Guest Reviews
- Beverly (8/5): The staff could be friendlier as far as front desk the housekeeping was outstanding and like I said not having a contine - It’s always well-maintained and a beautiful location They did not have continental breakfast, but because it’s so relaxing there and it’s a beautiful place that wasn’t a dealbreaker
- Richard (7/5): -
- MARK (7/5): We will be looking for other hotels in the area. - Room was clean and comfortable No restaurant anymore; no electrical outlets working on one wall; electric security locks difficult to open; no staff around in the evening.
- April (10/5): - Friendly staff and spacious rooms. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
- Marylou (10/5): It was perfect location, close to Marsh Walk and restaurants and just 3.5 miles to Brookgreen Gardens - Location Nothing
- Tony Bowman (8/5): -
- Lee (9/5): -
- Leslie (7/5): Great location but extremely overpriced - Location, cleanliness and staff were great. The safety and area was also great. The hotel style for the location is cute and coastal. Easy check in and out. The price I paid for this room was outrageous for what it was! Hotel check in is way too late in the day and check out is way too early and especially for the price. There are some little cosmetic interior building fixes that should be addressed. Examples, elevator paint chipping, art in the room held up with masking tape, pictures hung crooked. The bathroom shower fixture was the most confusing thing I ever seen. Why so many shower heads and oddly angled? I think there was five. Also with a very strange way of turning everything on. The water temperature is set to lukewarm at best. I get that you don’t want people to get burnt but room temperature water out of your shower is not desirable. The extra sofa bed had no sheets provided for it in the room. The garage disposal in the suite didn’t work at all. The toilet handle had to be held down for a long spell in order for enough water to fill and actually flush. Then the tank itself had an issue with the inside assembly to actually fill up again. We had to take the lid off and jiggle it to get it to properly fill. The soap that is provided in the shower and sink is horrible, it doesn’t lather and smells bad. Even if it had been good it’s at best like a tablespoon size that is provided. I certainly hope the hotel is at least paying their friendly staff well with all the cost cutting of conveniences passed on the guests.
- Jeff (8/5): -
- Sharon (8/5): The only complaint was the bed. The mattress was too firm! -
- Barbara (9/5): Perfect. - It is a beautiful place, I have stayed there many times over the years & so convenient. I especially love that it is a suite! I liked everything.
- Mitchell (10/5): Went for the couples golf school. Was fanastic....www.bestgolfschools.com -

- Charles (9/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): - Nice area, good restaurant right next door, friendly and accommodating staff.
- Jen (10/5): - Very very nice staff. As a single woman traveling I felt very safe. The front desk staff remembered me from day to day and were very helpful. It is in a great location. The rooms are big and spacious. Great, full stocked kitchen (even had a blender).
- Stuart (10/5): - Rooms are awesome , building is in great shape. Walkable to good restaurants and bars to the left of the building for tourists and a younger crowd and a nice local restaurant to the right . We will always stay here when we have a mini break ( we live 2.5 hrs away ) . It’s great proximity to Myrtle , our favorite Brookgreen gardens and Huntington Beach park . Really nice rooftop viewing area for sunrise and sunset , and if you want to stay on the cheap the kitchenette and refrigerator are just like your home so you could save money by eating in ! If it had 6 stars I’d check that box . That’s my 2 cents have a great stay !
- Alexandria (10/5): - My little family stayed here for our 9 month old’s first vacation. It was clean, the staff was precious, and the room was very large, easily big enough for a pack and play and a portable rocker. We love Murrell’s Inlet, but this was our first time at this lodge, and I’m pleased to say we would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- Julie (10/5): - Great accommodation’s!
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Great lodge feel and and fun suites to enjoy a quick morning getaway. Roof deck and walk was closed and there was no breakfast services but would stay here again many more times. Great fun area to stay
- Christy (10/5): Great staff and lively hotel. - So charming and different from the cookie cutter hotel. The management and staff were outstanding.
- Dykan (10/5): - Really enjoyed my stay here.
- charles (10/5): - Very friendly people. Everything was clean and well equipped.
- Jerri (8/5): - Linda at front desk was so nice and helpful. The room was very clean and the kitchenette was well stocked. We stayed four nights so the full size refrigerator was nice. The room and en-suite were tastefully decorated and quite comfortable. The downside for us (but may not be for others) is that it’s actually too quiet. Although there was a courtyard with a nice outdoor bar and seating, it wasn’t in use. There weren’t many other people staying there while we were there possibly because of the overcast weather. I had hoped we’d be able to hang out with guests over a drink in the courtyard or pool. The attached but independent restaurant, Costas, was delicious and also tastefully decorated with friendly staff/servers. The lodge lobby is quiet and lovely but again no one was around so it was too quiet. The location is terrific to visit the Marsh Walk and to drive into Litchfield and Pawleys Island. I’d definitely stay again because it’s clean, decorated nicely, close to the Marsh Walk, and the friendly service.
