• Leon (10/5): Comfortable, convenient and enjoyable - The decor was nice - perfect for a beach area. The facility was spotless and well designed. The beach and five restaurants were within a two-minute walk, and downtown Newport was two miles away. The bed was very comfortable, and linens/towels were high quality. The host was great to deal with and very helpful. There was fresh fruit and many options for a simple breakfast (no tables/chairs to ear at, so you take food back to your room or with you as you're going out). I would definitely stay there again. We booked the last available room and were on the ground floor next to the parking lot/entrance. That said we didn't spend much time there, because its a block from the beach and restaurants.

• Taryn (9/5): Great location, cozy and clean, friendly staff. - Very close to First Beach. No need to pay for parking or spend time in traffic, just walk over in fewer than 5 minutes. More of a suggestion than a dislike: I stayed in a first floor room facing the parking lot. A blackout curtain on the window in addition to the Roman shade would help with a feeling of privacy and to keep light out at night from the lot.

The coffee, fresh fruit and grab able breakfast options were perfect for us as well. The owner was super friendly with a very easy check in. I hope to stay again next time we are in Newport!

• Foxboro23 (10/5): Rhea’s deserves its high ratings. - We just returned from spending two nights at Rhea’s (July 3-5). We had a Jacuzzi King room on the second floor with a deck. The room was large (especially the bathroom) and the deck a nice amenity. The whole place is extremely well maintained and in the perfect location for exploring Middletown and downtown Newport. I am familiar with the area but had forgotten how many great places were right out side the door of this Inn. Restaurants, beach, bars, including a great breakfast place and excellent Italian sandwich shop and deli. We walked everywhere, except for second beach which is 1.5 miles away. Many people commented about the snacks and breakfast items and coffee that were always available. They were a nice surprise and much better than anticipated. We will definitely be visiting Rhea’s again this summer!

The area of the inn was perfect as well. A good walk to the beach, local food places you can walk to all around, close to Newport where you can shop and eat. It was an enjoyable stay, affordable, and lovely. Will book again.

• Judith (7/5): Good - The room was pleasant and clean, although small. The bathroom was good and the shower was excellent. When a hotel says it provides breakfast, I/we don't expect that to mean cold cereal, snacky type things, and that sort. In most other places we have stayed, that means a hot meal. I could have gone to the corner store and picked up the things that were offered for breakfast, or I could have brought most of it from home. I think the corrrect term would have been "continental breakfast" and even that would have been a stretch.

• Jonathan (10/5): Rhea's a gem of a location - Tony is a great host, the Inn is perfectly located across from a beautiful beach and just down the road from the northern entrance to the cliff walk and the mansions. The inn is situated about a 5-10 minute drive to downtown Newport and all the great restaurants and shops. The rooms are large, clean and well appointed and Tony has made sure that all safety protocol's are observed. There is a simple but adequate breakfast available and if you need a full breakfast there is a restaurant within walking distance. I recommend Rhea's for a great night's sleep and an excellent location at a great price.
• 4Jerseytravelers (10/5): Beautiful Inn with a great location! - We come to Newport/Middletown every October, but decided to stay somewhere new this year. Rhea's was the perfect choice! The inn and rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. Solid furniture with plenty of drawer space. We booked a room with a jacuzzi and balcony. The kitchen area has cereals, muffins, etc along with cookies, granola bars, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. You can help yourself any time of the day. It is a block away from a small beach. Perfect for beach strolls. Multiple restaurants within walking distance. I recommend Tickets for both breakfast and dinner. Just an fyi - they don't have an elevator, so keep that in mind if stairs are an issue. Tony, the owner is very gracious. I can't say enough about our stay and we will be back next year!

The lobby has self serve on the go breakfast and snack needs - plus beverages. The location is a five minute walk to the entrance of the Cliff Walks. A few good restaurants are walkable and the beach is across the road!!
• Lottoe (7/5): What a great location -- parked my car and walked most places !! - proximity to beach was great; loved the extra deep bathtub for soaking after a day at the beach !! having just 10 rooms was great but .... being smaller, no place to sit outside -- a picnic table would be great ...if there was only room !; my lower level room was noisy with the common area; with being so close to the beach and walkable to many restaurants the downfall is the amount of road traffic and noise; brought my laptop to do a few things over the three days but with no table/desk chair in the room or common area I didn't get to use it

The only thing I didn't care for was the water pressure in the shower was really bad. Not that it was a big problem. It just took me a lot longer to rinse the conditioner out of my hair.

