice, right beside the outdoor bar. Staff were very helpful and welcoming, especially Jonathan, he helped show us around and gave us some great info on the hostel and El Nido
- angela (8/5): - Bellissimo ostello di design.
Colazione ottima e personale molto gentile.
Si trova in una zona buia per camminare a piedi la sera, consiglio di portare una torcia o girare con un mezzo.
Tornerei molto volentieri
- A (10/5): - Nice place close the town
- Laura (10/5): Just amazing - Amazing as always - my go-to place in El Nido without a doubt!
- Laura (10/5): Epic place, great staff, comfy beds & rooms! - The design of this hotel is actually beautifully put together, the staff is super friendly, and the rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds and great locker configuration! The toilets are spacious (including the showers that have space to get changed). Would 100% stay again!
- Kriscadel (10/5): - the staff was awesome. always with a smile on their face and super approachable! ❤️ highly recommended despite it being a few mins from the beach
- Jose (10/5): - The first day I had a problem with my assigned room, but Sheri and Angelo were very kind to solve my problem. Very good location and facilities. The beds are very comfortable. I think they should put curtains on the bunk beds to give more privacy to the guests and also because they have mix rooms.
Ville absolutt bodd her igjen.
- Marietta (8/5): - Good breakfast, friendly staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hostel can't fault - Hostel was located in walking distance to the centre and had a great and filling breakfast. Would definitely stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): 굿 - 도미토리를 썻는데 좋앗습니다
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place is more than a hostel. It's the jewel in el nidos Crown. Amazing staff. Super cozy comfy rooms. Great location. Tasty breakfast and great bar. This place is truly sensational
- TZU HUI (10/5): 飯店活動不錯 - 飯店晚上都有活動, 可以去體驗一下。
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice rooms, but music in the nights was really loud. We Could Not sleep
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a unique hostel around the area. Within walking distance to the center, and they have activities every night
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The best hostel in El Nido!! Went to look around and we were positive it was the best place to stay at in town.
- Marie-Michele (10/5): - Hostel très bien et propre. Les déjeuners sont excellents.
- Julia (10/5): Look no further if you’re on a budget - A wonderful, friendly and convenient place to stay in El Nido. Very helpful organizing island hopping trips or other activities. Always very polite and friendly. Breakfast is well balanced and delicious. Our pillows and beds were very comfortable and air con worked perfectly. Also wonderful shower with hot water.Great common areas. Thank you!
- Jaehwa (8/5): 생각보다 괜찮음^^ - 콘센트도 많고, 거치 주머니도 많고, 짐보관도 용이함. 큰 수건 하나만 있어서...작은 수건 몇개, 옷걸이 두어개 가져가서 잘 사용했습니다...시내와는 걸어 다닐만 하지만 좀 더울때는^^;
방은 꽉차지만 서로 마주 칠일도 없고요...공용샤워, 화장실 괜찮습니다. 조식도 무난...저녁에 바에서 맥주는 괜찮습니다.
- Maria Paola (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and approachable. We liked that we can use the washing machine. We used it to dry our clothes after island hopping tour. We loved the breakfast specially the omelette. Location is a five minute walk to town and the port. The room is a bit small if you have luggages and doesn't have enough space to hang your clothes. No fridge or TV in the room, but you won't be needing it since your probably tired after whole day of activities, however there's a tv and fridge in the common area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location is very convinent, close to Rizal avenue close to Tiki Bar and 24 HR jellibee and Dukin donuts, 8 mins walk to the SM mall. Easy to get Jeepney to Robinson mall.
The front desk staffs are very friendly and helpful.
However, cleanness of the room floor definitely should get improved, every day we step on the floor bare foot, there were dust. I saw the cleaning staff carrying broom, so guess the did sweep the floor. Hotel should provide them mop for better cleanness.
