Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and nice property
- Joe (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent stay great location for Eden project really friendly atmosphere. Great parking. Would
Stay again only issue was finding it on arrival at night instructions given aren’t correct but a kind security guard helped us out.
- DDF (10/5): - Very interesting concept, I highly recommend it. We arrived the evening before visiting the project and wandered leisurely around the grounds, so pleased we did this
- Aidan (8/5): Cheap and pleasant enough.. great location. - I had 5 nights here, for £145, I cant complain too much. They're private little pods, sleep 4. I was on my own. Could be a tight fit for 4 like. Own shower and toilet is the benefit here. Freeview tv. A/C.
However the fire alarm went off at 11:45pm the first night, this is warned in the room, so someone woke us all up. Smelt fowsty, maybe the room hadn't been used. Also not sure on the 'enhanced cleaning', when there was still visible cobwebs lol. Compared to Thorpe Shark Hotel which is identical... the upkeep of theirs is way better. In general, it was okay :) Central-ish location in Cornwall, enough amenities near by in St Austell. ID is required on check in! I slept fine anyway, par from night 1. Would I come again? Possibly.
- William (8/5): - There was no WiFi in rooms like it said when I booked but everything else was satisfactory.
- Andrew (10/5): eden project hostel - Could not fault helpful and friendly staff great location and plenty of parking first time in a hostel as well
- Verified traveler (6/5): A sad ending for a great place - It's a superb idea, a number of small "pods" with everything you need for a short stay while visiting the Eden Project. And the YHA staff are absolutely lovely. Unfortunately, they are stopping working with the people who run the pods because they aren't looking after the place very well, and they're closing at the end of October 2020. Our toilet/shower door was stuck and required brute force to move it. Also, the TVs have not been working for some time, something we only discovered on arrival. All that said, it was only £29 for the night and we got a comfortable sleep. Hopefully new owners will take it over next year, because we've stayed there before and it's such a great idea.
- Caroline (8/5): - The staff and setting were great. Everything was as you woukd expect from a YHA accomadation.
I enjoyed the experiance of staying in a shipping container.
I only have one negative , i feel that if the window in the door was a port hole ( that could be opened) the air circulation woukd have better suited me.
- Tina (6/5): Strange - Never stayed in a YHA before and don't think it is for me, strange sleeping in a pod portaloo with toilet, smelly, joined on with other pods, bed moves when people walk past your pod on the flooring outside. Room and outside look nothing like the photo on this site, need updating.
Need more than one receptionist, waited in the queue 35 mins just to get a drink, as lots of people were checking in, be good if the person making the pizzas could serve drinks too at the other window. Good thing was the location on site for the Eden Project.
- Jim (8/5): al for your money - Staff was friendly and helpful and facilities were excellent was disappointed with no signal with phone or television And the location
- L (8/5): Comfy but cramped. Plumbing is incredibly noisy - The rooms are in converted shipping containers so space is at a premium however everything was clean and cleverly laid out. Whilst the room can sleep 4 the space constraints make it even tight for 2 people to move around especially with luggage on the floor. The bathroom is quite cramped but water was hot with good pressure. The plumbing does make incredibly loud noises when the shower, sink or flush is in use however, almost like hte sound of a jet engine. This is very obvious when your neighbour uses it too! That said the bed is surprisingly comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Compact, cheap and quirky accommodation, great location just for one night to visit the Eden Project. Staff very helpful. Make sure you take ID as we were asked to show it for all guests on arrival and wasn’t expecting this...luckily we had some!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent place to stay for the money and in a great location; not only is it in the beautiful Eden project, it has a very regular bus service straight to St. Austell's bus/train station making exploring the area a breeze if you don't take a car.
Rooms a small, but well presented and have everything you need and the communal kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals should you wish. There's also prepared food available in the morning and evening if you wish, though the menu is limited.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be staying there again.
- Carol (8/5): Lovely setting - but not as quiet as expected. - Great location for a holiday - but not the best for relaxing when you've had a busy day working. Private room was very compact (so not great if you're claustrophobic). Cafe area near reception was loud because of wind and weather (not YHA fault). Comfortable bed and bonus of TV in room. Heating and water system were noisy and fire alarm decided to start beeping after just minutes in shower. Staff lovely and welcoming and very friendly atmosphere - but not the most restful place to be.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great little pit stop for a visit to Eden. No illusions, it isn't a 5 star hotel but it did the job nicely.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hostel is made up of rows of ensuite pods. Ours was spotless and comfortable. A great cheap place to stay. Its a little difficult to find and the surrounding roads could do with better signage. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
- TSZ LOK (8/5): - A big pantry very clean room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, very friendly and practical. My only problem was that the extractor fan in my room was very load droning noise, which went off for hours after I switched off the light.
- Lissie (10/5): - Comfy, very clever use of space for storing luggage, really enjoyed our stay, look forward to returning!
- Wendy (10/5): Superb!!!!!! - Couldn't fault our accommodation!
Very different experience, but so enjoyable.
So much room in our snooze box - very impressed!
The staff are so welcoming & knowledgeable.
Would highly recommend & we're definitely staying again!!