- Maria (10/5): - Lovely property, quiet and clean. I enjoyed having the complimentary coffee in the morning. The bed was extremely comfortable. And it's a short walk to an excellent Italian restaurant (literally right next door). Would definitely stay there again.
- Al (10/5): Great stay - The beds were very comfortable and the room had all the amentities needed for our trip. The room was immaculately clean.
- Christine (10/5): - Bed is good. Great restaurant next door.
- Denise (10/5): - What a great find! We have been coming to Myrtle Beach for 30+ yrs and were looking for a quiet overnight stay before we met up with family for our annual vaca. The last couple of places we’ve stayed were so noisy. Willow Lodge is a gem. It is very quiet, room was clean (I’m very picky about cleanliness), very nice courtyard for relaxing.
The costa restaurant is right next door. Very convenient and the food was delicious. A little pricey but the food and service were excellent. I suggest you make a reservation.
We enjoyed our stay so much, next year we are planning on staying a few days.
- Marilyn (4/5): Dirty pool!! - Willow Lodge was nice older place to stay. The studio apartment was nice but the pool area was not! The pool ‘looked nice from a distance’ but needed to be cleaned and I didn’t use it.
- Colleen (10/5): We used to live in the area and always dined at the restaurant next to the resort. We enjoyed the lodge and the location - The room was clean and well appointed for our stay. We struggled a bit with the press button key lock as the screen didn’t always light all the way up. We mastered it by the time we left.
- Brent (2/5): - AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!
Room smelled horrible, the bed felt like it had been slept in, sheets were not crisp. The lobby is seedy, the pool is tiny. I can't understand how this place has received such high ratings.
- Priscilla (6/5): - We have stayed there twice in the past when it was inlet sports lodge. Now that it is Willow Lodge, it has not been upgraded in a while. The signage is still the old signs and it feels a bit neglected. It used to serve breakfast, but that is no longer available. The room door locks were difficult to work. The rooms used to be vibrant and tropical. Now all beige and poor quality brown bedspreads.
- Tomas (9/5): Nice place to stay -
- Renee (2/5): - Lobby and room had funky smell. Checked out a day early because of it. Room looked wry
Outdated. Wasted money for last day. I think I was the only person there.
- Bethann (6/5): not much changed from Sports Inlet to Willow - It was ok. not much changed. this year we were on the bottom floor and the room smelled musty. We stayed only a day so it wasn’t bad.
I wish the new management would change the annoying shower spouts. There are 4 jets that spray all over, and a shower head. it’s confusing and annoying to simply figure out how to take a normal shower.
management did change the locks from keys to cyphers, which didn’t matter to us
- bbg130 (8/5): No drastic changes from the Inlet Lodge to the Willow. - Now called the Willow, nothing much has changed except all the doors have codes now instead of keys.
This year we are on the first floor and the room smells musty, but it’s clean and we are staying only 1 night.
- Shawn (10/5): - It’s close to everything
- Anayely (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay
- Ivan (10/5): - Nice place for the price
- Tony (10/5): - This place is great! Beautiful room, so clean, comfortable and bright and a nice pool area. Conveniently located to everything. Front desk staff so friendly. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!
- Robert (8/5): - Great place clean and location to great.
- Emily (9/5): -
- Keith (10/5): Definitely worth the trip - We stayed at Willow Lodge for a quick weekend trip! The lodge is located in Murrels inlet and was close to all the seafood restaurants and the Marshwalk! We loved the location because we enjoy listening to live music and eating seafood. We spent one day at Garden City Beach and one day at Huntington Beach but returned to Willow Lodge to relax before heading out to the Marshwalk! We would definitely stay here again based on the location alone! It was quiet and cozy. We enjoyed The Costa restaurant located directly beside the lodge! The filet was fantastic!
- Keith (8/5): - The sheets are a very high quality, but the mattresses are very hard. There are so many quality mattress options that are not super expensive. The hotel would be so much better with that upgrade.
- Tsavdar (7/5): Inlet Lodge Where Are you??? - The rooms. The new changes. No breakfast. No welcome water. The rooms had cheap locks on the door.
- Sheryl (10/5): - The room and the bathroom are extremely nice. There’s a microwave, two burner stovetop and a full size refrigerator in addition to a small table and an upholstered chair set. Linda, at the front desk during the daytime is absolutely delightful!
- nate (10/5): Highly recommend! - Wonderful stay! Wife and I stayed 1 night for a quick getaway from the kids. The stay was very friendly & helpful, the room was spacious with a kitchenette including a full sized refrigerator. Comfy surroundings, we’d stay again!
- Ryan S (10/5): - The property offered old world charm with significant room updates.