- Amirparviz (10/5): phenomenal - Great location, spacious dorms , comfy beds , value for money and the most amazing staff ever (Mae, Anna, Kat ...) high speed wi-fi (which is rare in El Nido). I would definitely stay here again.
please bare in mind that you should book in advance as it is always fully booked.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the manager dondon and his team were very friendly and hospitable.
i love their bar that sold rather affordable beer too.
they organise daily activities in the evening and you get to meet fellow travellers.
my private room was clean and the premises had a very hipster feel to it.
there is a daily breakfast buffet spread, i love their pancakes.
highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hostel is very cozy and nice. Breakfast good and the room was nice but it needs maintenance and the bed for a coupe is small.
- Myra (6/5): - We had a very small bed - more like a single than a double. The room was downstairs in the daylight basement with construction outside the window. There was no top sheet on the bed - only a blanket - washed how often? The room was super small, bathroom was adequate. The breakfast was good - they cooked omelettes to order!
- Dante (10/5): - The staff was extremely helpful and helped us book the best trips while we were in El Nido. Breakfast was also delicious. Thank you!
- Melvin (10/5): Best hostel in El Nido - Such an amazing hostel! Don and Patti are the best! Great wifi and an amazing breakfast. Had the best time here.
- Spilla (10/5): Very nice hostel. safe, clean and very reasonable. - Great place to stay in El Nida. Plenty of tour options at reception and the beer is cheap and cold :)
- G (10/5): Best Hostel for couples - Great stay, even for couples, we stayed in a private room, bed is small but do-able. Room is small but enough space for everything u need. Bathroom is great, huge shower with hot water, AC is great, generator kept it running even in the power outages. Breakfast was nice. Loved the location, on main road but outside main center of town, easy walk into center of town though. They can book your tours for u too which is convenient.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the location of the place is very strategic. away from all the crowd, but still near to all the food stalls and bars.
- Robert (8/5): Really incredible hostel vibe - We were lucky that they had availability. We booked a single room and it was more like a hotel than a hostel, the vibe was awesome there and was really exciting adventurous feel with an appreciation for design/style which is appreciated since it's not over the top backpackery.
- thandazile (10/5): Great location and comfort - Excellent stay with easy check in and great breakfast.Hostel is modern and located in great part of El Nido will definitely stay here again. We has private room it was comfortable and very clean
- Tino (8/5): Nicest hostel in El Nido - This hostel is the nicest one I know of in Philippines. It is also a bit pricier that other hostels but it offers better services and accommodation.
Breakfast is included and is very good. They also have some special night like bbq night. Common areas are very nicely designed and the building is surrounded with nature.
An awesome place to stay in El Nido.
- Alysha (10/5): Best Stay! - One of the best hostels we’ve ever stayed at!
The service was absolutely amazing and the cleanliness was wonderful
- Peter (10/5): Best hostel I've stayed in - They are the best
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very good hostel - My wife and I had a great time in Spin Hotel, nice staffs e clean place. Strong recommended this place.
Just one small thing, in my last night my air con stops.
When I come back to El Nido 100% we will stay in Spin Hotel.
Kaue and Fernanda
- Drew (6/5): Not for us. - The staff is great and extremely helpful and the breakfast, especially the pancakes, is amazing.
The pictures on the website however, dont quite match what you actually get. The private rooms feel a bit small and aren't as bright and clean. Also, we found the rooms damp regardless of the exhaust fan, ceiling fan or AC constantly running. The final notable point about the room were the ants. We had two private rooms booked and both had an ant issue.
Pros:
-Awesome staff
-Great breakfast. PANCAKES!!!
-Cozy common areas
Cons:
-Dark and damp/moist rooms
-Ant issues in the rooms
-Uncomfortable beds
- Nicolson (10/5): Worth Staying For - The best backpacker accommodation. And hey the service was beyond compare.
- Jiany (2/5): Got sick from the food - The Hostel is very nice and clean and staff is very friendly, however, I got sick from the breakfast they offer. I was vomitting from bad eggs during the night which also ruined a whole day of valuable time in el nido.
Also, the wifi is terrible and not offered in the rooms, which sucks when that's where you have to spend your time because you're sick.
