Guest Reviews
- SamHornsey (10/5): Honeymoon Trip - A beautiful boutique hotel in a perfect location to explore the city.
We were blown away by the level of service provided by the team, it felt very personal and nothing was too much to ask. The team were available 24/7 and were very responsive and helpful.
We stayed in the Atlas room, which has a stunning rooftop with a bath and shower, which we used most days, and also were able to order breakfast to our room and eat on the rooftop. The room had everything we needed and was designed perfectly.
If we visit Mexico City again I would absolutely book here again and recommend friends to book too. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
- 424bradf (10/5): Great boutique hotel in aroma - Wonderful location in historic Roma. Large comfortable rooms and a staff that is anxious to serve your every need. The breakfast cafe is excellent. Highly recommended
- barbaramB8703TF (10/5): A sparkling gem in Roma Norte - A beautiful gem of a hotel. Like the city itself, there are creative artistic touches everywhere. Our suite was nicely laid out and thoughtfully appointed. The included coffees and breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed having the choice to have them delivered or in the adjacent cafe.
Our daily morning cafe experience was like a one-act play, with the terrifically attentive, clever young women behind the counter the cool main characters.
The staff is warm, friendly, communicative, and well trained. They make an effort to connect with each guest about where they visited that day.
When an electrical transformer on a pole outside our window blew with a loud kaboom and even a small fire, we received frequent communication about the possibility of the hotel‘s power being out. That problem never materialized, but we appreciated the acknowledgment that it could , and that guests would be taken care of.
In “short,” we loved our stay at La Valise.
- LauraM4667 (10/5): Perfect Boutique Hotel - This is a truly perfect boutique hotel in the best location in Roma. Our room was architecturally unique and the bedding was among most luxurious I’ve ever slept in. From the lime tree on our roof deck to the amazing front desk service, I could not recommend this hotel more. Room service breakfast was a work of art. Five stars. No notes.
- DianeJ905 (10/5): A perfect boutique hotel experience. Highly recommended! - Highly recommended beautiful hotel in lovely central neighborhood. Our room was so spacious and comfortable (gravity) with a large bright living room, equally large bedroom with a terrace, and a luxury bathroom complete with separate dressing area, freestanding tub and separate luxurious shower. The staff are so personable and helpful and made us feel so well cared for. A special shout out for Erik who went above and beyond, especially in helping me to get an Uber when I had to transport my and my partners’ luggage on my own. The breakfast is expansive and delicious and you can take it in your room or their small café. Overall a perfect boutique hotel experience.
- katebfree (10/5): Perfect boutique hotel! - What a lovely hotel and beautiful neighborhood! This was the perfect location for our first trip to CDMX. The hotel is small but had everything we needed. The staff greets you by name and the rooms are spacious and quiet. We loved Polaris (top floor, just like the website pictures). Note there is a small elevator available. The included breakfast (coffee/tea, fruit, yogurt, granola, croissant, egg dish) set us up well for the day. The small adjacent cafe is also pleasant. Bottled water in the room was plentiful and complimentary. There are so many restaurants, bakeries, cafes, bars, and shops within a short walk! Just book it!
- Sherpa24377604547 (10/5): Excellent boutique hotel - It doesn’t get much better than this. Small deluxe boutique hotel, attentive staff, great suites, excellent breakfast - all in the best location in Mexico City for a first time
- larryafox1960 (10/5): A Little Gem in Roma Norte - A luxury boutique hotel with only 8 unique rooms. Excellent service, superb location, quaint rooms, great breakfast.
- msgphd (10/5): La Valise is a luxury gem in Roma Norte - La Valise is a small luxury hotel in Roma Norte. There are so many ways in which the hotel exceeded our expectations. The room (Moon) was enormous and well appointed. The bathroom was as large as most hotel rooms with a shower and a bath. It was like having a personal spa in your room. The bed was comfortable. Noise from the bustling Roma Norte area was well masked by window coverings and the unique moon decoration. Service was twice daily to the room and was a delight--the room remained spotless. And the treats were so kind--the staff accommodated my partner's GF needs so nicely. The location is perfect for spending several days in CDMX. You can easily get anywhere and yet are tucked away in a quiet spot. The staff at the front desk were generous and kind--we felt like part of the family there. And the daily breakfast was excellent. Although you can take it in your room, strong recommendation to take it in the cafe. You can sit and absorb the street noise while sipping a cortado and delighting in a croissant and fresh fruit while a sparrow trots in to the cafe looking for crumbs. The hotel is on the expensive side and was a splurge for us. However, it was well worth it, as the experience was five stars all the way.
