We want to personally thank Maria and Estefani they were always very attentive and made our stay and my Dads birthday a special one . Ernesto from the tours was great we had a wonderful experience at paradise island it’s a must do. Specially on a Saturday when it was very busy . Hendry was very friendly and welcoming . Some evenings we had dinner outside in front of the pool and that was very nice and beautiful . The vibe was very romantic and nice. The beach is very close and a beautiful walk , The place is super nice and clean . Compared to other resorts we been this one is small and everything is close by. Gym staff Adonis were also great and very motivating . We had a wonderful time. And we will definetly be back .

- Tiffany (6/5): - Viva Heavens is a small resort with a long walk to the beach. The buffet for breakfast and lunch and snacks are subpar to say the least however the restaurant food was really good. The resort is middle of the road budget friendly. You get what you pay for. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.

We liked that the cleaning staff cleaned daily.Unfortunately the room has deteriorating due to water leaking from hvac system.. the bathroom sheetrock on ceiling was peeling off due to leaking. The hvac filter was dirty and needed replacement. The hvac system probably needed maintenence. The sliding door patio had failed wheels for sliding door open..you literally had to push hard.. Hopefully this was just an isolated event. Overall, we would come back, the benefits still outweighed the pesky inconveniences.

- Karina (10/5): - My family and I went for a birthday celebration and it was our first trip to DR. The service and staff were excellent, very friendly and professional. The buffet was so good and a whole variety in food choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The room/suite was a good size and the fridge was always reloaded with water and soda each day. The drinks were okay. The beach area was always clean. The only thing that may need to improve in the near future is Wi-Fi connection and providing more towels in the rooms. We only got 2 or 3 clean towels each day and we were a party of 5. But overall I give it a 10!!!

- Arianna (2/5): - I never had a parking issues at any hotel that I’ve stayed before, but this place.. beware. This place has very limited parking space. I had to leave because the vehicle I was driving was a rental and I didnt want to run the risk of something happening to it. Long story short, after I checked in, the security guard had sent me to a nearby mall to park my car. Absolutely not. The hotel had then offered to resolve the problem but at that point there was nothing to resolve because the parking was full. I contacted expedia & the hotel and they both refused to refund me my money back. Stay away from this place.
- Abigail (2/5): - day of arrival the pool was emptied to be cleaned and was closed the following day. Causing us to have a morning with no water and the entire trip had no warm water for showering, it was cold showers all week. There was ants and fleas in our room not on beds but in drawers and counters. The food was okay but the a la carte restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Thursday so you have to eat at the buffet those nights. The app has a schedule of events but it is not accurate. We purchased a couples package and didn’t receive half the things promised. We were supposed to have a variety of classes which were open to everyone and not private and we didnt even get to go to them all. We were promised a private dj class per a package we booked. We were told a time to meet the DJ. When that time came around it didnt exist, no one knew what we were talking about. The viva club team brought a great experience to the vacation with games and contests. However they could use more variety of games/contests but overall they made the trip worth our time and kept us busy despite all the hotel/expedia inconveniences. The hotel claims all the inconveniences are due to issues with Expedia and were hesitant to supply us with an email stating we did not receive the services paid for. Over all the only compensation we received was a bottle of champagne, despite a day with no pool, a day with no running water, days without warm water, restaurants closed half the time and our package being incorrect.

It made every meal something to look forward to. The staff was incredibly friendly and serviceable, always ready to help with a smile. From check-in to check-out, their hospitality made me feel genuinely welcome and well cared for. The location is also a big plus—conveniently situated and just a short walk to the beach, which made it easy to enjoy both the sea and nearby attractions. If you're looking for a comfortable place with authentic local cuisine, warm staff, and beachside access, this is a perfect choice. Highly recommend!

Many of the guest that were there were not polite and respectful, the pool was filthy and dirty not to mention that the filter stopped working and they never warned anyone about the situation. My family vacation was completely ruined and we asked for a refund the first night we were there but they gave us a run around it looks like they had an answer to everything we needed to say.

Many times there are just scraps of food to be found and whatever food you do find is cold, undercooked, and not edible. Customer service is nonexistent. The entire place needs a major overhaul. I was scheduled to stay for a total of seven nights and had to check out early after just one night there. That’s how bad the hotel is.

- Miguel (4/5): - Evelyn the manager was great, but unfortunately food was horrible and most people didn’t care. I was expecting a very relaxing time and my wife almost had an asthma attack. Room very humid and the air condition was really bad. I was trying to get a refund and leave earlier but I knew the cancellation policies were not good for me and Evelyn changed our mind and got a different room and it was perfect for us. But the whole experience wasn’t good and it wasn’t cheap either for a family of 4. I can get a 5 star hotel in Punta Cana for the same price. The beach is another story. It is so beautiful and peaceful, that you don’t think you’re in that hotel. Playa Dorada is so beautiful and they should get that place back in the map. Definitely not coming back to this hotel and I don’t recommend it either.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, lots of games and activities, and it wasn’t over crowded. Everything was clean, reservations were easy to come by, and I never had a hard time finding a good seat by the pool or the beach.