- TRACY (8/5): - We stayed here many times when it was Inlet Sports Lodge. They no longer serve free breakfast and it’s not as super clean as it used to be. Lobby smells a bit like cigars. Still very nice room and comfortable. Also a great location. Not sure why but the place was empty.
- Autumn (10/5): - We had a great stay nice restaurants a short distance away.
- Johnny (10/5): - Was great
- David (10/5): - Very nice place!
- John (10/5): Stay here! - Great, clean place to stay in Murrells Inlet
- Dana (10/5): - Super convenient and super friendly staff. Linda was amazing and very helpful with providing beach information for my son and I!
- Daniel (10/5): - Linda was amazing!
- Maggiejc1 (10/5): Wondferful Experience - This is now The Willow Lodge. The room was large and very clean, Full size refrigerator, microwave etc. The king size bed was very comfortable and my daughter & husband loved the shower! There is a Keurig coffee maker in the room as well as free coffee and tea in the lobby. The best part of our visit was Linda at the front desk! She made our whole vacation one of our best memories ever! She was super accommodating, knowledgeable about the area as well as the property and her customer service is beyond compare - many categories above excellence! We also experienced her going above & beyond not only for us but also for many of the other guests that we saw in the lobby whenever we passed by.
Check in was professional, fast and friendly and we were even able to check in early. I hate to admit but I did not get her name She was very helpful with all of our questions.
We enjoyed relaxing by the quiet clean pool shaded by a majestic grand old Oak tree and talking to other travelers that were relaxing here
Tons of excellent customer service, professionalism, caring and southern charm throughout this property. Don't miss out on this very unique experience.
- Lexie (10/5): - We booked this property for a last minute 4th of July trip and it was absolutely perfect! Great area, convenient to all the restaurants in the inlet. Staff was friendly, property was clean! Would stay again.
- david (10/5): Quiet and Restful - Perfect room and location. Only issue is the individual room door entries need to be updated to ones like in modern hotels.
- Megan (10/5): - Such a romantic place for couples. Enjoyed our stay!
- Jordan (10/5): - My husband and I stayed for 2 nights with our 12 and 8 year old daughters for the older’s softball tournament at the South Strand Red Center.
Willow Lodge was fantastic! So much nicer than the “average” hotel! Parking was easy, the room was lovely (full refrigerator, microwave, small stovetop range and dishwasher with sink), and they had 2 washers and dryers on our floor that came included with the room (so no quarters). It was quiet and quaint and the front desk and cleaning staff were extremely sweet & helpful. This place is truly a hidden gem in the area. We will definitely stay again!!!
- Angela (10/5): - Great location, nice furnishings, comfortable bed, great shower jets.
- Deborah (10/5): A great stay! - This was a great place for our girl’s trip weekend. Close proximity to so many of the area’s favorite restaurants, beaches and shopping. The staff was so kind and courteous. We will be returning and recommending Willow Lodge to family and friends.
- Shawn (10/5): - Clean and quiet. Close to the Marshwalk
- Clark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Regan (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay in a wonderful area. We will definitely visit again!
- Nathan (10/5): - This was a great stay. Good storage space for clothes and toiletries, plenty of hanging spaces in the bathroom for towels, extra towels in the room - all little things that just don’t happen in a lot of other places. I would absolutely stay here again.
- Patricia (10/5): - Friendly, welcoming staff. Quiet, clean room. Easy parking and close to everything.
- William (10/5): - Great place..walking distance to several bars and restaurants. Would definitely book again.
- Matthew (10/5): - A beautiful hotel, very clean and maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of place to eat and visit. Their recommendations were spot on. The hotel is very quiet, on the smaller side which is great. We would stay again, thank you.
- Stephanie (10/5): - An amazing beautiful property. We have stayed here many times and always have a perfect stay. Highly recommend. Great location near boat landing and marshwalk.
- Aaron (10/5): - Great spot, I’ll stay there again.
- Sarah (10/5): - We loved the area
- Donald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tricia (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the accommodations are. All of the employees were extremely helpful and great to deal with.
- Dana (10/5): - Nice place and very comfortable. Easy check in and check out.
- Heather (10/5): - This was a one night stay and it was more than expected. Very nice place and great location.
- pennymS844IQ (4/5): Terrible new management. Don’t bother. - What a let down. We’ve stayed here when it was the Inlet Sports Lodge. It is now the Willow Lodge.
Thinking we were staying at the Inlet Sports Lodge, we previously had breakfast included, the service was wonderful and the pool was ready to go. The best part of our stay this time was the housekeeper. She was helpful and super friendly. This is a no-go for us from now on. The pool was down, the front desk lady wasn’t friendly at all and the breakfast is now gone. Not to mention, as soon as we checked in, they added on another charge. We were all paid up until then. Sad. Find another place.