- camillej890 (10/5): Perfect bolt hole for CDMX - Fantastic from beginning to end. Staff super polite and helpful. Beautiful rooms and great location in Roma. Can’t recommend more.
- kimsO1669YG (10/5): Wonderful spot in the heart of Mexico City - We had an amazing time at La Valise! Beautiful property and amazing staff! Would definitely stay here again!
- O4014UCmegank (10/5): Fabulous, charming stay — I will happily return! - I stayed here for four nights, and absolutely loved my stay. The rooms are so spacious and intentionally designed and in a great neighborhood. Complimentary coffee and breakfast is included with your stay, which is a nice touch. Coffee is solid but food was just so-so (just ask for a croissant — they were delicious). If anything is needed during your stay you can just text them on WhatsApp and they are so quick to respond. Housekeeping was fabulous — they did such a great job at tidying the room and even do a turn-down service in the evening. The front desk staff was also super friendly. I’d definitely stay here during my next visit!
- CM1320 (10/5): A memorable experience - La valise CDMX is such a beautiful boutique hotel. Every room is unique and has its own charm! The location is great, walking distance near a lot of cool dining spots.
The entire staff was great from the pick-up at the airport to the check-in and throughout the stay. Friendly Concierge and great housekeeping service!
- I3815MCnormam (10/5): Beautiful hotel, wonderful service - Wonderful property, every design detail in the room was beautiful. Staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. Breakfast in the cafe was delicious. A bit of a splurge to stay here but totally worth it.
- Savraj (9/5): -
- Brittney (10/5): Best Boutique Hotel in Mexico City. - We had a wonderful time at La Valise! Everyone was great - attentive and always happy to help. The room was fantastic with breakfast service each day…they helped with a chauffeur and things to do around the city.
Long story short - yes, you should book it!
- stephaniefB9241HK (10/5): THE BEST HOTEL - Incredible hotel ! The staff goes above and beyond , feels like home when you come here. Everything is clean , beautiful and peaceful. Great location as well, close to all
The great spots in Mexico. We travel all around the world and this has become our #1 hotel we have ever stayed at. Thank you Valise for everything you did to make our trip extraordinary!!! I wish we could give you 10 STARS!!!
- carolkJ8226EJ (10/5): The perfect 8 room charming hotel in Roma Norte - La Valise was absolutely delightful. Perfect in every way! The rooms were great and well appointed! The breakfast room adorable and breakfast was included. Great Lattes! The staff was very helpful and attentive. I will definitely stay there again! Thank you for a wonderful experience La Valise! Also great location in Roma Norte!
- dougcH3690BY (10/5): La Valise - We recently stayed at La Valise while visiting Mexico City. La Valise is located in a beautiful and safe area of Roma Norte, with lots of restaurants and shops close by. Our room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. Best of all, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
- ardith1985 (10/5): Thoughtful and relaxing stay in Roma Norte - La Valise Mexico City is a special place. We recently stayed there to celebrate a milestone birthday, and it did not disappoint. From the perfect location in Roma Norte to the peaceful atmosphere and the caring staff, La Valise was outstanding from the get-go.
Our room, the Nebula Suite, was decorated and outfitted with unique and elegant touches. I loved the layout of the room, including the raised bathroom--and no weird barn doors or halfway open showers here! The bathroom has a solid, mirrored door, and the shower is fully enclosed. The toilet is also behind its own door. Seems weird to note this, but I find these details especially important if I'm on a vacation with my significant other!
Everything was clean and well-tended, and housekeeping came to the room twice a day.
Communicating with staff was seamless via WhatsApp, and they responded without hesitation to requests for additional water bottles or scheduling a spa appointment. They even packed us a to-go "boxed lunch" that was ready to go when our 5:30AM pickup showed up to take us to the airport (since we were going to miss our usual 7:30AM breakfast)! Everyone working was kind and responsive, and overall, caring. The special touches for my birthday throughout the trip were much appreciated and did not go unnoticed.