This was not communicated to us in advance, which significantly affected our overall experience. Additionally, the hot tub was out of service throughout our visit. More concerning were the instances of roaches—three found in our room and another near the buffet area. While we understand that humidity can contribute to this issue, it raises concerns about cleanliness and maintenance standards. On a positive note, the staff were consistently friendly and courteous, which we appreciated. However, the lack of transparency regarding amenities and the presence of pests made this stay fall short of our expectations. We were told more is offered on the weekend but we were there during the week.

Their energy and enthusiasm were infectious! They organized a fantastic range of activities throughout the day and evening, ensuring there was always something fun happening. Whether it was poolside games, dance lessons, or evening shows, the entertainment team created a lively and engaging atmosphere that added so much to the overall vacation experience. Their ability to connect with guests and make everyone feel included was remarkable. Overall, Viva Heavens by Wyndham provided a fantastic getaway. The combination of excellent food, thanks to Chef Amaurys, and the outstanding entertainment team made made for a truly memorable vacation. I'd highly recommend it.

We couldn’t have asked for a better time. Even some of the entertainment employees became our friends. We also went during the “off-season” so the hotel was a bit quieter but we didn’t mind that at all since the employees still made it enjoyable. The cleaning service was also very good and always catered to our needs. Very good stay and would come back again. :))
- Eric David (4/5): - We recently stayed at Viva Heavens by Wyndham with our family and, while the facility itself was well-maintained and the beach beautiful, there were serious issues that would prevent us from ever returning. Most of the staff, including bar and concierge services, were friendly and professional. However, the front desk was a major exception—consistently uncooperative, inflexible, and in one disturbing instance, refused to return my daughter’s passport, creating a situation that felt inappropriate and alarming. As a parent, this was deeply unsettling, especially in a foreign country. I escalated the incident to upper management, who handled the report professionally, but the experience has stayed with us. If you're traveling with children or are a woman traveling alone, I would strongly caution against staying here. The food was another major disappointment—bland at best, and in some cases, caused illness among members of our group. In over 20 years of travel, this was easily the worst food experience we've had on vacation. Given the health issues and lack of quality or variety, the dining alone is enough reason to look elsewhere. In summary: Safety concerns at the front desk, poor food quality, and illness from food/drink made this a regrettable stay. Spend a little more and go to a resort with higher standards.

- Vrej (6/5): - My daughter has celiac disease. When we made the reservation, we made sure we called the hotel ourselves and told them about this. They said they were options for her to eat. When we arrived, we received a letter in Spanish explaining that she had celiac disease and that we were to give that letter to all of the people who were involved in restaurants. Unfortunately, there were some places who served food who did not understand the letter. In my opinion, this is where speaking English is a benefit to Tourists even though the letter was in Spanish, they still did not understand and when we tried to explain, they did not understand us. Celiac disease is something that we don’t mess around with given this reason as to the workers not understanding the tourist who were staying at their hotel is how I rate an average.

Our Private Tour guide Mr. Enrique was knowledgeable and kind and we really enjoyed the drive around. The all inclusive food options from breakfast-Dinner were fresh and hearty and delicious. Hard working people, professional and kind. We will visit again and want to join membership.
- Mercedes (10/5): - Viva Heavens has been the best hotel I have stayed in. This was my 2nd year visiting in a row. I LOVE EVERYTHING about Viva Heavens. Such friendly staff who go out of their way to make you happy. The food is delicious, especially the Buffet restaurant. Every night is a different menu and the 4 restaurants are truly fine dining. The hotel and rooms are very clean. And above all i felt exteemely safe at all times.

Cleaning ladies let mosquitos in the room when cleaning so they bite you in the room at night. Bring insect spray. Air Conditioner unit stay broke doesn't get very cold bring a small fan. You have to remain in your room all day until they fix it you cant go out or they will stop working on the unit..SPA- massage is a waste of 115 dollars unless you want a rub down in baby oil they dont actually massage your muscles just rub excessive amount of baby oil on for 1 hour 20 mins. You leave the same way you went in just oily. Other than that enjoy the scenery of the beach.

- Nelson (8/5): - This resort if very well maintained. The staff were very welcoming and courteous. The food and variety was good. I didn't get to experience any of the restaurants (they filled up quickly) but the buffet was adequate with plenty of options and the coffee shop was excellent. The toaster and the panini maker were broken. They should have backups in place. The food options by the beach was adequate. One day they had a BBQ and it was delicious. Drinks were adequate. Only Presidente beer which was fine by me. The entertainment shows were good but short. They had a pool table but was always covered. They need more entertainment or maybe a game room. There were plenty of chairs and covered areas (coconut trees) by the beach. The pool was decent but after a bubble pool party the water looked murky the next couple of days. Overall a good experience. Would highly recommend.
- Elvin (4/5): - The rooms were spacious, good AC, and the beach was beautiful. The taste of the food was okay but there was a lack of options (not even salmon). The food at the buffet was better than the restaurants. The front desk employees were helpful. There was a lack of entertainment for people with families and/or the entertainment events were not promoted well! What was particularly disappointing about this place was that you could tell some of the employees were intoxicated while working their shift. That was a huge turn off from this hotel especially if you are going with your family.