The washing machine is very bothersome to use and clothes didn't dry within 3 days. Dryer is not provided.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay, staff was informative, friendly and welcoming. Rooms were kept clean at all times-only complaint was that the rooms could feel stuffy at times even with the air conditioner and fan on, however, our stay was still very pleasant. Would recommend this place to all visitors of El Nido!
- Gavin (10/5): - We stayed in a private room and it was perfect for our stay, great location with really helpful and friendly staff
- Martins (8/5): Modern, but... - it's for youngsters.
Pros:
- this place stands out in ElNido, because it actually has internet in the lobby;
- modern, nice hotel;
Cons:
- rooms are micro, which means air-con might be too strong;
- no wardrobes, no fridge in the room;
- booked double room - bed is way too tiny for couple. Room would be way too tiny for double bed;
- breakfast does not include any kind of meat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything is perfect except a slight improvement on the laundry service will be recommended! I highly recommended for staying!
- Joyce Rucel P. (10/5): letsgoforaspin - very comforatable and relaxing. breakfast is good to. i love the egg station and unlimited coffee
- Heather (10/5): Wonderful place! - I would definitely stay there again! Rooms are clean, beds are comfy and bathrooms are clean as well. And there's hot water for your shower! Also the breakfasts and group activities are a added bonus to an already great place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Super fun Hotel in a fun little beach town - We had so much fun at this Hotel, the people staying there was also very friendly. Like family. The staff booked the tours for us. So much fun island hopping, big boat and also a great picnic included! The town is small & we felt very safe walking around. Plenty of foreign tourists. Be sure to dine on the beach, beautiful view.
- kat (8/5): Amazing hostel - Amazing place for the price.
Great people and friendly staff.'
Rooms were clean and maintained.
Walking distance to restaurant and markets.
Only downside is the wi ru is very bad and only works in the reception area.
- Valerie (10/5): Large, clean and relatively quiet hostel - Hostel was super chic and found my room and bathroom to be very clean and comfortable. The AC worked great. Hot water was always available. Breakfast was fantastic, with made to order omelettes and pancakes! The wi-fi was not great though - only available in common areas but even there I had trouble connecting and very slow speed. However, the staff was friendly and the place was nice. El Nido is a small town so even though the hostel is on the edge of town, you can walk to the other side of town in about ten minutes. I would recommend this hostel.
- Astrid (2/5): A bit overrated - Spin Hostel looks and feels like a cheap chain hotel. It is clean, has functional showers with hot water and you get a nice white bed to sleep in. Design wise it is nothing special and in regard to the community I found the vibes at the OMP place that I tried afterwards in El Nido way more social. If you have the extra money to pay twenty dollars, go for it. But if you don't, rest assured that you are not missing out on anything here.
- Mai (6/5): Peaks & ... - Where should I start? Bring bug spray because the the lounge/kitchen area is open to the outdoors. Cool layout and big communal bathrooms. Staff were always helpful & nice. Breakfast was good but I didn't eat everything because ants were everywhere around the fruits. Wifi was pretty bad and would work near the reception only. I liked that the hostel provides daily activities. Like a live band, BBQ, & sunset swimming. An inconvenience I had was they made me change rooms my 2nd night and then change again to my original room the 3rd night. It was annoying and I found out it was to accommodate another guest because they wanted a lower bunk. Also they ran out of key cards so I didn't have one for the day and had to leave the door open so I can get in and out. Overall I would stay again. The bunk beds were bigger than the normal twin size and the rooms were comfortable.
- Alven (10/5): Generous and Luxurious Hostel - I came in the hostel around 2AM from PPC, the guard offered me to stay in the sofa for me to be able to rest since my official check-in time is still at 12NN. They offered me a free breakfast though it was not yet my official check-in time and I truly value that act of generosity. The staffs are very kind and helpful. The hostel rooms are very clean and spacious even the beds. They have many shower rooms, comfort rooms and lavatories. It's really a great value for money. I booked in advance via hotels.com so I was able to avail discounts and that made my solo travel very satisfying. If you're going to El Nido, stay at SPIN Designer Hostel. It's a perfect place for backpackers and group travelers. #letsgoforaspin
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Really good budget choice in El Nido. Very nice breakfast. Unfortunately no wifi in rooms. Great to have a washing machine.