Speaking of the spa, we had an excellent 90-minute couples massage--one of the best I've had! The spa is conveniently located on the main floor, so very easy to get to from your room.
The location is ideal for exploring Roma Norte and Condesa neighborhoods and very close to a plethora of fabulous places to eat. Just be aware that there is some noise from the street. Of course, staff anticipates and knows this, and there were earplugs available bedside upon arrival. The noise wasn't constant or excessive, but there were some amplified sounds from passing vehicles and loud conversations.
Overall, we'd return without question. Luxury doesn't need to be grand; it can instill a sense of tranquility in the middle of a busy neighborhood, in the biggest city in North America.
- annahoobinator (6/5): Artsy stay - The location was great. The design of the polaris and Atlas suites were excellent. We really appreciated the thoughtful gift from the hotel staff left daily.
- K2467VBjillp (10/5): One of the best boutique hotel experiences I've ever had! - Everything about La Valise was great. The rooms were very cool and uniquely decorated. The location was perfect!! The coffee shop was adorable and breakfast was wonderful. Eric, the manager was one of the best we've ever met. Thank you for a fun 50th birthday weekend!
- I8561PIsimonh (10/5): Home away from home - a bijou delight! - We had an amazing experience staying at La Valise. The hotel is in a fantastic location in Roma Norte with its many eating options and bars all within a short walk. The nearest metro station (Insurgentes) is very close by and gets an honourable mention for featuring in the film ‘Total Recall’! Also within easy walking distance is upmarket Condesa with its art deco buildings and large park.
The staff at La Valise were super friendly and helpful and our room (Nova) was perfect - great size, comfy, and with all the ameneties you could want. We mainly had breakfast served to our room and the fresh fruit, pastries, and granola were a fantastic way to start the day :)
We hope to visit Mexico City again in the future and we won’t hesitate to book into La Valise again!
- textrav64 (10/5): Charm and beauty - Clean pristine property with a charming staff. Located in a wonderful neighborhood of Norte Roma. We will definitely be staying here again.
- ErinC3093 (10/5): Incredible Experience Celebrating Our Anniversary - My husband and I had an incredible stay at La Valise CDMX celebrating our anniversary. The hotel is stunning - every detail feels intentional and beautifully curated, but what truly made the experience exceptional was the service. Erik went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, cared for, and completely at home. His warmth and professionalism set the tone from the start, and it really made all the difference. Can’t wait to return. Thank you, Erik and the La Valise team!
- O8083ITkevinc (10/5): Amazing Anniversary Weekend - La Valise CDMX exceeded our expectations in every way. The room and designs were elegant, thoughtful, and comfortable. What really stood out, however, was the level of service. Erik was an outstanding, incredibly attentive and genuinely committed to making our stay seamless. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mexico City!
- DJS39 (10/5): First class experience at La Valise - We had a wonderful stay at La Valise! We were in the Cilene Suite, which I can't recommend enough. The room was huge, with a wraparound plant-filled terrace that featured a bistro table (perfect for breakfast) and a bathtub (we did not partake). The bathroom is also large, with double sinks, a separate room for the commode, and a large open closet area. It looked exactly like the photos on the hotel's website.
Breakfast can be had at the La Valise Cafe, but you're not limited to the complimentary coffee and pastry from the hotel -- there's a full breakfast menu (not included) that's delicious. One morning we had a tray brought up to our room to enjoy on the terrace, and it was the perfect start to our day. The hotel is also minutes from Rosetta, so your pastry needs will be well met.
The front desk team (Adriana, Daniela, and Erick) was lovely and helpful, and arranged for a guide to take us to tour the pyramids (Elias is great). They checked in with us frequently to make sure we were having a good stay. When I requested a firmer bed pillow, they immediately sent one up. If we asked for extra bottled water, it was delivered in minutes. Turn down service featured different treats each night, and the housekeeping service was outstanding. The front desk team also arranged our travel to and from the airport, and drivers were on time and friendly.
