- Szilvia (8/5): - Advantage: The location. The room was ok. Mattresses, beddings were comfortable. However the bunkbed is can be quite challanging/uncomfortable if someone tall just like my husband. He hit his head many times during our stay. We could hear noises such cracking floor as walking above floor or people coming or going and slammed the door. But again this is a hostel and for the price and the location may need to sacrifice from your comfort. The breakfast was a good portion. Other options e.g. vegan, gluten free.... available. Staff are helpful and kind. Disadvantage: no free or discounted parking with the booking. A bit overpriced as almost the same price what I paid for the room. BUT it is convenient, next to the hostel and all night has a parking officer there.
- Denise (10/5): - Fantastic location across the road from Snowdon Mountain. We parked a few miles away for £15. For the entire weekend and then took the Sherpa bus to the front of the hostel. Great food. Loved it. Clean and warm.

- Olga (10/5): - Staff is helpful and lovely, property is right next to 2 mountain trails so extremely convenient; also right next to carpark so extremely accessible via public transport (one bus from rail station to and fro, as well as bus to Llanberis should you wish to explore the village). Rooms are clean, cosy, and warm. Shared shower has warm water, but would recommend bringing your own slippers to wear while in shower. Overall a super healing trip with breathtaking views - YHA making the experience comfortable and convenient.

We love the location and the staff are very friendly but it’s time to close it for a few weeks and refurbish it because if it gets worse we will start looking for other places to stay.

Bathrooms and communal kitchen all also clean and functional . Great to have. Parking can be a expensive but options to park locally and bus but make sure you check the timetables. Its simple but clean and convenient
- Laura (2/5): Stressful experience in beautiful location - Have stayed here several times previously before Covid, as location is beautiful, but this is first time back since then, and arrived to find the car park cordoned off. After asking at reception where it's possible to park, was told that as a large group is arriving late the next morning, the car park has been cordoned off to allow them to park there. Our booking was for only one night, and explained that planned to leave at the check out time of 10am, before the coach was due to arrive, but was told that still could not park there. Staff were polite, but there seemed to be mixed communications, as at first was told it may be possible to park there, then later not, and felt like was treated as a second class guest to group bookings as an individual booking. We were told that the park and ride in Nant Peris was an option, but we drove there, and did not feel secure leaving the car a few miles away in an unmanned remote car park with expensive camping gear inside, so ended up spending almost 3 hours driving around looking for options, and asking the advice of the car park opposite (which can only be booked online and would've cost £40, the same price as the room, defying the whole point of staying in a budget hostel). After coming back and forth to the hostel and asking the staff several times about parking options, a man said we could park in the staff car parking space, as long as car was moved by 6:45am the next morning (even though was previously told no)

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed here overnight with family while on a road trip. Just wanted something cheap and basic but it turned out to be so much more. Our room was basic with bunk beds and a big bathroom. The room was comfortable and fairly quiet but it is a hostel so is basic and you don’t get towels (but it only costs £2.50 to hire one). The reception area has a bar and you can also buy snacks. The staff are very helpful and friendly. You have to pay for parking across the street as there is none around but it’s only cheap. The best part about this place is waking up to the amazing views. We stuck around the next day to take in the breathtaking area and mountain views. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for something cheap and simple with stunning views.

We booked to stay one night before climbing Mount Snowdon and my only criticism is our room was above the bar area and it was quite loud due to people drinking and shouting, which made sleeping a bit difficult.

Rooms and showers were clean, self catering kitchen was amazingly kitted out, dinner served till 8:30 and breakfast available. The beds were comfortable and the bedding clean. Perfect for a hiking stop over - a good winter alternative to camping. Will definitely come back.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Location, location, location - It wasn't bad as far as youth hostels go but unfortunately one of the staff didn't seem very happy to be there and everything we asked for was an issue which spoilt things. The other staff were lovely at all times. Not much sleep was achieved due to doors banging constantly, barrels being changed and bottles being thrown out into the bins. The light in the bathroom took around 30-40 mins to go off so you couldn't sleep until it had eventually turned itself off. You are definitely paying for location here.

- Roger (10/5): Pen Y Pass Winter Holiday - Pen Y Pass hostel was a great place to stay for a few days. Staff were very helpful and everywhere was clean and tidy and it's location couldn't be better for access to the Pyg Track and The Miners track. It was busy at the weekend but quiet during the week although this was in Winter, so I'd think once the season starts, its probably booked solid.

- Arkady (8/5): Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink - Not as good as previous stay but still good. Advised on checkin there was no gas, hence no food, not a big deal for us as we had eaten. Sadly were not advised that none of the water was drinkable at the hostel. Hence got up in the morning and went to get some water only to find notices telling everyone it was not drinkable. Decided to be cleaver and go to the self catering kitchen and boil some. The internal door to the other wing would not let me through. As this was before reception opened and we were miles from any shops I cant say I was too happy. Would have been nice to have been told at checkin that there was an issue to I could have made provisions.

- David (10/5): - Haven’t stayed in a youth hostel since I was a kid but i was pleasantly surprised. It’s the perfect place to stay for a few days hiking in the mountains. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, good facilities and decent food. I’d definitely recommend and stay again in the future.