There were quite a few insects in common/dining area but rooms were clean. Staff is very friendly!
- Carl-Linus (10/5): Awesome hostel, it even beats the hotels around! - This new hostel will give you double sized bunk beds! Waterfall showers good wifi etc. the standard is very high! Oh and the free breakfast with eggs on order, pancakes bread fruits etc. is awesome!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent stay. Awful wifi - Staff is friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. Well designed hostel.
My one complaint is the wifi. Its only available in the lobby and if you were planning on getting work done while traveling, good luck. Its slow and unreliable even in the lobby. This means you need to sit in the humidity of El Nido to work on your laptop, with bugs constantly landing on you. When your room has aircon and you could just work in there. I get that they are trying to get people to meet each other this way, but the lobby looks like 30+ people all staring at their phones.
- brody (10/5): Great price and convenient - Very clean. Hot water and AC worked. Breakfast was great. Location is walking distance to everywhere in El Nido which is pretty small so everywhere is within walking distance. Would stay again!
- Simon (2/5): Hostel not Hotel! - This is an chic trendy upmarket hostel built in an urban industrial style and so definitely not a hotel so bare that in mind when choosing your accommodation and expectations.
However the accommodation was clean and functional and served it's purpose. They have laundry facilities but it's just one washing machine (for such a big place that is rediculous!) that you can only use from 8am till 9pm so don't get your hopes up!
It's right in the heart of El Nido so is walkable to hundreds of bars and restaurants (ArtCafe recommended) and very much a backpackers paradise if that's what you crave but definitely go on the island hopping trips it's well worth it and spectacular.
Staff are very friendly, efficient and organise nighttime activities for guests like video karaoke and bbq's and trips.
Wifi was a bit slow and unpredictable and only available in the common areas which was a pain.
Breakfast was available in the common area and was basic and simple hostel style.
If you are used to hostel style trips then its highly recommended and probably currently the best place to stay for this type of accommodation.
- Colin (8/5): - Our stay at Spin was overall awesome. There was some issues with the water cleanliness while we were there. The entire system had seemingly feacel contaminations, which left us unable to use the water for an entire day.
The staff was very helpful in suggesting sight seeing options and educating its guest about the Philippines.
The double room was spacious enough for two, but could use shelving as there was inadequate space for baggage and clothing.
Social atmosphere was great with many events to do with other hostel guests. A place for improvement is the wifi availability and quality. Wifi was only found in common areas which resulted in all guests being antisocial on their phones. A very unfriendly atmosphere to be a part of.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hostel especially for introverts - This was my first time staying in a hostel in a shared dorm and I was a little bit worried as I tend to prefer having my own space; but if you are like me, I cannot recommend this hostel enough.
The dorms are not overcrowded (mine only had 4 beds in it) and are quite large with great storage space. The beds are a fair distance away from each other, giving the impression that you have your own space and you have your own light and shelfing unit.
Major benefits in my option were the staff who were really active in getting to know all guests (from the first day all staff knew and remembered my name) and the in house activities that were available, which is great if you get bored of island hopping or beach bumming. I did a bike ride to Las Cabanas view deck which was awesome and was very cheap. The hostel also do regular barbecues and other activities and actively introduce travellers to each other, which may be helpful for the more introverted traveller.
Breakfast was great with a large selection and you can choose how you would like your eggs done. Drinking water is provided all day.
The hostel was very clean, the bathrooms were cleaned regularly and the room was cleaned every day.
It was really easy to meet new people with the communal dining and their is no pressure to purchase dinner etc. at the hostel. The hostel has a fridge and microwave for all guests to use so you can purchase from outside, store and reheat for the next day if you so wish.