Pro-tip: if you stay on a Saturday night, know that there's a club or bar nearby that may play LOUD techno music all night long and into the morning hours. Use the room's bluetooth speaker to play your favorite white noise sounds so you can sleep. Other than that one night, the area and hotel in general was quiet.
We would definitely return to La Valise for the staff, the suite, the cafe, and the location. Mexico City has so much to offer, and this hotel is an ideal home base.
- ShawnB298 (10/5): Where to stay in CDMX - Exquisite hotel. First class, very friendly service. An excellent place to stay when you’re exploring CDMX.
More words to meet the 100 word requirement.
- B9591DSemilyw (10/5): Probably not Favorite Boutique Hotel Ever - Beyond impressed with La Valise! The rooms are beautiful, beds are so comfy, and the staff was very accommodating. We even booked La Valise San Miguel after leaving Mexico City.
- N4984LObeths (10/5): Lovely stay in Roma Norte - La Valise is a gem in the center of Roma Norte. On a picturesque tree lined street, this boutique evokes old world charm with modern and eclectic twists. It is very design forward, and we had the opportunity to experience three of the unique rooms.
In August, the weather was temperate but our AC was broken so the hotel switched us to different rooms on the 3rd and 4th nights. They did a great job turning a potential problem into something rather delightful for the customer.
Highly recommend!
- Amy (10/5): Wonderful boutique hotel - Spacious Liked it all
- J9598JHleop (10/5): Romance in La Roma - Wonderful stay at La Valise. Roma and the surrounding neighborhood, La Condesa, are romantic, safe, and welcoming in every which way.
Excellent service, communication, and overall hospitality. The concierge team did an amazing job of providing recommendations and catering to our needs/requests.
We reserved a city and pyramids tour thru La Valise and that experience added so much to our stay! Shout out to tour guide Elias Herrera!
Will definitely be staying at La Valise again.
- christophersQ1520QJ (10/5): Fantastic time at La Valise! - We had the most fantastic stay at La Valise in the Moon Suite. The hotel is so well appointed and interesting, perfectly located in Roma Norte, and the staff were amazing. The breakfast snd coffee every morning were a wonderful start to our day. We will definitely be back and can’t recommend enough.
- markwD2157CT (10/5): A gem - right in the heart of Roma Norte - A lovely hotel. The best in CDMX! One of the best we’ve ever stayed in.
Staff - incredibly attentive and caring. They answered every question we threw at them. Their restaurant recommendations were perfect.
Room - we stayed in the Nova room. Creatively decorated and everything was well thought out. And a bed we never wanted to leave.
Location - right in the heart of Roma Norte. Walkable to all the things.
Food - we only ate the included breakfast and it was fantastic. A croissant, yogurt and fruit. And all the great coffee you can drink.
Highly recommended.
And Erik at the front desk was a star!!
- goingw2025 (10/5): Romantic stay in Roma Norte - If you are looking for a great place in Roma Norte for a 3/4 day stay, look no further. La Valise is in the perfect location to take in Roma. The rooms are unique and great for those special celebrations, like an anniversary or birthday. The staff is excellent , they make you feel at home with beautiful breakfasts and an adjacent coffee spot.
- AaronB1900 (10/5): You should stay at La Valise - La Valise is an incredible small hotel that embodies the best of Roma Norte and Mexico City: distinctiveness, style, and convenience. The staff are amazingly helpful, thoughtful, and attentive, we couldn’t have asked for more. Breakfast was delicious, and the coffee shop is awesome. I would highly recommend staying at La Valise!
- A3106XBericd (10/5): Fabulous luxury hotel - Our stay at La Valise was the definition of luxury. We were remarkably comfortable and every need was tended to. The room was gorgeous and had a lovely scent. In addition, the bed was very nice to sleep on! The housekeeping staff were attentive and included tasty treats with the turndown service each night. The included breakfast was delivered to our room and included coffee, fresh fruit, fresh pressed juices, croissants, and house made granola with yogurt - all was delicious. The shower was amazing and the furnishings were all fantastic. We were very pleased with our stay.
- PreBabyTravelers (10/5): Beautiful gem in Roma Norte - Amazing quaint boutique hotel right in Roma making you feel like you are part of the neighborhood. Elegant, unique and spotless rooms with service to match. Our front desk concierge were all amazing. So attentive, helpful and ready with any suggestions. The breakfast and attached coffee shop were gems in themselves. Perfect for a morning and afternoon espresso drink in the neighborhood.
