• Gunnar (8/5): Would stay again ! - Our host/owner was great, friendly and offered us great advice to tour the area. The accomodations were close to the beach and restaurants. Our room had a nice private bathroom. Kitchen was a bit greasy, but overall decently clean. The pillows were too thick & hard for our liking.

• Jason (9/5): Great for backpackers and perfect location! - One of the only places in the Caribbean for backpackers! Very friendly host and all the amenities you could need! The location is great and just a quick 15 minute walk to the airport, near all the local restaurants, bars and beaches! Some of the beds and things could use a little maintenance. The dormitory is in the attic and does get quite hot.

Location is central to everything worth seeing in Crown Point, yet at an optimal spot to sleep undisturbed of the music at night. Andrew is great to talk, had tons of recommendations, and was always willing to help get us on our way to an adventure! Pigeon point and Store bay are extremely easy to get to from Candles in the Wind on foot!

O Proprietário é uma pessoa muito prestativa, deu muitas dicas sobre a Ilha e passeios. Aluguel de bicicleta 10,00 dólares por dia. Nada! Se busca um local perto da melhor praia da ilha, este é o local pra você ficar!

We used ot as a spot to sleep while we went out during the day. I think the only issue was the limited Amenities within the facility.

• Felicia (9/5): Great Location and Host - Great location with restaurants and the airport within walking distance. It's a block away from a main road but is very quiet. The guesthouse is clean and safe, with a full kitchen and excellent Wi-Fi. I stayed in a single room that included a fan, excellent AC, hot water, and a small table and chairs. The owner Andrew lives there, so there is a degree of safety. He was always accessible and very friendly. Communication was excellent before and during my stay. Andrew even offered to take me on a day tour of the island. I highly recommend this place and would gladly stay there again when in Tobago. Bottled water or a water dispenser would be great, but Andrew did accommodate by offering some cooled-down water that he had boiled. Sharper/larger knives in the kitchen would have been helpful to cut food, but I understand the potential risks that come with that.

Would definitely recommend especially for big groups! The attic room do get very stuff during the night but you get what you pay for and the host does provide fans

He gave me all the information about places to eat, the beaches, tours, transport etc. Its in a great location to reach everything you need (bars, beaches, shops, food, airport) and felt safe. Wifi was good too. Kitchen has everything you need and dorm is spacious and comfortable. Great place to stay. My only criticism is that the dorm, kitchen and bathroom could all be cleaner.

He didn’t wanted to give me a receipt when I give him the the due amount . This caused me great emotional stress as a senior and handicapped person . I had to plea with him as he wanted the bank rateif15 USD . The two nights therewasniWifi and kept telling me the issue is not his fault .i found out he paying for the cheaper Wi-Fi service .Plus he has. No way to use credit card as he doesn’t want to pay to Offer to his customer.This was a ordeal to stay in the place Roseann Stapff
• Michy (7/5): Recommended for a short stay - Very well located , close to bar, restaurants ,supermarkets , veggie and fruit markets , 2 close by beaches and only 900 metres from Airport . Ideal location for Store bay beach and airport Owner has kindly upgraded me my booking from a single room to a double large one which was very spacious as i requested a quiet room . Andrew is very responsive and accommodating fridge was not very clean and quite smelly shower was very out of date and took me a while to be able to switch from tap to shower function

• Joaquim (9/5): Great place to Stay, with a SuperHost - Great place to Stay in Tobago, if you are a couple, a group of friends, or like me a solo world traveler. The owner Andrew is a SuperHost, a proactive person always willing to help and inform the foreigners that stays on his Hostel, a Hostel that has a big kichen with everything you need to cook, diferent spaces separated with dorm beds in the last floor with nice views from the balcony, and another floor with private rooms with ensuit bathrooms. Is a spacious and very quite place to relax and even chat with other travelers or our host Andrew, a great man full of expiriences to share. Supernarkets, bars, restaurants and ghe beach are at walking distance, in one of the best places to base your stay in Tobago. Highly recomended!!