- Lynn (4/5): - Literally I saw one person at checkin and nobody thereafter and that includes other guests. No one was at the desk overnight and I was in the lobby 3 times the next morning and never saw or heard a soul.
- Iain (10/5): - Nice
- Paul (4/5): - I was never greeted by anyone at the property. I received all of my information to get in the property by text message. The floor in the rooms were dirty. Horrible experience.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place! Clean. Beautiful decor.
- Kim (10/5): Clean and welcoming - Very nice facility. Very clean and friendly staff. The only issue was the tv - the internet was too slow and it constantly disrupted the picture. Would definitely recommend
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional -
- briannapT6116QF (2/5): TOILETS DONT WORK - We stayed here for a weekend back in November and to say our experience was terrible , is an understatement. Our toilet didn't work ALL weekend and had to call numerous times to the front desk . Throughout the weekend, we had to use our friends bathroom down the hall! The Customer Service there was absolutely terrible , as the front desk told us "sorry, there's nothing we can do." Also, good luck trying to talk to management there. NO ONE returns your calls , emails, texts. So unprofessional. we deserve some sort of compensation back because we paid all of this money to stay here and we couldn't even use our own bathroom. I have reached out MULTIPLE times since early November and no one has gotten back to me. Absolutely ridiculous.Do NOT stay at this hotel when vacationing at Murrells Inlet
- Edgar (10/5): - We started at another hotel and changed to
The Sportsman Lodge and the service and room was excellent. Intially the room lock
would not activate and a painter who was working on the floor stopped to help, went to desk and brought the lady on duty who changed the battery on the lock and all was was great. We will be back!
The reason we left the other hote, their key card maker would not work and we would have to be escorted to our room each time we returned...glad it happened, the Sportsman Lodge was a big upgrade all the way around.
- Billie (10/5): Love Murrells Inlet and the Inlet Sports Lodge - The rooms are so unique and roomy. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant next door is really good. The hallway lights should come on earlier during the winter months.
- Gwen (10/5): - It’s great place to stay. The person at registration was very helpful. It was recently taken over by new management. They no longer have breakfast. Room is clean and comfortable. There are some public areas that could use a little cleaning, like the elevator.
- Angela (7/5): Good - Basically had the place to ourselves. Close to restaurants. Pleasant clerk. There wasn't any breakfast, even though it still indicates that when booking room. Only coffee in the morning. There also was nothing, including water available in the usual snack area. We were not aware that new owners had taken over until arrival. Entry for room on printed paper with code, not sure about that kind of system. Guess it saves money? The room was clean with the exception of food in the fridge. We didn't look initially, since we didn't need to use it. Rooms are more expensive with not much to offer guests.
- Jon (10/5): Very good experience. Perfect place for a wedding party - Friendly staff. Cozy and very beautiful property with a nice courtyard in the middle Shower drained slow and could’ve been a little easier to work but it got the job done
- Brandi (10/5): - Very clean!
- Courtney (10/5): - Always a great place to stay
- Kennedy (10/5): - Had to find the staff because no one was at the welcome desk when we got there. Other than that, the room was great.
- George (4/5): - As others have stated recently, breakfast is non existent due to recent ownership decisions. Also the rooftop viewing has been closed down due to issues with the railing. There is nobody at the lobby desk ever. The room door has an electronic lock, no additional chain locks or anything on the inside for security. Make sure you press the lock icon when you leave or your room is insecure. Find another option.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Explore724514 (4/5): No Show New Management - Upon arrival for a recent October stay, my wife and Iearned that the hotel had recently come under new management. At the time of our reservation, breakfast was included in the room price. However, the hotel never reached out to us to say that it was under new management and that due to renovations, breakfast was not being provided. I asked two reception desk attendants for a $30 reduction on the room cost -- a fair price for breakfast for 2 -- and was told that I'd need to speak to the manager, Ray. This provide fruitless, as numerous messages left w/him have gone unanswered. Also of note, when we left the following morning, there was no one at the reception desk for hours. Clearly, this is no way to run a hotel, so I suggest you choose elsewhere when in the area. In fact, upon leaving, a party of 6 golfers which was as frustrated as my wife and I, bemoaned not having selected the Hampton Inn.
- Roving15798556721 (8/5): Nice place - Lovely hotel with a lovely staff. Front desk gentleman was gracious and professional. Coffee available in the lobby. Costa restaurant, on property, was very nice. Quick taxi ride to Murrell's Inlet boardwalk restaurants. (It's probably walkable but perhaps not recommended since there are no sidewalks on the busy road.)
- Marian (10/5): We had a very enjoyable experience at the Inlet Sport Lodge. - The room/suite was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location of the property was easy to find. Staff was courteous and helpful.
- Scott (2/5): - I didn’t get to check in at all. Went to the hotel twice and there was no one at the desk or anywhere to be found to get checked in. I had to sleep in my damn truck.