Highly recommended.
- littleredidaho (10/5): The perfect luxury base camp in Roma - Fantastic little hotel on a quiet street in Roma Norte close to everything. Each room is unique and filled with interesting and quirky artwork. Ours, the Moon Room, was very spacious, with a large living area, tiled kitchen, amazing mirror-lined bathroom with a lovely soaking tub and super comfy bed with a projector TV. Staff was great; coffee shop next door (breakfast included) was great. No public area or restaurant to speak of but...who cares when you have CDMX out the door and a magnificent apartment to retreat to.
- Paul (10/5): - Great place in Roma Norte. Expensive, but worth it.
- megankA3591UF (10/5): Perfect Stay In Mexico City! - Our stay at La Valise Mexico City was incredible. The location in Roma Norte is perfect--tucked away on a quiet street but still in the heart of everything you need. The Moon Room is incredible! Each room is uniquely designed and it feels as if you are staying in a luxury apartment instead of a hotel. It is small and quaint, but has everything you need for a great stay. The cafe is attached to the hotel which makes it easy to enjoy breakfast. They have brand new spa facilities as well as a pool and cinema concept. Very creative spaces! What made the stay even more incredible was the staff. They contact you via whatsapp and stay connected throughout the stay, ensuring you have everything you need. They helped me organize a birthday surprise (decorations and tres leches cake) in our room upon arrival for my partner. Everything was so intentional and thoughtful. I highly recommend staying at this property for a unique stay in Mexico City.
- KRItaly1234 (10/5): Excellent in every way!! - Everything about the hotel was great. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I could not have been more pleased with the service. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The location was excellent and the attached cafe was a great addition! I would definitely recommend this hotel to any friend that was heading to Mexico City!!
- James (8/5): Very good - Great rooms and cafe Pool is small and dark
- spencerhK1392XB (10/5): Gorgeous Stay in Roma Norte - The design and unique layout of the rooms was one of the coolest hotels I've ever been to. The staff and service were also impeccable. I had such an amazing time exploring the area around the hotel with endless food and shopping spots. I can't wait to make my way back here.
- sean_ley (10/5): La Valise Mexico City - The La Valise boutique Hotel was excellent. My wife and I had a very welcoming stay and much of that is due to the staff as well as the beautiful accommodations. Rooms made you feel more like you were in your own private apartment versus a hotel room. Highly recommend.
- paulcA4622WC (10/5): Beautiful oasis right in the heart of the city! - This is a beautiful property, right in the middle of the historic city, yet a peaceful oasis when you walk into the beautiful courtyard. The staff - concierge and housekeeping- are all wonderful! Beautiful art and architecture! Highly recommended!
- Kamel (10/5): Exceptional place. Choose if you want very large comfortable rooms, great staff service and an optimal location. - Very large beautiful rooms.
Very friendly and accommodation staff.
Everyone from the concierge to housekeeping. Elevator wasn’t working but that’s obviously temporary.
- Jamesoestreicher (10/5): Great 5 day stay in San Miguel - Super nice experience, friendly knowledgable staff, great breakfast, quiet, central. We had the "Master Suite" for 5 days, decorated by Friedeberg (a hitorical artist). Could not recommend higher. We went to another hotel after and it was not comparable.
- 367lauriek (10/5): Wonderful Roma Norte boutique hotel! - Fabulous boutique hotel in Roma Norte. Well-appointed rooms with wonderful artwork and exceptional service. Adriana and Daniela took great care of us. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in, lovely sitting area and very nice bathroom with tub and shower. Very clean and the staff attended to our every need! Wonderful breakfast included in the small adjacent cafe or the staff will bring up for you to enjoy in your room. Location is perfect-off the busy street but a few minute walk to great shopping and restaurants. Ober rides away from wonderful city attractions. We cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It’s very special and we will return there in the future!
- czajkowska (10/5): Unparalleled experience - What a cool place! We stayed in Cilene suite and took advantage of the bed that you can roll out to the balcony and the outdoor bathtub.