• Mark (10/5): Wonderful Stay - This was a wonderful stay. Everything was what you could possibly ask for. I had a private room which was very affordable, bed was super comfortable and A/C was perfect, house is large and there are kitchen facilities that you can use if you don't want to try one of many great local restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance from the house. There are beautiful beaches - public (free) is only 7 minutes away walking with great place to do body surfing and chargeable one ($3) - 15 minutes away walking with activities and nicely done grounds. I loved the free beach though. So pretty. Place is walkable from the airport if you want - 17 minutes, or take the public bus that takes 2-3 minutes. Public bus stop to both town and airport around the corner and if you don't like the option of waiting and paying only 30 cents, you can take a shared taxi to Scarborough and any place along the way for $1.50. They pass by every few minutes. For me location was perfect for all the reasons above and comfort was excellent. The owner is easy going and a wonderful person with whom you can have great conversations. He has been kind enough to drop me at the airport for free to make sure I don't miss my flight and I heard from other guests how helpful he's been to them too. This was my 2nd visit to Tobago after many years and I have remembered the same hospitality from my first visit too and came back to stay at the same place. Nothing
• Thomas (8/5): Stay at Candles in the Wind - The host is very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are air-conditioned and clean. If you want to cook you can. If you want to buy ready made meals there are places near by (within walking distance) such as Royal Castle and gyro food outlets, so the location is good. There is also a pharmacy nearby in case of any medical issues. It is also nearer to the current location of the airport than the port itself. In terms of beaches you can walk to Store bay and Swallows if you wish. For entertainment there is a casino is within walking distance. If you want to rent a car you can go about. But for those who don't want to rent a car there are places to walk to. There could be a little improvement with the tv. Sometimes youtube movies are a bit boring. Maybe a fire stick maybe better. But this just for those who prefer to stay inside during the holiday.

Location of this quiet safe place is minutes away from the main activity area of Bon Accord with lots of food options and bars with thumping music. Store Bay beach (for boat tours to Nylon bay) and Swallows beach are 15+ min walking distance. Pigeon point a further walk, maybe 30 min. I had the single private room which was small-ish but enough for a solo person. Toilet was a bit challenging to flush but good WiFi air conditioner and access to big kitchen and common area. Airport 5-10 min drive away.

He made me feel as though I was staying at his house in a family kind of way. The location Of Candles In The Wind is very central with everything you need just a short walk away. I enjoyed going to swim at Store Bay everyday and wish I could have stayed longer! Next time! He also gave me a ride to the airport which was very helpful! that i didnt stay longer!

• Ester (6/5): Great location, lovely host, but... - Excellent location - 5 minute walk to Swallows beach and two good Italian restaurants. The host is a gem. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, aircon in good working order. The common areas (kitchen, dining room) are quite dilapidated and the smell of mildew is very strong. Not really dirty, just very run down and in need of a makeover.

A little quint but nothing that can't be fixed we need some new sheets and towels but all in all great stay.

The location is practically walking distance from all the area' highlights. (Beaches , food avenue) We stayed in one of the rooms, which was very spacious and had all the amenities needed. ( spacious own bathroom, toilet, AC) Next to that it was very clean. Bed was comfortable and practically no outside noise during sleeping. Nothing.

• John (7/5): Intelligent, knowledgeable, and informational. - Did not cycle through Candles in the wind in Bon Accord thinking, Relax with Breakfast, my concern was stuck in and on my travel to my return destination which I accomplished. I did visit Englishman's Bay and Plymouth on my own Overnight from Candles in the wind, did not meet Candice, Andrew was Just Great as a Host in itself. This too is not in focus of the need and necessity of my stay in Bon Accord,. As in a Playback, I believe I may have actually been in Bon Accord and Candles in the wind during my younger days Attending Public Education in Trinidad itself. Albeit,. I felt Welcomed and I had a Shower and a Bed Out from the Elements of Nature. Thank you.
• Lois (9/5): Great for visiting the island - The owner is so welcoming and helpful. The beds are comfortable. Good kitchen. Walking distance to the beach The showers weren’t great pressure wise. The room was a little dusty and very hot during the day. Can imagine it being uncomfortable if there’s a few people in the dorm.
• Aneakaleigh-ann (10/5): Perfectly located with lots of nearby must-visit beaches! - Loved that the property is located near to everything - walking distance to the most popular beaches - and really easy to find!