The number of restaurants were limited though and they all aren't open always so had some terrible getting some bookings in. The guest help desk was able to hook us up with some reservations when we requested them but couldn't get it ourselves on the app. Overall experience was great and the staff was very accommodating but I wish they had more number of events throughout the day (especially in the open) to keep the Caribbean vibe alive throughout.
- Jeffery Ian (8/5): - Small, older resort. Rooms rundown and in need of updating. But this was the worst part. Grounds amazing. Truly a tropical paradise Beach was top notch. Staff incredible. Really can’t say enough about the wonderful people working there. Attentive cleaning staff. Wonderful bartenders and servers and a large and hardworking maintenance staff. Front desk took care of the few issues we had with the room promptly and with care. Entertainment staff was out of this world. So hard working. They put on great entertainment every day at the pool and every evening in the small theatre. Disco every night. Our teenage kids had a blast. The smaller size of the resort was actually a plus. Got to know the staff and guests very well. Buffet and a la cartes exceeded expectations. Over all a great experience and I would recommend. Certainly not a 5 star resort but great value for your money!!

- Benjamin (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Viva Heavens. Our room was spacious and had balcony. Food and drinks were decent. The main dining buffet does open late (6:30) so if you like to eat early this isn’t ideal. The beach area was clean and had plenty of loungers and had the option of being in the shade or in the sun. Only down side was a couple of nights we were awoken by people yelling and partying at 2:00 in the morning and the staff didn’t seem to take notice or care. We also noticed some guests would place their t-shirts/ towels around the pool area to claim a spot then go to the beach or the dining area so that no else could sit there. This limited the seating around the pool. Overall great stay and good value for the money.
- Wayne (6/5): - This stay was a mixed bag. Service was excellent. Food was uneven: a dinner in the Mexican restaurant was great, in the Italian one regrettable. Activities were limited, despite staff enthusiasm. And there seemed to be enough loungers almost all the time, a big plus. Great shower, too. But the big problem was terrible internet: cellular in-room wifi, and even lobby internet (though this latter was sometimes ok). And various room details need upgrading: lighting, bathroom hooks, drawers—not costly improvements (and we had a large room with sitting area)! The Playa Dorada area is very nice, and with only a few hotels. But we are unlikely to return.

- alina (6/5): - The overall not bad! We did had a great time at the beach, the beach is clean and nice. Beach volleyball was fun! And there is always beach chairs available which is so convinient! The stuff members are amazing 👏 But few things we didnt like...the premium drinks are only for viva members and you absolutely can not do an upgrade for an additional price, that was very dissapointing! Our TV in the room didnt work, and they offered to change the room after couple days, which at that point was pointless.
- Kilsia (4/5): - It was clean and front desk was warm n welcoming. I’m very disappointed at one person at the towel site. When I asked for towels , it was not available several times. There’s one girl name Isa, (21 years old) she was very arrogant when I questioned about the towels. I was talking to the guys at the site n she got in the middle of the conversation with a very high pitch and arrogant manner. Later at the buffet, she again confronted me: saying exact words that she doesn’t care about no clients at the hotel n that she will fight if she has to. I had to report her at the front desk . I spoke to the manager, Marie n she was very supported of the incident. She came to see who the aggressive girl was. I never thought that a person working at the hotel that is supposed to be courteous can be so aggressive.
- Daniel Mark (6/5): - Good proximity to airport. Clean, neat garden and pool areas. Comfortable beds, nice sheets and towels. Good A/C. Good drink variety. Very friendly staff. Spacious room. Umbrella provided! Hard to get restaurant reservations, as 2 of the a la carte restaurants were closed each night. Mold in shower grout/caulking. Soap scum on glass. Broken bathroom fixtures. No hot water in bathroom sink. Got food poisoning from eating salad appetizer at Puebla 222 restaurant (I know better, but forgot.) Raunchy entertainment dancing some nights. Uber works fine here, though staff told us several times that it didn’t.

Inadequate quantity of bath towels. No body lotions or other amenities. Very limited activities. Hotel did not live up to prior reviews and should not be considered a 4 star.

- Douglas John (10/5): - Expedia got us a great deal with this property, greatly appreciated. There were lots of mosquitoes in the evening due to the big pond next to the property, but maybe there isn’t much to do to remedy that? The Italian restaurant’s food wasn’t very good which required a reservation. However, the exception was that the pizzas were always very good, and didn’t require a reservation. The buffet restaurant was always very good, just that restaurant was worth the stay there! The room was very nice, and service was excellent with quick response to any complaints. When we arrived, the safe was broken with the combination function not working, along with a vent fan that was so loud and strong that it shook the floor. Both issues were resolved quickly, but the best solution would have been to have these things working correctly upon checking in to the room, yes? All in all, we enjoyed a lovely stay, and I would visit again.