The staff was extremely helpful - they were so thoughtful to pay for my street parking while I was getting organized, so that my car wouldn’t get towed.
We had an amazing experience including all the details: super comfy bed, blackout curtains, great shower, yummy breakfast, little sweet treats, great restaurant recommendations and so much more.
- Nancy (10/5): Perfect Stay - Breakfast was great
Concierge staff more than wonderful and personable. Lighting in bathroom.
- V2451UFwhitneys (10/5): A sparkling gem in a bustling city - The service is caring and conscientious, delicious breakfast served in the room every morning, beautifully appointed rooms that are unique and generously sized. All perfectly located in Roma Norte. You’ll get everything you need in this small, unique hotel.
- farzanac2025 (10/5): Great - The service à Ka Valuse was excellent. The staff Erik, Daniella, Adriana, jesus and Umberto were at our service.
Would have appreciated some snacks in the room. We were gappily provided some when we asked for it, an absolutely must. Highly reccomended. Keep up the good réputation
- Carolyn (10/5): Delightful and charming - The location was very good. This was our first time to Mexico City and the neighborhood was a good introduction. There were locals and tourists alike visiting the nearby restaurants and stores.
The management at the hotel was delightful. They could not have been more accommodating and kind. Just a word of caution to anyone physically impaired, that the hotel is in an old space. The stairs are a little steep and the room we stayed in had some uneven surfaces of the floors.
- Resort767965 (10/5): Mexico City Charm - A charming small boutique hotel with exceptional service. La Valise checked all the right boxes for a first visit to Mexico City. The staff could not have been more accommodating and warm. The interior was fun, quirky and delightful, decorated with unique furniture and art. The bed and bedding were very comfortable and the bathing facilities all good. The neighborhood offered good walking, shopping and a variety of places to eat.
- Eugenia (10/5): Beautiful, modern, artistic hotel in lively neighborhood - The hotel was incredibly gorgeous and the staff were very kind and welcoming. We stayed here to get married and were touched by how detail-oriented and helpful they were. We already loved Mexico City, but we enjoyed it even more after having such a wonderful experience staying here in the heart of Roma. Despite being in the heart of this lively neighborhood, we slept very soundly at night in the most comfortable beds imaginable. My only recommendation would be for the hotel to include slippers for guests as the beautiful wooden floors can carry dirt from our shoes. Other than that, it was perfect.
- Paula (10/5): - A lovely place!
- pamelab246 (10/5): Luxury, hospitality and comfort in the heart of Roma Norte. - This hotel is excellent. The hospitality cannot not be better. The hosts are warm and attentive. The rooms are spacious and so artistically embellished. The beds and bathrooms are clean and very comfortable. The cafe has wonderful breakfast and coffee throughout the day. The hotel is in the heart of Roma Norte, which has wonderful shops and restaurants. Museum campus is only a 10 minute cab ride. We had such a great experience and highly recommend this wonderful hotel!
- 268annettep (10/5): La Valise Mexico City - I would stay at La Valise again in a heartbeat
I would also recommend this small luxury boutique hotel group in Tulum or San Miguel. The rooms were exceptionally spacious and authentic; beds very comfortable and service was top notch from everyone. Adriana, the concierge arranged everything we needed to perfection. .
- Venture63051042982 (10/5): New Year’s at La Valise - What an incredible hotel, my partner & I had a 10/10 experience. The staff was beyond helpful throughout our entire stay. I got sick a few days into our trip & a hotel representative walked us to the nearby clinic and made sure a doctor was available to see me/help with translation.
The rooms are beautiful, we stayed in the Moon & Gravity suites. Each room is uniquely designed. Very clean spaces with complimentary breakfast, bottled water, beer and nightly snacks.
Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Location was great and just a few blocks down from many of the restaurants/shops we had on our bucket list. Can’t wait to return to La Valise!
- sdeadulus (10/5): Great place to explore the heart of Mexico City - Small boutique hotel set in a corner of Roma Norte. Not a lot of rooms. Brought a lovely continental breakfast everyday to our large well appointed room. Bathrooms were fantastic. All our tourist trips were within 30 minutes of the hotel. Staff were very friendly. The cafe downstairs gives complimentary coffee throughout your stay!
