Guest Reviews
- Jennie (10/5): - good food. older facility
- Ryan (8/5): - Food at attached lounge was good.
- Cailey (10/5): - Small town but very simple. Enjoyed our stay no complaints!
- Allison (6/5): Ugh - Tired property with a number of "long-term residents". Outrageous price for what it is, but is the only option for 50 miles in any direction.
- Teresa (6/5): - Staff was excellent but bathroom had loose dirt and grime built up behind the door. Bed was comfy though
- William W (8/5): - New owner since last visit
Everyone friendly + cordial
- Michael (2/5): - No continental breakfast. Almost all outside lighting is not working. Unable to tell where the front entrance is at night. Front desk lady was very rude. Concrete parking is a trip hazard. Bathtub fixture pulled out from the wall.
At a $130 per night we were expecting a lot nicer location. This area for a decent stay is around $70 a night.
- Tammi (6/5): - The staff was very very nice. On the website it says there is a complimentary breakfast and on Expedia it said there was complimentary breakfast but there is NO complimentary breakfast! If you are leaving early and have a big day and there are seven people in your party and thought you were getting breakfast and suddenly have to start looking for one, it leaves a bad taste (pun intended) in your mouth
- Cory (6/5): - Alright only motel in town
- Reid (10/5): - Solid rooms. Great food.
- Cory (8/5): - Nice little hotel
- Linda (10/5): - Clean, nice staff, i enjoyed my stay
- Michael (10/5): - The only negative was the WiFi quality. The room was fine, the staff was friendly, the restaurant (lounge) food was delicious. Roxy was an excellent and personable bartender/server. For limited options in Cavalier, this place was outstanding.
- Christine (8/5): - The bed was new and very comfortable. Hot shower. Nice team.
- Kelly (8/5): - Very convenient
- Aaron (10/5): Decent stay just over pay and didn’t honor thepric - It was a decent stay
- Murray (8/5): - Everything was fine, just what we needed for a one night stay
- Gordon (10/5): - The staff were very accommodating. We needed a first floor room and they were able to make that happen. Also we left some clothes in a drawer at checkout and they mailed them to us.
- Bryan (4/5): Good luck Cedar Inn motel!!’ - Never staff at desk, bathroom tub was full of mold, no lid on toilet and no drain plugs… no latch lock on door…only thing good was the mattress! It was continently located for our needs, but we will look around for another spot to lay our heads in the future!
- Wilma (8/5): - Simple and basic
- Larry (10/5): - Very helpful staff! They have a light breakfast which was a nice surprise! Rooms are nice, clean, and have the amenities I need and look for. (I know, I know! Never end your sentence with a proposition!)
- Lindsay (8/5): - Comfortable stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): Towels - Towels were a little thin but clean. Otherwise every thing was fine.
- Barb (6/5): - Needs to serve a much better breakfast with more of a variety of foods
- Olivier (2/5): les photos de hôtel sur le site ne correspond pas - hôtel sale , chambre pas nettoyer , personnel absent, petit déjeuner restreint
- Kieran (10/5): - Friendly staff. Very convenient that there was a very good restaurant and bottle shop attached.
- Keith (10/5): - It’s the only place in town, so I was just happy to have the option. Staff was friendly and helpful. The place was clean, if a bit dated. The price was reasonable and they had the added convenience of an attached a liquor store with a few snacks. Bar/Restaurant attached too, but I arrived too late to take advantage of that
- KELLY (8/5): - The hotel was clean.
- Jerald (8/5): - Restaurant & bar closed - lack of adequate staff. Desk was closed after 5 PM - lack of staff. Liquor store was open. Breakfast limited. Staff that I dealt with were friendly & helpful. Room clean.
- Curtis (8/5): - Good
- Andrew (8/5): - Restaurant staff was friendly. Food was good.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - When checking in the woman at the front counter was rude.. if that was my business i would let her go.. As i had a complaint she was very rude with her response.. The owner fixed the problem but he really should not keep rude staff around bad for business. If i was ever to return i would not like to see her at my checking
- Patricia (4/5): Only so-so - Very dated; bed and pillow not comfortable( room was musty. Tissue box was rusty.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice clean rooms. Breakfast was good. Parking lot could use work.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cavalier is a beautiful place to visit with friends and family. It has lots to offer for people to do and see.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There was nothing unique about this property. Quite dated. Signs falling apart. Room was ok. Quiet and pretty clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - friendly people a very acomadating place, good food conneted to hotel. Breakfast not much
- Richard (4/5): - I don't think they even changed the sheets in the 2 weeks,
HVAC systems inadequate, lucky to have garbage removed each day
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is a good choice for the area! Beds were very comfortable, Service is great. Food could be better. Air conditioners have a funny smell. Overall decent place to stay.