• Surmar1111 (10/5): Best Place to Stay in Rhode Island - Booked Rhea's Inn August 30 to Sept 1, 2024. Rhea's was above expectation. Super Clean and very convenient. There is a Parking lot available and everything is close by. Walkable to several restaurants with Wine and Liquor store right across the street. Gas Station with convenient store is also very close by. 5 mins drive to Thames St., The Wharf, beach and Cliff Walk. There is also snacks available all day and several options for breakfast including coffee, tea, juices, milk, etc. This will sure be our stay next time we visit Rhode Island.
• KIMBERLY (10/5): - This was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at and I’ve traveled a lot! Bedding and towels had a fresh scent like washed in your own house! Beds were comfortable. No hot breakfast but a variety of cereals, muffins, bagels cakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, tea,coffee,juices available 24/7. Stayed on the second floor with deck and jacuzzi tub. Views are the best from 3rd floor. Nice seating area on each floor for extra room if wanted. Walking distance to numerous restaurants, the beach, and the start of the Cliff walk. Extremely happy chose this area to stay in rather than upper Middleton where “ big name” hotels are located.Easy drive to downtown Newport, 5-8 minutes. Perfect location and perfect hotel for trip to Newport!!

Rheas by the Sea is in a good location, near the beach and restaurants, and it's super clean and well appointed. Tony the owner was very nice, responsive and helpful - he graciously lugged our bags up three flights of stairs. The take and go breakfast items were a nice touch. There was nothing not to like.

Great location by the beach, close enough to walk to sites! Lots of snacks and food available, good fresh food, not commonly seen while traveling always available!

The breakfast isn't "fancy" but it was a nice touch with lots of options and we enjoyed it. Easy parking. It wasn't cheap, but it seems like a good value based on the area.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent overnight stay - We had an excellent overnight stay. The hotel looks recently renovated. The hallway carpets were spotless. The bedroom and bathroom were good-sized and in excellent condition. There was a cute seating area on the 2nd floor where we stayed, which has three rooms. So if a family or group booked those rooms, there's a little common area to gather in. The office area serves as the breakfast area. It's compact but well-organized with a couch, TV, ice machine, hot and cold water dispenser, coffee, tea, a refrigerator (stocked with yogurt, milk, juice, butter, jelly), dry cereal, oatmeal, English muffins, Pop Tarts, fruit, muffins, cookies, granola bars -- so many choices! Rhea's is in a great location. It's a short-ish walk to Easton Beach, and just beyond that is the famous Cliff Walk. There are several restaurants and stores very close by. We highly recommend this beautiful little hotel and would not hesitate to stay there if we are ever visit this area again!

It has a very homey feel and is very laid back, friendly feel. It is now my first choice to stay when I'm in the area. Also, if you're into supporting the small independent businesses, this is definitely worth your patronage. I'm looking forward to staying at Rhea's again

Everything from Coffee and tea to Nutrigrain bars and fresh muffins/pastries. The entire experience was beyond what I expected. Honestly the only thing I can have to remotely complain about is the high price. That being said, I am aware that for what you get and where you are (referring to Rhea's Location) It's NOT an unreasonable price. Living in the age we are living in when everyone is trying to take what they can it would be great to have it a LITTLE cheaper but I'm sure they have their reasons.

Very quick drive to the mansions in Newport and downtown Newport. The hotel room was very clean, nicely decorated. Nice options for a quick breakfast. The gentleman who ran the front desk was very nice. We would definitely stay here again!

Coffee and breakfast(bagels, muffins and fruit) were included. The owners was very friendly. He gave us a lot of recommendations in the area and chatted with us everyday. The surrounding area was nice, walkable, safe and only a few minutes to drive to downtown Newport. We loved it so much we recommended it to a family member who will be there later this year and they booked it also. We would definitely stay here again!!