- Michele (9/5): Superb - Womderful breakfast
- Melissa (9/5): A relaxing stay in the heart of Roma Norte. Would recommend! - The room was lovely - nicely decorated, cozy, quiet. The complimentary breakfast in the attached coffee shop was delightful - fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, croissants and coffee. The space was quaint and peaceful - the perfect start to the day. We also took advantage of the in-hotel spa for a couple's massage. Worth it! We had a slight issue with housekeeping, but the hotel sorted everything out.
- Cassie (10/5): Exceptional -
- heidyv312 (10/5): Best hotel in Roma - Beautiful hotel! The staff go above and beyond to assist and provide the best experience. The moon suite was perfect and comfortable. Also, the hotel has a restaurant which we enjoyed every morning. Specially,
the banana bread. Best experience. We will be back!!! Thank you. -Heidy
- Maia (6/5): Beautiful but flawed - When we decided to splurge on an expensive luxury hotel, we expected a basic level of service. Like a working elevator. A room on the 2nd floor was problematic given my wife’s knee injury, and we were astonished to learn the elevator had been out for a month. The young staffers gamely hauled our bags up the steep stairs, but there wasn’t even a proactive offer to bring our bags downstairs the day we departed.
We were brought lactose-free milk with our breakfast, and when we asked for whole milk were told they didn’t have any. This was completely untrue - they run a cafe next door! The young lady told us it tasted exactly like regular milk - also untrue. It’s not a huge deal, but for $800/night, service should be without problems. The cleaning staff was excellent, and the front desk friendly. It just didn’t seem like anyone was really in charge.
- Jennifer (10/5): Charming and relaxing stay - Design was charming. Staff was warm and helpful. Fantastic location in the idyllic neighborhood of Roma Norte. Be ready to climb some stairs, there is no elevator
- Jonathan (10/5): - A Magical Boutique Stay in the Heart of Roma Norte
We recently stayed at La Valise Mexico, and it exceeded all of our expectations. My wife, who has a deep appreciation for boutique hotels, was particularly excited to stay here, and the experience truly delivered. The location in Roma Norte is perfect—right in the middle of one of Mexico City’s most vibrant and artistic neighborhoods, with fantastic restaurants, cafes, and galleries just steps away.
We stayed in the Atlas room, which was beautifully designed and incredibly spacious. The room felt like a perfect blend of luxury and local artistry, with thoughtful, stylish details everywhere you looked. The large, comfortable bed and chic sitting area created a warm, inviting atmosphere that made it hard to leave the room.
The attention to detail at La Valise is impeccable, each room was very unique from what we saw but Atlas was our favorite and we enjoyed its great rooftop views and outside shower.
If you're looking for a unique, luxurious boutique hotel in Mexico City, La Valise is the perfect choice.
- R4robyn (10/5): Artistic Luxury - Loved the decor and balcony. Great location to eateries and beautiful historic part of city
- Kamuda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (7/5): Short trip to Mexico city - Beautiful room and good location Breakfast wasn’t good. One croissant to share between two people with a few fruits and yogurt
- Katie (6/5): Pleasant - Interesting design Lots of mosquitos
- Emma (8/5): Very good - It’s a beautiful place to stay The water heat was inconsistent
- Matthew (5/5): Great hotel - poor experience for us - The room was stunning and in a good neighbourhood. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived even though we got to the hotel 3.5hrs after the room was supposed to be ready. Some of the staff also were not very helpful and a little rude.
- TERRI (10/5): - Loved everything about this property. Would highly recommend.
- Gabriela (10/5): - Beautiful property , perfect location , excellent hospitality
- Jeannette (10/5): - I adored this hotel! Our room was spacious, clean and charming. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating throughout our entire stay. The neighborhood has a ton of shopping & restaurants and the hotel is in the middle of it all (yet on a quiet block). I will definitely stay at this property again when I’m back in CDMX.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Loved everything!! The rooms are amazing, the beds are like clouds. There are personal touches like breakfast served in the room, a mezcal night cap and little notes that make the stay so special. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, they really make the stay even more special and a cut above any other hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It was all perfect
- Dawn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claudia (4/5): Disappointing - We arrived at the hotel which was fully under construction. I wish this was communicated or reflected in the price . There are no communal areas , no reception , no breakfast room or library . Everything is under construction. Hot water didn’t work and had to be fixed both morning and evenings . We were pretty much confined in our room which was on a second treacherous floor without an elevator . Upon arrival we were informed that our room was swapped , we were given a different room from what we booked - not OK La Valise .