- Dalinah (8/5): Decent Place - Decent place to stay, not much around the area
- Susan (8/5): Clean, Quiet, & Convenient - Clean, quiet and convenient. Pleasant stay.
- Sherry (10/5): - Great place to stay. Everything on site. Restaurant, bar, casino and liquor store
The check in staff very friendly and the owners worked in the bar/restaurant and were great.
- Verified traveler (8/5): T’was. - T’was a place to stay in Cavalier.
- John (8/5): Simple and quiet. - Simple, comfortable, quiet. The one thing I would offer as an improvement is that the commercially prepared hard boiled eggs appeared to be past their best use date. As the only protein option available, that was a disappointment.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great place and nice people. Wish they would deliver from the lounge/grill into the hotel! It is attached!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The family that owns Cedar Inn are wonderful people!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Cedar Inn is walking distance to down town Cavalier. Many new upgrades. Restaurant and bar has everthing you need at reasonable prices. Nick and his wife and staff are great people and always willing to go the extra mile. This was our 9th time staying there and will be returning again.
- Mary (8/5): - Very good. The town is near the border so there is always going to be the possibility for some riff raff in an area like that. Probably one of the most beautiful little towns I have seen!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Recommend, clean hotel, friendly staff.small town, only hotel.
- Nathaniel (8/5): - Nice little hotel...a bit tough getting ahold of desk attendant some times, but clean and well priced.
- RH (10/5): - Nice place for a small town. Large room. Restaurant/lounge attached.
- Brenda (8/5): - Nice clean comfortable beds. Good rates. Good food at the attached restaurant / lounge. Stayed to golf and course is beautiful 9 hole by the park.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked that u could stay in and order a meal take it back to ur room or just sit in the lounge and eat.
- LC (6/5): Beds were hard. - It was decent place to stay, with a restaurant attached to the hotel.
However, The beds in our room (#101) were VERY hard....not just firm, but HARD.
Front desk lady was very personable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Visiting friends and relatives - Very helpful staff, very nice to have a restaurant and bar attached.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bed was hard and no hot water. But they did move us to another room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Better setting for a meat locker!! - Our stay at the hotel was miserably uncomfortable. The lobby was too cold to eat stale breakfast offerings. The room was cold and the heating unit did not work properly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was sufficient for my needs
- Janet (6/5): Needs a dose of TLC - Just okay. Older Inn that needs sprucing up--brightening up. Breakfast was sparse. Quaint town is within walking distance. Great museum on RT 5 is a few miles away--across from Icelandic State Park.
- Evette (6/5): Good for a stop over - Everything was clean but the room was quite musty smelling when we arrived, that seemed to clear up after we opened the window for a couple of hours. The hotel is old and could do with some updating and the coffee at the provided breakfast was terrible (didn't have anything else). Cavalier is a beautiful little town.
- Bill (8/5): Cedar good - Good, clean quiet location. Nice room. Good service.
Would use again without question
- Robert (8/5): Hidden Secret - Everything you need in a motel, good was great and everything else was a short walk away.
- Fran (6/5): Great price - My room had been remodeled since my last visit a few years ago so was clean and comfortable. For the price, you can't beat it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bingo! - This is an unusual hotel with lots of character. The building is quite dated and the rooms have a renovated dormitory feel. My room was adjacent to a hardware store. The rooms are dark, comfortable, and quiet. There is a bar, restaurant, and hardware store attached to the hotel so you don't have to go out for anything. The food in the restaurant is very good and the drinks strong. I played Bingo on Thursday night with many others for a substantial sum. I would stay here again.
- No Name (6/5): Old and out dated - The hotel is old and out dated - but at least it's clean. There is not a toilet seat cover, or drain plug in the bath tub. Limited counter space in the bathroom. It has old scratchy out dated quilts on the beds.
The heat worked well. The room had a fridge and a microwave. I was just thankful there were clean sheets and the room over all was clean - just old.
