Guest Reviews
- MaryLou (10/5): Great taste of old Chester - Great ambiance of old Chester. Staff was amazing. Helped us out with parking and got us into a folk concert across the way. Breakfast at the bar below. We loved it! Nothing we disliked
- Kath (8/5): Fabulous hotel/pub within the city walls. A great base for seeing Chester - The atmosphere in the pub was great. Obviously a popular place. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable. Had a key to the front door in case we got back after pub closed. Car park very close by. The only thing that wasn’t great was what we guess was the kitchen extractor going on at breakfast time. It sounded like a motorbike running.
- Paul (8/5): Brilliant find in a great location - Great location and breakfast. Nice and busy pub with lots of locals.
- Melanie (10/5): Great location for exploring Chester. Comfy room and amazing breakfast. - Great location, quirky room, fabulous breakfast N/A

- Stacey (8/5): - The decor was great and different from a standard, stark hotel. Very unusual and quirky. Great place within walking distance to the centre of Chester. The people who ran it were absolutely lovely...so welcoming and kind. The breakfast was delicious. The rooms are above the bar so you didn't have to go looking for somewhere to have a pint! If you are a light sleeper, you might be disturbed at night.

Very comfortable bed and great value for money Bathroom cold tap didnt really work properly, toilet flush was very temperamental, some black hairs on bed. No area to do hair/make up etc properly, no full length mirror
- Martin (9/5): Excellent location, value for money, friendly and helpful staff - The location is excellent for the City Centre but not too busy as it is tucked along a lane.

- Stuart (9/5): Lovely rooms, great staff and fantastic building - Lovely old building with large, comfortable rooms. Tastefully decorated with plenty of Chester’s history evident.
- alan (10/5): - Good old-fashioned B+B pub in a good location. Breakfast was superb with plenty of choice. We will not hesitate to stay here again in the future. Lighting was a bit too dark in the room.
- Richard (9/5): -
- Pat (9/5): Good stay this lovely old pub. Very central. - Lovely old and quirky pub with great friendly staff and a good selection of beers and other drinks. The bedrooms are above the pub so very convenient. There was no food available in the bar (although before we arrived we were told burgers and steaks would be available) so we got a takeaway pizza and ate it in the room. The breakfast was great - freshly cooked and delicious Would stay there again. We stayed in Room 1 and the bed was a bit creaky. But we did love the ‘old’ quirky decor.
- Rob (9/5): -
- Jools (10/5): Fab stay at the Golden Eagle - Really lovely pub, great vibe and cool interior, friendly and welcoming staff. Room was so nice and breakfast freshly made and delicious. Great location with parking available just opposite. Would highly recommend.

- Evgenii (10/5): A wonderful stay in Chester - Great central location - also close to a big parking nearby; very convenient! Top notch english breakfast. Lovely & cozy design of the rooms. Charming pub with amazing atmosphere and a good cask beer selection. Lovely team who made our stay warm and prepared a nice surprise for my wife's birthday. Glad we were able to book it. Nothing I can think of. Just the narrow staircase if you have a big bag (we did not have any issue with carry-on and 2 backpacks) - is expected from B&Bs like this.
- Anthony (8/5): Comfy pub bed and breakfast in a perfect location👍 - Superb location close to the River Dee. Close to all the amenities. Spacious pub with great staff . We also had a lovely breakfast and again the service and quality was brilliant. Nothing.

Good value meals in the bar. Convenient location for visiting the city walls and town of Chester. The shower didn't work very well in our room.
- Linda (10/5): Brilliant I would stay again great location - Loved the location the staff very friendly and helpful i would recommend this place to stay. Abit quirky but great .great breakfast cooked by Martin Parking . You have to park your car in a car park just meters away but after 3pm then you don’t have to pay . Got there to early had to park somewhere else for a while. Not to much of a problem something your not told till you get there.

We are already thinking of another stay with them.

- Petra (9/5): Nice stay to visit Chester - A very old hotel with a lot of charm and personality. The room was very nice, the breakfast simply fantastic, the staff friendly, and the cozy atmosphere in the Pub made the stay perfect. Chester is always worth a visit. The bathroom was quite dark and very warm because the heating could not be turned off.

- Shahina (9/5): Superb -
- Grace (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (10/5): Lovely place - great location & friendly staff. - Everything was spot on - room, cleanliness, location and friendly staff !! The only minor thing - but this is not unique to this place, is that the bed had a footboard - yes it makes the bed look nice, but for tall folk it's an absolute mare !! At least the one here had holes in it, so not as bad as it could have been.
- Neil (8/5): Very good -
- Daz (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly recommend - Amazing stay, breakfast was first class. Free parking after 3pm near to hotel, or PAYG within quarter mile
Close to all Chester has to offer