It was similar but not what we paid for . Additionally the staff told us our tea, fruit and yoghurt will be brought in the room ( not a 5 star hotel breakfast ) but then forgot about our breakfast and early check out . All in all , if we were told from the outset that this hotel was being renovated and had limited amenities or if the nuisance was reflected in the price we would have decided whether to stay there or not . Probably not but we would have at least had a choice . While the freshly painted room had a very heavy paint smell which made us extra uncomfortable was nice , it was half the size of the one we booked . At the time of writing this La Valise is definitely not a 5 star hotel and the room is definitely not worth £495 pounds , it’s more of an Airbnb experience in a nice house . All of the above.
- Jonah (10/5): - Very fun and original hotel. Our room was huge and the staff was great. Would recommend it to anyone.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was responsive, accommodating, and friendly. Greta views and service.
- Leah (10/5): Charming stay - Wonderful two-night stay for my husbands birthday. The neighborhood is wonderful, the location great, the room beautiful. The daily breakfast was a treat. Just know the hotel is slim townhouse/brownstone so stairs to rooms so not ideal for those with mobility issues. Thank you for great weekend!
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Yongjia (10/5): Exceptional - La Valise is one of our favorite hotels. My husband and I stayed at El Patio suite and loved everything about it. The room was spacious, the interior design was impeccable, the bed was so comfortable that it felt like sleeping on the cloud. The location was central and close to all the best restaurants.
Last but not least is the wonderful hospitality. Gabriela and Gustavo were so kind and helpful. They made our stay very special.
Will definitely come back. None.
- Päivi (10/5): Fabulous! - The hole staff was so helpful and tried to make our stay pleasant as possible. La Valise was homely but still most luxurious! We really enjoyed our stay and send many thanks to Gabriela, Cesar,Eric and Sandy!
- Antoinette (10/5): Great location and a home stay vibe - Location and quality of rooms. Funky modern but not flash Amazing staff particularly Gabriela
- Graves (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was excellent and went out of their way to provide service. Very friendly, courteous and professional.
The interior design of rooms and furnishings were fantastic. Bathroom design was especially stunning.
- Germán (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roberta (10/5): Exceptional boutique hotel in a different part of town than we stayed previously. - free coffee next door was certainly interesting and good breakfast
very friendly and helpful staff - responded quickly to anything that we needed
Boutique hotel with exceptional charm and interest.
All the bottled water that we needed which is always nice in Mexico can't think of anything off hand
- Samantha (8/5): - Great boutique hotel, friendly and accommodating staff, interior decorations were a cool vibe, great safe location near a lot of bars and restaurants. Our only slight “negative” was that they are expanding and doing a lot of construction next door so it was pretty loud but that won’t be forever. Overall, we had a really great stay and would go back!
- Krantz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Duane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alex (10/5): Pure Magic- You Must Experience It For Yourself - We loved every aspect of this extraordinary property, from the extremely personalized attention (only three rooms in the hotel!) and kind, generous, helpful staff, to the gorgeous, unique space that feels more like a sumptuously appointed luxury apartment than a hotel room, complete with lovely artistic details everywhere you look. La Roma is a special neighborhood in a special city and we genuinely could not think of a better place from which to explore all that it has to offer. We had no complaints whatsoever about La Valise but a few details to keep in mind:
-there's no elevator and even the 1st floor room has a flight of stairs in case of accessibility issues.
-this is not a place to have a party! The charm and history of this building does mean that sound travels, and you are very understandably asked to be respectful of your fellow guests with regards to noise levels at night. This really won't be a problem unless you were dedicated to going nuts though.
- Rachel (10/5): Stunning location and super lovely, helpful staff -
- Aimee (10/5): excellent. very pleased. great staff and beautiful property. - beautiful space in a great area. noise carried in the building. it wasn’t a major issue for us but we could hear the people above us at times.