- Val (10/5): Really nice hostel - close to main road and town. - For a hostel, I think it's great. Very nicely designed. Cleanest, modern designed bathrooms around! I was with my aunts and mom but chose it because it seemed like one of the best and nicest deals in the area. My family was use to hotels so were looking for some of the hotel amenities, like toiletries. So if you're not expecting that you should be really pleased. I loved it!
- Buboy (10/5): Great staff - This is the 2nd time i stayed in this hostel. I hope they will be able to maintain their good standard. A very good valuw for your money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Stunning Hostel - beautiful hostel. amazing all you can eat breakfast in the mornings- free! good atmosphere and location is good. I only stayed one night but wish I stayed longer. A bit more expensive but worth the extra money. beautiful
- D (10/5): - Super clean, beautiful, and fun hostel. Very chill and laid back environment, and staff is super friendly and helpful. Travelers of all ages (including families with small children) where here. Breakfast included is great and substantial (pancakes, eggs made to order, fruits, juice, bread). The staff will also help you plan trips/outitings, and have activities happening all through the week. Its located right on the town proper, with easy access to the local vendors/restaurants and the beach/boat docking area. Will definitely stay here again when I return to el Nido. Highly recommend!
- Johan Martin (8/5): Decent and fair priced hostel option - Huge negative point is the window in our room facing the hallway. The hallway is lit up all night and the window is just by the pillow of the upper bunk in the room, so I pretty much had to sleep in full light all night. Should be an easy fix though.
Spin is a not very central which is fine since El Nido is a small place. It's a hostel type of accommodation and our bunk bed double room was miniscule but clean and adequate. They have tried to make it a bit "designy" and it looks pretty good though some things are a bit "trying to hard". Think run of the mill hostel is Paris, Madrid, London etc. So really good if you do not have the need of high standard. All in all, this is good place. We had a BBQ dinner there and food was ok-ish and price was fairly decent. You can definitely find much better value in other places in El Nido when it comes to food but it's nice to hang out with the others staying there.
I would stay there again if choosing to stay in El Nido instead of in a resort.
- Ed (8/5): Nice hotel close to town proper and beach - Staff are wonderful and friendly. There were activities like BBQ dinner, and jamming night that were fun. Wi-Fi were sufficient.
- marilyn (8/5): - Staff were very helpful and sweet
- Barry (8/5): Very Nice Hostel in El Nido - We stayed here for 4 nights over the xmas holidays. The staff were helpful in organising tours or any transport you needed. Breakfast was good every day and includes cooked omlettes. Its close to all the action in el nido.
- Tino (10/5): Best hostel option in El Nido - This hostel has great facilities.
The breakfast is close to a hotel buffet.
Very clean and it has an awesome design.
- Chai (10/5): Modern hostel - Pros: walking distance to main strip, clean, affordable, free buffet style breakfast, new building with modern design
Cons: Because of humidity beds were damp when we arrived, no toiletries provided, mosquitos can be annoying at night time, wifi only provided in common area
Overall a pleasant stay at our own bunk bed room. The BBQ night was alright, rice and meat only no veggies available would recommend eating out instead. The breakfast was superb and have a nice outdoor patio for meals. Some tips staying here is to walk to the rural bank not too far away to change your large pesos to smaller bills because no one has change in the area which means you will end up paying them more.
- David (8/5): Pleasant hostel for backpacking or light travel. - My wife enjoyed her stay here a lot, said the staff was friendly and the place quite comfortable. She even was allowed to use their kitchen supplies (not equipment but actual consumables) when cooking, and the staff helped arrange whatever she needed. Clean, comfortable, just a bit loud for sleeping; it is a hostel, after all. Dorm-style sleeping arrangements.
- Fiona (10/5): Great hostel even for western standards - Only newly opened, this hostel is fastastic. Rooms are clean, facilities are clean - good chill out areas, staff were super friendly and always available to help with travelling tips and tours. Awesome range of people staying at hostel and would highly recommend. The dorms are pretty spacious and coffee/breakfast is pretty good too. It is a little pricier than any other hostels and especially for philippino standards but worth it
